Expérience positive: Is there a way to be informed about closures ie due to power outages or inclement weather? Very hard to find any information online, and inconvenient to drive all the way over just to have it be closed. Several cars did the same thing in the short time I was there. Highly recommend keeping the website up-to-date or a social media account.
Expérience fantastique: I very rarely wait for anything even at peak times. Everyone is really nice here, even the broccoli haired, croc, sarm kids are friendly. Bring your own water.

Expérience fantastique: Best gym in town! Lots of cardio equipment, weight machines and free weights. The cost it low and the hours are amazing being 24/7. Tanning, massage chairs, hydro bed everything that you need in one spot. Staff keep the gym clean which is wonderful. Only wish is the people that use the gym would clean their weights and machines after use, but that’s not the gyms fault, that’s just people being gross.

Expérience négative: The second fit4less in a row that can't manage to have working showers. Now I have to waste more time signing up for another gym.
Expérience positive: Machines are always broken. Nothing is kept up on. Tanning bed bulbs are never changed. Need to put in a water bottle fountain, the sinks in the bathroom don't cut it.

Expérience négative: Been working out here about 3 years now, and there are few changes is needed for this place. The price is cheap for sure but they have been increasing slowly over year but no change in gym. They have decent amount of different machines for casuals, but there are only one or two of the same machines and takes too long to repair if it is needed. I have seen one of the leg machines been maintanance for over two weeks and it only needed to screw in to hold the leg positions. They still don't have a water fountain to refill the water, you can't come back to gym if you forgot your water bottle, phone or headphone in your car unless it has been over an hour from your first check ins. I kind of get it that you can't simply add more machines because of spaces and the membership fee is still super ow price even they increased a bit, but at least water fountain or fixing it as soon as possibld to get things run please.

Expérience négative: This gym has the most confusing entry system, especially for people new to the gym, there is a rotary door type thing that you need a code or something to scan to enter, but the kiosk at the front to get a code is out of service and there is no one working when you use the intercom like the sign says, so there is no way to get in? Very stupid system

Expérience négative: Please fix equipment sooner than later. I see in many reviews they have the same issues. Technicians need to be more proactive. I know how simple fixes are but 1 to 2 weeks. Not acceptable.
Expérience positive: A classic fit4less with great friendly staff and cheap rates. Probably kills all the local gyms but it’s a good 24/7 option for sure. That said I would love to see water fountains…it’s been too long guys. Let’s get some fountains eh. I’ve been filling up with sink water for half a decade here.

Expérience négative: The gym itself is fine. Shame that you can only use amenities during staffed hours and there is no water fountain station. The atmosphere was also dead despite the fact I went during busy times. If you can get past the previous issues then I suppose you can do worse.

Expérience positive: The only thing I dislike about f4less is the fact you can't sign your teen kid to come to the gym Planet Fitness allows a waiver to be signed to allow you teen to come exercise with you. I think it encourages healthy living and gives teens something to do. Otherwise I love the gym, the atmostphere. and continue to make it my gym.

Paid $21 to get a guest pass, only to find showers locked inside and no staff to help me. No indication that showers are locked until inside the gym. Wasted my money

Expérience positive: So i pay for a black card that includes everything. Tanning massage chairs and bed ect. Which i use eachctime i go except lately theyre isnt any staff ever and i cant ever use the tanner or chairs now without staff... so i pay for these services and now cant use them so what gives no notice or anything either. If i pay for these things and arent getting them why would i continue to pay for it or go to this gym the others have staff and the same stuff.. your also voiding the contract legally i signed for the gym

Expérience négative: Unethical billing practices and Unprofessional: Gym is ok for workouts, But you get very bad customer service if you’re going to cancel your membership. I cancelled my membership and they were still charging me for more than 3 months. Even after asking them to cancel, they did not and I was still being charged. Finally when I cancelled the membership they only refunded half the money they took from me.

Expérience négative: I have been weight training for 30 plus years. One thing that makes a club is that gym etiquette is followed. That does not occur here, on busy nights individuals hog machines with no regard for others. On busy nights super sets on different equipment is NOT appropriate.
Expérience fantastique: My daily check-in place. Nice 24/7 gym, with plenty of facilities and sanitizing stations. I signed up for BlackCard membership so I can use the massage chair and it totally worth the price. The front desk people are nice and friendly, and got VIU people Recommend this place for anyone who wanna build body or just for a regular exercises everyday. Plenty of parking in front of the gym.

Expérience négative: They do not have trainers and even if you hire one they won't allow it. Never being at a gym before so no idea what to do so a personal trainer hired by me would be safer for myself so I won't get hurt and more motivating. Even if you pay fit4less to let trainer in they will not allow it.

Fit4Less sent my wife a complaint that she let in an unauthorized user and then explained to her that her and I cannot go in at the same time and only separately on different days. The double membership is incorrectly advertised and now we will downgrade her membership since this flawed logic has arised. 1 star indefinitely

I have to change my banking information and I have updated as soon as possible and still they took $25 charge. The manager was not at all good. He took one week to get a reply for me saying it was my mistake. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!!! May be people think it's a cheap gym but you can go to Fitness work for $8.99. At least they have trainers if you need.
Expérience fantastique: Wheelchair accessible and disabled friendly! A great gym for a great price. If you can firmly commit to a few months (or more) the sign up fee is absolutely worth it. It's a lot of square footage with a large selection of equipment, weights and services. The only thing I've missed is a water bottle filling station but for a $12/mo saving over my previous gym I'm happy to fill them at home . Currently Google maps says Fit4Less is on the London Drugs / Fairway Market side on Uplands but it's actually on the other side beside Dollarama. (Southside)

Expérience positive: Cardio eqpt is sufficiently spaced with machines taped off to create proper distancing. Not impressed that the broken machines are not swapped out with working ones. 4 arc trainers. 1 working, 2 taped, 1 broken. Swap broken for taped. Same with treadmills.

Expérience négative: No star. I had a really bad experience with them. I am a black card member and felt like being profiled. I went at 4:30pm. The lady representative was acting rude to us. I would like to file a complaint about the representative who was showing rude attitude to us. There was also a good guy representative who did explain the situation and we were escorted out of the building. I really appreciate the behavior of that guy. I know what they said was right, but 'the way she said' was totally disrespectful and we both felt insulted in front of other clients . Pls contact me for further details and elevating the complaint to higher level. Since I got this feedback from your staff, in future I would never recommend Fit4Less to any of my friends and family.
Expérience négative: Gym is dirty, with dust and cobwebs hanging off the metal support cables. Not all members are wiping down the equipment or machines, and there are not any staff to be seen. No paper towel in two places, so I went to the desk where all three staff were sitting in a dark room all on their phones. One girl came out and I told her there was not any paper towel, and her reply was "OK". Then she turned around, went back into the room, sat down, and that was it. No staff came out of that room during my 45min work-out. Called to cancel my membership, and the guy on the phone didn't ask one single question as to why or anything..... Speaks volumes!

Expérience fantastique: Friendly atmosphere. 50% of cardio machines closed due to covid. Masks currently required. Young staff and really easy going. Tanning is stand up type. 2 booths. Massage chairs, 4 available but unless you are together only 2 in use. 2 massage beds. Good selection of free weights. Dumbells to 75lb. 4 squat racks. 2 Smith machines. 4 bench press stations. Various cable systems. Over all very happy with my Black Membership. Only con is it can be busy during peak hours (Covid limits in place). Would recommend as a no frills gym with decent vibe and nice people.

Expérience négative: Am extremely disappointed in fit for less. I moved out of town and had to cancel my membership. I contacted fit for less by email never received a reply. So had to go in and talk to someone in person was told could take sometimes but that all fees taken out would be returned 2 months later they where still taking out fees. So I returned and spoke with the manager once again I was told all fees from first request for cancellation would be returned. 4 months from first request I received a refund of $30 dollars. My refund should have been $80 what a scam have been a member for 3 years .Very disappointed.
Expérience positive: -Pretty good equipment supply and condition; 4 squat racks and most of the equipment needed for powerlifting, bodybuilding etc. Lacking a couple common machines such as a lying leg curl. -Staff seems very friendly. -You will not beat the price. -Largest issue is overcrowding during the booked workouts. Feels like everyone is stacked on top of one another, and there are some days where it's nigh impossible to get in a squat rack during the 1:15 hour workout window. 5:30 PM weekdays seems to be the busiest time.

Expérience fantastique: Has everything you could ask for in a gym. There's free weights, lots of space, and all the equipment you need for any form of fitness regime. Everything is sanitized. The staff are great, and they even got the physiques to represent the brand. Should mention that there is no wifi, but that's a non issue since you shouldn't be on Instagram anyways during your workout.
Expérience fantastique: Staff is always friendly. Physical distancing followed by staff. There are some people who obviously don't know how to distance or just don't want to. Be wary.

Expérience fantastique: [Update Nov 2024] ⚠️ Request to Fellow Members ⚠️ : Please u̲s̲e̲ Gym Equipment for the exercises it was designed for. Please p͟u͟t͟ Gym Equipment back in its proper place. Please w͟i͟p͟e͟ down Gym Equipment after use. It has been 7 years and I remain nothing but happy with the staff and management of the gym. Tyler continues to be an absolutely fantastic Manager, ensuring that the gym is consistently clean and welcoming. Tyler has chosen great staff members who take the job of maintaining the gym and promoting a healthful and welcoming atmosphere as seriously as he does. "The leader sets the tone", as they say, and our Nanaimo gym reflects the commitment to an excellent environment in which to workout that Tyler is dedicated to. Now, I want to say that the vast majority of my fellow gym goers are considerate people who take care of the equipment with as much care as I do. I tip my hat to you all. Unfortunately, now I feel compelled to bring attention to my fellow gym patrons who do not treat the equipment and subsequently their fellow patrons with the same level of courtesy the majority engage in. First, using gym equipment in the way it was intended. It is self evident, but equipment is designed with specific exercises in mind. When used in a manner for which it was not designed, the equipment is put under undue stress which will eventually result in damage. Case in point : the Assisted Pull Up Machine. The APUM is designed for Pull/Chin Ups, Tricep Dips and nothing else. Yet, I see people performing Glute Press Downs using the machine on a regular basis. The pad is designed so that equal pressure is placed on both the left and right portion of the pad where a person's shins would rest. This equal distribution of weight is how the pulley system and all the related pins are designed to accommodate the user's weight. When a Glute Press Down is performed, this is exerting force on only one side of the pad, and places uneven stress on the pulleys and cables, while simultaneously straining the integrity of the pad, brackets, and pins. This will lead to frayed cables, bent pins, damaged pads. Yes. It doesn't happen immediately, its cumulative, but every rep performed with the wrong exercise is damaging the machine far in excess of regular wear and tear. One of the APUM was out of commission for months. Are Glute Press Downs incorrectly performed using the APUM solely responsible? No, but its indisputable that they are contributing significantly to earlier equipment failure. Here is part of an email message I received from CORE the company that manufactures the APUM. "I am writing to remind you of the importance of using the chin dip equipment correctly to avoid any potential damage and ensure its safe and effective operation." "Proper Form: Ensure you use the correct form and technique when performing exercises on the chin dip equipment. Improper use can not only damage the equipment and increased wear and tear of its components but also lead to injuries." "Thank you, E.R Core Health & Fitness, LLC" So, to my fellow patrons that are using the APUM for Glute Press Downs, please stop. You're damaging the equipment and contributing significantly to its premature failure and need for repair. Consider your fellow patrons who also want to use the APUM and for its intended purpose. Second, as has been an issue since I first started going to the gym, there are more then a few folks who seem to ignore the very clear signs around the gym requesting that patrons "put away their equipment" and "wipe equipment down" after use (I'm paraphrasing, but the message is unmistakable). I can't count how many times I've gone into the studio and found the studio exercise mats had been folded in a haphazard manner and tossed in a heap besides the studio barbell rack. Or, the dumbbells in the studio stacked outside of proper order, with dumbbells missing their pair. I've often had to go searching for the dumbbell I wanted. Is it really so difficult to put the dumbbell back in its proper place? Great gym. Let's keep it so

Expérience positive: I enjoy the gym. It is set up well and kept clean. Customer service is another thing. Just because the prices are low is no excuse not to provide customer service. I do not like the faceless front of businesses that are emerging these days. I want to be able to call a head office when I have a question or concern and I can not do that with this company. In order to get the help I need (I need to go into the gym during staffed hours). That's fine if I'm going in, but I want to take care of my issue now, over the phone, not when I eventually go in there when the staff is there. Think you can get personal service on their facebook page instead? Nope, they are rude and unhelpful! I'll keep my membership because I'm in an agreement and because I want the exercise, but I think in the future I would personally rather pay more and go to a gym that is closer and has a commitment to treating their customers like they matter.
