Expérience fantastique: This was my first experience at a hot yoga class. Felt very welcomed by the staff and the class led by Ken was easy to follow as a beginner. I appreciated that he catered to all levels & was very encouraging. The class felt relaxing yet challenging, I enjoyed my time there!

Expérience fantastique: I’ve never done yoga before, and certainly not hot yoga. It was a brand-new experience. It was challenging, despite me doing all the beginner movements. However, the movements and stretches felt great in the heat as I settled into each move. Ken was a great teacher, the pacing was perfect for a beginner like me and I’m inspired to work on some of these moves at home! Also, Calum welcomed us in and we had a great reception experience. I’ve never sweated so much in my life.

Expérience fantastique: I really can’t recommend Hot Yoga Markham enough. I was suffering for months with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome on my right side and sleep issues. I hadn’t been able to sleep well for months and one of my friends recommended I try yoga. I was honestly super skeptical that it would help in the slightest but I was so desperate for a solution I decided to give it a try. To my surprise all of the classes and the instructors are phenomenal (Leslie, Wenli and Iulia are the ones I have the most experience with and they are all beyond incredible). The class that really sold me was Iulia’s Thursday evening Deep Yin Stretch and Breathe. Like I said, I was really struggling with sleep waking up multiple times a night with feelings of discomfort and restlessness. It was so bad I had to take a leave of absence from work because I was sleeping so poorly and it was hard to function. I had seen so many doctors (GP, Neurologist, Chiropractor, RMT, Physio) tried so many medications but no one was able to provide me with a “lasting” solution to my sleep problem. After Iulia’s class I had the deepest longest sleep I’ve had in a long, long time (it felt like a miracle as this had been going on for so long). I honestly can’t remember the last time I slept so well. Iulia is an excellent instructor and so good at what she does. She has a healing energy and cultivates an environment that really helps you come back to yourself and become much more aware of the interrelationship between your body and your mind. I have been going consistently and feel better each and every time. If you have a lot of stress, difficulty with sleep, chronic pain issues you need to take this class. I guarantee you will not regret it. Overall Hot Yoga Markham is a phenomenal place and I’m so happy I discovered it. Jin Jin the manager has done an incredible job at picking top tier instructors for the studio that genuinely care about your well being and want to see you improve and get better. There is a really strong sense of community here and I would highly recommend HYM to anyone that is looking to improve their physical and mental health.

Expérience fantastique: As a former athlete getting back into a healthy living life style, this Yoga studio welcomed me into it with its comfortable non judgement classes. All the males and females are supportive. The owner has been very kinda and was not pushy with sales or anything like that. The intro package was a perfect way to test it and I’m staying. Also, very clean!

Expérience fantastique: I have been going to hot yoga studios for roughly 8 years and Hot Yoga Markham is by far my favourite. I moved further away but make the drive back to markham every once in a while (even though there are other studios closer to home) because it's worth it. From JinJin and the staff being so kind and welcoming, to the teachers guiding your breath and posture. The level of the studio/teachers is also amazing. They offer a variety of classes for beginners to advanced students. Each teacher has their own style while making sure that they push and prepare their students for the next level. One key factor is that the room is not TOO hot, which allows you to comfortably complete the class. If there is any studio that a yogi is considering to try, it should be HYM! Thank you JinJin for always being so welcoming and allowing our love for yoga to grow (:

Expérience fantastique: Joined Markham Hot Yoga since 2021 as my previous hot yoga studio closed down. Good teachers, good staffs, good services, and good classmates. Very clean environment and very relax after stepping in. Even my previous hot yoga studio re-opened, I insisted to stay here.

Expérience fantastique: I can’t say enough about my yoga teacher (Cheryl Ow) but I will try. Her warm personality alone would make anyone feel comfortable in joining her class whatever your level of yoga. Although younger students (I am a senior of 77yrs) are more agile, I am not made to feel different and the class is like a family group, each encouraging and applauding each other. Cheryl designs each class for a specific “peak pose”. By targeting muscles, movements and stretches that build the strength and stamina required for that peak pose. The theme flows smoothly (not disjointed as some other classes) as she encourages each of us. She helps us to reach our potential by providing specific details on breathing, where to look; placement of hands, elbows, head, legs. Of course, her demonstrations are superb too. I attend yoga on a weekly basis but try never to miss my time to reconnect with my body, mind and spirit in Cheryl’s class. The other yoga teachers here at Hot Yoga Markham are excellent too, each bring their unique energy to teaching. It’s easy to find balance and peace on your mat at Hot Yoga Markham.

Expérience fantastique: This was my first time trying yoga after being curious about it for years. I took the beginner fundamentals class. It was great! All the instructors are very friendly and highly trained. They suggested a lot of alterations to the moves for the less flexible such as myself, and I appreciated that a lot. The sign up process was smooth and easy, the studio and change rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the room is also gently heated, which is a very nice touch. I'm very happy with my introduction into the yoga world thanks to Hot Yoga Markham.

Expérience fantastique: I've been too all the different york region studios, and this is the best. The teachers will cater from absolute beginners to super advanced. The owner is really nice and once you start going, the studio has a "family" feel where you get to know the other students. There are free lockers to put small valuables in. Yes the door to the studio closes when class starts, and that is appreciated as the classes start/end on time and it's respectful to the other students who are getting into the slowing down mindset at the start of the class.

There are so many classes on the schedule for all levels and they offer a variety of classes like stretching, cardio, strength building, meditation and traditional yoga. This was the first studio I tried, and since then I've been to other studios over the years and even when I lived 40 minutes away, I always return here because the classes and instructors are consistently so good.

HYM instructors are very knowledgeable, provide excellent verbal instructions and offer adjustments to students if needed and wanted. My experience with all the teachers has been very positive. There are various types of classes available. All levels of practitioners will feel comfortable at HYM. The studio itself is very beautiful and clean with big windows in the practice room to let in natural light. Jinjin, the owner takes interest in her clients and is very friendly. There are plenty of small lockers available for belongings.

Classes are hot, studio is clean and the owner Jin Jin greets everyone by name. It’s a very friendly atmosphere, it’s okay and in fact welcomed, to talk with other yogis before class. Underground parking in cold weather is a bonus!

Expérience fantastique: I've been going to Hot Yoga Markham for over two years now. I use to go to Modo but they shut down during the pandemic and took everyone's money and never refunded us back. I was honestly apprehensive of joining another studio during the pandemic because I feared it would happen again. I was wrong. Jinjin didn't charge us during the shut down early in the year. She simply said " don't worry, why are you worried?". That's who Jinjin is. She cares about not only her business but the people who come to her studio. She remembers EVERYONES name. She makes sure you are acknowledged. She makes the studio so special. The instructors are equally amazing. They all challenge you, all the classes change from week to week. At modo...the classes were always the same. Same music, same routine. I love going here and would recommend this yoga studio to anyone. Sometimes some bad situations lead you to something great!

There’s a variety of different types of classes throughout the day everyday with different instructors so you’re sure to find something suitable for you. I like that the studio is well maintained and cleaned regularly. Theres showers to use after class and also lockers to store valuables. There’s lots of friendly people at the studio like JinJin! Would definitely recommend especially if you’re a beginner and don’t know where to start!

Initially I came to the studio for a stretch class, and I ended up purchasing a package for more classes because I really liked it. After trying out different classes and committing to practicing for a couple months, I feel stronger, more flexible, and most importantly the knee pain I had prior to starting is gone. Highly recommend this studio for the knowledgeable instructors, and friendly staff. If you’re looking to try yoga for the first time, they also have mat rentals available.

The classes The studio offers a variety of classes, at all levels, in addition to traditional hatha, vinyasa, power flow, ashtanga, yin and restorative, there are specialty classes, such as sculpting yoga , conditioning yoga, pilates, etc. The instructors All of the instructors at Hot Yoga Markham are experienced and dedicated. They carefully choreograph each and every class they teach. They make them fun, challenging and effective whether working towards a peak pose, or focusing certain aspects of the body. The instructors take their time and effort to know their students. They often offer valuable tips/instructions at a personal level. The yogis It feels like a big family at hot yoga Markham. The students, new or long time, regular or occasional, are all so kind and warm. many of us see each other at least five times a week. The manager/owner I have nothing but deep gratitude towards this beautiful and strong (physically and mentally) lady who maintained the studio during difficult Covid time, retaine capable instructors, and make Hot Yoga Markham a truly safe, fun and happy place for us.
