Expérience fantastique: I started training with Jeff in April 2023 until about August 2023 and I must say (this is long overdue)... he is the most invested, fun, knowledgeable and just an amazing personal trainer. We started noticing changes in my body fairly quickly and I felt like I was in the best shape of my life when I worked with Jeff. He really listens to what you want and goes above and beyond to ensure you are getting stronger and reduce chances of injury. Scheduling was very organized and quick as well.
Expérience fantastique: I worked with Matthew for Almost 3 years and I learned so much from him. For anyone looking to start their powerlifting career i would highly recommend Matthew. He will establish your strength and weaknesses and build a base to fundamentally make you stronger. You can't go wrong with Matthew!

Expérience fantastique: Getting back into the gym at my age isn't an easy thing to do. Also because of having a brain injury and other prexisting conditions, I was unsure if this was going to be right for me. Fortunately I had an amazing experience that has only been limited by my own motivation (Josh helped provide that too whether he knew it or not). Josh learned where I was in terms of progress as well as goals/expectations and created a custom program for me. He tweaked it over the course of weeks and ensured I was on my way to being a successful lifter. The one thing I am disappointed about is that I didn't find them sooner than I did. Injury prevention! Injuries because of poor form are now a thing of the past. I also know the whens and whys now, intead of simply following a cookie cutter routine found online. I now can see why I injured my elbow prior to starting with Josh and believe had I been under his wing this past winter I would not have injured myself. I without hesitation recommend Stronger you Personal Training

Expérience positive: Matt is very knowledgeable about physiology. My trainer Chad is a very nice guy. He is always very patient with me and always try to adjust exercises to suit my needs. If I were the owner of this training facility to make it even better, I would invest in a automatic appointment reminder system, or share with clients their training schedule.

Expérience fantastique: I've worked with Matt and Chad for almost 7 years now - that should say something, especially for someone who never thought they'd work with a personal trainer! My goal was to be a stronger hiker, not a power lifter, and their willingness to develop and adapt a routine to pursue that goal has kept me returning. They're always looking for new exercises or new variations to keep things fresh and ensure that progress can be felt and measured. Every time I get a little bit stronger, it makes me want to get a little bit stronger still. Their style is measured and supportive, and they pay super close attention to form which has helped me improve my range of motion and has kept all the exercises safe. I highly recommend working with them. Plus they're just great folks to get along with.

Expérience fantastique: Working with Matt was my first experience working with a personal trainer. It's a different focus from group fitness because I didn't always feel that I was 'working hard' as I would be in a class but because the focus was on MY form and strengths and weaknesses I was able to take away something from every session. I found Matt's demeanor to be somewhat reserved however Matt really knows his stuff which is why I continued working with him. When I showed up with injuries or needed last minute adaptations he knew exactly what to do. I recommend Matt and the StrongerYou group if you are looking into getting fit or getting back into fitness.

Expérience fantastique: I had the pleasure of training with Matt a few years back. It was obvious he has both extensive knowledge and passion for his craft. He genuinely seemed excited for progress and breakthroughs in his clients, no matter how small. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned vet, I’d be shocked if Matt didn’t have some tips, tricks, and exercises you’ve never even heard of to improve the quality of your time in the weight room. I still keep his lessons in mind to this day. Dude leaves no stone unturned to get improvement out of you. I’ll always remember how he helped me hit a personal record on the squat rack during the first consultation with him. Thanks Matt.

Expérience fantastique: I was recommended to SYPT by my chiropractor after a sudden sharp decline in my mobility from a long term back injury. His keen eye and innovative application of the PRI system has greatly helped untwist me. Expérience fantastique: I have worked for several years with Matt and Chad and Conor and Jeff. One of the best aspects to Stronger You is that no matter who I work with, they have all communicated and so moving between trainers is seamless. They are all extremely good at developing activities to deal with my various sport-related injuries; they especially are good at adjusting on the run when I cannot do something. There is nothing stagnant in their training - we do something a little different each session, keeping it interesting and effective. I am constantly feeling stronger and fitter. And when I go away on vacation, they provide me guidance to continue to train on my own. They deserve the 5 stars I gave them!

Expérience fantastique: I joined SYPT as a complete beginner to personal training. My primary goal was to improve stamina, strength and to lose weight.I’ve tried several exercise routines but found myself either demotivated or injured.Matt and Chad were absolutely fantastic!! After and initial evaluation of my mobility and other parameters, they tailored a fantastic personal plan for me which was a perfect blend of challenging and easy. Chad tirelessly answered all of my scientific questions, explained new concepts of weight training and motivated me with little tips and tricks thorough out. Mentally too, I became stronger and more resilient. My entire experience was elevated only because I found an exceptional trainer and human being in Chad. He was patient, persistent, funny and a thorough professional. Matt was very accommodative of my busy schedule and was great at communicating at all times. 100/10 recommend SYPT!! I am stronger, lighter and more resilient because of SYPT.

Expérience fantastique: I received a couple of personal training sessions with Matt as a gift and was so glad to have booked in. I had worked out a fair bit in the past but never understood why I had trouble progressing with my lifts. After some really valuable time learning in the gym, I have carried on the lessons received and it has made a huge difference for a number of months now. Had I not moved far away I would have kept going, but at least I’m still benefiting from my sessions, albeit now at my home gym. Would definitely recommend booking in. Thanks!

Expérience fantastique: I injured back at work and contacted Matt Taylor and stronger you personal training. They did a very thorough assessment and talked me through their thoughts and ideas about going forward with rehabilitation. They are extremely professional and respectful. Matt helped me get back to my normal life, I worked with physiotherapists for 18 months for a shoulder injury. 3 months training with Matt my back injury and shoulder were recovered and building strength. I felt stronger and more confident after working with Matt and Chad. Can't recommend them enough!!

Expérience fantastique: I am a senior and have been training for about five years with the SYPT guys for about five years, mostly with Chad. As a result I am healthier, stronger, have greater stability as well as more confidence. Chad is everything you want in a personal trainer. He is knowledgeable, observant, encouraging and quick to tweak and make changes so that I can achieve greater benefits. In fact, this adaptive bodywork has been one of the most important parts of my training. I highly recommend Chad and the SYPT guys for anyone who wants to become fitter and stronger.

Matt is very knowledgeable and helped me fix up my technique for powerlifting, which stopped me from getting injured every time I tried picking up the bar. If you want to refine your technique, lift heavier or in need of programming I would definitely recommend!

Expérience fantastique: Jeff is amazing! I have been working with him for 6 months now and have met so many goals I didn’t know I even had! Originally I joined because I was in a couple car accidents and my body was not recovering to the point I was before. Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, he is always patient with me and motives me. I am the type of person that will not go workout on my own, having Jeff is the only reason I do go, I call him my gym babysitter. I started to see results right away in my training, I would see a sports therapist once a week and now it’s once a month. My back has more stability now and it doesn’t hurt constantly. On a side note, friends have said this is the best my body has every looked (thanks for that bootay Jeff ).

Expérience fantastique: I started training with Jeff 3 months ago after a friend started working with him a few months prior that. I was really impressed with her results and needed a push in the right direction for functional weight lifting and pain management. In a short time Jeff has exceeded my expectations, I’m noticing positive changes in not only my physical health but my mental health. Jeff is very cognizant of my injuries, and very respectful of my limits. (I’ve worked with trainers who have had that “one more rep” mentality, and it just doesn’t work for me) I never feel sore/in pain after work outs. He’s got a great positive attitude, he knows what he’s doing and he keeps a detailed track record of my progress. Couldn’t ask for more in a personal trainer. The only negative is that it is very expensive, so I did have to make substantial budget adjustments,

Expérience négative: Before I get into the negatives about financial trust that drop this review down a few stars, I’ll start off by saying both Chad and Jeff are really good and effective coaches at teaching and communicating, and they’ll give you all their effort, so 5 stars for both of them. Chad has great intuition at knowing what kind of cues or movements will help you learn proper form. On top of that, he’s fun to work with, has an uplifting energy that’ll keep you motivated, enjoying your sessions, learning, and giving your best. Jeff is very knowledgeable and his dedication to helping his clients is inspiring. I recall one day he wasn’t feeling so good, I let him know we could take a break, but he persisted on. Unfortunately, despite the amazing trainers he has, Matt isn’t trustworthy with money and that led me to stop working with them after the initial 3-month commitment. The first red flag was having prices listed online at $80 per session 3x a week, but during the consultation I was quoted a flat rate of $4200 for 36 sessions over 3 months + remote coaching. Apparently, he had ‘updated’ his prices to $100-$120 a session but didn’t update the advertised cost. The second red flag is during the consultation, Matt said it’s $4200 if you commit today, yet $4700 if you decide a day later. That kind of penalty for people wanting to think things over is really sketchy. If someone doesn’t make up their mind during the consultation, they have no motive to come back because they’re going to be charged $500 more simply for taking the time to budget. The third red flag was the contract being sketchy – no price breakdown/itemization of where the $4200 is coming from, the contract was full of old dates (indicating it’s been reused), and had a section about legally pursuing clients. Doesn’t inspire much confidence. Anyway, despite all that making me feel super uncomfortable, I talked to Matt about how sketchy it appears and gave advice on how to appear more trustworthy in the future. I thought it’d make him reconsider how unprofessional his handling of finances and contracts look. I let it go and because of having such great sessions with Chad and Jeff, a month later I wanted to buy more. Then I get a bill for $110, despite being told when I signed up that it’s $100 each for 3+ sessions a week. I asked Matt and his response was “Good catch”. At this point I resigned myself to the fact that he’s just not reliable with money, and when you need to double check to see if you’re being overcharged or not – that’s not a good relationship to be in as a client. The only reason I was tempted to continuing training with StrongerYou beyond the initial 3 months was due to Chad and Jeff’s quality of coaching. I gave Matt a chance, but he let me down and my initial intuition was proven right. Maybe he overcharged me thinking I wouldn’t notice, only he knows, either way I left feeling disappointed and felt he valued getting as much money as possible from me versus having respect for his clients. I miss working with Chad and Jeff, if they were at any other gym I’d hire them again. So it pains me to say you simply can’t trust StrongerYou with your money, even though you can trust Chad and Jeff with your training goals.
Troy, First of all I'm saddened to hear that you left your training experience feeling that my only interest was maximizing profits, especially given that every single time you had raised a concern or even had a question, I set aside time for either a complete reply or even a phone call/text directly with you to ensure everything was addressed and corrected/clarified where needed. My goal with SYPT has and always will be to offer a premium and fully comprehensive personal training service and developing and educating my team to be able to deliver that. There are quite a few points that you raised in your review so I've itemized them below and addressed each one individually. 1. Price disparity between charged price and listed price. On the strongeryou website, there are no prices listed. However the Google listing that you refer to in respect of the $80 is something that has not been managed for years. As soon as you brought it to my attention, I removed the price listing from Google in order to match the website. I then explained our entire pricing structure both for the initial package as well as your options for continuing training. In respect of your comments involving the discount, I have a promotion that allows first time clients to secure the rate of $4000 plus GST if they put a deposit down on the same day as our consultation. If the individual chooses not to proceed with training, the deposit is fully refundable. I can assure you that you were charged in accordance with our current rates at the time of our assessment session. As with any business, and as outlined in the contract, prices are subject to change especially in a time when inflation is increasing. 2. Errors in the initial contract Yes, there was an issue with a couple dates outlined in the contract. I had missed those fields when drafting your initial contract and made that mistake. No dispute there. You were courteous enough to highlight this issue with me and I fixed it asap. I would never intentionally make this mistake. You are correct that we use a standard contract for our training packages to ensure that all of our clients are agreeing to the same terms and conditions for their training. 3. Legally pursuing clients The clause in our standard contract pertains specifically to unpaid dues. Should a client fail to pay amounts owing for their training, we note in the contract that we are entitled to pursue a client for this amount. Regardless of whether such a clause is in a contract, any business is always entitled to pursue an individual for an amount that remains due and owing. 4. General Comments In general, we appreciate that our business model did not meet your needs. However, I, nor anyone at SYPT, would ever mislead or overcharge a client intentionally. We wish you well with your future training. - Matt
Expérience fantastique: The short review: I got stronger. Working with Matt and Chad, I lost 35+ lbs and built strength safely after rehabbing from injury. Patellar fracture (aka shattered my knee-cap into a dozen pieces: 10/10 would not recommend!) a few years ago messed me up. I’d gained weight and lost motivation. I don’t necessarily want to compete in powerlifting, but I set out to improve my deadlift, squat, and bench. After puttering around on my own lifting for a few years, I wanted to learn non-nonsense foundations in strength training. Their coaching – and experience in powerlifting – felt like working with subject-matter experts. I’m sort of allergic to the fad-like, culty gym-culture “hype of the week” stuff, but that’s not what’s going on here. As an educator, I was also impressed with how these folks approach their motivation and coaching styles. Positive vibes and solid knowledge/experience. Wish I had stayed in Vancouver longer to keep training here!

I have learned a lot and my strength increased in a few months exponentially. I was always safely pushed to exceed which I thought is my limit. If anyone is looking for personal training, this is the spot. Friendly and professional trainers, clean and well equipped gym with good ventilation. I would highly recommend it!

Expérience fantastique: I started working with Matt after a serious mountain biking injury that left me unable to walk for months. I'd never done strength training before but Matt designed a program for me that allowed me to build strength and stay positive throughout my recovery. Strength training is now part of my regular exercise routine, and I can't thank Matt enough for his role in making that happen. I loved that I could do it from home in my own time, and that the program gradually changed each week at a pace I could manage. Matt was super supportive, patient and encouraging throughout. His depth of knowledge and expertise made me feel confident I was in good hands. I highly recommend working with him and his team.

As a beginner, I had no idea about most of the concepts or how to properly perform some exercises, but he was very patient and provided tips and cues that really helped me get better. Expérience fantastique: Matt is a rockstar. He taught me a completely different way to look at training and posture and injuries. At first I thought his methods were a little odd, but given he's built like a freight train, I trusted his direction. Sure enough, my strength gains consistently went up, without increasing my body weight, my shoulder pain (bothering me for nearly 8 months) is gone, and I've drastically increased the mobility in my left shoulder. I would 100% recommend Matt at Stronger You PT. Regardless of the package you invest in, you will definitely get more than your money's worth.

Expérience fantastique: If you are on the fence about getting a personal trainer, just do it and call these guys. I am so glad I did. I have had 4 online sessions with Matt (and Connor) so far and each one has been super informative, customized to what works for me and progressively building on the last one. Matt is patient, encouraging and responds to my questions/feedback. Overall, i am super satisfied and already seeing a difference and my low back pain is practically gone :)

Expérience fantastique: Highly recommend going to Matt and Chad for sessions. They are super knowledgeable and really want you to succeed at your weight loss goals. They always got me to push my limits without making the session too difficult. They were also amazing at teaching me stretches and exercises that helped me when I was finding a workout difficult or not getting the proper technique down. I would have continued to see them if I wasn't moving away from the city.
Expérience fantastique: I was referred to Matt and Chad from a friend. Matt and Chad are both super knowledgeable and really helped me kick start my goal to get lean while staying strong. I worked mostly with Chad - he was helpful and patient with my progress as I was trying to fight off bad habits (HIP HINGE!). I liked how they changed up exercises / gradually added weight to keep pushing me to do better and maximize results. They always demonstrated what I needed to do and made sure I was feeling what I needed to feel in the right muscles. They have set me up for success and provided really great tips/strategies to help continue with cutting. The most important thing is that after every session, I always felt great, like I unlocked another level in strength or form. You guys rock, and I would definitely recommend!
