Expérience négative: Been a member here for many years and have recently watched this place go from bad to worse. The amount of people who have joined here is insane. The gym floor is not big at all and they have crammed all the equipment together, where it’s almost touching, to accommodate all these people. When will the owner stop and consider member satisfaction over greed? Your gym and parking lot are not set up to handle all the people you seem to want here. Doubt I’ll be staying much longer.

Expérience négative: I was looking to try their Pilates 101 class with a friend and I should preface that I’m not a member of this gym nor have I been here before. My friend was told that I would need to call to do the first booking to sign a waiver. So I called (Aug 27) and explained that I would like to sign up for Pilates 101 as it’s my first time at SVAC and provided them with a specific date (Sep 7) of the class I would like to join. I was told I would receive an email confirmation. When I checked my inbox shortly after, I received an email for a membership confirmation charging me $99. I then called again and spoke to the same person explaining again that I only wanted to do the Pilates 101 class and not interested in a membership at this time. She said she resolved the issue. Today, I showed up for the class with my friend. My friend arrived first and explained to the person at the front desk that we were both here for the Pilates class. My friend checked in first and I then gave my name and was charged $20 for what I thought was for the Pilates class. As we’re about to go through the gate, the person at the front desk asks me “are you here for the Pilates class too?” In which I responded “yes” and I pondered to myself “isnt that why you checked me in and I paid?” The person at the front desk said that she didn’t see my name on the class list and that it was already full. I then proceeded to explain the above scenario of me calling in to register and for the confusion I encountered. She apologized and offered that I could use the gym or take another class. I explained that I live across the city, arranged for childcare as I have a baby and toddler at home, and that I set aside this day and time weeks in advance so my friend and I could attend together therefore was not interested in doing any of the above she offered. I requested for my money back but she was not able to get ahold of the manager and that she didn’t have authorization to give refunds. Frankly, with all the miscommunication I’m not interested in coming back even if I did live a reasonable distance from this location. I left my name with the front desk person for her manager to contact me. Unfortunate that I wasted my time but at the very least would appreciate a refund. Update: I was contacted by Danielle at SVAC who was very apologetic for what had happened. She immediately offered to refund the amount I spent for the class as well as offering a complimentary 1 month pass to the facility. I appreciate the efforts she went through to ensure the situation was remedied

Expérience négative: It was paid for 2 months of membership. The first payment is July 8, the second is August 8. On August 9, I called to cancel the membership. Canceled. At the same time, they canceled my opportunity to visit club until September 8 . Although the payment was made!! and before September 8, I have the right to use the club

Utilizing weekly fitness sessions with Ryan and regular body scans to calculate appropriate calorie intake and track progress. Expérience fantastique: I’ve been going to SVAC for just over a month and it’s honestly the best gym I’ve ever been to. The price point is unbelievably low when you look at all the options available to you at the facility. I’m a big fan of group fitness and every class I’ve been to has kicked my butt in the best way possible. Front desk staff are amazing and so is the gym manager. It’s a gym that truly cares about their members which is so rare to see these days.

Expérience fantastique: As an outsider of St Albert, I am so happy I stumbled on this fitness gem! What an incredible facility and I mean far beyond the equipment. The environment is so welcoming from the amazing front desk team to the instructors and to the other members. As an early riser I am grateful for the morning class options and that I can book in easily with their SVAC APP There is a variety of classes to select from - Big Fan of Conrad, Tracy and Jordi’s classes and always feel encouraged from other instructors. This is an excellent crew of people who are all focused on the health and wellness for everyone. LOVE IT HERE. Absolutely worth the 40min drive 5x a week!

Creating a personal outdoor workout space, outdoor classe space, and an outdoor PT area to ensure all Covid Guidelines are followed shows their commitment to their members. Imagine having to move all of that equipment outside every morning, and inside every night...

Expérience fantastique: After 20+ years at various gyms in the Edmonton area, I can honestly say SVAC is one of the best! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming - it's a great environment for you to achieve your fitness goals. The gym is outfitted with new equipment and technology, and they're meeting and exceeding health and safety protocols due to Covid-19. All the group classes are awesome, especially Tracy's. I have followed her from other clubs because she is a great trainer and motivator, she challenges you to work hard, and she is obviously very passionate about health and fitness. Once you experience SVAC, you won't want to go anywhere else!

She’s motivating, provides modifications if you need, knowledgable and goes above and beyond every class. You’ll leave sweating and feeling your very best. I’ve had to switch to doing her workouts online because SVAC got rid of playcare but they’re equally incredible.

I have been a member of various gyms and clubs in the Edmonton area and this is by far the best experience I have had. The classes are amazing and for one reasonable price you get unlimited access to spin, yoga, circuit training, HIIT, barre, Pilates ... the list goes on and on. It would cost me double what I pay to have a month unlimited of ONE of those options. With this club, I have them all plus access to a gym with modern equipment, towels, and a nice change room. The staff are so friendly and there is a cute lounge area to grab a free beverage after working out. I never write reviews, but have been attending this gym for two months now and am so impressed that I felt I had to go online and give a positive review. You will not regret giving this place a try!

Expérience fantastique: Really wonderful birthday party we attended. My 1yr old has a lot of fun. They have a big play area with 2 climbing structures and very wide range of toys. The staff was wonderful, friendly and good with kids. Everything was very impressive. I like the layout: windows over looking play area from lounge & workout areas. It would be great to try the gym&spa while my son enjoyed the playcare section.

Expérience fantastique: As a retired personal trainer I appreciate a well run club with a friendly and helpful staff. It makes me feel right at home. The equipment is great and the facility is neat and tidy.

There is a massage chair and a sauna in the ladies change room. Both are a pleasure. There is a dining area which provides free tea or coffee. A variety of food is available for purchase. I'd recommend this gym to anyone who wants a great workout and who likes to feel pampered.

Expérience fantastique: I have been a member of SVA club for many years. I have contemplated joining other cheaper clubs and have tried them out a couple of times. What keeps me here is the very comfortable social feeling here. We all kind of know each other here. After our workout we can meet for coffee and solve life's problems and do sudoku and crosswords in the local papers provided by the club.The classes included in our membership are excellent. Expérience fantastique: I recently had the opportunity to follow a workout routine courtesy of Josh Hauptman, one of the SVAC trainers. I feel that he did a great job of putting together a simple, easy to follow start-out program for me. He offered to meet periodically with me to modify the program and review my progress, something that I said would be of value to me as I would not be using a personal trainer as a workout partner. I appreciated the way that Josh listened to my situation and suggested ways to make it a "win - win" arrangement for us both. Josh made it easy for a retired teacher, one used to giving direction and suggestions, to become the student and get his questions answered.

Expérience fantastique: I find the SVA a wonderful place to work out. Equipment is in great condition, staff are super friendly. It is a comfortable place for me to exercise (being that I am NOT an athlete or even particularly athletically inclined)

Expérience fantastique: This is always a friendly place, with lots of different work out machines, as well as free weights and weight machines. A clean, airy and open work out environment, with a nice lounge area to relax in after the workout and chat to friends and fellow club members. Steam room in the men's change room is also a great way to relax.

When I'm done my workout I'm always asked how it was. It makes me want to stick to my routine! Not something I've ever experienced from going to one of the larger gyms that are part of a chain. Expérience fantastique: Exemplary child care first drew us to Sturgeon Valley Athletic Club. I remain a member today because of the fabulous staff, clean environment and proximity to home. Towel service, shampoo and other creams and lotions are also greatly appreciated. Excellent place to get your heart rate going.

The daily programs offered by qualified staff are beneficial and helpful for the body and mind. After a work out , the lounge is a great place to have a coffee , tea etc , and visit with other members.

Expérience positive: I have been going for about a month and a half now. Friendly approachable staff every time I have been through the doors. Gym is always clean with no shortage of machines or floor space to train. I have also just introduced my 2 little ones to the child care play place. I was hesitant but got the warm fuzzy feeling leaving my kids in their hands. Overall its been great so far and I look forward to training instead of making excuses not to.

Fantastic facility, friendly staff (who know your name!), great classes and incredible instructors like Kathy G. and Kerri B. We love all the special touches like the towel service, member's lounge and access to state of the art technologies like the BodPod. The heart rate monitor system in the club is awesome! It is encouraging to see continued improvements and renovations to the club..something is always changing for the better. It is St. Albert's finest gym. Highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic facility. They do everything well. Staff are knowledgeable, welcoming and super helpful. I've had memberships at YMCA Plus, City of Edmonton Facilities, World Health Clubs, and the Riverbend Athletic Club. SVAC is my favourite place by far. The extras are amazing: Health and Fitness assessments, three different studios, massage, member lounge, playcare, and I'm sure other things I don't know about. If you're serious about your health, this is the place to go.

Now I have started attending spin classes over the winter to bring some variety into my cardio workouts. Great people, great place!
