Expérience fantastique: Dog pound MMA is a very well-known dojo with a welcoming and open minded environment. It is very family oriented and a great dojo for people of all ages. They offer many different styles including but not limited to jiu-jitsu,boxing,kickboxing and mixed martial arts. I consider myself to be an adapted athlete because I'm an amputee with a prosthetic). The instructors here are willing and capable to work with someone in my position, which is a challenge for both parties. Whole environment is full of respect I highly recommend this dojo and they even offer free trials for you to feel out the environment and understand the classes.

Expérience fantastique: I have no regrets about signing up my son. The people are amazing. The environment is clean & safe. Doggpound feels like a family. Much respect to the leadership highly recommend.

Expérience négative: Basic boxing with fitness classes cost me $203 for 3 weeks, $50 one-time member fee which they don’t even tell you about until you actually show up to purchase your membership they try to slip it in without telling you at all. Very misleading practises, when you ask how much the membership is they say $150 plus tax and leave out this one-time fee on purpose. That is not a way to run an honest business, there are many other better gyms that are much cheaper, especially since here are no multiple month deals. They’re quick to take your money, but when you want to cancel they’re reluctant to acknowledge your request. Fitness classes were the only good thing, boxing coaches just let you do what you want, no technique or method is taught whatsoever. The showers don’t get cleaned, I left a small empty bottle of soap there, and it was there for good 2 weeks including my last day. Members paying such high prices at least deserve to have clean and hygienic change rooms. Canceled my membership right away, 3 weeks was enough.

Expérience négative: During the week, they messaged me to confirm my free class. Upon arrival, nobody working at the front desk. All they had to say is they were busy with someone else. Why schedule at the same time and no apology!

Expérience fantastique: I would like to thank Dog Pound MMA for setting the base for the fitness journey. Coach Terry and Coach P guidance and motivation helped us to that extra rep. Your team is super friendly and it actually feels like home. The only improvement which i see is to have morning sessions (6 am)and morning (6am)open gym. Thank you

Expérience fantastique: i’ve been a member of doggpound for two years now, and i have nothing bad to say about this place. even as a 15 year old kid taking adult jiujitsu classes, i immediately felt safe and welcome there. the students were and are still very welcoming to new students and it becomes very easy to make friends in the jiujitsu group. the current and past instructors are fantastic and i love working with them, anyone would be lucky to learn from them. as i moved on to kickboxing and mma, i joined more classes at doggpound and was being taught by master mignon for the first time. everyone agrees that he’s loud and aggressive but everyone loves his style. it’s clear that he cares about his students, building relationships with many, including me. he, along with everyone who steps foot in doggpound, treats everyone like family. as a result of training at doggpound, in my rookie season as a wrestler, i have been able to win most of my matches this season. alot of the abilities i have now, i credit towards doggpound because if they weren’t as welcoming and as good as they are? i wouldn’t be as good as i am.

He’s constantly challenged and takes a lot of inspiration, motivation and guidance from Master Mignon to better himself not only in Taekwondo but also in his school work. There’s also a lot of other experienced coaches and a strong community vibe that gives a family feel and not just another extra curricular activity.

Expérience négative: 1996 I was 16 yrs old. I was training under Donnie mignon. Here is my experience. Donnie mignon was sitting with the parents outside the training room. My name was brought up by the parents and Donnie said " who dan" and then motioned with his hands as if to say I was gay, i suffered from very bad acne as a teenager and my self esteem was low so imagine how i felt when my sensei is calling me gay! He saw that I watched the whole thing and he started laughing it off like it was a big joke. Also he stole my celebrity martial arts biography book, he said he was doing fight scenes for van Damme who was filming in Toronto. He told me he would get an autograph, I never saw the book again, he kept telling my dad and I it was in his car at the mechanic shop. Be careful with this guy he s a fake

Everyone is treated like family and receives equal care. My son, Jaiden, cherishes his time there, as it has instilled discipline and a strong work ethic in him. The gym offers an impressive variety of classes, and I mainly focused on striking and MMA, as well as strength and conditioning classes with the awesome instructors, Mr. Terry and Miss P. The owner of the gym, Master Mignon, has played a significant role in my fighting ability, pushing me to exceed my limits. Training at Doggpound became the highlight of my day, always something to look forward to. The results have been nothing short of remarkable! I've lost over 20 lbs, improved my cardio, and gained both confidence and fighting ability. Expérience négative: I need to share my family’s experience with this place. We unfortunately had an awful, completely disappointed, disrespectful experience with the owner. I’ve always had my children in martial arts classes in a different school. We moved to Brampton and therefore had to find a similar school closer to us. We went with Doggpound. We signed my child up for 6 months ( to see how he would adapt). On my child’s FIRST class, due to the lack of attention and skill in managing young children, my child broke his wrist, after being thrown down incorrectly and without any instruction from the coach. My child was out ( recovering) for 8 weeks. After that time, we gave our child more time to feel comfortable enough to go back ( he was hesitant). When my child decided that he didn’t want to go back tho this school, we agreed to enroll him elsewhere. Naturally, because he had only been there for less than one class and we had just signed a contract and they were at fault for my child breaking his wrist, we went to ask if we could have our money back. The owner asked my husband if we could come back to get our money a few months later ( they were hurting because of COVID). We agreed to come back a few months later. I want to add, that the owner also assured my husband that he was a man of morals and that of course we would get our money back. After all, we weren’t the ones who canceled our contract. My child literally got badly hurt in one of your classes, where it should and could have been prevented. We let a few months go by, and went back. This is when the owner, told us that after all of that, he WASNT giving us our money back. STAY AWAY from this place. Find another school. My daughter did martial arts for 16 years without injury at another school. Do your research. All these 5 star ratings are obviously people they know. In response to Doggpound’s reply… Allow me to fact check… Although you are right in letting me the very obvious fact that, there is indeed risk to any physical activity, allow me to establish the other very obvious fact that… if you have a new student ( who’s a 10 year old child), AND it’s their FIRST day, maybe you want to start with the basics of the art you’re “ teaching “, and not have him/her do anything where they might not know how to do and therefore get hurt. You can’t use the excuse “ oh well, there’s risk in any activity “ when you haven’t taken the necessary measures for that not to happen. If my child had been practicing any activity for months/years and then gotten hurt, then yes… you can use that excuse. Again… first day, first class and he’s was 10 years old. Also regarding the contract… it was ALWAYS about the money. The two times we came to see you, you told us to come back when “ things were better”, it was only that third and last time that you changed your tune. And that should tell whoever is reading this about your character as a business owner. Why else would you tell us to come back when things were better financially if not to refund us??? You never had any intention of paying us back, you were bidding your time to see if maybe we would back off and forget. Now that we’re calling you out on your professionalism publicly, you want to modify the situation??? If You had told us from the beginning, that there would be no refund given, we would have accepted that with no issues. This back and forth you had us do, was unprofessional and deplorable.

Expérience fantastique: Love the environment more than anything. Doggpound is a place where you learn how to be both physically and mentally stronger. Coach helps you push your limits to be a better version of yourself. My entire family trains here and we all love it.
