Expérience fantastique: Always a great place. Clean well looked after.

Expérience positive: Went to see if they offered any day passes but couldn’t find anyone working there. They have screens to buy annual or monthly pass but they all have annual initiation fees of 49$. Plus bi-weekly payment plans. I love my gym. This is a small gym but looked like they had atleast one of each main weight machines.

Expérience positive: Clean gym and nice equipment. Review would be a 5 but recently I've the friendly welcomes and goodbyes have been declining rapidly. When I first started it was nice and welcoming but there have been times that I come and go without anyone saying anything. This change puts you into no better spot then fit 4 less. Also wanted to note an annoyance about buying anything from here. Purchased one of the bags and when I took it home to put my stuff in I noticed the quality was very poor. The next day I wanted to return it but no refunds. I'll never purchase anything other then a membership from here again. *** To whoever is replying to these reviews, please stop using automatic canned responses. One person was complaining about the hours and you took them to contact the gym to suggest equipment... The perception is that you don't care..

Expérience négative: The place is clean, but as soon as the manager leaves the teenagers in the facility BLAST the music. I have noise cancelling AirPods and can’t even enjoy my workout with the music maxed. Stop hiring teenagers and leaving them unsupervised if they can’t act right as soon as management leaves.

Expérience négative: Doesn’t have a bench press, heaviest dumbbells are 75 pounds. Nice gym for women and children.

Expérience fantastique: It's a good gym not too busy no waiting for equipment but I go early in the morning when it's not as busy. They have everything you need to get a good workout in and stay in shape.

Expérience positive: We have been going here since moving from Calgary, Great atmosphere, clean, organized well to get a great workout with lots of variety. It’s a very comfortable gym to workout in. The only thing I suggest is getting another pec/rear delt fly Machine if possible. And I find lately a lot of members are wearing very strong perfumes and colognes and having allergies to these strong smells interfere with mine and I’m sure many others health. A fragrance free policy in place would be great!

Expérience positive: I’d love to give 5 stars, but the limited weekend hours are becoming a drawback. A schedule from 6am to 10pm Friday through Sunday would be ideal. I’ve noticed the usual suggestion to ‘speak to management’ in response to similar feedback, but that feels a bit dismissive. A more helpful response would acknowledge that some members have busy weekends, showing that this feedback is truly being considered, and commit to exploring extended weekend hours.

Expérience positive: A wonderful place away from the larger, busier gyms. But especially great for those starting.

Expérience fantastique: Cool location with rare weights you normally don't find at planet fitness. It was cool to workout with 22.5lbs and 27.5 lbs weights for the first time in a long time

Expérience positive: Left a fit for less cause I wasn't getting the benefits that I signed up for. Joined planet fitness and was enjoying it. Was able to use the whole benefits to the black card. Months in they change the hours making it hard for me to get in to doing a workout. I suffer from anxiety and doing early morning workout was perfect. Now I have not been there in almost 2 months but hoping that they will put their hours back to being open 24/7. When I usually go is around 2 in the morning. And even though it's open Tuesday through Friday 24/7 I have no drive to go. Please go back so I can give higher rating

Expérience fantastique: After trying a lot of gyms I love this one because it’s super clean, no grunting or banging of weights, respectful people and staff, and I love the spa.

Expérience négative: Only thing…. One of the most frustrating aspects is the obsessive policing of the shoe policy. Staff members constantly interrupt workouts to enforce a “no shoe removal” rule, even in areas where it would be reasonable or safer to do so, like stretching zones or during yoga. It’s distracting and unnecessary, especially when other, more significant issues are ignored. I feel like its place to relax but not to go home by thinking their words (Assitant manager SP). Disappointed being 1.5 years member(pf) @planet fitness❌ @ planet sickness✅

Expérience négative: Switching my membership to other gym. It was supposed to stay open for 24 hrs. But timings have been changed for Friday, Saturday and Sundays.

Expérience négative: Hours changed does help with scheduling so won’t be going to this gym anymore.. also can see this gym not lasting long term as hours affect most people..

Expérience positive: Been going for 7 months. Good so far but very concerned about the state of some of the equipment. In particular the smith machines look like they are warped/ready to collapse. If you are there take a look at the second one from the front windows, or the closest to the back wall (they are the most badly warped). Please fix them before they break. Also the seats on some of the recumbent bikes have come loose and wobble side to side. (I don't blame the staff for this, I know people do stupid stuff on these machines, just needs some maintenance). Update: nobody injured yet but machines look terrible

Expérience positive: Very clean. Staff are friendly. Seems to be a welcoming place by staff and clients alike. Edit: I do echo others concerns with the hours changing. When I signed up it was 24/7, but the hours have since changed. Since it doesn't affect me personally, I didn't realize until recently, but changing policies and not offering partial refunds to clients who are affected is a little shady. Brings my review from 5 stars to 3, unfortunately. I may look for another gym in the new year, since I have no guarantee they are actually going to stick to other portions of their contact.

Expérience négative: The staff is nice and welcoming but the woman who is the manager(fat&obese) is the rudest lady I have ever seen in any business. 0 experience on how to talk to customers or members. If there was an option for 0 stars I would most likely rate that.

Expérience négative: I want to caution others about my disappointing experience with Planet Fitness, in the hopes of preventing them from making the same mistake I did. When I joined in May, I specifically chose Planet Fitness because their contract promised 24-hour operations, 7 days a week—an essential requirement due to my job's demanding schedule. However, just one month after joining, they completely changed their hours, effectively breaching the terms of our agreement. Given that the new hours no longer accommodated my schedule, I requested a refund of my annual fee so I could switch to a gym that actually offered 24-hour access. Shockingly, despite being charged recently, I was told "there's nothing they can do." This disregard for their customers and refusal to rectify a situation where they essentially changed the terms of our contract and kept my money is unacceptable. Potential gym-goers should be aware of Planet Fitness's lack of respect for their customers and their unwillingness to address legitimate concerns.

Expérience négative: Edit: disappointed by the response from owner, same generic response sent to every other review expressing displeasure about the hours. I should not have to drive all the way to Halifax costing me an extra 2$ each time to use the gym 7 days a week. I was going to give the gym a higher rating but there's one big con that really lowers the score for me. Let's start with the pros: clean; friendly staff (mostly); good environment for beginners and people who dont want to work out with meateads; good range of equipment; fairly large functional workout area; convenient location; lots of parking. And now the big con: HOURS OF OPERATION!!!! Advertised as 24 hours but only open 7 to 7 on weekend now. While this might not be an issue for everyone, I work on weekends. So by the time I factor in hours of work, commute, time getting ready, meals etc., a 12 hour window is not enough for me to be able to get in a workout. It is now effectively a facility I can only use Monday to Friday. When I addressed my concerns to management they were extremely dismissive. I get the financial reasons for shorter hours, if no one uses it then you are paying staff for nothing. Please consider extending the weekend hours to 6am to 10pm so more people can still get their weekend workout in and you still save the staff costs of not being 24 hours.

Expérience positive: Good staff, and equipment and advertised as 24 hours when they first opened. Obviously you join for the accessibility, but they then change their hours to a skewed 7-7 weekend and only 24 hours Tuesday-thursday. I mean stick to the open and managed 24 hour planet fitness concept or schedule hours that make sense. Some of us like to workout before the day starts at 7 even on weekends.

Even on weekends they going to close early , if this situation continues i am going to revoke my membership

Expérience fantastique: Every time we go they are so welcoming. We live close by so it's very convenient for us. As seniors we are happy to see other like minded people that are looking for the same outcome.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve started planet fitness since the beginning at the Dartmouth location. The staff is amazing and the environment is clean. I’ve started my training program with the Club Trainer Jane and it’s been great, she is really good teaching the different exercise, tips and illustrating the proper technique of hitting each muscle group. I recommend that to not be afraid to ask questions, she will be willingly happy to help. Best gym keep up the good work

Expérience positive: Very clean, lots of machines. The price is amazing for the value. With the Black Card, I can also bring my son, who is a teen, or I can bring a guest. Closing at 7 pm is too early on Sunday. Free weights are also limited, and the bars preloaded stop at 60 pounds. Overall, I enjoy it due to the cleanliness and most of the staff like SP to mention one only are incredible. ️‍♂️

Along with they can Make new Rules anytime to disturb your workout. -Join FIT4Less Nearby to have Peaceful Workout. Small area, No reach barbell bench press just machines. • All shirts must have sleeves, whether short or long sleeves. Sleeveless shirts are not permitted. • The outermost layer of clothing must be PF branded and may be black, grey, or purple. • Boots are not permitted. No bags, inclusive of fanny packs and belt bags are to be worn while on the clock, unless approved by HR in extenuating circumstances. Moreover they will make all new rules as per agreement.

Expérience positive: Good experience, many cardio machines but there aren’t enough strength training equipments. Place is pretty clean over all.

Expérience négative: I started going to this gym starting of this year everything was so perfect ,so i asked my cousin brother who is a fitness coach back home if he can train me on facetime because i am so new to gym i used to workout in the evening when everyone is around so the manager came to me that it’s against the policy I didn’t say anything I checked online yes there is a policy i get it so i asked other guys at the gym who actually work there what should i do so they suggested me that i can come in when there’s less people or no one is around so I started coming at 4:00 am i changed my whole schedule so did my brother back home also guess what 3 weeks later she sends one of her employees that I can’t record even there’s two people in the gym I wasn’t even recording dude i was on the video call with someone i asked the employee if i can talk to her she said she gonna be start working at 6:00 am and it was around 4:30 am because she also works out in the morning I don’t know if that is because of the skin or she has any personal issues with me, But i have one question though why there are so many videos on YouTube filmed in planet fitness if that’s against there policy i would suggest the team to remove all of them i have canceled my other gym membership and paid 110 fine for that because planet fitness is close to my house but I don’t care this gym is not giving any special features that other gyms don’t have i would rather go to other gyms if i have to deal with this hateful situation. I asked my friends also they gonna cancel the membership too for planet fitness Dartmouth

Expérience positive: Planet Fitness Dartmouth is a good gym. It is not too busy, has plenty of equipment, and is relatively clean (relative to how many gym users frequent here). The locker/change rooms are decent, with plenty of lockers, with adjoining washrooms/showers. I selected to join PF as they DO NOT permit patrons to take pictures and videos in the gym. Membership fees align with other local gyms.

Expérience négative: I love this gym. I left fit4less because this gym is cheaper and has awesome staff. The only reason I am giving this rating is for the changes in the hours that they made. I think it’s false advertising if you say it’s 24/7 open yet the hours are so different. The fact that gym opens only from 7AM to 7PM on weekend is such a deal breaker. Would change my rating once the management figure out the hours of operation.

Their machines are top of the line, staff are very knowledgeable and ready to help at any time. The facility is new so space is always VERY clean!! I love the fact that you can bring a "buddy" with you every time you go regardless if they are a current member or not with the black card!!! I switched from Goodlife...best choice I've made

Expérience positive: I really like this gym, feels quite inclusive and welcoming. The only negatives are the lockers area is quite small, and also i feel like there needs to be more than 1-2 of each machine. Often left waiting for the ones i want to use which is not ideal! Super clean, good atmosphere and staff were super helpful showing me how to use machines.

Expérience négative: Edit: So sad I have to take back my 5 star review but all PF I ever been to always been 24 hours. Closing the gym on Fridays at 9 and 7 to 7 Saturdays and Sunday but 24 hrs on Tues to Thursday doesn't make any sense. I know hours were cut back to save a few dollars on staff but c'mon we pay for what's advertised you cant tell people 24/7 then change it randomly without letting people know.

Expérience négative: Interesting to see a review from a week ago that encountered the same issue with the general manager who I guess is named Dawn regarding payment issues. Dawn, you are a bully, you bully customers into trying to do exactly what you want them to do. Your correspondence with customers is absolutely disgustingly inappropriate, and by your demeanour it’s easy to tell what type of person you probably were in your childhood. Bullying customers and yelling their banking business for the entire gym to hear is outrageous, and HR is actually investigating my complaint as we speak. If something happens to your billing at this gym, be prepared to be publicly screamed at in front of everyone regarding the matter.

Expérience fantastique: The managers here are incredible, so polite and will quickly and fairly resolve any issues. You will even see them getting down and dirty cleaning the gym with the regular staff. This gym feels like a small community and I love it!

Expérience négative: Limited equipment saturated by to many people and the music was so loud I could hear it though my noise cancelling earbuds. They also have a stupid policy of asking for your picture, as someone who struggles with body dysmorphia this was stressful. Theres also no dedicated stretching area.

Expérience fantastique: I’m giving this please five stars.The staff here are very friendly. They provide great customer service and they help you above and beyond. Most importantly, this gym is clean and neat and smells very nice. You got all facilities you may need in addition to massage chair as well as Hydro chair and an area where you can relax after heavy work out. It’s the best gym in Dartmouth hands down.

Expérience fantastique: Great staff, so friendly and professional. I’ve been to PF in the states and I love the layout of their gym. The Spa area is so clean and inviting. So spacious and bright. Multiple machines and you’re not waiting around to get a free one. Will always refer people to this gym. Love it!

Expérience positive: Good cardio equipment and machines, just missing barbells. Few stair climbers do not work. Probably 3 degrees too warm inside (~21°). Was not open New Year's Day when it should have been by 6am. Edit: Temperature was better on next visit.
