Expérience positive: This is an excellent, new, and clean location. Lots of machines and lots of space so you’re not on top of eachother. The lockers have keys in them so you don’t need to bring your own lock. Vibe has always been great in here, well lit, good music. I drive out of my way to come to this location specifically.

Expérience négative: nice place, shame about the false promises from staff and corporate harrassing. I joined just over a year ago, was offered free session with a trainer, waited to hear from trainer, nothing. Tried contacting them, always a machine. Since l was in a contract I waited until my commitment was done. Cancelled contract, instantly daily calls, texts, emails asking me not to quit, from their corporate call centre. I had to block them after repeatly telling them not to contact me. Edited, After numerous emails, still getting billed for a membership 2 months after cancelling my membership.

Expérience fantastique: Hi there, normally I am not one to write reviews, but I feel this location does warrant a review. I had previously been working out at another gym and about 1.5 years ago I checked out the local anytime fitness location in Strathmore and from the start I was impressed with the cleanliness of this location and the friendliness of this location and also the great variety of gym equipment. Dana was the first staff member that I had the privilege of dealing with and she was very honest, welcoming and gave me a great feeling about starting to workout here. After I started to workout here I came to realize how friendly the gym members are and that this is totally a family/friends oriented type gym and is also very ethnically diversified. There are also people that go out of their way to help others out such as Max, who has never hesitated to spot me or correct my techniques when I am working out and I have also seen other members talking to him as well. The cleaning staff is always there making sure that place is kept in tip top condition and are always very friendly to talk to. Out of all the gyms I have previously worked out at, this location is definitely the best one and I would like to commend the upper management for hiring such a great dynamic team. I would also like to thank Dana for being such a great person as she has taken the atmosphere here to the next level and due to this I have referred several of my own friends and family members along with clients here and many of them have switched over from their previous gyms that they used to workout at. Sorry for making this so lengthy but I wanted to make sure that I did cover everything off. Again kudos to Dana and her team, as well as upper management. Thanks Sukhy

Solid selection of equipment to use, however, I am looking forward to the new location opening to see even more options to choose from. The manager Dana, is amazing at what she does and strives to make the gym a positive atmosphere for all.

It's been a anxiety reliever to be able to know I can get to the gym at anytime of day, which is helpful with my busy life as a mom and business owner. The Newest Owner Dana is very helpful and approachable. Communication is great, keeps the gym a enjoyable place to go and workout in. The staff are great and keeping things neat and tidy, while staying pleasant. Great place to workout!!

Expérience fantastique: Decent place to workout for sure. Always clean equipment and workout areas. Staff is great. I haven't tried to cancel so I can't speak to that process. The issues the place may have I feel are out of the hands of the staff and fall more on the owner(s).

The staff are all supportive and friendly which makes it a nice place to spend some time working out. The only obstacle to me having a long-term membership is financial. I just can't convince myself to keep spending so much for a place to exercise.

Expérience négative: I signed up for a 6 month contract from April 2023 to Oct 2023. When I signed up the contract, it did not mention anywhere under the terms and conditions that I will be charged for month to month membership after the contract ended. November came I thought my membership was over but I kept seeing the charge, and was told they continued my membership (month to month) without my knowledge. My husband also has a gym membership here and he sometimes accidentally uses my key fob to get to the gym (and of course it did not work). So the month of November (where I’m still being charged, my gym key fob doesn’t work)!!!! If it wasn’t my husband accidentally uses my key fob, I wouldn’t know I’m being scam! (Being charged but can’t get in AND not aware I’m still paying after the contract ended). I talked to the rep and were told I still have to pay. Whatever I just need to get out of this. So I submitted the cancellation but they wouldn’t cancel and they keep calling and sending emails to me to make me freeze the membership (month to month). Side note: they will still charge you even tho you freeze your membership, just the duration of your term freezes, not your payment. The owner, if you are reading this, cancel my membership. Also provide the receipt as proof that I made the recent payments. Also provide more details on membership status after the contract end date.

Expérience négative: Had a open ended contract with them froze the account and still got charged a monthly fee on top of that they still charged me the upkeep fee and a monthly fee after I cancelled it and specifically asked what fees where gonna be charged still. Since I was not aware of the monthly fee I didn’t have enough money on my card and they charged me extra because it didn’t go through. Told me it was all in an email I never got. Terrible experience I will not be using them again

Expérience négative: Website states you can book a free fitness consultation which is false advertising, when I called they acted surprised and stated they don’t do that. Good luck getting someone who speaks fluent English in their customer service department. Tired of scams and lies, I will drop this gym like a rock once I move to a place with more options

Expérience négative: do not sign up for a membership if you plan to cancel at anytime, such as moving away. I have been stuck in a policy for about a year now, and have made numerous attempts to cancel but they have all been rejected. I would love to speak to the owner but have not been able to get into contact.

Expérience fantastique: Less busy than most of the city locations and the equipment is in good shape/lots of variety. Heads up, they no longer have towel service.

Expérience négative: As many people have already stated, the refuse to cancel membership even though contract is expired. I was told my membership would be canceled in January and the last payment would be at the same time. It is now MAY and I am still fighting to stop the charges and continue to be billed! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND FIND ANOTHER GYM

Expérience négative: Owner is a crook. When we signed up we were told it would be maintained, new equipment regularly and we’d get a refund for our fobs. Half the lockers missing doors, dirty, broken equipment and no new equipment in three years. I cancelled. The owner calls and tells me that he just fixed the lockers after three years. Nothings been added in years. The owner says he won’t reimburse the fob deposit as promised because he’s not responsible for what his employees say. But if you cancel he’ll offer you a cheaper rate. So might as well try if you’re going to stay.

Expérience négative: emailed about the free 7 day trial, got a confrimation number, called the strathmore anytime fitness and was told they do not offer a 7 day free trial. I asked if I could pay for the 7 day free trial was was told no. Business must be good, poor customer service.

Expérience fantastique: Professional, always clean and perfect size in my opinion. People share space and I can get all I need done. I have been attending this gym for about 4 years now. It never changes as in quality and the staff are always friendly and accommodating! I love this gym!

Expérience fantastique: Facility is clean, equipment in good working order, but what makes this gym special is the community. They have friendly employees, and some of the most genuine members. I use this gym as a bit of a sanctuary away from a crazy world. I can show up and within seconds share a smile, words of encouragement, with many of the members that use the facility.

Expérience fantastique: Brianna is fantastic. Absolutely the best manager this gym has had. Place is always clean, especially through the pandemic. Machines are generally always available when you need them. Gym is always open when you want to go.

Expérience positive: They told me if I did a review I get a free shaker cup so here goes…The weight lifting area is small but at least there is an adequate number of weights to use. If there are 5 or 6 people in the area, it is a tight space. Would like to see some plyo boxes and plate loaded chest and back machines. There are enough cable machines for a circuit and a good number of cardio equipment. There have been issues with lockers getting broken, usually later at night and doesn’t create a welcoming experience. The locker area could use a camera. It is rare to see any employees present but I haven’t needed anything and I signed up for the 24 hour option so I expect that. The place is clean and sanitized so they got that going for them which is nice.

I did try to return after they opened back up to support them, but no one was wearing a mask or even sticking to zones, absolutely zero oversight from management. The reason the gyms keep having to close are because people run business like this so I have no sympathy for the owners.

Expérience négative: Signed up for a six month membership, with no auto renew, been trying to cancel it since it expired August 2 , 2020, they continue to charge the monthly $68 dollars through aug , sept and Oct , office in strathmore said it’s a corporate issue and contact them online , online site says it’s a individual facility issue and to contact the facility in strathmore! So now they owe me for three months since my contract expired! I contacted master card now to get them to cancel all payments and start a investigation into a refund. Office was rude and unresponsive and the gentleman who contacted me from their customer retention service didn’t speak English! Go anywhere but here!!

Expérience négative: The staff are very friendly but the owners can't seem to keep anyone which indicates a problem with the owners. The gym is getting very run down....holes in the walls, rips in the equipment which becomes a breeding ground for bacteria, worn out furnishings. I'm not sure what the facility improvement fee is going for? Today there were no working TVs in the gym... curious if bills are being paid? The Bank Athletic Club is a much better managed facility it just doesn't have 24 hour access which is the only real reason to use this facility.

Expérience négative: I signed up for Anytime Fitness in 2014 as I understood they could help me dissolve my summer flap. I signed a contact that promised me I could terminate my membership whenever I pleased, possibly with a small penalty if done so before the end of a billing period. This was appealing as I have commitment issues and having the choice to spontaneously cancel made me feel safe. During my orientation I found the space cold and unwelcoming, much like a basement gym in a budget hotel. It lacked the friendly faces and moral support my previous gym provided. Every day, when Gym Time approached, I would sweat and panic at home about the upcoming dreadful experience I was about to endure until I no longer had time for my calisthenics routine. Thus my flap, neglected, became engorged to three times it's original girth and I ceased attending this gym for a period of time out of shame and dispair. I carried on paying my membership dues with the hope that one day the moon's pull might redirect my vision and might. But the moon and universe shifted through it's various phases, none much different than the last, except perhaps the few that pulled my flap lower and lower until I lost the will to go to Anytime Fitness at all. Without the tide change I had wished for and my flap larger than ever, I entered the establishment again in 2016 to admit defeat and request an end to our agreement. The asshole at the front counter cheerily agreed to end our tumultuous relationship. Maybe a fee would be charged for cancellation, but that was all, I was told. It would be done. I was soon to learn it was all an elaborate charade. The credit card charges did not cease that month or the next. They continued to plague me for years. My credit card would not cease allowing them withdraw funds on account of the contact I had signed, though a contract should no longer exist. I called ABC Financial (Anytime's billing company) and asked them to cancel. They told me to contact Anytime. I would contact Anytime and they would tell me I had to come in during hours I wasn't available. I had already taken time off work to do this once, and could not afford to be fooled like this again. My worst fear had materialized. I was trapped. Anytime Fitness slowly drained my funds and my life force, which in turn fed my voracious flap. Eventually, in 2018, ABC Financial did allow me to cancel automatic withdrawals, which lead to harassing phone calls from Anytime about how my credit card wasn't allowing them to rob me anymore. After several weeks, I had enough time available to go in and formally state my desire to cancel AGAIN. They promised they would set me free, if only I gave them my credit card information one last time, to pay their outrageous fee. I handed over their unearned cash, but not my credit card, and they unlocked my shackles. The new lightness has inspired me to run.

They didn’t freeze it and continued to charge us while we were away They were completely unresponsive for months when we tried to contact them and then upon finally giving up and cancelling the membership entirely they were completely not understanding or willing to work with us about the erroneous charges that were charged because THDY messed up They clearly don’t value their clients, we are just a numbered account and a pay check. Never again will I sign up with these crooks.

Expérience négative: cancelled my membership, two months later they start charging me again. I gave them all the proof they asked for and said it was cancelled. Now they are saying it was invalid proof. If they say it was cancelled its cancelled. WHAT A JOKE.

Expérience négative: When signing up they did not put my banking information in properly and did not inform me about it. Months later when I looked into my credit it showed this, no one from the gym phoned me but instead handed it off to an agency and still are charging me per month. They wanted me to re-sign a 18 month contract for a reduction of cost for their screw up even though I asked to just cancel the membership. No one apologized and no one seemed like they cared, just another upset client is what it feels like. They have no problem signing you up but if something goes wrong then they treat you like the plague! Good luck and buyer beware!

Expérience négative: Was in Strathmore for over a week on business, the gym in the hotel was inadequate for the level of weight lifting I am at. I found this gym online and thought it looked good enough to try out... upon arrival I was turned away at the door and told no drop ins. I travel all over western Canada and have been to quite a few different gyms and have only been to 2 including this one that won't take my money drop in or short term pass

To my surprise the door is closed like it says on the sign; closed on weekends and only open for members. It sounds strange to me to see on their website open 24/7, Anytime Fitness is not for me

Expérience négative: This place does not explain any policies or anything about their contracts when you first sign up and my girlfriend was screwed out of over 500 dollars for a gym she hasn't used in years. Shows they don't give a crap about their customers and only want your money. I suggest one of the other 2 fitness locations in the area or make the drive to Calgary.
