Expérience négative: Hi there my friend told me to try out this location as a gym because i needed a new gym to join, first impression is terrible, some of the staff doesnt even say when you say hi to them especially the females how rude of them.They also keep bothering me and my friend about personal training, which frankly i dont know what idiot would pay for those services because i dont know if they really knew what they were doing it was like a circus act. In addition the equipment always brake down and even the guy who look tall and big was really rude just because we accidentally use a space that had cones around it. Due to the first impression of how bad the gym and management was i was better off working out at a community gym than here. I heard they also take your money for unnecessary fees. I advise you not to waste your time here.

Expérience positive: Not a bad gym, but if you compare it with the gym in Brentwood - the shower room is in disrepair, the doors of the shower stalls do not have locks, they constantly open involuntarily either inward or outward, for some reason there are no shelves in the shower stalls themselves, soap and shampoo you either have to place it on the floor or hold it in your hands all the time.Also surprising is the lack of a basic bench for hyperextension, a machine for the gluteal muscles, and a machine for bringing and abducting the legs. I'm adding to my review and increasing the rating by one star, for installing shelves in the showers, thanks to the management of the gym for listening to the needs of customers. There's just a little bit left to fix before reaching five stars.

Expérience négative: I think this may be the only time I had ever rescend a Google review out of the entire history of writing Google reviews which isn't that long maybe a few past years but I'm come see people read my reviews a lot more than I thought. I talk far too much honestly but I value honesty, hard work ethic, integrity, loyalty, authenticity and most of all going above and beyond to serve others these are qualities the Canadian Armed Forces even just for reserves. It frustrates me to no end that my personal trainer and best friend was let go from his position since I worked so vigorously well with him. I have not only passed the fitness test with flying colours, I was the forerunner of the 12 candidates that did the test. I was the best of best as I went first for all 4 test and inspired courage and perseverance to all my fellow soldiers. No failed and I feel that takes strong and support leadership to accomplish such a feat. The tests are not that difficult however as both acting test facilitators said "The only way you fail these tests was to be not fit enough to pass or quit". The first 2 tests are legitimately hard, without Kevin Yee unwavering dedication, loyalty, hardworking and expertise I could have legitimately failed the first test of the 80 m shuttle run and that's a hard pill to take if I failed that. In Kevin's own words "Richard runs like a mad, if you see coming towards you then get out the way he can and run you even though he tries not to as much as possible he did play community football as a corner back and defense linemen and those are defensive positions in Football now offensive positions." I rarely go to the gym more at Club16 because my workout buddy, best friend and personal trainer aren't there anymore, it's not the same thing without Kevin Yee. He is the older brother I never had but got anyway, he is one of my best friend for a reason, even the whole personal trainer dream was something I went with and supported until he got the job. If I was Hiring manager I would gave another month to see if Kevin could more renewals and new clients. I understand the difficulty of being a team leader, I've wanted to be in military since 5 and in special forces as international counter terrorism team leader since 13 so believe me my expertise is battlefield tactics, leadership and warfare. I've never been in real war but all the video games I played setup me for the foundational and advanced skills and knowledge so that as team leader and no one dies. People die but if you even prevent one unnecessary job then you doing a good job but you always better. Special Forces operates in such secret their identities are essentially top secret classified and well protected Intel, so if you join special forces no one who ever met you ever sees you again because that would mean the citizens you serve especially family and friends just say goodbye plus you can never tell anyone outside authoritized military and government personnel. It's not a life for everyone but for me some who is getting older I would still do because even losing one life that should not have been taken is unacceptable for me as long I live. This the kind of commitment that most can hardly ever understand, if someone earns my trust and respect there is a high probability that they keep. That probability is 99 percent as there is one percent chance your are a horrible traitorous snake in the grass and you will betray me, for that I respect you yet never trust you. I've had a extremely difficult life but that's hardened my inner circle or trust and loyalty which someone who doesn't know can't ever really have my loyalty and I am an overly excessive person to understand person. To my friends and family I'm their Captain America but I'm not Steve Rogers or Sam Wilson or even Bucky Barnes, I'm me for all who am (Yes Kevin does hate some aspects me like my stubbornness but those aspects are overshadow by my good qualities as previously mentioned). Take this review as you like but my opinion about this gym has changed, I like the space and equipment but that's it.

Expérience positive: getting rid of one hydro-massage chair after adding the infra-red cocoon pod and red-light therapy pod is the reason I didn't rate higher. there's more demand for the hydro-massage chairs and so now there's longer wait times. this means more potential of added wear and tear breakdowns, and more "out of service" stoppages while the lone massage chair gets serviced. the staff and the gym otherwise is great though.

Expérience négative: My buddy had the pass that allows one guess with him. Upon arrival the front desk lady said it has to be out of town guess no one from Vancouver was allowed. My buddy told her it was explained to him that he could bring anyone yet they still didn’t honour their promise. When I asked if I can talked to any managers the front desk told me without membership it is impossible for me to talk to a manager. Hows that make any sense? Even when I signed up for free pass I still want allowed in cuz my address on my id says bby. It was extremely unpleasant customer service experience for me. All of my friends will cancel all of their membership from this gym. Also members cannot bring their backpack because some ppl just keep stealing from this gym. Just due your job and increase your security instead of punishing members for the gyms lack of management. Unbelievable!

Expérience négative: Gym facility was great- excellent variety of functional equipment and space. My review is based on reception and honoring what was advertised and was told to me over the phone and in person regarding 3 day trial and access to the sauna (see website and photo). When I wanted to try a session of the IR sauna I was told that I cannot have access to it unless I sign up for a full membership- when I had told them this was not my understanding, they refused to honor what I was told or on the website. Small thing to argue here to lose a potential member. Says a lot.

Expérience négative: Get a better booty builder machine please. Even the “same” one we have that golds gym has is subpar. Improper mechanics. Need better thrust machines. All the other gyms have it!! And also turn on the air conditioning (is there even air conditioning?) No one wants to work out in a sauna And I pre paid my membership before and wanted to upgrade but they wouldn’t allow me to unless I forfeited what I paid and paid again for the new membership which seems completely unfair to me. More of a community centre vibe. But spacious at least.

Expérience positive: Enough equipments for body builders or strength training but the layout makes it very challenging to have super sets. It's all over the place. The CrossFit area is prioritized for trainers. It's a good place to workout if you can work around their schedule. Compared to other Club16, overall a respectful and a better environment.

We'll just a reminder you need to give 30 days notice oohh and if in that 30 days you have 3 billing periods you need to pay even though your 3rd one is 2 days away from 30 days you still need to pay that 3rd week being you are now paying for 45 days you won't be using. SCAMMMMMM.... They say oh we are sorry and all sympathetic. BULL. I've been a member for over 2 years. I guess loyalty means nothing to these people. Will not recommend club 16 to anyone.

Expérience négative: Charged me for late fee of $21.00 when my auto payment stopped working. Called in customer service and forwarded me to Head Office and they said that they have sent me a text to update my payment before I get charge fee, I told them I didn't receive any text message and they showed me some spreadsheet that they have "proof" the text was sent to me. I don't think one spreadsheet like this can proof anything, and the fee was really absurd and ridiculous.

Expérience négative: $50 club enhancement fee that increases every year but nothing ever gets enhanced. Some of the broken equipment have been broken for years like the leg extension machine. Update: Its been about 4 months and the lat pulldown machine is still broken. There's a large new rolling bin for cable attachments, which would be great if there was more cable attachments than the few that keep getting stolen or lost Update 2: It's been one whole year with no fix. Every time you ask a staff member about a broken machine they'll say parts are on order. Nothing is being fixed but prices keep increasing. That response from owner is a complete lie too. They don't help

Expérience négative: My worst gym experience till to date, primarily due to the staff, especially the personal trainers, was incredibly disappointing. Their attitude was rude and unhelpful, leaving much to be desired in terms of customer service. Moreover, the gym management even went so far as to lock Inbody measurements machine, giving the impression that members were there merely to observe rather than to engage in a productive workout. The equipment maintenance was subpar, with loose barbells posing a safety concern on multiple occasions. Additionally, the lack of beginner-friendly equipment, such as hyperextension or supported pull-up machines, further detracted from the overall experience. My advice: stay away from this gym.

Broken equipment crowded and busy at almost all times filled with teenagers smells horrific the change rooms don’t even have any paper towel the she’s fit area is small, not air-conditioned feels like you’re working out in a crowded dungeon. I wish I can give a better review as the personal trainer that helped with was awesome (Kris) but the first time I tried to cancel this person at the front I forgot his name but he was Asian with black hair and glasses he let me know that when I finished all my training sessions I can cancel my membership and it will be paid off so I finished my sessions and go to cancel my membership then this lady(Lisa) at the front who was quite rude and lazy and even had a bit of an attitude with my mom, said I had to pay off a 300 dollar balance from the personal training which we thought would be paid off when we finished the sessions. Then when we asked for the total of the personal training it said it was 700 dollars which is ridiculous because when I first signed up this girl who was white and had brunette hair said it was only 500 for 12 sessions that’s why we agreed to it we never agreed to 700. SO EVERYONE PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY DONT GO TO CLUB 16 THEY WILL BURY WITH SECRET PAYMENTS THAT THEY DONT EXPLAIN WHEN YOU SIGN UP

Expérience négative: As much as I would love to give a higher review for the personal trainer of my son, whom I also met few times. The management of this place needs a shake up. Same as most of other reviews. It’s mainly charges. I signed up my son around two years ago. Although their intro pricing is good. After that, they are high or equal to better personal training gyms in the area. But my son’s trainer was so nice so we did almost a year of personal training. The bad: I was checking my CC statements, and I noticed a high charge from them, way more than the monthly fees. It was 3 overcharges. I went to the club to question the charges. I was told that it was late fees. I said impossible as I am set on auto pay. The girl asked for a manager. A so called assistant manager came. And she said that the CC on file was declined. I said impossible. She asked me to contact my CC provider which I did in front of her. The company said that the reason was putting the wrong expiration date by the merchant. When the club told my son that the credit card on file was expired I gave them the new expiry date. We all make mistakes, so the employee put a wrong expiry date in the system. I found out when the manager turned the screen towards me to prove that everything was right. I told her that it’s your mistake as it’s not my fault. So they charged me $20 extra for each time the card was declined. When I asked the CC company how come they were able to charge me the extra charge. I was told that they manually used old authorization numbers to charge for the extra. Which is technically illegal. Although it was a straight forward easy to fix mistake. The manager told me that they would investigate. I know it’s going nowhere as she’s not willing to help from the start. Of course I disputed the charges and won. Not only they lost all charges for three months. They also lost a customer, word of mouth. And got this nice review

I joined Club 16 at the beginning of the year and I’ve gotten trainers in the past and all, but life happens and I ended up having to be matched with a new trainer in mid November. Couldn’t be more happy with the change. She’s not only so careful with the sets she gives you, but she’s following your routines as you go to monitor your improvements. I’m not even exaggerating, but within 2 weeks I could start seeing incredible results. She makes the workout so fun that you truly don’t feel the hour go. Totally recommend Holly Jang! If you want to start meeting your goals for 2024, totally drop by Club16 Richmond and request Holly!!!! You will love her workouts and energy!

Expérience négative: When I consulted, it was made clear that I needed a way without any restraints, with no contract and no clauses, and as a result, they would charge a lot of fees, and when I thought it was not very good to quit, I was told that I would have to pay a service fee for a year, and I would have to wait for a month before I could stop, during which time I would have to continue to pay three deductions, which would be paid every two weeks. I applied to stop on November 14th, and I could not come to the gym on December 15th, but they would continue to deduct money for the next two weeks on December 14th, which is the overlord clause, but no one explained this to me when I registered, and I was very disappointed with the service here, which is really a bad experience, I hope to remind friends who want to join to be cautious

Expérience négative: I've been a member for 2 years at Richmond. I find the price is reasonable. The problem is over the last 6 months the womens side of the gym has become a dumping ground for useless machines and the space is so cluttered that there isn't anywhere to put a mat down and I find it very frustrating cause there aren't enough places to work out with the weights. Also, The female members here don't put equipment back so you have to hunt down the dumbells. As well its not a great gym because the staff doesn't clean the gym regularily either but stand around reception. I've been to coquitlam 16 and it's so.much better.

Expérience négative: They don’t have proper tool. Couple of machines are broken over month. I always have to ask the receptionist to get the bar from she fit side it happen every time. They need to buy multiple tools for each section. I told this so many times to the staff but nothing improved. Picture in the review if they can take an action because sometimes there staff doesn’t even know which tool I am asking for.

They pulled the classic bait and switch tactics by emailing me with one registration price and then doubling it when I arrived. Also, I was scheduled to meet with a worker, but she dished me off to the manager before a word was said. Expérience négative: Was staying next door at the Sandman. Was told this gym was available for us to use. Showed up at 8am for a quick workout with my wife and two kids. Was stopped at the front and told that because I have kids with me that I'm unable to use the facility. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told I can leave my kids unsupervised on the couch , unsupervised at the front of the gym if I want!! Like how does this even make any sense!! But that we are not allowed to use the gym with kids. My kids are 10 and 7. They are well behaved and know how important it is to get exercise. I will say that after the way I was spoken to I will never be back. There are no signs posted anywhere that says children not welcome or adults only. They seem to make up rules on the spot , and then get mad when people question there policies. Brutal absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. Steer clear of this place and their woke policies. Will never step foot here again. Thanks for reading.

Keeping this environment secure requires members of an appropriate age and we have an age restriction requiring unaccompanied minors aged 16 and under to not be present on the gym floor, in the Group Fitness studio or using Member Access areas at any time without a guardian. We understand it may have been inconvenient but hope you can appreciate why this is necessary. We regret that you won't be back but thank you again for taking the time to make us aware of this situation.

Expérience fantastique: Nice big space, good collection of self-torture devices. Parking can be a bit of a pain at peak times. Taking photos inside a gym would be weird, so here's a picture of my dog instead.

Expérience négative: Sign up for a personal trainer and get the price couple of months they start to charge more . Not happy and they don’t reach out to you and when you call them they don’t respond walk-in there it’s a knew person. It’ like they can’t keep staff.not happy the ways it’s run.
