Expérience négative: This is my first one star review and here’s why :- I started this gym membership in April 2024, it was a one year contract however I took the risk in the hopes that I would be consistent. Due to unforeseen reasons, I had to relocate to a different COUNTRY in November 2024 where AF is 2 hrs away from home. Because of my relocation I had to cancel membership. I first went to their website in search of an email id but did not find one. There was a form though that said fill it out and someone will contact. I filled my first form on or before 10th November, no reply. I waited 3 weeks filled my second form, no reply. Somehow I got hold of their email id and I emailed them again on Nov 29th, no reply. I couldn’t call because I din’t have a canadian number at this point and was already out of the country. My friend who goes to the same gym then tried calling, no answer. After some time he somehow was successful in contacting and they asked me to forward the email again. Forwarded the email and this was now my 6th attempt on Nov 30. The gym replied on Dec 4. Finally almost after 3 and half weeks of trying to contact them. They reminded me of their policy and said if I can give them proof of relocation they will initiate the cancellation however the cancellation has to be 30 day in advance so they will charge me that from the day THEY initiate the cancellation. And mind you, all this while trying desperately to contact the gym I am still being charged the biweekly membership fee of $27.30 thats 55$ while they decide to reply. I sent them the proof I had immediately on 5th dec and they replied on 7th dec saying they will initiate the cancellation once I paid due amount (which was probably for the month I reported with my bank CC because they were not cancelling my account even after repeated attempts) and said “ once that balance will be paid, we will cancel your account in coming 30 days as mentioned in contract terms” If someone had contacted me when I first reached out thats when the 30 day period would have started. How is this whole thing fair? This whole cancellation process has become a financial burden for me. I respect the contract but the gym has to respond on time to avoid wasting people’s money if they have such strict cancellation policies! Basically do not join it’s not worth it if for some unforeseen valid reason you do need to cancel the membership. They will make it very difficult for you to be able to reach out to them. PS:- when I joined in April I was supposed to get one month free as part of a referral programme and never got one!

Expérience fantastique: I have been working out at Anytime Fitness for 10 months now. It’s been an amazing experience!!!! The staff is so friendly and welcoming that I feel like it’s my second home now. I truly love going to the gym and being able to connect with people who support me in my fitness journey. Even when I have bad days I feel supported as everyone welcomes me with a positive energy. Anytime Fitness Kamloops has made a huge difference in my life!!! The facility is well equipped, clean and reliable. I love that it’s not a big gym but has everything I need to workout. I feel like I’m among people who have the same energy and goals as me. My trainer Steve has also made a huge impact in my training and fitness goals. I have seen amazing results not only in my body composition but also in my mindset because of my trainer. I am truly grateful to have found Anytime Fitness Kamloops!

Expérience fantastique: I left a poor review in the past while the gym was going through a bit of a rough patch, but things have drastically changed for the better. The facility is cleaned regularly, equipment is kept well maintained, and above all, staff have proven to be exceedingly receptive to feedback from their patrons. They have gone above and beyond my expectations. A big shout out to staff for all of your incredible efforts. They are very much appreciated!

Expérience négative: Upon taking their trial for one week I got a entry fob by giving them a $26 deposit which they said they will be refund me back once I return them back the FOB. Now they wont give the refund even after I return the FOB as I didn’t return the fob on that same month. But they took back the fob although.

Expérience négative: I don't like to complain about things but I've been let down by this place again and again. I had a Six month membership but after couple months I had to move my apartment. So I decided to call them to just discuss how can I cancel my membership and nobody answered it, that's understandable but I tried calling them everyday for four days and I left them voicemails, not a single response. Then I decided to walk in (During office hours of course), office was open but I could not see any employee So I just waited there for about 30 minutes and nobody Showed up, So I left. Then Finally I decided to send an email to at least freeze my account for the moment, and It took them 10 days to even respond to that email. I asked them to freeze my account for 3 Months but I started getting charged again after less than 2 and a half months. And my first charge after the freeze was 93.07 and I don't know why. All I can understand from all this is that this place is a management mess.

Expérience négative: The pervious managers kept this gym amazingly clean. Ever since the new manager took over, the machines are dirty and the floors are wet quite often. Not my favourite thing to take my shoes off to go change then have wet feet. Also, the dust and leg hair on the machines . Gross

Expérience fantastique: I was intimidated to get back to the gym as I get older. I walked in one day and and decided to commit. I spent 16 weeks with Josh Brace, one of the trainers. My entire 16 weeks was life changing for me! I love the smaller gym, it’s non judgemental and very friendly. Emma the manager is friendly and very helpful!

Expérience négative: From what I seen cleaning of equipment when you’re done with it is not a priority. I mentioned to the woman in the office about two people who just happened to be in the same area as me were NOT wiping the equipment after use. She did nothing. Totally disgusting. Recommend you come here for a better chance of catching whatever is currently going around. I have been to many different Anytime Fitness’ ( I travel a lot) and this rates the worst I have utilized. Disgusting

FAKE. -Benches are crusted up with dirt/sweat -Filthy mirrors and constantly having to look for paper towels. - interior temp 14-15 degrees in -23/30 degree Emma the new manager was of no help and comfortably cancelled my membership upon expressing concerns. Sad to see Brenda, the previous manager leave this place to a poor state.

Expérience positive: Gym was clean with a good selection of equipment. Disappointed in the shower condition at the end of my workout, water was either boiling hot or doesn’t work, towel hooks are all broken off, and body wash was empty. Seems like nobody is checking the bathroom often.

Expérience négative: Been out of this gym for over a year now and my boyfriend and I are still getting charged even after several phone calls to the gym and in person visits where we were told it wont happen again and promised our memberships were cancelled and money would be refunded. Well, money was refunded but we are still being charged..

Expérience fantastique: I came here as a guest before Christmas (unfortunately on the day restrictions were announced). The gym and owner were lovely and I do hope everything works out for the best in 2022. The only thing you can control is your health! Let's hope this is the last gym closure we ever see in BC. Vaccines are great but please make sure you put in the work to make your body healthy and fit.

Expérience négative: Was staying in Kamloops for work during spring and summer months of 2020. Had a very upsetting incident in gym during a workout in mid summer . Up to this point I enjoyed the facility and had absolutely no problem . I was approached by a very rude female gym member complaining I was not wiping down equipment and she was uncomfortable, I was however wiping down equipment and was not finished with equipment as of yet . An employee working out also confronted me as he was working out with this particular customer and a few others . I explained I was wiping down equipment and even apologized for misunderstanding. However after awhile I noticed three or four other patrons not wiping anything down after using equipment . I then brought it to employees attention who was still working out . This then brought the other patrons who he was working out with into the mix . I was verbally attacked and felt threatened at this point . Long story short it was a terrible experience and I felt singled out extremely uncomfortable with it . I do feel I was discriminated against for being an out of province patron using this location temporarily as worked seasonally in Kamloops . I wanted to write this earlier closer to when incident happened but hesitated as I needed to think this through. Bottom line , I felt intimidated and threatened and singled out . The employee there at time should and could have handled this much better , very disappointed at the so called professionalism of this facility

Expérience fantastique: It's been an year, I am training myself in Anytime Fitness Kamloops. It's the best gym in kamloops as it's open 24*7 and the crowd is always limited. Moreover, The staff is really nice and friendly who not only takes care of the clients but maintains the cleanliness in gym.

Expérience négative: The owner of the Kamloops location is refusing to pay out a former manager after closing down for COVID reasons. This goes against ALL British Columbia labour laws and is a terrible thing to do to someone in this already difficult time. SHAME SHAME SHAME - I worry about other employees getting the same treatment.

Expérience négative: I was charged a $19.95 fee after ring advised that I could put my membership on hold for an indefinite amount of time and not be charged. I have an email stating that I would not be charged yet I have been refused a refund. While the gym may be adequate, if I had known that they would try to pull a move like that I would have gone elsewhere and will in the future unless the issue is resolved

Expérience fantastique: I Like the Gym. -Super friendly staff -I like that they are 24 hours and have enough equipment for a full workout. -With COVID in mind I also appreciate that it's generally never crowded and they put the necessary precautions to make sure our workouts are safe.

Expérience négative: The gym itself is quite clean and a nice environment. I only had a membership for two months prior to the covid-19 pandemic. My membership was put on a freeze as I requested, still I was charged multiple times. They have refunded me now for the charges, I did email to cancel and with no response, they of-course charged me now that the gym is up and running. I called and got refunded. But I also was charged for a bi-annual fee of $19.99 which supposedly is for the running of the facility, maintenance and such. I had no idea that was a fee I was to pay, I felt it should have been stated more clearly when I first signed up. After only being a member for two months prior to the pandemic and then I was charged a bi-annual maintenance fee I feel like this company really is a bit shady. I wouldn’t recommend this gym, and after reading some other reviews of people canceling memberships in the past and still getting charged I will be keeping an eye on my credit card. Overall I am not impressed.

Expérience négative: While a member there my experience was ok. It was when I moved out of town and cancelled my membership is where the greasy bs games start. First couple times our fees came out and I didn't notice right away. I called multiple times-no answer or return call. I finally went in and talked to the manager. He fixed it and just chalked it up to a mistake, no harm. It went two months all good and then charged again for both members. Same song and dance. Called during business hours, again no answer, no return call. I now have to drive hours out of my way to talk to them in person once again. I feel this is a greasy maneuver to keep taking money from people.

Expérience négative: Again!! Seriously Anytime Fitness. This is the 3rd time funds have been deducted (stolen) from my account. I visited last year in September 2018, the manager assured me this was a mistake of an employee and I was completely deleted from their files. I've had enough and will file a complaint with BBB and RCMP. In my opinion this is theft and shady business practices.

Watch how they charge you if you try and quit because they will forget to close your account and try charging for several months at once, or renew your membership for no reason years later. Almost impossible to deal with the people over phone, you have to go in person just to get someone incompetent and not able to follow through...
