Whenever partnered off with someone more advanced they were very encouraging and whoever was running the class they would be encouraging and patient. Really enjoyed my time there!

Rolls were great, everyone was very friendly and I hope to join them again sometime when I'm in town. The facility was clean, and they have showers. Overall I'd highly recommend them!

The professors are excellent teachers and practitioners of Brazilian jiu jitsu, the facility is clean and bright, and the culture welcoming and inviting. My first day, no less than 10 people came up to me, introduced themselves, and had an actual conversation with me, welcoming me to the gym. Training bjj can be very intimidating when starting out, but not at Bora. Whether you are experienced or brand new to jiu jitsu I would highly recommend training with the team at Bora!

The kids programs are great. They learn technique, practice then have a fun game at the end of class. My son has gained a ton of confidence and looks forward to going. We had driven by BJJ several times and after reviewing their website, we decided to take advantage of their free trial classes for my 6 and 9 year old. The whole facility is bright and clean. All of the staff along with Coach Kyle and Coach Matt were friendly and professional. It was an easy decision to enroll my kids into classes with Bora. Both my daughter and son have a great time learning while providing them a fun, safe space to interact with other children. Expérience positive: I joined this club in late December 2022, coming from Toronto BJJ as a new blue belt. It was important to me that my new club be part of the Jiu-jitsu for Life Team, which it is. I also wanted a club that gave lots of attention to fundamentals, which it also does. This club is good for the brand new white belt just as it is for the experienced fighter. The coaches are attentive and helpful, the training brothers well-trained and welcoming. Everyone is kind and it is a great community. The facilities are spacious, clean, and well laid-out. Among my favourite things is the expected curriculum--staying with certain techniques and their sequences for two-week blocks, as opposed to doing new stuff every day. This gives you an excellent opportunity to settle in, learn, and then refine your technique before moving on in the curriculum. I see it as a sign of stability and a well-run academy. Finally, they have a pretty comprehensive and popular kids' program, and I have recently enrolled my 10-year-old daughter. Now, if they add a teens' class I'll almost be in heaven . . . .

The people are really cool with drop ins. Although they seem to work a style slightly different then what I'm used to, it's really interesting.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been training for several months now with Professor Matt McDonald and I’ve never felt physically and mentally better. Professor Matt and Professor Kyle were incredibly welcoming when I first started training which made starting a new martial art much easier and more comfortable. Bora is very clean and professional which makes it that much better. I’ve fought many injuries over the years and bjj has allowed me to find something that I can train hard at with minimal risk to more injuries. This place is awesome. It’s full of great training partners and wicked place to learn the art. If you’re thinking of trying it then just do it. You won’t be disappointed.

( Not many places do such a generous trial ) and I have to say with all honesty that I have not attended a better run Jiu Jitsu gym in my life! I was making my rounds, checking out all the local schools before making a final decision on which to choose and after one class, I was hooked. The professors are extremely knowledgeable, demonstrate the movements in a clear and precise way that is easy to understand and are very patient when you are learning them for yourself! The school has a variety of different classes for all skill levels, if you are completely new like i am, they offer multiple White Belt only classes so you can learn the basics in a safe and friendly environment with no judgement. I could not recommend this gym more! From the moment you walk in, you will feel welcomed by everyone. Nothing but positively and friendly faces here!

The gym itself is clean and has a huge kids program and the adult program in the evening was well attended. The instructor for the adult no gi class was a great teacher. I’m primarily interested in the fitness element to the training and I am very happy with everything I’ve experienced here, everyone is very friendly and helpful with all levels of experience. The intstruction is great and the flexibility of the schedule really helps with my kids since I work shifts and can’t always make set days through the week. Since I’m able to choose the days that work with my schedule my kids are able to attend classes regularly throughout the week. The instructors excellent at connecting and teaching to all ages of kids.

Update it is now March 2023 and my daughter is still at Bora and even does some coaching. With their help she has competed in some tournaments and came in first place.

Expérience fantastique: Our oldest son has struggled with focus and determination. Over the years we have worked hard to find ways in getting him more engaged and motivated but with no luck. Soccer, baseball, dance, running, swimming, and even karate. Nothing seemed to be very effective until we started with Bora BJJ. The one-on-one engagement that the kids have with their coaches is unmatched from any other activity we've participated in. Our son is happy, focused, and looks forward to every opportunity he gets to go train and learn. The coaches are so incredibly patient and even tempered (much more so than myself). It's so great watching the techniques they use to keep the kids' attention and motivate them to push beyond what they thought was capable. So, not only do we have a happy son who is becoming more focused and athletic/healthy every week, but we also have leverage in getting him to help out around the house more. "If you want to go to Bora this week then you have to make sure your room is clean every day". ;) I highly recommend Bora BJJ for children and adults. I have since started training myself and have really enjoyed the workout and camaraderie with the coaches and other members.

Expérience fantastique: I started taking classes at Bora about a month ago just to try something new/get out of my comfort zone, and to meet new people. At first I was definitely anxious and intimidated - I've never done anything like jiu-jitsu before and I didn't know what to expect. As soon as I walked in the door at Bora, I immediately felt welcomed by staff and other members which put me at ease. I had my first class with Coach Dave who helped guide me through the warm-up, and did an excellent job at explaining and demonstrating the different techniques. I appreciated the feedback, support, and encouragement that Coach Dave offered after class - it really shows that the coaches truly care for their students and want to help them succeed. I've now had the opportunity to take a class with some of the other coaches, and I do have to say the coaches are amazing! They are super helpful, patient, and understanding, and they always go above and beyond to ensure you're getting the most out of your training. The other members are awesome as well; extremely friendly, patient, supportive, and down-to-earth. Everyone is at a different point in their jiu-jitsu journey and it's amazing to have such great support and encouragement from the other members at Bora. In terms of the facility itself, it's always clean and organized - the mats are cleaned on a regular basis, the shower, changerooms and washrooms are always in perfect condition, and there's a ton of space for sitting and viewing classes. I'm definitely happy that I took a leap of faith to try jiu-jitsu at Bora because it's now something that I truly enjoy! I really enjoy watching myself improve and grow with every class I take, and it's definitely a confidence booster to celebrate those small victories. I would encourage anyone to try jiu-jitsu, especially at Bora, because Bora offers you "a home away from home" and a supportive and encouraging family full of genuine and amazing people.

The facility is clean, well maintained and very inviting. Students of all experience levels are welcoming and there is zero intimidation factor. I highly recommend Bora BJJ!

Very knowledgeable but also just good people. Location: Very nice location. Well planned out and very clean. Lots of mat space. Does not lack in anything. Membership: New gym so has a great mix of experienced and new people. If you're a new guy don't feel intimidated, just come and try it out. If you're experienced come on out, I guarantee the coaches here will challenge you and progress your jiu jitsu game. Also the champion hoodies are dropping soon, so best sign up before then.
