Pete Aronis is a Functional Patterns Practitioner along with almost 2 decades as a full-time coach/trainer. Recognized as one of the most knowledgeable, experienced and established in the Ottawa area. Pete has worked the spectrum of personal training, rehab, athletic development, and amateur boxing coach.

It is proven that boxing training is the most demanding training in the world. It requires you to have it all: strength, power, speed, explosiveness, stamina, endurance, agility, balance, coordination, resilience and mental strength.

Our mission is to give every young athlete the opportunity to reach his or her potential through a well-rounded training program, a program that will them improve their athleticism through biorhythmic and 3-dimensional movement.

Spartan Health is a private training facility by appointment only. Therefore you will not find any judgment or intimidation like at overcrowded commercial gyms.

Training is based around our human blueprint, taking it back to how humans moved. In today’s society with all the time we spend sitting, at desks, on computers or on cell phones we have forgotten how to move based on our human biology. Even those who go to the gym to better themselves unfortunately follow traditional strength protocols that do more harm than good in the long run.

We train the body as one integrated unit in all planes of movement in a biorhythmic fashion where the body and mind become one. The body and mind are not meant to work in separation. Nothing in the body works in isolation. With this philosophy, you will be able to achieve.

It is proven that boxing training is the most demanding training in the world. It requires you to have it all: strength, power, speed, explosiveness, stamina, endurance, agility, balance, coordination, resilience and mental strength. I really take a lot of pride in my boxing fundamental training. I believe anybody who wants to see the true value behind it would benefit more from private boxing training. This is why my boxing training is done 1 on 1, or in a small group, up to 6 people max.

Expérience fantastique: Prior to working with Pete I was not in good shape and then had a back disc injury that compounded the problems. He built a training regimen to strengthen my core with zero use of my back. Even early on when my back was at its weakest, his approach also provided better positioning for common weight bearing or lifting activities. I combined it with a healthier diet and significantly improved my mobility and overall agility.

Expérience fantastique: Pete is an amazing Trainer with a unique understanding of what it truly takes to become a well trained athlete. His unique approach to training allows you to incorporate your entire body with movement. He focuses on work all sides of the body making, allowing you to be fluid in any side of your body. His training constantly evolves and makes allows you to both build power and move more effectively. By far the best training I've ever done and you need to meet Pete and allow him to help your body and mind no matter what you are looking to do.

Expérience fantastique: Training with Pete at Spartan Health was/is the best thing that I have done for myself. I have been training there for the last four months or so and in that time, I have grown stronger, more mobile, more confident, and feel amazing. I also went in with chronic knee pain and Pete was quickly able to see what I needed to get better. I am doing much better now! Pete is an incredible coach. In case it is helpful for others, I am a woman in my forties and felt pretty nervous to even check it out. Pete quickly put me at ease - his expertise shines through and you know instantly that he's the real deal. You will NOT find personal training and coaching expertise like this in a commercial gym. Don't hesitate to give this a try.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been working with Pete since I was 11 years old training for hockey in the off seasons. I’m now 17 and playing in the OHL, the highest level of hockey in the world for my age group. Pete has taken my athletic and mental game to the next level over the years. Expérience fantastique: I've been working with Pete for 6 months now, and have nothing but great things to say about him and his training methods. He provides a unique training mindset that is very effective, and keeps things interesting and fun. I had some serious strength and balance differences from one side to another, and during my training we fixed it. Our schedule was half strength and half boxing. He is also a great boxing trainer, and will to push you to get the best possible workout. I recommend Spartan Health to anyone at any physical level. Keep your health and physical longevity.

Expérience fantastique: I highly recommend Spartan Health. Pete is extremely technically proficient at biomechanical based training systems and professional. The facility is clean and well equipped. Before I started at Spartan Health, I used to suffer from lower back pain and I lacked the motivation to work out. Training here for over a year, has alleviated my lower back pain and dramatically improve my fitness.

Expérience fantastique: I am over 1/2 century old and Spartan Health / Pete has helped me continue to do the activities that I enjoy, such as rock climbing. I sought out something different from "pumping iron" and was fortunate to find Spartan Health and its Functional Patterns training. The workouts are always challenging both physically and mentally; never boring. Pete himself, is always improving his own knowledge to better help his clients. In these Pandemic times, it is a comfort to know that it is a large, clean facility and one-on-one training.

Expérience fantastique: I have had the pleasure of learning from and with Pete Aronis at Spartan Health since the fall of 2018. When I first began to train with Pete, I was recovering from a concussion that I had sustained 3 months earlier and this injury required me to be off work for over a month. During my first meeting with Pete, he attentively listened and wanted to know my goals for the training sessions and patiently took the time to review all of my abilities and built a program that gradually enabled me to regain my abilities. My injury had left me with very little coordination, balance, nor the ability to integrate my movements from one side of the body to the other. Pete’s expertise in Functional Patterns (FP), has effectively enabled me to rebuild my physical abilities, while focusing on functional patterns and movements. His leadership and coaching have also allowed me to regain my abilities, confidence, and hone strength, mobility, and coordination on each side of my body, equally. Moreover, my posture, balance, movement integrations, are better than they were pre-injury. I am beyond grateful that I have met Pete and know that I will remain committed to having him as a key coach in my life. His passion, expertise, patience, kindness, and desire to hone and improve his craft are inspiring and motivating. I would recommend the Functional Patterns approach to all individuals (high performance athletes to seniors). Pete is truly an incredible asset to the FP community and is transforming the bodies and minds of many in the Ottawa region.

Expérience fantastique: I’m 56 years old. I had 4 knee surgeries, 24/7 knee pain and a real messed up and misaligned body. After years of doctors and physiotherapists with little to no results, I finally started training with Pete. Pete is working me back to a balanced and functional body through training and exercise. Expérience fantastique: I’ve been training with Pete for close to a year and I’ve really enjoyed each of my sessions. He is constantly changing things up and I learn something new every session. I used to find the gym boring but training with Pete is different. I’m never bored and I always feel challenged mentally and physically. Expérience fantastique: I am so grateful to Pete. I'm a weekend warrior athlete in my late 30s. Pete is helping me balance all my imbalances, correct and strengthen all my deficits, and move efficiently. He is teaching me how to move in healthy ways that won't create injuries, and that are connected across muscle groups to leverage my full power. In addition to helping me with my sport performance, he's helping me live a pain-free life. Due to past injuries, I had compensation patterns that were making walking for any kind of distance painful. Its been less than 3 months working together and I'm already walking pain-free. Pete's approach is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very personalized. He pays attention to my needs, my deficits, my goals - and plans our training accordingly. Expérience fantastique: I am extremely fortunate to meet Pete Aronis and start my training under his guidance just 2 weeks before sustaining several injuries to my knees and my hip in September of this year. It is because of his expertise, generous sharing of his knowledge and time, and because of his passion that I was able to surprise sports medicine doctor with 30 years of practice today.
