Equipment is laid out perfectly, for anyone looking at taking their training to the next level; immerse yourself in a professional environment like West Coast Iron. Shake Bar will make you an awesome shake post workout, or even mix you up some preworkout. Been coming here for 3 years now and wouldn’t want to train anywhere else. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend you check it out.

Expérience positive: We signed up for a one-month trial, but unfortunately, our car broke down after just one week. We reached out to see if my partner and I could get an extension since we barely used the memberships, but there wasn’t much flexibility. It felt like the month wasn’t utilized well for two memberships.

Expérience fantastique: The atmosphere / community of the gym is unreal. The machines are top tier. It doesn’t matter who you are, what level you train at, everyone in there is grinding and supporting each other. I also love that the owners and the staff are all so amazing, they always smile and say hello to everyone. West Coast always feels like home.

Expérience positive: Absolutely love this gym! The only thing I would say is I wish there was a better sanitation system for the equipment. A lot of gyms use the little disinfecting wipes that you can pull from a stand, which I think is a great option! I find it pretty unsanitary that everyone shares the same reusable, soggy rags to wipe down the machines after use. Everyone’s sweat they wipe away is then collecting in those rags and everyone’s wiping it all over everything. Not the most hygienic thing. Other than that I love love this gym and their variety of equipment!

Expérience positive: Been going to this gym for the last 1-3/4 years, but I will not be renewing my membership when it expires in December. The short answer is the lack of A/C is simply brutal in the summer months and I can’t afford to skip a workout every time it’s 32+ degrees (feels like 38 with humidity) outside. A few other things that are pushing me towards change: - Lack of ventilation in the washrooms/change rooms is brutal. Most of the sinks don’t work properly. - The music is so loud my active noise cancelling headphones can’t even block it out and I can sleep on flights with those things. - Some of the equipment (calve raise machine, hip thrust, seated calf, etc) has cracked or broken padding and lifting heavy weights with them hurts and leaves a mark. - The filter on the water fountain has had red status for the entire duration I’ve attended this gym.

Expérience fantastique: Best gym to go to. They do NOT screw around, definitely better than most gyms in the area, yet don't get enough publicity. Been training with Dany for EXACTLY 6 weeks now and pretty much great results! You're welcome, Dany, you'lre gonna get it. Haha.

Expérience fantastique: A rugged, no-pain no-gain depot that mostly resembles a Gladiator arena. Germaphobes operate the sterile facility that is spotless except for the pooling of blood on the floor as my ears bleed from the blasting of unholy rock music calling on me to fight government tyranny. Despite a dedicated posing room, tripods and DSLRs are plentiful in all areas, filming the bulging muscles of beefcakes doing "light weights" at 2pm on a 9-5 workday. Hypnotically Caucasian — the TVs play clips of burly men moving steel 6 inches before a thundering drop to the floor, parade-sized army unit flags drape alongside posters of half-naked musclemen and heavyweight boxers; one can only dream of being so masculine. Make no mistake, the women who frequent the club are equally domineering; look past their plastic features under a tan seared by West Coast Iron's very own tanning booth, and you'll find pure T coursing through their veins. I laid down at one of the many bench presses and struggled at first to lift the 100kg bar, but the blinding stadium lights piercing directly down into my eyes combined with the strobe effect of the helicopter-sized blades of the ceiling fan induced a seizure in me, and I uncontrollably contorted my back at a 45 degree angle, which gave me the leverage needed to lift the weight, and onlookers remarked that I had "perfect form." The drop-in is modestly overpriced and at the same time the entry turnstile is very easy to hop: another of god's little tests. Instead, to see if such a breach would go unnoticed, I tried to sneakily walk backwards through the the exit turnstile while the front desk was occupied with a marauding CrossFitter and was successful for a moment, though I was promptly picked up and launched outside by a mammoth staff member, who then repped my whole body for 5 sets of Military Press right on the doormat seen from the photo taken by my now-cracked phone and uttered the heretical words that are still with me: "Do you even lift, brah?"

Dany is knowledgeable and he really knows what he’s doing and base our training so I’m injury-free. He’s not only motivating me in the gym but also checks my lifestyle so I can achieve my goal better. He’s reliable and really passionate about his job and I highly recommend him (although I would love to gatekeeper him for myself haha). Thankful that I get to train with Dany and looking forward to continue with him in the future at west coast

Expérience fantastique: Banger gym. Started going here to continue working with my trainer Dany, who is fantastic and I highly recommend anyone looking for a trainer to look into him. Excellent facilities, so much equipment that even when it's busy there's always a plethora of options to choose. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the fellow people using the gym are professional and don't leave equipment around like I find people at many other gyms do. They know what they're doing, and let you do what you're doing. All in all nothing to complain about, basically the perfect gym!

He’s so knowledgeable and listens to all your concerns and makes sure he works with me to achieve my goals. I have been staying consistent with the help of him holding me accountable. He makes me feel comfortable and confident in myself to gym by myself and doing proper form. Definitely 10/10 would recommend him to my friends and family

He helped me get stronger with challenging workouts and supported me through rehab while I injured my ankle. Dany is knowledgeable on the human body and I look forward to my training sessions with him every week.

Expérience négative: No free trial to try out the gym, drop in fee is $30. Staff wasn’t so friendly and when I asked to see a manager the front guy told me he was busy. Not the best way to turn away potential customers.

Great gym overall, and to be precise, this is a REAL bodybuilding gym where you feel the owners and who ever chose the equipment knows what they are doing. The only gym I have seen here with a T-bar row machine (Not even gold's has it). Most gyms in Vancouver are equipped in a cookie cutter manner. Anyway, 2pac was on the speakers, and real old school iron weights were being lifted, you get the picture.

Expérience fantastique: My favorite gym. If you live far you should still try this gym at least once. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they constantly update the place with the newest and the most needed equipment. You can find equipment that you wouldn’t in other gyms. 5⭐️ FOR SURE!!!

Always wanted to workout here and decided to make the trip from South Surrey because they were one of the first gyms that literally opened before any others during the unnecessary government lockdown of gyms. If your looking for a killer workout and solid atmosphere give it a try...won't be disappointed.

First came to this gym when I was 17 and it was called World Gym and I've seen the various owners and the incredible transformation this place has had over the years. The current owners have been phenomenal for this place - they've really made it something special. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to be surrounded by dedicated fitness enthusiasts but feel welcome no matter what level of fitness you are at! These days the patrons are extremely friendly and willing to provide tips to others!!

Expérience fantastique: West coast iron provides the best selection of equipment, sufficient friendly staff and a safe, clean space to workout in. Ownership is dedicated to ensuring that all members needs are exceeded. Feedback from members is always heard by staff and the gym continues to thrive and surpass any other facilities within the lower mainland. During recent protocols with COVID-19 WCI has maintained a sanitary and safe environment to train in. They have done so by limiting the amount of members allowed in, providing spray bottles for each member and making members aware of mask protocols as they are updated by BC by-law standards. Recently I had to switch gyms after being very connected to the community at my old gym this was a difficult transition for me. Luckily there has been so much support from the staff and members at WCI and this is already starting to feel like home to me. If you haven't experienced WCI you need to go see for yourself, this space is one of a kind.
