Expérience négative: I recently enrolled and payed 110$ for enrolment fees. Now within 20 days this gym closed due to non-payment of rent.. No notice is given to the members. Why did they enrolled new members if they could not continue the gym. This is a scam and our hard earned money should be returned.

Expérience positive: It has been almost a year since I started going to this gym. I agree with some of the reviews regarding the gym administration. What I can say is that on the day I went for my workout, there was a letter from Invictus stating that due to non-payment, they have closed this facility. They have until November 23 to remove all the equipment; otherwise, they will take and sell everything. It's sad and unfortunate for me and the people who come here for workouts.

Expérience positive: Gym equipment are good but I signed up because I train on heavy bag, unfortunately the heavy bag in this location can fall anytime , something the manager need to think about, and also not to hang it on a tripod

Expérience négative: They have so much broken stuff (dual adjustable pulley, bench, scale, etc) and it's been months. The owners here are lazy and incompetent. Feel free to fix your stuff guys instead of posting on the chalk board about the yoga sessions that only 3 people are interested in going to!

Expérience positive: There are ads in the gym, its not a free gym, why are you showing ads for revenue +Unfriendly management/customer care

Expérience négative: I've been to several Anytime Fitness gyms across Canada and this is definitely the worst one I've seen. Very dirty, dusty, bins full of piles of wipes. Carpet looks dirty, old and torn. Not enough lower body strength machines (missed at least 3 from my workout routine). If this was the first AF gym I've seen, I probably would not have signed up.

Expérience fantastique: Anytime Kanata has the best vibe of all the gyms in the west end. The staff and the owner Charles are super approachable and helpful. I love that it’s open 24/7 and on holidays, and has all the equipment I need

Expérience fantastique: I joined this gym shortly before the current owner took over. From day one Charles has done nothing but improve this place. Bringing in new cardio equipment within his first couple months of taking over. Hiring great staff that are always open to talk and spread great energy throughout the gym. Doing touch ups on things that needed attention, like the rubber platform that used to be completely destroyed. The gym has simply improved greatly since his ownership and staff. Thank you for doing such a good job AF Kanata.

After seeing the sign up saying they are closed and my friends having to scramble to cancel their credit cards or try and get any money back, I can no longer give this.place 5 stars. The owner, Charles, is a scammer. Will ignore contracts and keep charging anyways.

Charles stays engaged with his clients and members and really makes you feel at home. Kaitlin who manages the facility has upgraded equipment recently and has helped maintain a very clean and welcoming gym environment. It has all the equipment you need in a cozy space - making it easier to get a quick workout in should you chose, or a longer one with great facilities such as 2 shower units and full sized private bathrooms. 10/10

I have been a client for years and attend several times a week. Very good atmosphere with knowledgeable trainers. Never too busy with a range of equipment available. The service has always been excellent. Highly recommend the location and team at Hazeldean Anytime!!! 10/10

Expérience négative: Gym is small and not well maintained. Although, they list gym fob fees as refundable, it is actually not. You end up paying trial fees plus $ 62. Also, it lists free two sessions that was never honored. Clearly, these use deceptive marketing practices. Avoid this place!

Expérience négative: Pathetic experience.. They charged 60 dollars extra on top of Groupon even though it is mentioned that the money is refundable. Don't waste your time in this location. Extremely rude staff.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym and one of the better anytime fitness' you'll go to. Customer service is great too, my membership expired (didnt know because of the lockdowns and stuff), but Charles was nicw enough to let me workout because I would have to go to downtown to renew my membership since I got there. Wonderful experience.

Expérience négative: The owner is a money thief. Don’t go to this gym if you don’t want your money to be stolen. I payed $67 even after I cancelled my membership and didn’t go to the gym.

Expérience fantastique: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Signing up and cancelling membership was very quick and straightforward. Equipment is regularly cleaned and organized and despite the smaller size of the gym there are still quite a few weights and machines.

Expérience fantastique: Great establishment! Having been one of the few only gyms open during the pandemic was crucial for my mental health. Having been told all I would need was a doctors note to work out was nothing compared to not having the ability to work out at all. It is difficult to maintain a business during such times but this gym did it for us. I live in Barrhaven and will continue to commute to the Kanata location because of this alone. Thank you for staying open and dealing with people that do not understand the pandemic.

Expérience fantastique: Since the start of covid this owner and location has done everything they can in order to stay open within health guidelines, on top of that when ever I step into the Kanata location I feel welcomed and supported with anything and everything I need. I want to thank Charles and all the Kanata staff for being the leaders in the gym industry during the pandemic and giving people like me the opportunity to stay healthy and sane during these catastrophic times, not only would I recommend them to friends and family but I have had everyone I know change over to this owners locations. Thank you Charles and Kanata Anytime fitness for being a prime example of leadership in the fitness community!

Expérience fantastique: As a small business, they persist even while facing attack by a small force of anti mask communists who feel there is no line between government and business. Private business means choice, communism means no choice.

Expérience négative: I went in today looking to work out after a long absence. However, the kid in the office stops me and asks for a "Doctor's Note" like he was a principal in a school. He didn't invite me to sit down, like you would a client, for example, to explain the scheme. Or extend me the courtesy he should have had towards a client or an older person in my case. Instead, he seems to have been in a Covid induced self-righteous ego trip, like many businesses have been since this virus started. They would treat to poorly but still take your money, eh. Not me. I used to like to go there because you could exercise without people getting in your way. But I won't continue to give patronage to any business that has used Covid as an excuse to mistreat its customers.

Expérience négative: Overall disappointed with my experience at Anytime Fitness. I signed up for one month specifically to workout with a friend of mine that was in town. I made this clear when I signed up. At the end of the month, the staff/management said I had to pay for an extra month as this is their “cancellation policy”. The facility is decent at best. There is limited equipment and space and no real dressing room. I understand some of the other reviews stating they had issues with the management. My advice would be to spend your money elsewhere, where the facilities are cleaner, more spacious and have many more features.

I told the owner to cancel my account n they are still charging me. It's been months! Whenever I am in the area, I go in he's not there n no one else can help me. Big mistake! Don't do it.

Expérience fantastique: I cannot get enough of this place. Both staff and clientele are super friendly without being overly familiar. I work out with a personal trainer (Chris). He does all he can to commit to my schedule needs. He is very flexible when it comes to my changing requirements, adjusting the regimen when necessary to accommodate injuries (not workout related BTW) I have never seen a hint of the problems some of the negative reviews discuss. I love the 24 hr access. I'm a bit crazy and it doesn't seem to bother anyone. Wow. This place suits me to a tee.

Expérience négative: The Kanata location is the worst gym ever. They don’t follow up with phone calls and refuse to cancel my membership after countless emails and phone calls. They keep on charging me regardless of my request to cancel. I’ve learnt that the owner is known for this - he chooses to ignore you when you want to cancel. Some of their exercises machines are broken, it smells, small gym space and is a ghost town majority of the time. There’s no one around to help. Its small and there is only one unisex’s bathroom. Please do you favour don’t go...!

Expérience négative: Asked them to cancel my membership, was told I needed to come in, I’ve been in twice and both times the guy wasn’t there to do it even though I came during “staffed hours”, last time some girl took all my info and said I’d be contacted - I wasn’t. Went to the bank and put a stop payment on my account because at this point their stealing from me as my contract was only a year and it’s been much longer than that. Now they have banks calling me trying to collect more money. This place is money hungry and have the worst customer service. I’m so much happier at movati!! Don’t waste your time here.

Expérience positive: I moved here after being a GoodLife member for many years. None of the bells and whistles of GoodLife or Movati but a good gym. Good selection of equipments. There are enough stations and free weights that you don’t really waste time waiting. I am doing the same training I did at GoodLife in 20-30% less time, which is a big plus for me. There is a separate spinning room and an area for TRX/body-weight training. It feels more like a personal gym with a few known faces. None of the crazy train station crowd vibe. Bathrooms are not always well-stocked. Cleanliness varies depending on when you go there. Pricing is a little high if you are only going to this one facility. Definitely recommend checking it out if you are looking for a gym.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym for the price , I train early or when there is no traffic so can't state whether it's good or bad within the rush hour times but great for when I'm there. Its currently 8am and I've been waiting to get a quick shower in before work. I've been waiting 25 mins ... maybe we need a sign to tell members to be respectful of time. Besides that gym is great

After I cancelled my membership in writing via certified mail, according to my contract rights ( moving out of the province) they still charged me for the next month. Nobody bothers to answer any emails except the first one when they want to sign contract with you. I was forced to put a stop payment on Visa because nobody from Anytime Fitness on Hazeldean answered my numerous emails. The place seen better times. It isn’t properly cleaned a frankly a bit shady. Go somewhere else and save yourself troubles.

I have gone in no fewer than FIVE times to cancel my husband's membership and I am always told it’s done and then 3 months go by and a $49 charge comes out on my credit card! They placate you with lies and empty promises and then hope you don’t notice when they keep charging you! It’s despicable!! There are plenty of better gyms that are at least honest and don’t try to scam you out of your money!

Expérience fantastique: Great first time experience. Carling is my home gym but came here with a friend... love the layout. We went late and basically had the place to ourselves.

Expérience fantastique: I had the opportunity to do a few workouts here while on vacation from Australia. Being an anytime fitness member back home it was super convenient to find a gym while abroad. The gym is set up better than my regular gym I go to at home and has a good variety of machines and workout stations. Plus the staff are super friendly, Brian was very helpful. I would highly recommend this gym!

Expérience fantastique: I joined Anytime over a year ago for a number of advantages it has. The leadership staff and trainers all introduced themselves and took the time to ask me what would fit my short and long-term needs before signing me up. I took advantage of a coupon which they happily honored. I do a lot of commuting and the location and 24 hr access is perfect for my early schedule. The facility is maintained clean and showers were renovated within the first 6 months of my membership, looking great when completed. The gym itself is an ideal size making your workout comfortable and not feeling like a runway. I circuit train across multiple pieces of equipment, it has all the essentials and many extras in a more compact setting which makes this effective. At the times I attend, the place is not overcrowded. The other members are polite, friendly and do not over-socialize as can happen in many other places, friendly chit-chat briefly and everyone focuses on their workout. Equipment is very clean and returned for others. The house music is slightly different each day, it cant please everyone, so be sure to have some with you in case. The TV screens have a mix of sports highlights and news which works for me. Finally, a customer service big shout-out for Brian as I had a significant health issue forcing me to temporarily put aside the gym during my recovery. His assistance with my membership until my return was handled with professionalism and compassion. Chris

Expérience fantastique: Customer service at this location is impeccable! An unexpected relocation left me needing a membership cancellation. The owner was very understanding and accommodating. Further to this, the atmosphere is awesome. The staff is friendly, helpful and encouraging. I will most definitely be returning to this location when I'm back in the area.
