My daughter began her Capoeira journey here shortly after her 4th birthday, and the transformation has been extraordinary. Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art blending acrobatics, dance, music, and culture, has brought so much growth and joy into her life. Coming from a Portuguese background with family living in Brazil, I deeply value how authentically this academy represents the culture and traditions of Capoeira. It’s a beautiful connection to our heritage that my daughter can experience firsthand. When my daughter first started, she was very shy and spent her first few classes simply observing. But thanks to the leadership and encouragement of Mike, Emily, and Andrés, she quickly felt welcomed and comfortable. Receiving her uniform—Abadás, which we now call her "superpower"—was a turning point. From that moment, she dove right in, picking up the ginga, a key Capoeira technique, almost instantly. She hasn’t looked back since and has flourished under their guidance. The classes are a perfect blend of excitement, discipline, and learning. My daughter has developed strength, confidence, respect, and so much more. Beyond martial arts, she’s learning self-defense, acrobatics, music, and even the history and culture of Brazil. The traditional songs and instruments like the berimbau and atabaque bring an authentic cultural experience that is truly enriching. The team at Z GRVTY is phenomenal—dedicated, hands-on, patient, and wholeheartedly invested in the kids’ growth. Mike, Emily, and Andrés are so passionate about what they do, and it shows in every class. Professor Mike is incredibly skilled, blending his expertise with patience and encouragement to ensure every child reaches their potential. My daughter has developed her own special relationship with each one of them, and their unique teaching styles and encouragement have had a lasting impact on her growth. They’ve created a family-like atmosphere, complete with community events like BBQs, competitions, belt ceremonies, and even opportunities to travel to other academies. Every Tuesday Roda is packed with energy, and the yearly events with guest instructors from around the world are always unforgettable. My daughter looks forward to the Tuesday Roda—this is where everyone comes together, across all age groups, taking turns to play a game in the center with each other. The energy is magical. Even for me, as I watch, I can’t help but be drawn in—clapping, singing, and sometimes even dancing. I love the joy it brings my daughter, as she now shares the same passion I have. My daughter has grown immensely in the nearly two years she’s been part of this academy. Her friendships, strength, and confidence are a testament to the incredible work of the Z GRVTY team. I’ve recommended this program to many friends, and everyone shares the same glowing sentiment. It’s a place where kids learn not just martial arts but also discipline, social skills, and a deep appreciation for culture. It’s also been so cute to hear my daughter’s Portuguese pronunciation evolve with a Brazilian accent, which makes it even more special as we connect with our Brazilian heritage. I did 2 classes and they let me participate. I was sweating, and legs were like jello. I look forward to more classes.

Expérience fantastique: Such an amazing and friendly environment! Axé is super welcoming to everyone and anyone; no matter age or experience! Totally beginner-friendly. Not only are the instructors incredibly helpful, but the community and the people are so so supportive as well. Whether you like to dance, fight, play instruments or do acrobatics, the Capoiera class has something for you! My friend was TERRIFIED when I roped her into coming along with me, but when she finally came and had her first class, she would not stop talking about it afterward. I don't think that I've ever been in a class before where I've been able to improve so quickly while at the same time learning so many things. You'll never have to feel like things are going too fast for you because the staff is kind and considerate and guides you while letting you learn at your own pace. If you want a place that cares about you, and to work out while having fun then this is it! Unparalleled experience! 10/10 :)

We looked for a Mississauga martial arts facility in order to introduce our 5 year old to martial arts and we’re so glad we found Zero Gravity. Our son loves coming here and looks forward to seeing Mike and Emily each week, which speaks volumes. The lessons offer discipline, fun and variety each time. Mike and Emily are great with kids and provide individual attention in order to promote growth. Highly suggest to anyone looking for introduction to capoeira or martial arts in general.

Expérience fantastique: I love the space and love the Bamba Team. I brought my 9-year-old daughter here to continue her capoeira training. I was impressed by the first 5 minutes of class. They were focused on the kids' training, so professional and most importantly FUN! They reignited my daughter's love for capoeira. Then I took a sneak peek at the adult class, and instantly, I knew I was going to switch over to Bamba as well. They accommodate all levels, all ages, all speeds, and have a variety of classes throughout the week including Karate and Bujinka. And when I thought this was it, I found out they offer ZOOM training sessions during the day for members as well! This was great for me because I work from home and it kept me active. You can also join classes by ZOOM if you can't make it in person. Starturday conditioning classes are amazing for everyone. There is literally something for everyone. I'm looking forward to trying the airtrack soon! And excited for when Z GRVTY expands with even more options! On top of an amazing space to train, you have the sweetest people managing and training us. I'm so happy we found you guys and joined the team and community.

Mike and his team provided full service (all I had to do was cake and loot bags) and ensured the kids had fun and received lots of instruction with safety as a top priority. Very patient and welcoming to all. I would suggest any one with kids this is a great place for them to get some good grounding. If you are older doesnt matter still check them out. Expérience fantastique: Over the years, I've trained in various martial arts, calisthenics, and body weight training at different gyms and fitness facilities. But none have helped me tackle my goals all in one like this gym! I initially joined this gym because I wanted to improve my calisthenics/become acrobatic and thought this would be the perfect destination to start my acrobatics journey. Thereafter I saw capoeiristas showcase tremendous high level martial arts athleticism, kicks, and various types of cartwheels during a capoeira class and saw an even greater opportunity to not only train acrobatics but to become a better martial artist. Mike Soltysiak - the owner of the gym is a world class capoeirista and a technician of the art, helping students break down each move, simplifying complex kicks, sequences and flows so that anyone can try to learn Capoeira. He also emphasizes on the importance of the basics and fundamentals to ensure you technically develop properly. The environment at this academy is very friendly, very helpful and no egos. I've been coming here since last summer and constantly getting pushed to become better! This gym is phenomenal!

They have teachers for Capoiera, Bujinkan Taijutsu, Kyokushin Karate, and children's classes. They are true martial artists dedicated to their craft and bettering themselves as fighters, and will push you to do the same. Adults can expect basic training to help you prepare for eventual sparring, and children can expect fun and tight classes that keep you moving. Highly recommend getting to know them and see if the styles taught here are right for you.

Expérience fantastique: Really welcoming staff. I enjoyed my first Brazilian Samba class with Emily. To tell you why, I have to get into my frustrations with other gyms/ classes. I'm tall so during any gym class I focus hard on form rather than speed to try to get things right and avoid injury- because of that I always feel behind in a class and when I totally know I'm messing up some instructors just ignore not just me but whole rows of people struggling and in need of some personal direction or adjustment. Emily was *so* good. She was very attentive and good at pausing you if you needed to work on something while directing the advanced dancer and vice versa. She definitely knew how to take control of the class and adapt to the needs. She was sweet and encouraging. She did a good job increasing the challenge gradually so that everyone felt like they could participate. She was attentive and even noticed how I can improve on stretches at the end. The class had great music and fun moves. Emily was a gifted dancer herself who I hope I can learn more from in the future.

Expérience fantastique: As an older student returning to train capoeira after several months away, I am freshly struck by how much fun it is here. Mike is an inspired instructor full of enthusiasm who welcomes students with awesome dynamic training. Flexible class schedule is good too.

Expérience fantastique: Just had my son there for 2 weeks of summer camp. It was a great 2 weeks as the main philosophy was “no screens”. They did everything from playing soccer, boxing, conditioning training, capoeira and STEM activities like building lego robots that fought battle bots style and even flying drones. Every day at the end of the day, my son was tired from the jam packed days. They would cap off the week with a sushi lunch. We will be back for sure for the 2 weeks in August!!! We have been coming here for capoeira for the past 3 years and the summer camps just add to that overall experience. Thanks Mike and Emilly for all that you do!!!!!

Expérience fantastique: I have trained here at the gym my entire life training first in taekwondo and then capoeira when Mike started teaching. I attended a bbq he was holding after getting the gym from my old master, it was right after my other class and they had free food . I spent about a half an hour learning about this martial art known as capoeira from another student there named Odin and then talked with Mike. I started training the first class after that and about 5 years later it has become a part of my life along with the amazing family group that has grown here. The lessons Mike teaches have been an inspiration to many, including myself and have helped me to better myself both for myself and as an instructor in the Carets Canada Program. His teachings have made it so I have exceeded standards whenever I am marked when teaching or coaching. They have given me a confidence I would never have gotten otherwise and for that and so much more I am grateful to both him and the Group Axé. I recommend this gym and capoeira family to everyone of all ages as I am sure this place will have the same affect on you as it has on me and so many others already.
