Expérience négative: I do NOT recommend anyone to work as a lifeguard at this pool due to terrible management. There is lack of communication, a toxic culture of back stabbing, unsafe practices for OHS including wrong chemical combining and having too high or too low of chlorine while keeping the pool open, management won’t take responsibility for conflict when there is no swim schedules and lazy staff get away with doing the least amount of work. HR is totally incompetent because they are horribly unqualified, and the pool manager likes to hand out punishment with humiliation and HR is OK with that and supports it!? The pool manager also has a terrible home life which she dumps on employees constantly. Don’t work here, you will thank me!

Expérience fantastique: Love the swimming pool here with the lane pool, a fun pool that turns into a wave pool, a lazy river, a water slide, and a hot tub.

Expérience positive: To beat the heat while camping at Kinbrook Island, we thought we’d check out the JBS Centre swimming pool, and we were glad we did! Came with myself and my two girls (8&5), and there was plenty to do for all swimming levels. Great shallow pool, with warm water, a lazy river, and fun water features. The deep pool had a diving board and offered lane swim. Facilities were clean and staff were friendly. My only complaint was the open shower area - I’d much prefer to have a private shower after swimming. All and all, a good experience.

Expérience positive: My toddler loves going to pool, but overall I despise it. Every time we go, the family change rooms reek of urine. Last time we went we literally had people climb over the floaty were using with my toddler and almost pulled her under and nothing was said by the life guard but definitely was by me. They need to have a limit of how many people can be in the pool as it gets very crowded and the need to clean the change rooms in the family area more often.

Expérience négative: Male life gaurd is extremely rude! And not the first time he's been very rude to young kids either. There were a couple of kids just enjoying the pool and then comes along a couple other kids and start bullying them. Life guard sees this but ignores it at this time. Then these kids tell the others to leave them alone. The bullying continues, now name calling is happing, being called fat and they should leave for being too fat. so the kids start saying mean things back, then the life gaurd steps in and kicks the kids out of the pool until they have a meeting with the supervisor, these kids try explaining to the life gaurd that the other kids were calling them names and wouldn't stop even though they were asked to multiple times. The life gaurd just says I don't believe you so leave.

Expérience positive: This recreation centre is a good place to exercise(work-out in the gym) and enjoy indoor sports like swimming, basketball, ice hockey etc, there's lounge for relaxation also a restaurant

Expérience fantastique: Make sure you call before making the trek over, a few times the pool schedule was not as expected with the pool being cleaned and a different time with no lifeguards on duty, so it was closed. But it gets a 5star rating despite that because of the amazingly warm temperature of the pool. We have a blast every time.

Expérience fantastique: Not great I was told I had tell 10pm and pass aggressive employee shut the lights off on me at 945 after I spent 10 minutes of my time in gym cleaning up after others will nor be renewing membership

Expérience négative: I have been working out at this facility for years. It hasn't had the most up to date equipment, but it has had everything needed to obtain a nice physique. Recently, the facility upgraded some of their equipment. Idk who authorized this ridiculous upgrade as the old equipment was even better than this new multi station. I really wish that the facility staff who clearly don't spend much time in the gym, would have asked some of us that go there daily - what would make the gym better. Instead, they decided to spend money on cheap equipment that is less than two weeks old and is already showing signs of failure. Maybe someone should have done some basic research or better yet visited an upgraded facility for ideas. Anyways. Do better brooks. Do better. End rant

Expérience négative: Very rude life guard one with curly blond hair. What a terrible experience. Came up to me several times. Felt like she was picking on just me. Try to support locally but not after this instance. I get it have rules but when it’s only pointed out to one person particularly that’s called discrimination !

Expérience négative: Bathrooms are disgusting. They all smell like urine! There is ample posters and signs posted everywhere in the pool advising people to wear proper swimwear. This is not enforced. There is people swimming in jeans, some women clothed from head to toe, kids in underwear, bandaids and other things in the water. Absolutely disgusting. Whoever runs this place should be ashamed of themselves…

Expérience fantastique: Frequently use the pool facilities and they're always great. The staff and lifeguards are friendly. Swimming Lessons are offered often and are always a great asset to have access to! The only downside I'd say is that the Family Change Rooms often smell poorly but it's not the fault of the facility (if you know what I mean). We enjoy the viewing area (more chairs are needed during Swimming Lessons in the Summer!) and the party room right off the pool is very nice also!

Expérience négative: Terrible. Tells incorrect times, I end up going but then finding out the flex hall or field house is closed or booked out.

Expérience fantastique: Nice place. They have a gym, a swimming pool area, gymnasium, library and a soft play area that's open at uneven times (not odd out of hour times, just not consistent with opening times). Good place to take the kids to keep them busy and entertained.

Expérience fantastique: The JBS Canada Centre is a very nice place for such a small population. It was revamped a few years ago and they turned the old dilapidated building into a wonderful place to get your workout on, swim, visit library and various other physical activities.

Expérience fantastique: Moved to Brooks a few months ago and this facility has made my time here way more enjoyable. The exercise facilities are great, but the fitness classes offered are what stands out. There is a lot of selection and all of the instructors are amazing!!! Great price for membership for all that is included.

Expérience fantastique: Great library, good food at Terry's restaurant. Very nice pool, hot pool and gym. Great arena for public skating. Fast food vendor easily accessible to all areas. Elevator to upper level. Unfortunate to see Terry's restaurant go.

Expérience positive: Rec centre is great but the lack of supervision and kids running around is a little concerning. Perhaps a security guard to help with the loitering.

Expérience fantastique: JBS Canada Centre has everything that you could ask for from a top of the line rec centre. It houses the Brooks Public Library, EID Aquatic Centre (which includes a wave pool, waterslide and hot tub), a skating rink, gymnasium, and gigantic fieldhouse for playing basketball, indoor soccer, and volleyball. There is also a taekwondo facility, daycare and a whole bunch of meeting rooms. Awesome place to visit!
