Expérience négative: Staff are decently nice but slightly condensing. They up sale and push for personal training even if you mention it’s not for you - the monthly scans and check ins aren’t super helpful. Overpriced for what you get. YMCA is a better deal.
Expérience fantastique: Staff are very friendly and helpful when you have questions, the coach you meet with when you join is fantastic and very knowledgeable. I enjoy going to that gym to work out as to you feel like there is no judgement and they want to see you reach your goals. I have been to one other Anytime fitness gym and the atmosphere and stuff is not good at all. When I go there I just put my earphones in my ears and do my workout so I can get out as fast as I can. I have been to that gym many times and not one staff member has even said hi to me. I no it’s not my home gym but you would think staff members would at least greet you when you come in and not sit in an office with the lights off talking to each other that’s not doing there job. So if your looking for a nice gym with no pressure to buy additional services and has staff that help I would tell you to try Anytime Fitness in Wasaga Beach it’s the first time I have got a gym membership anywhere and I am glad I choose them. Also like the change rooms and shower at both as to they are single rooms not a group change room

Expérience fantastique: I recently joined AF in Wasaga Beach and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! The staff are warm & friendly and Eric, head trainer, is AMAZING and truly knows his stuff. The gym is clean and well looked after and has a good flow.
Expérience négative: After I canceled my membership in February they continued to take money out of my account 5 times in 2 months. I would not recommend coming here is this is how past clients are treated.
Hello Kole, We have reviewed your profile and can see that you attended the club on March 18 to request to cancel your membership. At the time of purchasing your membership, the cancellation policy while still in your first year agreement would have been explained to you. On March 18 the staff again explained the cancellation policy to you and reviewed the documentation you signed outlining the remaining payments you would have left. We have not taken any additional payments that were not required. We can also see you are still in your notice period and have access to the gym. We hope you enjoy the remaining time you have access and continue to work towards achieving your goals.

Expérience négative: Asked to cancel my account multiple times, pat said he sent me the paperwork and was awaiting my response, I never received the paperwork and all attempts to follow up were met with no response. (Star added because collections agency they sent it to has great customer service) Edit: Lucas MacPhee. Naturally your suggestion would be to just pay. I asked to cancel my membership on Sept 30th and November 6th. On January 16th I was notified I owed $96.78 on my membership. I responded and said I didn't receive any cancellation paperwork and seeing as my contract would've expired Jan 25 anyways let's call it even. Collections is seeking $336.33. I'm bad at math but those numbers don't add up
Hello, Without your full name being included in your review we are unable to review your profile. Your review does have us concerned as what you are saying does not align with the processes before a client would go to collections. In order for an account to go to collections it’s must first become more then 90 days delinquent. During those 90 days a member would receive calls, texts, emails and mail from both the club and the financial company that handles accounts. All of this communication is documented by both companies and is time stamped by the system. If your account has in fact gone to collections it would not have been without multiple attempts to address it with you directly. We encourage you to reach out to the collections agency to resolve your outstanding balance. We wish you all the best with your future health and wellness.

Expérience négative: good people, terrible math. still struggling with them even after being sent to collections.. they come up with surprise fees and if you cant pay those well guess what, more fees! they don't explain that they are screwing you out of your money for stuff you can easily do at home... worst place to go if you don't want to get screwed out of your cash no matter what they say they HARDLY waive fees and only waived 50$ on the extra 1400 they claim I owe. shows how well these "waived fees" work!
Hello Nathan Farkas, After all the time, effort, patience and compassion our staff has shown you, it’s unfortunate that you feel we deserve a 2 star review. Our “math” is most definitely not “terrible”. Since July 2023, we have been trying to address your past due balance resulting from months of unsuccessful drafts due to non sufficient funds. We have kept you informed consistently about your draft dates and amounts. We have also communicated to you multiple times to inform us before hand if you would not have the funds in your account but it is documented multiple times via text and email that you have stated the funds would be available when in fact, they were not. We have also waived hundreds of dollars in service fees, which we were not required to do. Simply put, if you had communicated and been honest with us then this situation would have never spiralled out of control. I will again remind you that all communication with you and all payments are tracked by multiple systems and we have made no error in our “math”. I encourage you reach out to the club to address the delinquent balance on your account so that we can move forward in supporting you to achieve your fitness goals.
Expérience positive: Just wanted to find a good Fitness Center to help me get out of the house and motivate myself; As it's my first time at one with a membership. I usually just stick to working out at home. You can find nice people here that workout. The Fitness Center itself is ok looking could use some improvements for the most part it’s clean looking. The showers that are available and the studio space available are a plus. The gym has some older equipment and the gym can get crowded at times sometimes mostly from 5-8pm when it starts to accumulate more people from what I’ve noticed but it seems to vary on a weekly basis and all depending on days too. It can also get hot at times working out I find not enough air flow or fans circulating, plus add enough people together can feel boxed in. The coaching can be expensive. If you can, better off working out with friends or making friends at the gym to workout with.
Hello Kimberly McDonald, The response below is to your original review that you made on Dec 6th, 2023, before you have made multiple changes on later dates: We are sorry that in your very short time with us that you feel we deserve a 2 star review. First we want to address that ALL of our members get to see a coach every 4-6 weeks for support, goal setting and to answer all questions regarding health and wellness. That service is included in our memberships. If our members are looking for individual or semi private coaching we do offer those services with an additional cost. You stated that you were mislead with your contract. This is concerning as we provide you a price presentation sheet with the coaching options and it specifically outlines your down payment amount as well as your the amount of your biweekly payments. You would have then chosen a package and the next step is a full package review with you where again the down payment, biweekly payment amount and draft dates are all outlined. You then sign off on 4 individual sections of the agreement with NO fine print. Upon completing your agreement you would have immediately received a copy of your agreement outlining everything mentioned above. I can see that once you purchased coaching you scheduled and attended sessions for three weeks until your first payment was returned Non-Sufficient funds from your bank. At no point within the three weeks that you were working with our coaches did you ever express any disappointment or concerns. Our coaches very much enjoyed working with you. One of the sections that you individually signed off on with your coaching agreement is the cancellation policy. I mention this as we are very clear about a 10 day buyers remorse clause. This allows any member who feels like they made a spontaneous financial decision to cancel the agreement with no penalties and receive a refund for anything prepaid for that was not received. For the rest of your review it is clear that you are reaching for anything possible to justify a 2 star review so we will not address it and allow the rest of our members google reviews shine the light on that. Expérience négative: This location is very clean however it can only get you so far for $67.78/month and it’s not worth it. It’s by far one of the most expensive memberships I’ve come across. The location is small as well as crowded, the leg extension machine is often broken, and the cable attachments are falling apart. One of the 2 incline benches was left for months without the ability to incline. Despite the numerous surveys I filled out which I received by email and the concerns I expressed on the website, not a single person reached out to me despite my very obvious level of unhappiness. Kept my membership for as long as I did (only about a year and a half) due to the sole reason of it being the only 24/7 gym in Wasaga Beach.

As you are aware, the pandemic has resulted in supply chain interruptions for MANY businesses, ours included. Our maintenance technicians address all equipment issues as soon as possible, however there are occasions when parts need to be shipped from overseas. Expérience négative: Gym needs to maintain their fitness equipment. Cardio machines have had incline issues for the last two to three years. A better selection of cardio machines or upgraded machines are needed. There is a yearly maintenance fee we pay and to be honest I am not too sure what it is used towards. Wasaga location needs to upgrade like collingwood location.

Occasionally issues may arise with the cardio machines, however ALL the cardio do not have incline issues for any length of time. We currently offer a full selection of top of the line Precor Preva. Expérience fantastique: I'm usually in the gym at midnight. So my interaction with staff and management is completely transparent through the overall conditions of the gym. I'm happy to say eventide I walk in, the gym is nice and clean, it's not filthy or dirty by any means. The equipment is clean, and in good condition. None of it is rugged or sketchy. Easy to use as well. There's a great free app that anytime offers, that will show you how to use equipment. It is a great place, I've only started about 2 months ago, and still learning a lot. As far as I can tell the management and staff are doing a great job with maintaining the gym and I can always be rest assured that the gym is always in good condition. Great experience from my end!

Rates high compared to the equipment and gym size, crowded easily , personal trainers are great but management not helpful in my situation. Anytime save the response not interested.

Expérience négative: I have a cottage at Wasaga and intended to ask about their 7 day free pass advertised on the website. I arrived at 10am since that is when staff would be available. A man opened the door and was so rude to me, tried telling me I was wrong for arriving at that time when the door clearly stated 10am, and told me to come back later when someone was available. Waited, and then was told no staff was coming in that day. I went to the YMCA/RecPlex 5min down the street and had a great workout! I would recommend YMCA/RecPlex :)
Hello Steph, We do have regular staffed hours but like most other businesses are dealing with a staff shortage and this is why the front door has a sign stating that we are by appointment only. We are not sure who informed you that we do not have staff today as that in not true. The 7 day trial that is listed on the website also states that it is at participating clubs only. At this time we are currently not offering 7 day trials. The YMCA might be a better fit for what you are looking for. We wish you all the best with your health and fitness.

Hello Anna, We do not ask for a clients medical status. We are a health club, and our goal is to improve the health of all of our members regardless of who they are. Our system also indicates you were never a client or the prospect to be one. Clearly this review is eluding to a government mandated vaccine certification that is being implemented. Expérience fantastique: I love going to this club when I'm in town. The owner is always very nice and welcomes me in by my name. the club is always very clean and none of the equipment is broken like the other clubs in town.

Hello Lucy, Thank you for the review. Unfortunately we have no control over the parking in the plaza during busy hours. A bike rack is located near the Tim Hortons across from us. Both of these issues are the responsibility of the landlord. All our equipment is serviced regularly, with very little down time. However, due to the pandemic parts can be delayed because of shutdowns. The water dispenser is cleaned regularly, but is subject to abuse by members. Expérience négative: Since we are in the midst of a global pandemic and the staff at this gym are doing their best to keep the facility clean from the virus, I don't feel safe working out here. There are members that are walking to and from workout stations that are not wearing face coverings. I spoke to a staff member about my concern and was just told that they were abiding by the government guidelines. I wear my face covering walking in, out and around this gym (except when I'm on a station) and basically was told to keep up this practice. Would it be so hard for the owner of this gym to mandate that face coverings be worn when walking to and from workout stations?
Hello Frank Thank you for acknowledging the effort our team has put towards keeping our facility clean. We have recently been visited by a health inspector and been told that we exceed the government guidelines. Ontario has mandated that a face mask is not required while working out. We find it interesting that you don’t feel safe working out here, however you travel from Midland to frequently work out in our club. We wish you all the best with your health and fitness. The equipment is initially laid out by Anytime Fitness corporate through their experience in establishing more than 3800 locations worldwide. We have added more equipment since our inception to cater to the needs of our members and our growth. We believe we have all the necessary pieces of equipment for a well rounded workout. We are a coaching and training facility and it is our goal to educate members about the benefits of functional training. Expérience négative: 24 access is amazing, however the gym is not cleaned properly, bathrooms and showers are filthy. Gym equipment is covered in dried sweat and gym equipment is not maintained. Toilets plugged for days at a time. Both Spin bikes in studio have been broken for over 6 months, with no updates when it will be fixed. Seems the staff spend too much time on trying to recruit new members instead of taking care of the ones they all ready have.
Hello Angela. Sorry to hear about your experience when visiting our club. Our policy is that the bathrooms and showers are cleaned regularly as required to be spotless. Our full time members have mentioned how clean our club is, so this comes as a surprise to us. Our gym equipment is fully functional and is under warranty, and members have FitWipes made available to clean and sanitize all equipment after each use. We provide a plunger next to all toilets so if they are plugged members can deal with them immediately, if our staff is not available. We have been awarded Club Purple and the Top Rated Customer Service Award due to the club culture and excellent service we provide our members. Since you are not a regular member you may not have experienced this yet and we apologize. Thank you.

Expérience fantastique: Anytime Fitness Wasaga Beach is by far the best gym I have ever been a member of. The staff is phenomenal and the facility is always clean and well maintained. The staff is always ready and able to answer any questions you may have. I have been a member for almost 18 months and cannot fathom going anywhere else. Overall it is fantastic and I recommend it to anyone looking to start and maintain a healthy life.
