Expérience positive: There is a sign out front that says “world gym closing”. Not sure if you can still work out there

Expérience négative: $20 drop-in. Need I say more. Many other gyms in the area offer a free 1-7 day pass, nothing available here. Also they closed their business days before may 31st

Expérience négative: Pretty sad to see they can't provide any student discounts, other world gym are currently waiving sign up fees for students. Pricing continues to go up but service hasn't followed pace.

Expérience négative: Terrible Gym, they have predatory business practices to sign you up without actually letting you read the contract. They include sign up fees, late fees, and reservation fees and not once have I ever seen them update the equipment. Do NOT go to this gym in Kelowna.

Expérience positive: Was great. I had a grandfathered $10/month pass. Not too busy in the mornings. Too bad it's closing.

Expérience négative: Just moved to Kelowna, paid for two weeks and was not told they would be automatically taking money from my credit card every two weeks for three months. I got a $60 dollar charge while on holidays. They tried charging my credit card and when I didn’t have the amount, the charge another $25 on top of that. Now I have to get charged $35 every two weeks for the next 2.5 months.

In the time I have been there, I have gotten to know most of them, and love the interactions I have with Bram, Dillon, Dave & Emilio- who make coming to the gym fun and something to look forward to, as opposed to a stagnant work out facility where no one ever speaks. Expérience négative: I’m writing this review at 5:40 am as I’ve been sitting in the parking lot for the last 40 mins. Not the first time this has happened, they don’t open when they say they do. Only one person takes the desk in the mornings, why wouldn’t they have two for instances like this? Now that I’m here I’ll inform you about the rest of the gym. It’s busy. If you don’t come at 5-7 am your gonna be waiting for benches, machines, squat racks.. etc. the 45 lb plates are worn down, everything is old. Do yourself a favour and workout somewhere else. There’s a reason it’s cheap.

Expérience négative: Make sure you read your contract before you sign up. This is the scammy kind of gym that lures you in with lower prices but you have to pay for the whole year if you decide to cancel.

Expérience négative: Absolutely terrible service by the front desk. Gentlemen turned down the entry for my kid because of age limit - which is fine - however the attitude and rudeness were remarkable and uncalled for. Left a very bad taste.

Expérience fantastique: This gym is quite big, has a smoothie bar, and a place to work the punching bag with gloves provided. Even has a small sauna in the changeroom, very impressed!

Expérience positive: Love the squat racks and platforms and the semi private area! Only issue I had was downgrading my membership (was a nightmare). Overall a solid gym, worth getting a pass that’s $15 bi weekly

Expérience fantastique: Just moved to Kelowna and so glad I decided to join this gym. So many workout machines and equipment available in a huge space. The 5 am openings are a plus also.

Expérience positive: This is my daily gym. Staff is always super friendly and helpful if you ever need anything. I've never seen the cardio section very busy but it's always hard to get a squat rack or bench so I'd like to see the cardio section downsized a little bit so they could fit at least one more squat rack, one more bench press, and a hacksquat machine would really be amazing.

Expérience négative: I m regular member of Kelowna Gym location. I have been renting a locker since 4-5 months. This morning when I went to gym someone staff cut my lock and took all my gym shoes, lifting belt, lifting stripes, tricep rope extension, Ez curl bar cable attachment are all missing. When I asked to reception and got no answer. This is completely unacceptable and irresponsible.

Expérience fantastique: The new programming for their World Gym Athletics membership is amazing! Killer workouts that are different every day. Time flies by in the 45 minute session and I leave feeling like my butt was kicked

Expérience positive: Recently re organized their entire gym floor. All equipment in a new spot. Feels great. Should add some battle ropes and hopefully see some new/replaced equipment.

Expérience fantastique: I just finished my first workout at World Gym Athletics with Arlen. It was great, he'll make you sweat, and work hard. Strapping on some boxing gloves and going at the bag, and doing pad work was the best part. Highly recommend, it's a great workout with one of Kelowna's best trainers.

Expérience positive: Good gym with friendly staff. Almost all the equipment you could want(no leg[glute] abduction). It's clean, the people are respectful.

Expérience négative: Not enough machines/equipment and usually atleast half of the machines are "out of order" and dont get fixed for weeks at a time.

Expérience fantastique: I really like World gym. This is my first time experiencing a gym that has a section only for weman. So, if you have one of those days that you are not in the mood and just want to put on a comfy outfit, have a messy bun and have a relax workout you can go to that section. This gym has everything. Great equipment, fitness classes and they even have an smoothie bar.

Expérience négative: Don't give any rights of your bank account cause when you cancel with them they keep taking money off your account like a candy jar

Expérience positive: I'm new to this gym and so far, it's great. It tends to be a bit busy but you can't blame success, I guess. Quite a few machines were out of order but I think that's currently being rectified as I saw the repairman in the other day. I do wish we used towels to wipe down the machines instead of paper towels, though. So much waste.

Expérience fantastique: This 5 star review goes to your employee: Hunter. He was very helpful in sorting out my dilemma regarding my wife and I's accounts. I was quite upset after a partner company told me that I hadn't paid in over a year, and then tried to backtrack on his lie regarding forwarding my account to a collection company that doesn't exist when I told him I was looking at my payment history. This didn't faze Hunter in the slightest. He was professional and genuinely happy to be assisting me, and by the end of the call we were both laughing. It was a refreshing experience to have.

Expérience négative: I haven’t been to World Gym since covid, but I still paid my membership, and wanted to support them since I know how bad COVID has effected businesses like this. On March 3 I had a payment come out of my account, which was not my membership but a charge to guarantee the rate I was paying. I had no email, mail, text or any notification of this charge. This particular account I had did not have the proper funds, so I was charged an NSF of $48. I called the gym right away asking what this was, and asked them to reverse it. The lady on the phone said “no we can’t” in a very rude tone and couldn’t help me. I called the manager the next day and got the same response. He told me this charge was in the contract I signed when I joined the gym (approx 8 years ago) and they don’t send out notifications. I couldn’t get my money back now I’m out this charge plus an nsf. I don’t understand why no notification or communication of any sort was sent... especially because I know a few people haven’t been since covid. There was no compromise or any effort to help me. For this reason I will never join this gym again.

World Gym also has a medical grade body composition analysis tool that helps make that you are making balanced progress throughout your upper left, lower left, upper right, and lower right muscle groups.

Expérience fantastique: I have been a member of World Gym for several years. The cost for membership is reasonable and affordable. The front desk personnel are friendly and have been helpful when I've misplaced my car keys (Shout-out to Cait!! Thank you.) It's so much more clean than most of the other gyms and I usually see staff cleaning daily (Cait & Jaya ) LOW-KEY GYM!!

Expérience fantastique: I was a little apprehensive about this gym when I first started here a year ago. It really is a great place and I can usually get in a good workout most days. I am fortunate enough to be able to get here on off peak times though. Place looks great after the COVID Reno's.

Expérience fantastique: I really like what they've done with the gym since undergoing recent renovations. The various staff have always been friendly from the moment I walk in the door and are part of the reason I've stayed here as a long term member. World Gym is now very spacious with plenty of protocols in place that minimize health risks while still allowing you to get a good workout in. Make sure you bring a pair of indoor shoes. Excellent mix of well-maintained cardio machines, resistance training equipment and free weights. Although the memberships billing plans are a bit convoluted, when averaged out on a monthly basis they are cheaper than a lot of other comparable options in Kelowna. Only improvement I would like to see is a stretching area with exercise mats.

Expérience négative: Im not sure what to say here, im a little shocked. I paid $460.00 for a 1year membership, after 5 weeks my life situation changed therefore i talked to tge manager of the Kelowna location and asked for a refund and was told there would be a one month penalty. I then went and picked up the what shouldve been around a $315.00 cheque and only got a $189.00 refund and was told that the difference that i was missing went towards an admin fee. This seems very shady to me, there is nothing about this in the contract, i wouldnt recommend this gym, stick with the local Y, they are much more honest. Word of mouth wont get my missing money back but i hope it will cost World Gym in reconsidered future memberships

Expérience fantastique: Great gym that has all you need. Can get quite crowded during prime time (i.e. 3pm onward), which is why we go earlier in the morning. Staff are excellent and friendly as well. Very affordable for what you get

Expérience positive: The gym itself is decent not the cleanest, but a great price. The owners are incredibly difficult to get a hold of, but Tracy is an exceptional manager. I was having troubles with my account, and Tracy was very happy to help me and incredibly understanding. Tracy is definitely the reason that I am giving them a 4 star rating, and the only reason I am writing a review to begin with.

Expérience fantastique: Staff care and will help you find what you need. Has all the weights you need to complete a good workout. Many squat racks and cardio machines help alot so your not waiting 30 mins to start your workout. Extra crossfit room separate. Lots of classes to offer. Womens side and day care are a bonus. Gym can get busy but I have never had to wait long to use equipment because there is a good variety. Good athmospear and have met many great people there. Gary and the owners all care about the members and will help them locate any stolen or missing property. Been going for almost 6 years now and you can't beat the price for a membership anywhere.

Expérience positive: The staff are usually friendly and quick to greet you. The equipment is, for the most part, in working order. There never seem to be enough clamps available for everyone to use, especially when its busy. And since its busy most of the time that seems to always be the case. Most of the plates rubber are old and have been worn out with use over time There are spots in the gym that always seem to smell terrible. Couldn't tell you why though. If gym ownership were looking to improve the experience for their faithful customers I would recommend replacing most, if not all, plates and making sure all racks are supplied with clamps. For 10 dollars a month it is the most cost-efficient gym in kelowna but the experience is exactly what your paying for. If you have the extra money to spend I would recommend going elsewhere but if you're on a budget World Gym is a great place to workout. In short, the gym is good; but it could be immensely improved if ownership would be bothered to update equipment. Overall a 3 out of 5 experience, check it out to see for yourself.

Expérience négative: Came into the gym and got a free trial and I was super excited about the low prices. But then I saw how the staff treat each other. I overheard a conversation between 2 of the staff behind the counter and heard the guy repeatedly put down the girl. I missed most of the details but at the end of the conversation he proudly announced "Well you can't go anywhere you're pregnant. Who would hire you." and then he rolled his eyes and skipped away. Disgusting. The real question is who hired that guy. I'm not going to be getting my membership at a place that has guys like that. Edit - After seeing the response from the owner I called the gym and got to talk with the Gentleman and he confirmed that he did say those words, and that he thought it was justified as she had mentioned "she was considering quitting." World Gym might want to update their staff on what is considered bullying, harassment and discrimination. BUT HAVE NO FEAR. I've pulled up the very first sentence from the The Human Rights Commission; "Harassing employees because of pregnancy or related conditions or circumstances is also considered discrimination. Harassment includes joking, teasing and unwelcome comments, or touching." Again, who hired this clown.

Expérience fantastique: Great gyms! I love the fact they're family owned and so engaged in the community. You get so much value for your membership, the World Gym Athletics classes incorporate so much in a functional training style. Highly recommend the gyms and classes to all friends and family!

From the moment you walk in the staff is friendly, inviting, and they truly care about you! I train here 3x's a week with my personal Trainer Dan Chapman and he has been making me feel confident and collected. The owners take liberty to interact with their members and make them feel very welcome and appreciated! They take steps to creating friendships amongst the community and make their members feel comfortable. Expérience négative: Good gym for the price, but far too crowded, too many people treating equipment like a social house,standing around chatting while 4 other people patiently wait there turn, then walking away without cleaning up the weights or sweat (very regular occurence) and none of the staff seem to care. There will be a line up of 4 people waiting on a piece of equipment while 3 people stabd around it having a good long chat.

Expérience positive: My girlfriend has a pass to World's that lets me attend when she goes. MADI instructs an unreal boxing HIIT class on Wednesday nights! I do not understand the sign in as a guest process. Sometimes you have to sign in, sometimes you don't. I showed up at 6am one morning. I'd gone the day before with my girlfriend and signed in on the board. This 6am gatekeeper wouldn't let me in unless I had ID because apparently I might owe gym fees? I had left my wallet at home and asked if she could look at the board from the day before to see I had signed in. She said they are filed immediately and she has no access to them. She said she is being watched on security and couldn't let me in unless I showed ID... which I had never done before. Worse yet, she had let me in the day previous! For some reason was copping an attitude this day. AND said it was too early to speak to a manager. Whatever. Anyways other than that the place is ok. I would only really go again for the boxing class.
