Expérience fantastique: Cheaper the price better the experience, They have all the equipments, and best staff to take care of.
Expérience négative: I could not go to gym since 8-9 months due to personal reasons and busy schedule. There is no option in the App to cancel the membership. I called today from my registered number to cancel the membership and they said we can’t do that on call. I said ok I’ll send you a request from my registered email. They said we don’t accept it via email. You will have to either come physically or send us mail via canada post. So funny. They are taking advantage of busy people. Ridiculous.
Expérience négative: I want to like it here. But unless you can go after 10 PM, the only exercise you'll get is in patience while waiting. Waiting. Waiting, waiting waiting for equipment. Too many memberships sold for a facility this size. Also, twenty Smith presses and one fly machine doesn't make sense.

Expérience fantastique: I have been a member over there since last year November.(just opened) All the equipment are good and new. Not far away from my home and I also can shopping after gym. So it is kind of convenient for me. By the way, I like their locker because they maintain them well. Their staff are nice and patient. My top choice for the gym in Halifax.

Expérience négative: I would rate higher, but there is American propaganda news on literally every second or third TV. If you’re going to make it impossible to not see depressing news from every angle of the gym, at least pick a few DIFFERENT news channels. I feel like CNN must be a sponsor :(

Expérience positive: Being nearly 50, having been a professional powerlifter for years - the quality of the equipment is keeping me look half my age! Not only is there an abundance of weights/machines, there aren't that many people. I've never found myself waiting for equipment. If you're a Gym Barbie looking to post pictures of themselves in their new workout clothes. Either work out, or go to GoodLife. Planet Fitness is super-friendly, and everyone actually works out!

Expérience positive: Nice FITNESS gym, excellent for new gym goers, young adults, seniors, light-moderate resistance training, not your typical bodybuilding gym or power lifting zones available. 30 min circuit zone is amazing and very useful for many beginners in gyms. Organization is top, cardio zone is huge and variety insane, clean, neat, friendly staff, recreational zone nice , 6-8 smith machines bulked together, no free Olympic barbells shows the focua on fitness/beginners level gym , lower body machines are doubled of most... great gym if it meets your goals

When we signed up, the staff informed us that we could place our membership on hold anytime. I phoned late May to put our membership on hold as we're out of town, only to learn it can only be done for medical reasons. We believe it would be helpful for other members to know this policy upfront. Additionally, we kindly request you consider allowing holds for reasons beyond medical needs, as this flexibility would enhance our experience with Planet Fitness. Expérience négative: I had a really bad experience in this gym. I am an international student and I’ve been going to this gym for three months. The third month I’ve been charged for the annual fee. Firstly, although I understand the reasons the fee has been charged, I find incredible that they did not properly informed me of this fee when I first went there to ask about the membership. I guess they took advantage of the situation considering that I’m a 17 years old (living alone in another country) and that English is obviously not my first language. I asked if I could get a refund as I had cancelled my membership and I was going to leave Canada (forever) after a few weeks. I’ve been told to contact the manager and that they would have done it. I’ve called the number I’ve been given by an employee, but apparently I ended up talking with the assistant manager and she couldn’t do anything. Then I went to talk another time in the gym and I’ve been asked for my number saying the manager would have called me back but he never did. I called the gym again a few days after and they said me the manager was in a meeting and that I would have been contacted again after an hour but of course it never happened. I called the gym another time to ask to talk with the manager; he should have contacted me but again he never did. After one month of asking I finally managed to talk to him, however nothing could have been done. Even though the prices might be convenient, the organization is very bad. Also, by reading the other comments I see I’m not the first having these issues with the management♀️ I would still like to emphasize that some of the staff is very kind and helped me a lot. However, overall my experience in this gym has been very unpleasant.

Expérience positive: I joined when they opened was good cheep like fit4less but only 1location staff was good but seems to be going down hill fast Was there last night 4 smith machines were broken so not in use no way to do a bench press or squats no answer to when the would be fixed when i was askimg the ataff member they wouldnt luft yher face out of their phone its not a bad place close to home but might have to go back to fit4less more locations

Expérience positive: As for a cheap gym it’s not bad. Since opening there’s been a lot of staff turn over which has lead to the gym being more disorganized as time goes on. The staff used to go around making sure the racks had an even amount of plates. Not anymore. But my biggest complaint would be the temperature. It is so cold in here with those big fans going , I’ve been told they must leave at least one on at all times.
Expérience positive: I’ve been going here regularly since the gym opened. As far as cheap gym goes - I like it here. However the quality of the place has gone down significantly in the last couple of months, seemingly since they had a lot of staff turn over. The bathrooms are always dirty/have no toilet paper, the black card spa facilities are always very dirty, the plates at the racks are no longer organized and there’s never ever any 45lb plates in the racks. And to top it off, the place is absolutely freezing!!! It’s so hard to get warm and stay warm, it makes workouts here so uncomfortable and I have to workout literally in layers.

Expérience positive: it's PF so hold ur cmnts on not having a bench press or squat rack - it's a beginner gym. now that we're over that: it's great! PF has everything u need and the staff is wonderful! shoutout the manager for helping me w my membership transition from the states to CA. The gym is always clean and ive never heard the lunk alarm (judgement free of even the strongest folks) . I do wish it was more spacious for abs/stretching, but im sure theyll expand and restructure as reviews and data roll in.

Expérience fantastique: Brend new and cheap gym in Halifax. Lots of different machines - everybody can make any type of trening. Staff is really nice and helpful. I met Jae my first time at the gym and I was so happy! Extremely positive and helpful person. Till now I have a better mood when I see her at front desk. 100% recommend this gym to everyone.

Expérience négative: Worst gym. I recently enrolled in this gym @ mumford professional centre and I am really disappointed. Free weights are very less, they have max 75 lbs dumbbells that's not up to the standard of renowned chain. Machines are also very less to do particularl exercise eg shoulders. When I discuss this with the staff then they told me that management is portraying this as a beginner gym and I was really appalled that a renowned gym would say something like that. A gym is supposed to be for everyone whether beginner, intermediate or advance.

Expérience négative: Subject: Urgent Concerns Regarding Membership Experience Dear [Manager ‘Dawn Drew Feb 2 2024, I hope this message finds you in good health. I am writing to share my recent experiences as a member at Planet Fitness, and I feel compelled to express my deep concerns. Upon joining the gym, I was initially informed that the monthly membership fee would be $24, plus tax. However, a week later, when I inquired about my payment schedule, I was surprised to learn about an additional payment of $60 scheduled for March 1st, along with an annual fee on March 17th. Unfortunately, the annual fee had not been communicated to me during the initial sign-up, causing a considerable shock as I had budgeted for the $24 monthly cost. When I sought clarification regarding the unexpected charges, I was informed that the information was in my contract. While I acknowledge the importance of reviewing contracts, it is common for individuals to rely on verbal communication when joining a new gym. Clear and upfront communication about all associated expenses would have been greatly appreciated. To my dismay, our conversation took an unexpected turn when I was told, "I am GETTING tired of your pushback and complaining." This statement left me feeling insulted, especially since our interactions had been minimal, and I was merely seeking clarification on the unexpected charges. Professionalism and respect in customer interactions are fundamental, and I believe that all members should be treated with courtesy when expressing concerns. Furthermore, during a subsequent visit to the gym, I encountered issues with the tanning bed. I had a distressing experience where the machine failed to turn on, leaving me in an uncomfortable situation. When I raised this concern, the front desk employee failed to address the issue adequately. Subsequently, I was humiliated in front of other customers when the manager questioned the legitimacy of my concerns and essentially accused me of dishonesty. It's important to note that the gym was recommended to me by my doctor as part of coping with the loss of my child and managing depression. Unfortunately, instead of finding solace and support, I have encountered unnecessary stressors and upfront hidden costs that were not communicated transparently. As a member of the community with a business of my own, I am genuinely taken aback by the treatment I have received. I joined the gym with the hope of finding a supportive environment, yet I have been met with insensitivity and disrespect. The lack of assistance in understanding the equipment and facilities only added to my disappointment. I implore you to address these concerns promptly and rectify the situation. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I am afraid I will have to reconsider my membership. Additionally, I am hesitant about recommending the gym to others, given my experience. I believe in the potential for improvement and hope that you will take swift and decisive action to ensure that Planet Fitness remains a positive and welcoming space for all members. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would have given my letter to planet fitness customer service but it seems they don't have a complaint location or email address. Sincerely,

Expérience positive: I would give this gym a 3-star just because they don’t have a weighing scale. They should, at least have, 1 weighing scale if not more.
Here at Planet Fitness, we recognize that the number on the scale can be deceptive. Sometimes making you feel that you’re not making progress even when you are! We don't want our PF family to ever feel discouraged so we're keeping it in the closet for now. After all, your weight is affected by far more than just your fat or muscle!

I just wish they had/I could find a T-Bar Row Landmine Attachment. It would be so good with all that open space.

Expérience positive: Staff is great ;missing some equipment. I have black card membership which involves perks that are discounts at various businesses. However the majority of the perks are only available in the US. If you are hoping for perks through this business in Canada you are out of luck with Planet Fitness unless they make an effort to allow the perks in Canada as well.

Expérience fantastique: My husband and I are Black Card members who vacationed in Halifax and used the Halifax Planet Fitness during our visit. This is a bright, fun place to work out! The gym, Black Card area, and restrooms are clean and well-kept. The staff is welcoming. I’d like to give a shout out to one particular staff member; her name is Justice. She greeted us each morning with a friendly smile. She patiently showed me how to use the new Wellness Pod. (My home Planet Fitness does not have one.) It was a neat experience. My husband and I also used the massage chairs and hydro-massage beds. This is a great workout facility. I highly recommend.
Expérience fantastique: We received a warm welcome upon entering the gym as we were exploring our options between YMCA, Planet Fitness, and Dalplex. Buchi guided us through the facility, explaining equipment usage and patiently addressing our questions. The gym is exceptionally clean and well-equipped. Trainers are available for assistance, especially for newcomers like me. We want to express our appreciation to Buchi and Jae for their help. EDIT: Two weeks later, we're thrilled with our decision to join this gym. The manager, Isaac, has been incredibly helpful, and other staff members have been friendly and prompt in assisting with any inquiries. Equipment-wise, they offer a wide variety, from cardio machines to weightlifting, so you won't have to wait your turn. The cleanliness, particularly in the restroom and locker room, has been consistently impressive. For Black Card members, I recommend trying the relaxing hydro massage with a mini screen for entertainment. Additionally, the massage chair provides a more intense experience

I asked Isaac if my brother could have a quick look around to see if he liked the gym, but we were informed that he would need to buy a membership or a day pass, even though he just wanted to explore without working out. It would be helpful if Planet Fitness offered a more flexible approach for potential members who are curious about the gym but not ready to commit."

Expérience fantastique: The gym is located behind Walmart and Sobeys. Where Walmart is on your left and Tims is on your right, continue to drive straight on Ta-17 Rd past the stop sign. Once you've gone past Walmart, Planet Fitness is on your left :) P.S. love this new gym, cheapest in town and new equipments. Smells like a brand-new car the moment you walk inside lol
