Expérience négative: I work long days in Calgary M-F, so I liked the “anytime hours” offering of this gym. I booked a tour online (outside their normally staffed hours) and confirmed the appt 15mins prior to the tour. I wanted to see the place prior to joining… but no staff member met me at the appt time. I called the Anytime Fitness number online… the rep said there was an emergency and the staff member had to leave early. Seemed like just an excuse, but I said, “Ok, stuff happens… I’ll rebook same time next week.” The agent assured me I was booked, but when I showed up the following week, there was still no one to meet me again!” Called the number again and it became apparent that they had either not re-booked the tour or no one was showing up. Bad business practices. Online gym with no local contact or accountability.

Expérience négative: Possibly the worst company I've ever dealt with. I cancelled my membership in 2023 and I just found on my credit file that it was never cancelled and they made me pay an extra $300 to remove it. They are thieves. Look at the other reviews. It's all the same. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Expérience négative: I cancelled my membership and apparently it didn’t finish processing. Two months later I was told I owe the last two months membership fees (should be $80) even though I didn’t use the services. They tacked on a ton of ridiculous fees adding up to $250. Customer service was unhelpful, unwilling to even lower it to the $80 it should have been then they sent it to collections. Worst service ever. Do not recommend.

Expérience positive: I have an Anytime Fitness membership from the UK. I was in Canmore on holiday and decided to visit the local Anytime Fitness gym. My purple fob worked fine. The gym had all the equipment I needed. No complaints.

Expérience négative: Where to start.....Honestly, I've been apart of this Canmore location for 3 years now and I swear this place has gotten noticeably worse. First off, the bathrooms always smell of urine, the water from the shower seems to always flood the floor; not to mention hair clogging the drain. The gym "improvement fee" is a money grab because its the opposite of an improvement; there still isn't towel service, and before you come back with "since COVID we have decided to eliminate the usage of towel service." let me stop you and remind you EVERY AF gym in Calgary provides towel service ( I live in Calgary, literally 99.99%) . If you were truly concerned with infection prevention you would get rid of the hand dryers that are turned up at jet speed aiming directly into the sink so that I get a facial full of dirt hand water when I accidently trigger the sensor. The massage chair has been broken since 2022, with no foreseen future of replacement, just a note that basically says "oops sorry no parts, too bad so sad." This is the beginning of countless issues. The icing on the cake is that the membership has been increased because I was told " You go to this site frequently and we have recently increased our fees to THIS SITE SPECFICIALLY." This gym is just below standards of all AF's.

Expérience négative: While visiting Canmore for a seven-day wedding, I decided to try the local Anytime Fitness. However, with no staff present during my initial visit, I signed up for a membership by paying the $120 entry fee to access the gym and planned to contact them later to explain that I would only be using the facility for a few days before leaving the country to return home. Later that day, I spoke with a representative at the gym who reassured me that my membership would not be long-term, that I wouldn't incur additional fees, and that I was only responsible for the entry fee. A couple of weeks later, the gym charged my card for membership fees. After blocking further charges, I contacted the gym and was told I needed to fill out a form to cancel my membership. Despite explaining that I had already been assured there would be no additional fees, the representative insisted that I complete the form, failing to mention that this would trigger a 30-day notice period during which I would be charged bi-weekly fees of $40.43 each, totaling $80.86, along with a yearly maintenance fee of $26.23. Frustrated by the hidden fees and technicalities, I ended the call and, after researching similar experiences, decided to pay the fees to resolve the issue, vowing never to use Anytime Fitness again. Although my experience may be specific to this location, I believe many Anytime Fitness gyms may employ similar practices, so I wanted to share my situation to help prevent others from encountering the same difficulties. So before signing up with any Anytime Fitness gym, make sure to conduct thorough research and carefully read their agreements. These agreements are often difficult to notice or strategically placed in their app to reduce the likelihood of you reading them. Additionally, they may contain broad and vague wording that allows the gym to charge you more money even after you decide to stop using the gym, leaving you with unexpected fees despite not being able to utilize the facilities. Edit (Response to owner): That is completely incorrect. As I mentioned earlier, I immediately reached out to resolve the issue and have since submitted payment that covers all fees related to the gym, including the recently applied maintenance fee during the 30-day notice period. This payment was made to ensure the proper termination of the membership. Going forward, I recommend that you adopt a more transparent and fair approach to managing memberships by updating your agreements to eliminate misleading and predatory practices. Currently, your agreements require a 30-day notice period for cancellation, which prevents members from easily terminating their memberships and allows the gym to impose additional fees at will. Additionally, the strategically timed maintenance fees take advantage of new members, resulting in charges that can exceed $150 to cancel a membership. By revising these policies to be more straightforward and member-friendly, you can avoid exploiting individuals who are unable to use your facilities and foster a more trustworthy relationship with your clientele.

I would also like to state i have been apart of Anytime Fitness for multiple years back home and your gym was by far the worst customer service i have received. Extremely bad look on behalf of AF.

My main complaint is that there was a group of people literally yelling every part of their conversation to eachother the entire time I worked out. Obnoxious, acted like they owned the gym too. Pull your headphones out and have a conversation at an appropriate level.

Expérience négative: Edited.... Would give 0 stars. Signed up gor 1 year contract. At the time of signing I mentioned it should be for 1 year and after I will be leaving town for sime time. After 1 year period time they still grabbed my money for months. Worst customer service through phone. I called customer service for cancelling membership and they won't let cancel and the way they talk I understood what they want is just money.

Expérience négative: I'd rate ZERO stars if I could! DO NOT waste your money here. Do yourself a favour and support any of the other gyms in Canmore, where customer satisfaction and care is guaranteed, and where you're actually valued as a human being and not just a dollar sign. After deciding to cancel my membership, I was told that I have to pay for an extra full month of gym fees ($60 in my case for the month of December) as per their cancellation policy. After speaking to some dude from Timbucktoo for an hour, and then again trying through chat with someone else, nothing could be done as they "strictly adhere to their policies." A comment I received from both parties was "well, you should have read the fine print." Honestly, I guess I should have, but never in my life did I think I'd be penalized for cancelling a membership, this was never a concern. Who does this? Literally NO ONE. Just Anytime Fitness trying to get every single ounce of your money out of you. This is disgusting behaviour. I mentioned to them that if this was the case, I'd remove my billing information online - and their response was "well the collection agency will come after you, good luck." I'd also like to add that in the 'fine print' it says every single member gets charged on October 1st and April 1st, $25 each time plus tax ($50 plus tax total per year) for equipment upgrades. The Canmore gym is an absolute dive. They removed the locker doors so all you're left with are cubbies - "but don't worry, there's cameras incase someone decides to steal." Their massaging water bed (if you're into that) is always broken down, at least one bathroom is always closed due to maintenance, there are no legit change rooms, the gym equipment is falling apart... but good thing they charge us the 'equipment upgrade' fees. I've heard rumours that cancelling with AF is a nightmare but didn't believe it to be true, until I actually had to deal with it. This company is a scam. Take your gym membership elsewhere where you are valued and cared for. There are many other local gyms in Canmore where you will be appreciated and will no doubt be given the utmost amount of respect. And, will not charge you a months worth for cancelling your membership. SHAME ON YOU ANYTIME FITNESS!

Expérience négative: Worst gym in Canmore. If you’re reading this then you’ve already read about their predatory billing practices numerously cited in the other glowing reviews. And while they also decided to bill me for an extra month after canceling my gym membership, I’m not here to talk about this. Anytime Fitness Canmore, a place where change rooms don’t exist. Instead, enjoy the luxury of the couple of snug closets they offer, where you’re sure to struggle to simply turn around. Showers, you ask? They offer two shower stalls for use, one is perpetually broken, and the other doubles as a masterpiece in filth. Valuables? Leave them without a worry in the open cubbies provided and strategically placed by the front door. Because, who needs lockers in a small-town gym, right? Except this isn’t a local gym, this is a hotspot for Calgary, Edmonton, and beyond – a transient haven where you can trust every passing visitor not to snatch your belongings from the welcoming shelf. Oh, and the gym itself? Utterly average, but fear not, there's no staff in sight. Got a concern? Tough luck, because there's no one around to help you out. Call the head office, and brace yourself for a masterclass in circular conversation. There is a ton of gyms in Canmore much more worthy of your membership. Do yourself a favour and shop around before lowering your standards and committing to Canmore’s worst gym.

Expérience négative: I was thinking about getting a membership so I asked about a free trial, (since I don't sign up for gyms I haven't tried before). I was told they didn't do free trials (despite the website stating that they do) and that they didn't do day passes, wasn't even offer a tour of the gym. Ended up signing up at Athletic Evolution and would recommend everyone looking for a membership in Canmore do the same.

Expérience négative: Gym itself is great. Cool location, awesome view good equipment. Unfortunately the membership is a fiasco. I was only in town for 2 days and it cost me $200 for my wife and I to get 2 workouts in. Membership info is very vague online and you can't call and talk to anyone until 11am (which eas way too late for us). Also they charged me 2 more payments of $30 because it takes 30 days to cancel, which on a 14 day membership is a complete scam. I assumed when you do a 2 week membership the **no contract** meant you didn't get autobilled. I also assumed you got the $50 back when you returned the key fob but that's not the case either. So by the time it's all said and done it was $340 for 2 days worth of workouts and a key fob. It's unfortunate because the gym is actually good. But this little scam will keep me away from anytime fitness for the foreseeable future.

Expérience négative: I would rate it ZERO stars if possible!! Stay away from this facility or Anytime Fitness at all costs. I moved away from Canmore in February and was informed that I needed to provide proof of residence in order to cancel my memberships. I provided my new lease agreement and showed that I live in a completely different city now. Even after meeting their stated requirement to cancel, THEY FLAT OUT REFUSED and informed me they would not accommodate my request. Repeated attempts to contact customer service “managers” or “supervisors” to escalate the matter have been unsuccessful and I have since reported this company to the Better Business Bureau as well as reached out to the media to expose how terrible their customer care levels are. I myself have worked 20+ years in customer service and sales and I would say hands down this company is the absolute worst when it comes to customer service, customer care and customer satisfaction. Customers in telecom are allowed to cancel their “memberships” anytime they please and gym memberships should be no different, especially when people no longer live in the area where the facility is.

It is stated in the agreement if a member relocates to a new permanent residency more than 5 KMs from any Anytime Fitness location, the member is able to cancel a contract agreement providing a 30 days notice and early cancellation fee. After checking our records, we can see that you did provide your new address of residency, however, this location is within 5 KMs of another Anytime Fitness club which is the reason your early in-contract cancellation request was denied. Expérience négative: Gym is okay, I enjoyed working out with the mountain view. However, good luck trying to cancel your membership. I moved 3000km away and according to the contract signed, you are able to cancel in such circumstances. The receptionist at the gym didn’t want to do it, she instead show me how to make the request online. When you do that online, it’s scammers located in India taking care of your case. I tried few time to cancel now, the just keep saying it’s impossible and are threatening to send my account to collection if I don’t pay. For someone who isn’t sure to stay long term in Canmore (a lot of people), I don’t think it’s worth the risk. You’ll end up having to pay an expensive membership you don’t use anymore. There is better options out there. Update: After writing a bad review, they finally accepted all the proofs that were all refused earlier (lease cancellation, phone bill with new address and new house insurance document). Quite nice not to have their phone call at 1am anymore. I came in person to the gym to pay what was due. I asked to pay all the amount to close the account. Without me asking, the lady waived some fees which was very nice from her. I paid the amount she told me was due and I left the gym making sure again that everything was paid and in good standing. All was good until a month later....People in India started to harass me again every few days saying that I owe money if I want to continue using the gym. I cancelled that membership, I don't want to continue using the gym and I made sure to pay them before leaving the province. Would not recommend to my worst enemy, not because of the gym itself but because of the call centre abroad. You don't want all the trouble.

Expérience négative: BUYER BEWARE! OVER 35 1 STAR REVIEWS That says it all. THESE SCAMMERS WILL CONTIMUE TO CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD LONG AFTER YOU HAVE CANCELLED. When you do realize that your card is being charged, after your 6 month contact has finished, and you have told them over the phone that you will not be renewing, they will argue that the only way to cancel is to leave the province or provide cancellation in witting with 30 days notice, with a medical reason. They will not give you this information up front, they choose to wait until you have been overcharged a few times. Customer service is non existent here. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM EVER, because there are better ones in Canmore that wont scam you. SHAME on ANTYTIME FITNESS.

I am a hundred percent sure I am not the only person who came across this meticulous wrong practice but many from the community. Worst fitness center. They are frauds without you knowing or they call for any dispute they will send a collection company to you. One more thing this collection company will not call you they will directly, put a collection note on your credit score to ruin your whole life. If I have to give negative, I give a minus infinite amount of the stars. Don't go and sign up for their monthly program. Update: They are saying they have contacted me where there is no connection. First of all, I called you guys on the phone twice today, and the first thing I asked a representative to pull out the information through my phone number, and he easily took out the information twice. Every time I talk to you, this phone number, even during May month. So how in the world have you tried contacting me? Looks like you are not here for long-run business but for scams, as we can see you are arguing here. I went to your branch and paid the total amount today before you put your comment here around 1.30 pm. About the credit card, It was expired. Even the KDC collection company has not contacted me, and they put this collection on my Credit Score. Before they put anything on my credit score, they should contact me. One more funny fact they can easily see my address and my contact information on my credit. In my opinion, they knew what gonna happen, and they forgot to do the proper procedure and contact me first (lol). I can point you guys out for the malicious practice you do the whole day.

Expérience positive: Decent small/med size gym for canmore. Lots of natural lighting and good views of the mountain. Biggest complaint is its the coldest gym I have ever worked out in(sometimes 17.5 degrees)Can never get a sweat. I worked out here for 5 months.

Expérience négative: I am a member of Anytime since the organization came to Alberta. I have used a dozen gyms in the US and Alberta/Saskatchewan. Canmore's gym is dead last in the gyms I have visited. The equipment itself is adequate; however, it's tight. There are no towels, not even paper towels for patrons. That's frustrating for a guy who pushes himself. However, what really irritates me is a parking ticket for parking along a set of railway tracks (not a business but weed lined set of tracks) because apparently you have to register your plate with the business. There is no documentation on the door you need to do this. Furthermore, you can only work out for a maximum of two hours because of the parking limit. The ticket is $70. Fortunately (?) it was my first time penalty so the ticket was reduced to $30. Many of my workouts are over two hours. If you do cardio for an hour, weights after that, and then shower (assuming you bring your own towel), it's very easy to hit the two hour limit. It will cost you a few dollars per hour according to the representative at Indigo Parking. I have never had a parking problem at any urban gym in Edmonton or Calgary, but in small town Canmore, you will pay to use a mediocre facility. User beware!

Hey, We appreciate your effort in pointing out the areas of improvement in services offered at the club as it helps us to improve and be able to offer a better experience to our members. However, considering your response to the visit to the Anytime Fitness Canmore Club, we would like to explain each point you have covered above. In regards to the towel service, members are more than welcome to bring their own towels along. However, Site2Gym did decide for the health and safety of both members and employees that after the Covid-19 pandemic, we would not be bringing towel service back to our clubs. Towel service is not an amenity included in the Anytime Fitness membership, it was only offered as a complimentary feature in the past. For the sanitation of the equipment in the club, we have continued to provide single-use Fitness Wipes throughout the facility, regardless of rising costs, to ensure the most hygienic facility possible by minimizing high touch points throughout the club. Your concern in regards to the Canmore location parking situation is not one we take lightly, and we have already been taking steps with the Indigo Parking company since they have implemented paid parking to make the process as simple for our members as possible. The policies and procedures set out by Indigo are not controlled by Anytime Fitness, but rather the Town of Canmore as a town bylaw. Limited free parking registration was implemented to increase traffic flow and not to have unknown or the same vehicles parking on site all day (except staff) and, of course, make sure there is enough space for all tenants’ customers at all times. Additionally, the accusation that we do not supply any documentation showing that the parking is by registration is disheartening, as there are multiple signs in the parking lot, as well as outside the guest entrance. Anytime Fitness, as a courtesy, has installed a registration touchpad in the lobby so our members do not even need to use the outside machines. We would love to supply photos if you are unsure what signages we are mentioning. I hope this response clears up any confusion you might have had. Not only was I told to come, but I was offered a 7 day free trial, with the pass emailed to me. Upon arrival, I was told they don’t offer a free trial at their gym and I should either get a membership or leave. This is a ploy to reel people in and it is not right.

Expérience négative: Wife and I were in Canmore for a couple months and signed up for anytime, after being very clear we were only in the province for a couple months and therefore would only need the gym pass for those couple months. After we left and signed all the required paperwork to cancel I was very surprised to get a call from a collections agency stating we owed them $250, like a year later. The staff while we were there weren’t great either, unhelpful and lazy. The other gyms in Canmore may cost a couple more bucks, but I would 100% say it’s worth it.

Hey Jordan, After checking our records, I can see here that a cancellation form was filled out on July 28, 2021. Stated in your membership agreement, a 30-day notice is required to cancel a membership. We are very open and transparent about these terms. Upon filling out your cancellation form, an email was sent to the address we had on file stating "You had submitted the 30-day notice for cancellation on the July-28-2021, this will make the August-12-2021 the last payment due on your account. Please note, the final payment is required in order to cancel the membership. Failure to make the final payment will result in the membership not being cancelled." I can also see in our records, this email was last opened on August 1, 2021 which means it was delivered and opened successfully. The 30-day notice payments on this membership were not made, therefore the membership was not cancelled. I’ve been a member almost a year now, gym is always super clean and everyone respects distancing. I usually go late at night and often have the gym to myself. Wish they had a few more machines but it’s easy to find alternatives for the machines not available here. Actually one of biggest Anytime's I've been to (and I've visited a bunch all across North America and a few internationally). Lots of variety. One bummer is the town of Canmore requires paid parking in the area... not sure how hardcore they are about enforcing it ($5.25 for 24hrs, so you can hit the gym on two days with one ticket).

Expérience fantastique: Great place , 24 hours and easily access your new fob through drop box. I joined this one due to the fact the hours and it’s a measly 20 minute commute from banff. So worth it when they give you that openness. This gym is very clean well maintained and on top of things. Lots of space and good price. I signed up for this anytime when they offered the cheaper bi weekly price by email and a no charge for fob or activation. Also I’m not locked in on any basis , this is just a month to month deal I have obtained. Also FREE parking if you’re a member here. They have a tablet inside where you can enter your vehicle plate number. It’s very convenient

Expérience négative: Shifty, dishonest people. First they sent warning to all customers with false accusations. Peka style. So I canceled. Now refuse to stop billing me 2 months after the date noted on cancellation receipt even though my key won't work.

Hi Jason, We apologize that you feel that way but we're unsure of which warnings you are referring to that were sent to "all customers with false accusations." We don't see a record of any "warning" email that was sent to you. When AHS stated that masks were required in our clubs, we sent friendly reminders to members who were not complying with the mask policy only because non-compliance would result in AHS forcing our club to close. If you are referring to a tailgating/trespassing warning email, we apologize if you took offence, however, we take tailgating and trespassing very seriously. Tailgating and trespassing is theft of services, a safety issue, and very unfair to our paying members. Lastly, we do require a 30-day notice to process any cancellation request. You had submitted your cancellation request on July 10th, this meant that your final payment was due on August 2nd as this billing date fell within the 30-day notice period. From your payment history, we don't see that you were charged "2 months after the date noted on cancellation receipt." Expérience fantastique: I've recently been in canmore for work and have loved going to this location going up the stairs to the top floor is actually my favorite part they feel so motivational compared to just walking in and up to a machine like some locations are set up.

Expérience fantastique: I love this gym, they have a small but nice range of machines, cardio, weights, cable. I have never been a huge gym person, but I've been going more since I have joined this gym. They have nice bathrooms and showers, modern. Good Playlist going and we also were using it during the pandemic when open through government approval and they did a great job with safety. Cleaner than it used to be as well.

Expérience négative: Throughout covid there was a period of time that gyms were cleared to be open and they did not open. When they finally did open in the last week of March, I was charged a FULL MONTH. Then the beginning of April I was charged again for another FULL MONTH. The gyms were only open for 2.5 weeks before they shut down again and it cost me over $100. When I went to cancel, they charged me another full month plus a $40 cancelation fee, so it cost me another $100. Would not recommend to anyone. ever.

Hi Jessika, I would like to start by mentioning that our members were NOT charged during the time we were closed as we had suspended billing for the duration of the closure. All members, including yourself, who had made a payment prior to the closure and lost days due to the closure, did receive the lost time once we re-opened. The province forced our club to close from December 13, 2020 to March 2, 2021, and again from April 6, 2021 to June 10, 2021. During this time, gyms were NOT cleared to re-open for individual training. Other gyms in Alberta chose to re-open despite the order, some re-opened as "showrooms" and continued charging their members full rates. Since billing for all of our members was paused, we had no reason to remain closed longer than required as our club was losing revenue each day we were closed. After taking a look at your payment history, we see that you were charged a monthly instalment on March 20, 2021. Your next monthly instalment was not charged until June 20, 2021, AFTER you received the lost days that you had paid for in March. On April 1, 2021 you were not charged a "FULL MONTH" as you have stated in your review, April 1st is the due date of the annual $25 Club Enhancement Fee. In your case, you had closed your bank account without cancelling your membership. As a result, your June 20th payment failed. When you submitted a cancellation form on June 27, you had the previous outstanding balance from June 20, there was a late fee and service fee added as your payment had failed. You were not charged a cancellation fee, we do not charge a cancellation fee to cancel any month-to-month membership. Like most gyms, we do require a 30-day notice to cancel a membership. We are very transparent about our cancellation policy, this information is shared with you at the time of sign up, it is included in your membership agreement, on our website, on the cancellation form and in the email sent to you when you submitted your cancellation form. The 30-day notice period meant that your next payment on July 20th, as it fell within the notice period, was still due. You were also given access to our club for this time. The payment that you had made was for the June and July monthly instalments, plus a late fee and service fee. You were not charged a $40 cancellation fee, we do not have a $40 cancellation fee. Lastly, you were not charged a monthly instalment in April, April 1st is the due date for the annual $25 Club Enhancement Fee. We had previously explained the charges to you in a phone conversation, if you would like further clarification about your charges, please send us an email, [email protected] and our team will be more than happy to go over the charges with you. - Anytime Fitness Canmore

The last one was charging our card 2 days before they shut down for COVID then when we asked three months later ( still not open) to cancel our membership they tried to charge us and extra month on top of the month that they already charged. We got our credit card company to deal with it and got our money back. NEVER AGAIN.

As we have always done in the past, we paused billing for our members while we were closed as most other gyms in Alberta continued charging their members full rates. Once we re-opened, our members received ALL of their lost time before we resumed billing. As per our cancellation policy, we do require a 30-day notice. The "30-day notice" means that if your next billing date falls within the 30-day notice period, that payment is still owed and you will continue to receive access to our club for one month after the final payment. We are very transparent about our policy, it is shared with you at the time of sign up, in your membership agreement, on our website, in our Cancellation form, and in the email confirmation sent to you once you submit the Cancellation form. Expérience négative: While working out , I left my air pods pro case by the window in the middle of the gym , suddenly it disappeared. I asked everyone who was there and all denied seeing it , I searched every corner . The only hope I had is the four cameras installed there , when I asked the receptionist she said the area where the case was stolen at is a blind spot . It’s not convenient at all . Pls guys make sure to keep ur valuable things with u all the time .

Expérience négative: Subscribe only if you don't mind paying extra months after you cancel your membership. Very very poor customer service with dishonest policies. The gym is all good and staff there is also nice, but they can't help: we have to do everything on the phone and that's where it gets really frustrating.

They are still charging my card that I had to put a hold on, and now have sent my account to a collection agency. IMPOSSIBLE to talk to local manager, and the call centers that I have had over 20 calls with, are of no help at all. I have never written a Google review, but this is the worst business customer support I have ever had in my whole life. DON"T GET STUCK IN A MEMBERSHIP WITH THIS COMPANY. You Will regret it!

Hi Grant, With the first closure on March 17, 2020, there was a delay in the suspension of billing so some members were charged between March 17-April 3, 2020. We credited the owed time to each member. Billing was then suspended for the remainder of the closure and was suspended during every closure since! We received your cancellation form in October and as per the policy, we require a 30-day notice to process any cancellation. In your conversation with our team, you were informed that the final payment was due and that there was an outstanding balance from the previous month. Because you failed to clear the outstanding dues by requesting a chargeback on your credit card, the membership was not successfully cancelled. Unfortunately, after multiple failed attempts to retreive the funds, ABC sent the account to collections. We value you as a member and would like to work with you to get this resolved. Expérience négative: Do not get a membership here. The gym looks like it is high quality, but actual operations are very poor. They have provided no communication regarding their COVID operations to their members, and occasional check-in's has shown they do not enforce any mask wearing or cleanliness standards. I have been trying to cancel my membership for 6 months and they are still billing me.

Expérience négative: I canceled my membership in July as I had to move provinces and lost my job and could no longer afford to be a member. I went in and spoke with the staff and canceled my membership. It is now October and they have started to charge me again! I am not even a member anymore! I have called serval times and been nice on the phone and the staff hung up on me twice!! I would understand hanging up on me if I was rude or swearing at them but I wasn't. Truly the most UNPROFFESIONAL company! DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE! Unless you want them to steal money from you!

Expérience négative: This gym is fine as a gym. Their customer service is abysmal. I have been trying to get two simple answers from them about my membership cancellation for over a month and every time I get in touch with customer service I get half of my answer, and then they ghost me on the second half, saying they will get back to me and then never coming back with the answer. This has happened with three different customer service reps, in email, on the phone, and on the online chat. I cannot wait to never deal with them again.

Expérience négative: Do not expect users to have manners or generally recognized social facility. Locker locks do not work. You will have to bring your own. Many members do not wipe equipment after use; Ladies you are the worst. Temperature in workout area is warmer than the shower area. Toilet paper in the lavatory vanishes on weekends, (pre COVID-19). Use personal mobile phones when on the equipment and speak loudly – your caller may be a long distance away. Wear bare feet, socks, toques, ball caps, bring your luggage into the work out area and bring your bicycle indoors. Safety comes last. An incident of physical violence occurred in late February 2020. A man was assaulted on the premises. RCMP and EMS attended, a Sunday so no management present and RCMP had trouble contacting gym management using the posted emergency contact number. The assailant, a contractor to the fitness centre, fled. Potentially a racially motivated matter. Nothing reported in the newspapers. One accepts the kind of service one thinks one deserves. Caveat emptor.

Expérience négative: I was under the impression that I was paying for a 4 month student plan, but I was instead put onto the most expensive plan (6 months). Avoid at all costs, when I went in to get the free week offered on their website they said they "werent participating". Should have never signed up, but the student rate was too good to pass up. I ended up getting charged over 120$ more than I should have.

Expérience négative: The worst gym experience I have ever had. Although the gym itself is fine, the process of cancelling my membership was one of the most incredibly frustrating experiences I have ever had. I tried calling numerous times, left detailed voice messages, and emailed but had no reply. It has taken 4hrs of multiple calls and exchanges, within which I was promised a call back but was never given one, in order for me to eventually cancel my membership. Avoid Anytime Fitness at all cost; there are many other gyms you can join that will not make your life this difficult.
