Expérience négative: Complètement déçu par cet endroit. J’avais fait une réservation pour samedi à 20h. Vendredi soir, je me suis rendu sur place pour confirmer la réservation et l’horaire. Cependant, lorsque je suis arrivé samedi avec tous mes amis, j’ai découvert qu’ils fermaient à 20h. Qui permet de faire et de confirmer une réservation à la même heure que la fermeture du lieu ? C’est totalement irrespectueux.

Expérience fantastique: We had a fantastic experience with West-End. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly, and the coaches are excellent with young children. Our coach was not only skilled but also patient and encouraging, which made our child feel comfortable and confident in the water.

Expérience fantastique: West end cavendish is by far one of the top gyms in mtl. The fact that you can get state of the art equipment, a room with turf, and amazing staff for $28 is unheard of. I came from another gym, and i could not be happier. From the moment i walk in to the moment i leave, i feel part of a community. There is no comparison for this gym at this price!

Expérience fantastique: If this place had better locker rooms and cleaner shower area it will the best place to go to in Montreal !! People are very nice and friendly, the weight room is complete and huge, the pool is a good size (need to clean around it a bit more) parking available, and can't beat the price They need to have a monthly option or 3 months packages for people who can't commit for a full year. Everything in the basement needs to be rethought and reorganized , I won't mind paying at least 50% extra if they spent the money on the locker rooms, wet area and dungeon like corridors and doors leading to basketball and class rooms

Expérience fantastique: I Love this gym. Was nervous joining a gym after some negative experiences but came recommended by a friend. My anxiety quickly faded .. no one bothers ypu or makes you feel uncomfortable. All ages and body types go...staff is very pleasant always greets you when you walk in and tells you to have great day or night when you leave.. every part of the gym is immaculately clean and spacious .. I book training sessions with Ozzie and he is truly a great trainer. Very supportive and listens to your needs and goals and provides a great plan for your success. He pushes you but knows his clients limits.. i sleep like a baby after a training session with him and walk out feeling so good. You can tell he really cares about his clients succeeding. Great great great gym!!!!!!

Before joining, I was paying double the price for the a membership at the YMCA, which had fewer machines and was always way too packed. This is my favourite new gym.

Just some key points: 1) has everything ive used at any athletic performance gym I’ve ever been to 2) has the heavier high quality trap bar not the cheap small one. Can fit more than 4 plates on the WEC one 3) nice atmosphere lots of windows for natural light 4) great quality machines including hammer strength 5) squat platform (rare in a regular gym) 6) extremely clean facility and very welcoming staff making it an atmosphere where you’re eager to workout 7) best owner ever she’s super nice

Expérience positive: It’s a good gym, but if you would like to have a year membership be aware, they don’t allow cancellation over a month into the membership and they can’t even cancel the next year in advance… you have to call and if you forget your stuck to pay another year. To answer your respond : that’s not what they told me when i called, they told me if a month pass and I forgot about the membership, I’m stuck with it, cause as the lady said : our technology is to old we can’t keep track of every membership (not exact words, but about what she said)

The gym is clean and tidy, and i love going for a swim after my workouts and relaxing in the sauna, its great! Honestly recommend this to anybody that lives in Montreal! Not to mention the amazing price for all of the amenities that are included in the membership !

Expérience fantastique: This has been my favourite gym in the Cote-Saint-Luc/NDG area for the longest while, I love using the sauna after my workouts. They also offer basketball courts at a pretty decent price. Probably best of all is the staff being absolutely awesome and chill. Overall great atmosphere!

Expérience positive: Hahaha I used to be a member at the old location in CSL shopping center. Not a place for everyone but this iteration of the gym suits me fine. It was Good to see coach Dobri maintaining the culture and integrity of weight training. If you want to accomplish your goals related to strength, or power, or bodybuilding, or rehab you should seek him out.

I just moved to cote st Luc, and in my search for a gym I wanted something that is better quality and more diversified than other gyms around in the area, and I have happily found it. The equipments is amazing, the place is always clean, and the staff is continuously kind and courteous. Even when I need a spot members are kind to offer it without hesitation. It’s like a community in there and I always feel welcome.

Expérience fantastique: The staff is great and the gym has everything- many activities to choose from and the gym is fully equipped with high end equipment. Also you never have to wait for a machine even during peak hours because the club is huge and spacious.

Expérience négative: Gotta get with the times and upgrade their system, after all these years they still use old outdated payment systems. It’s a shame and I was very disappointed to have to leave and go sign up for another gym because this gym has potential. Also be careful in the parking lot as the pot holes are over a foot deep.

Expérience fantastique: The West End Athletic Cavendish Club is a hidden fitness gem. It’s friendly, cozy, clean and well equipped. It’s a safe workout zone for body construction or re-construction projects of all types. I mention safe because during the freak-out height of the pandemic, I was looking for a new gym because I felt mine was not taking enough precautions. The West End gym, when allowed to open, had staff cleaning machines regularly and took all the other measures which made me feel safe, which is why I changed. When I say safe, I am also referring to the varied machines (while not new) they are maintained and cleaned regularly. There are no frayed cables or belts to worry about. The machines are plentiful and there’s enough equipment redundancy that you can adjust on the fly without ruining momentum. It is not a hard core screaming pumper palace, but there is enough free weights and Olympic bars to go old school crazy if that is your thing. When I say cozy, it’s because the gym, while not small, is neither cavernous, just the right size. And while there are lots of machines, I never feel crowded, like someone is right on top of me as I’m training. When I say friendly, the staff are polite and you always get a “have a good workout,” which is nice because I can use all the help I can get. The gym member friendliness is also just right. Kindly hellos and nods, great advice on occasion, provides just enough socializing to motivate but not too much as to hinder your work out. Another bonus is you can learn plenty by watching other people work out, including the trainers. What I like most is that I feel so totally comfortable doing my own thing. I lost 40 pounds at that gym last year, (intermittent fasting had a lot to do with it), and I felt just as comfortable working out pre and post weight loss. The gym is welcoming to all body types and ages, from the ultra fit to the muscular to the just-happy–to-get-a-work-out-done types like me. If you’re considering a change of fitness venue in the New Year, consider a visit to the West End Athletic Cavendish Club to see if it’s right for you too. Have a good work out!

Expérience fantastique: I am a member and a trainer in West End Cavendish Athletic Center (former West End Gym) since 2004. Many great memories I will keep from there. There I started friendships that last until today with people who were really serious about lifting heavy iron. I made one of my heaviest Squats, Dead Lift and Rack Pulls in this gym. This is also the place where I started coaching my best students and as a result we won many companies. The atmosphere at the gym is friendly and welcoming. The management is trying to make sure that there is activity for everyone, the place to be always clean and equipment safe . I am highly satisfied with this club and would recommend it to anyone who wants to excell at sports. Dobromir Petkov

Expérience négative: This gym is not at all well taken care of. There is ALWAYS some issue with the heat or the A/C or the water or the bathroom. The staff is really rude and not honest at all. Watch how they will blame the building management for all of it! My membership is ending and I will NEVER come back here! Save yourself a bunch of headaches and go ANYWHERE BUT HERE... you've been warned :)

Expérience négative: Horrible gym, rude and dishonest staff. They state they don't "offer" a 30-day trial but it is not their choice. It is YOUR RIGHT. However the rude girl called Marge told me directly that they take 2 payments to make sure you cannot exercise your right. Furthermore it's in their contract and they fail to even understand what it means. Check the Consumer Protection Office to know your rights and recourse against gyms like this. Because they will not tell you or abide by the governing law unless it benefits them. Read your contract!! Know your rights!!

Expérience négative: Beware that you will hinder your right to a 30-day trial period by allowing them to take two payments up front. They do not understand how fitness service contracts work. You will have to contact the Consumer Protection Office to get any kind of refund or resolve disputes... The unfortunate owner, Marty, is certainly NOT a people person so good luck if you decide to go here. It's nice until it's not. Watch out for your safety on the equipment as well, it's not well maintained, as pretty as it might look in the pictures.

I’ve worked out at other, more popular gyms and I can absolutely feel the difference. You’re paying for quality and access to clean, well kept machines! I also LOVE that they have a pool and different types of classes! Definitely the best gym I’ve experienced so far!

Expérience fantastique: WEC is a great gym that flies under the radar, probably because if it's close proximity to Econofitness. It is basically the same price as Econo, but has a luxury feel to it. The place is cavernous and has numerous places to do various sports and exercises, such as aerobics, boxing heavy bags, racquetball, and an indoor jogging track that is criminally underused. I want to see the owner get a bigger crowd, but on the other hand, I like the feeling I have it all to myself. The place has reopened from the pandemic and is doing a thorough job keeping things clean and enforcing the safety protocols.

Lot's of good equipment, different rooms for many activities offered - classes, basketball, martial arts, personal training etc. Nice large locker rooms, huge walls of windows for natural light. Facility is very clean - and machines are repaired quickly (unlike many other gyms close by). Pieces are great compared to similar gyms/clubs in the part of Montreal (super cheap compared to Toronto, Ottawa etc) I tried other gyms that were cheaper and some were more expensive and i am happiest here.

Expérience positive: This gym needs to at least once a day mop the floors in the locker rooms, and urgently change the shower heads because the jet is literally painful to the skin, hence I dislike the showers and changing room but we do need a good shower after an intense workout. The shower heads are immobile and the stream is thin and strong so you feel like bullets are going into your skin. There are no stands to put your own products or towels (belongings). . I find they charge too much for what you actually get in return. The instructors are good though, especially sabrina for spinning is amazing! Many of us go there just to take her class : )
