Dr. Anne Anderson Community Centre: Avis
Expérience positive: Place was good, not too busy but staff at front was little inattentive and not answering questions properly and not looking at you when you are asking them question.
Expérience fantastique: Kiran is one of great support staff, she helps a lot ,we need staff like her ,five star she is hero of jym ,she greets ,welcome every one.
Expérience négative: Updating my previous review. Why is this place so poorly managed? I manage the Google business page of a business, it's not that hard to update your holiday hours. Google even sends you an email to remind you to update your hours. Right now, google says it's opened, but I went there, and it was closed. Yes, I could have gone directly to your website and checked the hours, but you put your business on google, it's your responsibility to make sure the data there is accurate I'm done with this place. I won't be coming back as soon as my membership ends. --- Please turn up the music player from the Zumba classes. I can't hear it properly from where I'm lifting weights If you're here for the weights, be prepared to get disturbed by the music being played. Seriously what the hell?? I can't even hear what's coming out from my headphones because of the crap they're playing. What could be wrong with 5 or 6 people making the entire building listen to their music? Nothing right? It's completely normal? Did they pay some special membership fee? We seriously need a better gym in the south west.
Expérience négative: I had a very disappointing experience at this facility. Most of the staff were rude and unhelpful, lacking any sense of kindness. They often impose arbitrary rules that restrict access to equipment. Additionally, many machines are out of order, and there's little effort made to repair them. The staff could benefit from mandatory customer service training. Overall, I would not recommend this place.
Expérience positive: Good gym for the neighborhood. The timing is limited so not for everyone.
Expérience fantastique: Very nice facility.
Expérience négative: Horrible staff service. Me and a few other friends paid to get into the gyms to play volleyball. We asked the staff members who had just finished setting the gym up if we were able to play volleyball in gym 2. She had said yes and went on her way. After about an hour of playing volleyball, my friends and I had decided to run a game with a few other people, I'll just say about 20-30 people were playing across 2 nets. An Indian worker had decided to ruin our fun and try and kick us out. This is the same lady we asked about an hour ago if we were able to play. She kicked us out of gym 2 because it was a "safety hazard.""" Keep in mind we were keeping the ball in our area (the two nets), yet we still got kicked out. This was wild to me, but we all decided to move on. We went on to gym 1, which is a basketball/open gym, meaning that we are able to play any sport. We, of course, picked volleyball and played in a circle in the middle of the gym. We weren't getting in anyone's way and we kept to ourselves, but that same lady decides to come back to specificly us (there was another group playing right beside us) and tells us to stop playing volleyball. She said the gym was "too crowded." we've never had a problem with playing volleyball in this exact spot previous times. But of course this lady who we've never seen before targets us and tells us to stop playing. At this point, we were all fed up and decided to ask why we aren't allowed to play. We weren't given a valid reason, and she just walked off. This is a disgusting way to deal with this, and I find it difficult to understand why we were targeted. Once again, gym 1 was an open gym, which meant we could play ANY SPORT.
Expérience négative: Very rude and inconsiderate especially towards volleyball athletes. There was 30 volleyball players and we asked to set up 1 court but they made excuses to not set up nets. Instead of letting 30+ volleyball players play they decided to let 4 pickleball players play.
Expérience négative: My experiences at this rec centre have been absolutely horrible. Yesterday, me and about 15-20 other people were playing volleyball in gym 2 over the badminton nets (with permission). Shortly after, we were promptly kicked out of gym 2 by an Indian employee because they wanted to make space for pickleball. Even though there was absolutely nobody playing pickleball at the time. We then moved to gym 1. Playing volleyball in gym 1 has always went smoothly, as for my friends and I always practice in the middle of the court in order to not interfere with the basketball players. We played for awhile until the same Indian employee told us to stop playing volleyball. I do not understand why playing volleyball in an OPEN GYM was not allowed. We have been playing volleyball for months in that same exact area, but it wasn’t until yesterday that we were told to stop. The worker said that due to safety concerns, they have to shut down volleyball from being able to be played in gym 1. If you’re so concerned about safety, why not give 15-20 people a space to play volleyball in the gym? Please consider the fact that there were about 4 people playing pickleball after we had been kicked out of gym 2. If you’re going to allow 4 people to play pickleball, why not let a large group of people be able to play volleyball? The worker said that Gym 1 WAS an open gym, but they prioritize basketball. What kind of BS is that??? Why even call it an open gym when you’re not going to allow other sports to be played there? We asked to set up nets, and the worker said that the volleyball nets are broken. There are 4 volleyball nets, I doubt that they are all broken at the same time. I came to this rec centre again today with one other person to play volleyball again. We asked if volleyball nets were going to be set up today, and the employee said no. When asked why, he did not give a proper explanation as to why nets were not going to be up. What?? For a rec centre that focuses around basketball, badminton, and VOLLEYBALL, this is absolutely absurd. If you want to play volleyball at this rec centre, please reconsider.
Expérience négative: My high expectations of this rec centre is always let down when I come. Most of the staff members aren't taught how to talk to kids with respect instead of threatening them when they make a mistake. Inconsistent reasons and schedules makes it extremely difficult to enjoy my time playing volleyball at this rec centre. Their schedules are also highly ridiculous and confusing. (Keep in mind that I've took a visit every single day of the week to Dr. Anne, and when asking for nets, they always refuse and give different reasons.) My worst experience was today when me and a lot of people I know went to Anne, AND PAYED to play volleyball just for the staff lady to give inconsiderate reasons when we asked for nets. First was that their nets were broken. Broken in what way?! At least explain!!! I've seen about 2-4 volleyball nets up at once WHEN THEY ARE RENTED, ONLY WHEN RENTED. But their first excuse was that they were broken, it is a low chance that all 4 nets are broken at the same time. Second excuse was when we were playing over badminton nets (with permission), and the staff lady, specifically, told us to leave after some time because the space was now for people who play pickleball. Although, once searching the whole gym and looking for anyone who plays pickleball, we saw NONE. We then had to end up playing at Gym 1, because we were technically kicked out of Gym 2. When playing in the middle of Gym 1, which is something me and my friends often do (and have never been an issue with the staff other times before this), because there's never space for volleyball, we were again told to stop playing after some time. Her reasons were yet again incredibly inconsiderate and inconsistent. She told us we can play basketball, BUT NOT VOLLEYBALL, because the gym was getting busier and busier and safety concerns were happening. If you're so worried about safety concerns with too many people and balls, then give us volleyball people, (15-30), a place to play at!!! In their whiteboard where they say their schedule, it was said to be "Open gym @ Gym 1, Open Gym @ Gym 3 starting at 7:30 PM" but her reasons was that Gym 1 WAS open gym, but specifically, they prioritize basketball people. WHAT!!! We then checked Gym 3 and we were met with pickleball nets set up, and all the courts empty. There was many times in the day where they could've just put the volleyball nets up but instead, they gave excuses on why it couldn't be set up. If the gyms were ACTUALLY OPEN GYM, THEN WE WOULDN'T BE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PLAY. To keep it short, this wasn't everything she said today. Horrible service from most staff. But some front counter employees were sweet and very polite. Inconsistent reasons, and schedules, no respect and hospitality for certain sports, which is HIGHLY inconsiderate of them. Terrible experince at most to say. I wish I can get a refund for all the times I've payed but gained nothing in return.
Expérience positive: I hope the expansion plans include a pool, but I like the track
Expérience fantastique: Great amenities
Expérience positive: Small fitness centre, but pretty ok selection. Three gyms with a variety of equipment and courts set up for use, however two of them are connected to the school so will often be closed off during school hours or for other reasons like sports games/tournaments, or summer school classes.
Expérience fantastique: Great customer service
Expérience négative: The entire rec center was a boiling pot, the air circulation / ventilation / AC was not working on entire Saturday, cant believe no one even looked at the problem. When we went again on Sunday it wasnt working. No advance notification as well so people can not come in.
Expérience fantastique: Amazing place for badminton
Expérience fantastique: Great facility, especially for pickleball!
Expérience fantastique: Rented a gym from city was a great bookings are easy friendly staff from the city. they also set up our volleyball net unlike other city gymnasium! STAFF ARE ALL FRIENDLY here ! Thank you
Expérience fantastique: Great place to work out!
Expérience fantastique: Nice facility for Badminton
Expérience positive: 운동하기 좋은 곳
Expérience positive: Nice facility to relax and enjoy the rest of your day with your family and friends. I love this place.
Expérience fantastique: Genuinely the best staff around. Incredibly kind people. I've had a few miscommunications about different memberships and getting different information from different people, HOWEVER, the staff all truly have been very kind in trying to fix the situation. Very understanding and don't talk in a condescending way because although it's not their fault, it's also not my fault . I would be frustrated if they were condescending or anything. But not at all! Genuinely wonderful people. The gym isn't that fancy or anything, but Genuinely the staff make it a wonderful experience. Special shoutout to Crystal (I think that's her name) for being very kind and accommodating.
Expérience positive: Today is the second time my kid got his stuff stolen from here. First was his crocs, 2nd was his Nike Airforce 1. And same response with the staff was "too bad." I get that him and his friends could've kept their things in the lockers provided, but as my kid said "that's where things get stolen more." I also know that the staff can't really do anything, but saying insensitive things like "too bad" makes the situation worse. I just want to share this if you're going here to be watchful with your personal items.
Expérience fantastique: Awesome amenities
Expérience fantastique: Great school and sports facility.
Expérience positive: This is a decent recreation centre but this should’ve a pool too.
Expérience négative: Great Rec Center near my home. Staff are great yet they always throw away my drinks. As one of the rules, Drinks and Food is not permitted inside the gyms so most people leave there gatorades and soda on the tables right outside the gym. Today, I left my soda out the gym and it was 90% full of soda. I asked a staff member where it went and a janitor thru it out. This isn’t the first time this has happended and I hope the resolve this.
Expérience positive: Good gym very clean not lots of machines but definitely can make it work not busy and quite
Expérience positive: Small but enough for the workout
Expérience positive: Equipment is quite new, not very crowded except for the high school gym classes. Staff are friendly.
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful facility, well kept and clean! food is amazingly priced as well which is an added bonus!
Expérience négative: Don’t waste your money here! I live 5 mins away but never go because it is basically a high school gym that allows community members to come. In the mornings it’s fine, but after school is total chaos, sooo many teenage boys everywhere taking up every machine, all the space. It’s like going to a public high school gym like Harry Ainlay, it’s ridiculous to call this a community centre! And hardly any equipment! So silly, disappointed in the city’s design. Give the high school their own gym space and the other community members their own. It’s not fair to anyone to share it. The staff are wonderful though!!
Expérience positive: they have pretty good badminton and basketball courts but whenever I go there it gets hot very quick in the badminton side
Expérience positive: Nothing for small kids. Major part of Gym is closed most of time for high school functions
Expérience négative: Edit. The connection to the school makes it almost impossible to go during the day. They are closed to the public from 12:30 til 3 and during the morning it is over run with students (including phys-ed classes) with no gym ediquite. During off Not bad, he's a little bit more weight equipment to be considered a great gym but for quick workouts it's worth it.
Expérience fantastique: Everything was great but the balls were not that great
Expérience négative: The staff doesn't monitor what’s going on upstairs so you will find little kids running around without supervision. A lot of the patrons lack normal gym etiquette since no rules are enforced (people occupying benches for 20 minutes and just texting, kids bringing in food, people using the speakers on their phone to talk or play music instead of using headphones.) The front desk staff is friendly though and the gym is clean.
Expérience fantastique: after adding many new machines, it's a perfect and clean place to have a complete workout .
Expérience négative: They didn’t give me a refund
Expérience fantastique: its a descent gym people here are friendly. Though quite a lot people.
Expérience négative: I was very excited that we were going to get a City gym in this area of town, it’s bike and walking distance for me. But boy has it gone downhill. I can handle that it’s smaller than most and lacks equipment so I try and avoid busy times . But what is very frustrating is the inconsistent staff supervision on the top level. When my son wanted to start working out we paid for the Youth in Motion course for him to access the machines with proper knowledge. There used to be a staff that would supervise that area when she saw a younger youth using the equipment which was fantastic as it ensured equipment was being used properly. In the last few months no staff supervise anymore and I constantly see parents in tow with their younger school age kids misusing the equipment. The parents are working out and the machines are entertaining their kids. Weights are being dropped not to mention the misuse of them will wear on machines and how does no one care kids can get hurt on these? You would never get to bring your child to a regular gym, so how are you allowed to check in at the desk with your child here?? My biggest issue however is the track. Initially it looked like a wonderful layout for it to wrap and overlook the gyms below. But so very few people know how to use the track properly and others just dont seem to care at all! There are a couple signs to tell people slower traffic keeps right, fast traffic on left etc . Almost no one follows this. Groups of walkers walk along all 3 lanes so they can chat, people cross without looking out first for actual runners and if they do see you, there’s no respect to give runners the right of way. People constantly walking across the track grain texting with no care as to what’s going on on the track! Yesterday there was a woman who laid out a yoga mat to stretch right on the 3 rd lane!!! Just complete cluelessness!! If it’s just being a gym newbie that’s understandable but that’s where I think staff should come in and supervise that area and correct those that are making downright dangerous mistakes. I’m training for races right now and had to buy a membership when the smoke started. It’s so frustrating running on this track as I constantly have to dodge people that aren’t using the lanes properly , or those that see me coming full speed and expect me to get out of the way. I once was doing some speed training and almost tripped over a little girl that was skipping along the track beside her mom that was walking it on the fast lane. It’s only matter of time before I will run into someone and cause an injury to myself. I will not renew my membership or will have drive to Terwillegar where they run a much tighter ship!! This gym is not for everyone, it’s great for youth that want to come in and use the gyms but the rest lacks quality and supervision
Expérience positive: I like the facility and staff there but I do not like all the time for badminton has been booked by a private trainer. We do not have much time to have some fun together with family and friends
Expérience négative: tiny gym , tiny library in this high density area. City of Edmonton shame on you.. if u have an eyes and brain , just look around how many apartments are built surrounding this area and nothing to do here. high population next generation here. what a joke..
Expérience fantastique: Perfect experience good staff and equipment
Expérience fantastique: Nice place for workout
Expérience positive: Has a great 200 meter track and fitness center. Great basketball court, only thing that could be a problem is that some of the basketballs are bad, and some rackets are a bit deformed aswell as sometimes the court gets cut in half for different activities which could get crowded. Still, it's a great area and the crowed problems do not happen often
Expérience positive: Beautiful and clean. The ONLY downside is NO SWIMMING POOL. ☹️
Expérience positive: The rec itself is amazing it has a lot of activities available and the gym is nice, however the reason i didn't made it a 5 star is because the gym is quite small and there are limited machines.. i hope that they add more machines like lat pulldowns, t-bars, and much more! Other than the gym everything is great the staff are really nice and understanding the place is very clean too.
Expérience positive: The zumba class on Tuesday was the main attraction for me. Fun class! The gym has a race track upstairs to help you get your steps in each time. Dropping 1 star because the facility doesn't have a pool.
Expérience négative: I want to give zero star to the building. What a waste to make this community centre, not enough work out equipment....(10 cardio machine only) New gym but not up to date.
Expérience fantastique: Very conveniently located in the south for exercise classes. Love it! I go there regularly.
Expérience fantastique: gym opens at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekend. I am an early bird and i live across the gym. So it is worth the membership for me.
Expérience positive: Lots of room for basketball and badminton. Not a big area for free weights and some machines around the track. They have sleds, medicine balls, kettle bells and TRX in another area which is fair size with turf for the sled. Best way to describe this rec center is to call it a satellite location. Not as big as the main rec centers but good enough. Make sure you bring a lock as lockers are free, but don't have the electric combinations like bigger centers. The staff at the front were great as well.
Expérience fantastique: Nice new place
Expérience fantastique: Clean and new! This location has no pool or hot tub/ sauna. There is a running track that is pretty cool. Kinda like the Saville but nicer. Lots of natural light unlike the Harry Ainlay Penitentiary. Has a giant wood beams it looked to be supporting the ceiling which is reminiscent of old Scandinavian architecture. With a name Like Anderson it fits well!
Expérience négative: EDIT: Just wanted to add: I agree with most others who stated this CoE gym lacks proper workout machines as a city owned facility. I just also wanted to highlight what most others did not mention; about 300 high school children running rampant throughout the gym at almost all times. Be careful not to go around student lunch times and after school (>3PM). You cannot even walk without bumping into kids from the school next door. And it's next to impossible to get a workout in because you have 15 kids on one machine or using dumbbells. Decent gym if you don't have a day job, or do shift work and can go around 6am-10am, or 8pm-10pm. I will update my post with pictures (adhering to all privacy laws, of course) to show the anarchy around the unspecified times.
Expérience positive: Very clean gym and fitness centre. No major complaints. It could be make better is it had some more muscle building equipments.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent facility. Pickleball is competitive and friendly
Expérience positive: this place is expensive and not good for little kids only good for teenagers.
Expérience positive: All the employees here are great. The equipment and facility is beautiful and new and it would be great if not for the overwhelming amount of high school students in the fitness facility. I am happy that a high has access to such a great fitness facility but it's hard to justify having to pay to use it when most of the time there is not enough room to workout. The walking track is great and the gymnasium serves the community well. There is also a great turf on the first floor with more workout equipment.
Expérience négative: below average city of Edmonton gym. Got squat racks and free weights and a few machines. Honestly it would be such a better gym if they got a proper cable machine for lay pull downs and cable rows, also a plate loaded leg press. Workout wise might be the worst gym in southside Edmonton but a few upgrades to being a good gym. Sports wise it’s excellent plenty of space for basketball, volleyball, badminton, or anything else you’d like to play, whenever the school isn’t using the other 2 gyms. Overal the city did a mediocre job at best.
Expérience positive: Limited equipment. Badminton and volleyball courts rarely available. Small size too many people
Expérience positive: Good and clean set up, only downside is that they have no swimming pool.
Expérience négative: I find it odd how countless amounts of people get things stolen from here and the staff is unable to check their own cameras? Would be a lot easier and solve a lot more cases of theft if they could actually check the cameras so you know who took your belongings. Something needs to be changed about that and improved for sure because without that, people will continue to get their items stolen. Everything about is this rec centre is amazing but the theft issue really needs to be resolved and the staff should have access to cameras.
Expérience positive: It's pretty chill, the staff are real cool and there is so many activities going on there
Expérience positive: A place to exceed and grow.
Expérience fantastique: My kid loves it there. One of the better facilities for bball
Expérience négative: The most dysfunctional facility I have ever seen compared to the older centers. Being brand new it only looks new but with no substance. No keyed or combination lockers, have to bring your own locks, had to put my stuff in my car. Washrooms combined with lockers are located practically in the middle of the basketball court where going to the washroom may disrupt a basketball game or get hit with the ball or crash into a player. They only had a one person washroom outside of the basketball courts. Limited excercise equipment and they are very outdated, figure that...old equipment in a brand new facility lol. Also, connected to a high school where students are using for physical education classes doesn't mesh with regular members working out during school hours is uncomfortable. It was quite the experience to witness. Won't be going there again eventhough I live near by.
Expérience fantastique: It is very nice, clean and well organized facility. Always feel welcomed to come here.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent facility. It may not be as big as some of the other new rec centres, but the amenities are excellent. It has never been busy at the times I have visited, although during the school year you will find that the students of the attached school do make use of the facility as well -- during gym class, in spares, during lunch, etc. I've only made use of the gymnasium, having visited there on numerous occasions to play basketball. I usually take my own basketball, but there is almost always a rack full of basketballs that can be borrowed. There is a good amount of natural light thanks to the windows on two of the four walls of the gym. It makes a nice difference and is unique as far as gyms go. The locker room is large and clean, and there are several bathrooms that are also kept clean. I have taken a tour of the gym upstairs and done a lap on the track upstairs as well as and both were good quality and not busy. I've never seen this site busy. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it's easily my favorite gymnasium. The entrance is strangely nondescript, though. The first time I visited I was headed towards the school entrance until someone corrected me.
Expérience négative: Bought a summer pass for child to play badminton for August. However the entire gym is closed for badminton in the month of Aug 2022. No notification while purchasing pass nor there is a refund or notification of anything included
Expérience négative: Yelling at kids and threatening them with police force because you are incapable of teaching your staff how to communicate with children properly is downright embarrassing, especially for a service provider that is linked to the City Of Edmonton. While some staff members, like John, their custodial services and a few front desk employees, do their best to ensure the kids are looked after in a positive manner, I would advise parents to remain concerned if their children are in the presence of most other staff members. Additionally, we had to move our athletic development program to a different facility due to a lack of respect for the booked times, poor communication efforts, PREJUDICE, and failure to conduct adequate investigations despite the presence of over eight cameras in the gym. If this can not be done for a paid program, then to what degree would they act to protect their reputation rather than your kid?
Expérience négative: No pool
Expérience négative: The staff was so unfriendly to me and my friends, and last time we brought some energy drink for energy, they said it's not allowed and poured it all out, and I saw a rule saying "no drinks allowed except water and energy drink" plus other students that were Anne anderson were drinking the same drink as us and they said nothing. The only good thing is I can still go with my friends.
Expérience fantastique: Nearest location to be and to remain healthy.
Expérience positive: Great Rec center.
Expérience fantastique: Beautiful facility! Gyms are clean, and bright and staff is friendly. There's also lots of parking which is one less thing to worry about when scrambling to practices.
Expérience positive: it isn't too bad it's just that some of the staff are rude but it's pretty fun when you go with friends
Expérience positive: Nice and clean but it's very small gym
Expérience fantastique: Great track for running, never too busy.
Expérience positive: Lack of equipment and way too many bikes. Staff are okay
Expérience positive: One of Edmonton's newer rec centres located in the SW. The gym is a lot smaller than most other rec centres and it can get busy and crowded with the school next door. It also features some courts below which can be used for basketball, badminton, etc.
Expérience négative: It’s not a family friendIy community centre. There’s nothing much in the place but horrible staff. I hope the city would at least assign staff there who are nice and knowledgeable. There’s a staff there named ADRIENNE who’s so rude, obviously not fit for the job. Not sure if the city had no choice for putting someone like her in a community centre.
Expérience fantastique: From my home closed centre I like that place
Expérience fantastique: Awesome facility
Expérience fantastique: Facilty was nice and clean and staff was friendly. Went for a workout and some badminton afterwards, there was 4 courts open and everyone there was courteous of eachothers space. The workout facility was nothing spectacular in terms of equipment but definitely had enough for everyone that was there at at time - a really nice running track too. It is in a very convenient spot for those living in the Heritage valley area. I'd definitively reccomend taking a look at their website for the different classes and drop-in sports they host!
Expérience fantastique: Lots of room for playing basketball and badminton. For sure lack of equipment selections. It depends on what you need. Gender-neutral change rooms & washroom. 2nd-floor balcony Free lockers but bring your lock Cafeteria on site but zero information about opening hours
Expérience positive: If you want to do sports like badminton, basketball, or something like that, it's good, but there is nothing special to this gym.
Expérience négative: Poorly trained staff with extremely rude attitude.
Expérience négative: I would like to give -5 stars,
Expérience négative: I am not the one to give bad reviews and I wish I could give 0 stars to this place.. the staff are so rude and didn’t provide correct information if little ones can be allowed in or not and to hear that we had to leave was the only option?? Some staff feel like they own this place and don't take a minute to make you feel why you stepped in here in the first place. Just be humble and realize and it's for people from all walks of life - not just the ones who look like you. Are you using your EDI training or you didn't get one? Built in the center of young and growing communities and then to have a non-family friendly policy - what a joke! Waste of taxpayers money, poor design and poor public policy. The fact that half your visitors fall under 3 or below on satisfaction level indicates that it’s time to close this down for public. Southwest communities deserve better!!
Expérience négative: This City of Edmonton Rec centre at Anne Anderson school is a joke really - very poorly managed and highly disorganized to say the least. Dropped my kid there to play with her friend and then they kicked them out after 1 hour of playing and let others play in the same court - what non-sense is this?? They did not provide any alternate gym either after collecting CAD9.25 for the day. The receptionist does not provide any accurate info regarding this (only good at checking COVID QR codes ...) either NOR do they bother to update their website with correct information e.g. gym closures, maintenance activities etc. - city of Edmonton at least train your staff with basic communication to provide closure info to parents/customers. This is very POOR services by the City of Edmonton!
Expérience négative: Small gym, no equipment, barely any space for workout, only thing here is a basketball court, If your considering going here for gym don’t its basically just a school not made for a rec centre
Expérience fantastique: This is a first class rec center with wonderful exercise classes
Expérience négative: No pool but they charge high - besides they will kick you out even at minus 35c -
Expérience positive: Fitness centre is actually pretty good
Expérience négative: Rec centre is sub par, only has a handful of workout machines, similar to a hotel gym. Lot of exercise bikes tho. Gym was a total let down for a brand new City Rec Center. Front desk staff here is not that experienced and efficient since they all are apparently new hires according to Terwillegar staff. Badminton courts cannot be reserved and it's an honour system (you play 2 games and pass the court to next in line waiting) but people constantly abuse it and don't rotate....
Expérience positive: It is good to have rec center near by your home, and I am lucky to have it specially not fan of winter driving. I would have given 5 stars but didn't like the setup of the gym equipment. It should be proper arrangement. Also everything is control by school in case if you want to use court for other sports.
Expérience fantastique: I go to this gym because of how close it is to my home. I love it here. It’s quiet, clean and perfect for a person who doesn’t really like people. Terwillager rec center is also great as it has a gym, sauna, pool etc. But ultimately I felt like I was way less likely to get weird foot fungus or infection here because it’s really clean. I wish they had lockers that lock, but when there’s only 3 people working out, I’m not terribly concerned about someone stealing anything. There also is no change rooms. So wear your sweats.
