Klimat | Bouldering + Fitness Gym - Wakefield Quebec

Expérience positive: Excellent route setting, friendly gym staff, decent food, great vibes. However, I'm giving it 3 stars because in my 12 years of climbing around the US and Canada I've never been to a gym with more unsupervised children. Last time I was here, my girlfriend landed on a kid's neck who was running underneath her as she climbed. Fast-forward to the next time we visited (months later) and it's just as out of control. Unsupervised kids are an issue in every commercial climbing setting where there isn't an age limit (thats just how it goes) but the issue at Klimat isn't like anything I've seen before.

Expérience fantastique: This place is a gem, clean, well organised and a great spot to un-wind. The pizza is great, the climbing aspect is very well done. Great staff and an awesome time. Really enjoyed sitting by the firepit outside, relaxing, while my kids burnt their extra energy climbing walls. Will be back!

Expérience fantastique: Wow. It may just be the best place on the planet. Consistently incredibly setting & clean space. Such an esthetic space you just have to see. Addition of a beautiful cafe and lively outdoor bouldering/patio space within the past year takes Klimat from 5 stars to 6. Looking forward to Klimat setting the standard in Ottawa! Maybe with some lead climbing?

Expérience positive: I enjoy this gym. It's very clean, respectful, open spaced, and there are much more equipment than a commercial gym. I love the atmosphere and especially the decoration of plants, along with the loft to perform yoga. The only negative thing I have to say about the gym are the attendees who arrive before the opening hours - I have seen some of those who do not use the spray bottle or towel to wipe down their station after use. As well, those same individuals tend to occupy 2 stations at the same thing, while hoarding some weights. I have also seen them drop weights. The reason they most likely do this is because the owners are not aware and feel they can do whatever they want.

Expérience positive: Great gym. Friendly, efficient great staff. I go almost every day. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that they do not enforce the rule for users disinfecting the equipment before and after use, in spite of the fact that disinfectant spray bottles and towels are amply provided, This is mostly from the younger clientele. Otherwise it is a fabulous resource for Wakefield.

Expérience fantastique: Gorgeous building with big windows and state of the art gym equipment upstairs - great vibe with lots of youngsters doing healthy stuff and cheering each other on in the gym and on the climbing walls. Bought a membership. Love this place.

Expérience fantastique: I recently came here to try bouldering for the first time had and it was great! The staff were incredibly friendly and helped figure out how to do certain routes or to answer any questions, and the gym itself had a great variety of routes for climbers of all levels (including some beginner friendly stuff). I highly recommend Klimat to anyone looking for a fun and challenging bouldering experience! Will be coming back for sure!

Expérience fantastique: Love this gym! We joined because we don't have a garage any more, so we needed a new gym and our children love to boulder. So here we are! And we love love love it. It's perfect. Clean, friendly, and just has everything we need for our family. There is a family plan or you can buy drop in passes or get a punch card. So many options. What I love as a local, that if we are members of the gym, we can access it early in the morning 0530! I love that. So highly reccommend.

Expérience fantastique: Café and outdoor climbing walls are open.Great atmosphere and climbing. Walls for all climbing experience levels, with new walls every week or so. Fitness and yoga classes as well as clean and up to date workout equipment.

Expérience fantastique: A few weeks ago I went to Klimat for the first time. I fell while bouldering and injured my ankle. The staff member Chloé was amazing she iced my ankle, made sure I was comfortable and check on me regularly to see if she needs to call an ambulance. She was so sweet she even offered me her snacks and refused to take no for an answer. She was caring and professional. Thankfully it was a sprain and she helped me through the critical part of it. I really appreciate everything she did, I could thank her enough, I’m grateful to have had her around at the time . Once I fully recover I’m definitely going back!

Expérience fantastique: This is one of the most welcoming bouldering gym ever. While the staff is amazing, the state of the art facility was designed to create a community of climbers. Another win for beautiful Wakefield!

Expérience fantastique: Best bouldering in the Ottawa area IMO. Really well set routes, high quality build and a big variety of holds & volumes. Very good range of difficulties, you can be a beginner or V8+ and have equal fun here. The gym upstairs is also equally as good, and ideal for anyone that wants to avoid a typical gym, as it's a much more laid back environment (no tv's or pumping loud music) and has views over the Wakefield hills. Prices are very competitive and they have half price nights on Thurs/Fri when you go after 8pm. Shoe rental is cheap too if you need it.

Expérience fantastique: Just visited this gym for the first time last week. I haven’t tried the bouldering yet. I’m going for the gym side. Super clean and hip facility. Good amount of free weights and some cool treadmills and rowing machines. Beautiful place!

Expérience fantastique: By far my favorite climbing gym. Gym overall review: Clean, modern and great environment. Gym feel: Feels like home Bouldering: From easy to hard, all the problems are well thought out and very very fun. Highlights: Boulding + Gym + Stretching area. Free coffee and fun events and 24 hour access for members. I wish I lived closer but i still make the effort to drive down to Wakefield once a month to climb there.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful gym! The building itself is wonderfully designed, bright and airy, and super clean. The climbing routes are diverse and super well marked, and the work out equipment upstairs is comprehensive and all excellent quality.
