Expérience fantastique: The Royal Glenora Club is fantastic! The atmosphere is welcoming, and the parking is convenient, making it a great spot for families. I attended a small event in one of the smaller rooms to meet the German ambassador visiting Edmonton. The event was very well-organized, with excellent food and drinks. The recent renovations have truly elevated the space—it looks and feels amazing. Highly recommend!

Everyone was polite, answered questions appropriately, and was very professional! Thank you Carol and your team! I would highly recommend hosting an event here!

Expérience fantastique: Probably the best 'club' I've been to in Edmonton. They have lots of amenities here. Including a swimming pool, tennis courts and a restaurant. Now obviously to come here you need to either be a member of the club or a guest. It is closed off to most of the public that way meaning that the people coming here are very respectful of the facility and so is the staff making it a much more enjoyable place to be.

Expérience négative: I was trying to get in to watch the Edmonton National Bank Challenger tennis event today and was refused because i was told the event was sold out. No problem it’s full, my bed i should have checked beforehand. I asked if i could just watch from the outside hallway window. No… On the next counter, someone doesn’t have a ticket but a member offers her to come in as a guest, then another one. I ask so it’s not exactly “full” is it? This was answered by “Sorry”. No attempt to make it workout whatsoever. I then text my friend that are at the event telling me there is a lot of space inside…

Expérience fantastique: Volunteered for the week’s tennis tournament and I only have good things to say about the Member Services. They are so friendly to each person that walk in and genuinely caring. I haven’t seen service like that in awhile. Keep it up ladies!!!

Expérience positive: We were there for a Ball with @WhenAficanWomenTalk. It was beautiful. The venue, the food, the atmosphere was stunning. If you are hosting an event this venue would be one to look into. The quality of the food, the service, the space was just so elegant. It came out at the fight time each time. They cleared the tables on time. And the night just ran so smoothly. The decor in the venue was stunning and it just felt like such a beautiful way to spend the night out. This is a side note: I saw they have a family washroom which was helpful because it's more private but if you are there long term, is there a room for mom's who are nursing? It would've been helpful to have a space to nurse or pump inbetween events for moms who are still breastfeeding. Perhaps even having a space in their which a chair would be helpful for moms in the family room. All the other rooms that were available with no events have glass windows and its definitely not private enough to use in a pinch. I have a little one and I am sure with 400+ guests for an event there was one or more moms than myself who could benefit from a space we could use for nursing or feeding baby or pumping. Just an idea.

Expérience fantastique: Leading edge physiotherapy operates out of the Royal Glenora. They are the best at helping people get back to activity and free of pain. Shout out to Chelsey and Matt.

Expérience fantastique: All the staff here are very friendly and accomodating. All the facilities are brand new and they keep on improving. The kind of peope who are coming here are the high value that you like to surround with. This is a good place where you can meet and learn more from other successful people in different industry. It is worth to invest into this establishment.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice modern club with swimming pools, tennis courts, badminton/pickleball, squash, basketball, restaurant, full gym, skating rink, nice patio area, banquet centre and much more. Safe and very family friendly. Lots of parking and a great view of the river valley. The entire facility is very clean and staff are friendly. I would recommend to anyone to join! They also host a lot of private events and wedding here that I heard are very well done

Expérience fantastique: We had a special family celebration on the afternoon of Sept 10, 2023. We were very pleased with the staff, food, service and ambience of the Braemar room which was recently renovated. We liked all the light from the wall of windows and the connected big patio. We are not members of the Club but were treated extremely well and professionally. Carol (catering manager) was very prompt in responding to any queries, in providing great advice, coordinating with the Chef and the inevitable changes and adjustments. A very positive experience in dealing with Carol, her colleague Semhal and the on-site supervisor Mansour. We would highly recommend the RGC.

Expérience fantastique: I go to RG Spa. I see Renata , I usually get a 1 hour massage & as a treat I've had her 2 hour massage. The weekly massage helps significantly improve an ongoing medical issue. All the staff at RG Spa are fantastic & friendly. I highly recommend all the services at this spa.

No stands, brutal sound system, benches are poorly designed, can barely see the play from The timekeepers box. Clearly a arena that’s not built for hockey that’s for sure.

Expérience négative: We recently moved in the area and I went today to visit and get more information about the club as it is 5 minute away from our home. The information on the website is very limited, problably this facility is not for younger families:)? I cannot believe the unfriendly attitude and the unwillingness to help of the front desk staff. He seemed unprepared for the job, and made us feel we do not belong there. We got no information whatsoever and the whole experience was unwelcoming . I never visited a club or leisure facility and be received like this. So disappointed...

Expérience fantastique: The renovation at the Royal Glenora Is largely complete and it’s a sight to behold. The transformation has been amazing. Hats off to all the members who have endured significant inconvenience during the construction as well as the impact from COVID restrictions. We now have a world class family oriented sports club nestled in the views of our river valley. In addition, our dining room and lounge provide a wonderful experience whether you’re looking for a casual meal to watch the game, or a beautiful supper inside or on the patio over looking the river valley. Leading the charge we have Scott Hippee, CEO, with years of club experience right here in Edmonton.

Expérience négative: The Royal Glenora club was built in 1961 and since that time has been almost entirely neglected until the current renovation. Currently, there are 7 indoor hard courts and 3 synthetic outdoor clay courts with numerous squash courts a small gym with a dated indoor pool. The gym is so sad in fact good life fitness puts RG to shame. There are several conference rooms and a very sad bar with pool patio. The layout of the club had become increasingly dated over many years of complacency. As a result, a major redesign has been planned and is currently underway - mostly making the club unusable to members. Originally, there were extensive plans to cover the outdoor tennis courts, but due to cost over-runs due to poor ventilation and engineering trouble the entire design has been made to improve those features over improved facilities. The extent of the re-design is now more cosmetic and not really something that is worth paying for as a new member. The costs are for a new member $10k plus the $7.5 k for the redesign. Each year members that are not greater than 65 pay $4k with a $500 dollar capital levy. For a young couple there is childcare, but this is not included in the yearly dues, you pay each time that you use the club. There are two private golf clubs that you can't gain access to if you are a member anymore. My experience at the club has been by and large not worth the money that is paid each year for the facility. Many of the programs that you sign your kids up for get canceled due to lack of others signing up for the sparse number of offering in comparison to the Derrick club. The tennis courts are not much better than public courts that I have used in Vancouver with a leaky roof, uneven ground and cracks in the foundation. The pool is so old that even with ample cleaning there is precipitated calcium residue on the exterior of the pool. The hot tubs are decent, but small. On top of that the paint on the pool deck is so slippery they have had multiple people falling and getting injured and have done nothing other than putting a band aid on it by putting a few mats on the surface. The gym is small, has no variety for machines or weights and even when there are only a few people there you are waiting for equipment. I have found a membership at good life far surpasses the quality of the experience you would have using this gym. The cafeteria food is by and large inedible and will cost at least double the amount that you would pay going to any chain restaurant in Edmonton. Under cooked chicken dishes and steak not worth eating on multiple occasions. The bar and kitchen has never actually changed the food menu in the year that I have been using the club and the beers consist of domestic benign brands. Terrible drip coffee is available only. The thing that makes the membership even worse is that despite the average age of the club being 65+ they do nothing to encourage the younger membership to try and revitalize the club and the fact that those of working age are basically subsidizing the geriatric population at the club makes this something not worth the investment. For years the membership of the club has been dwindling while other partner clubs such as the Arbutus club and the Calgary winter club have active membership wait lists to join. This club has no wait list. I believe the real problem is the lack of effective management at this location, although the CEO tries hard he is generally aloof in performing even the most simple things to make the club run smoothly. For all of these reasons, my best advice is to stay away from this club and put your money into something more worth while rather than throwing it away on this dump. I might add that they recently did a second cash call due to inept planning and management. And with regards to the management comments below the pricing I have listed is likely higher as they keep on raising prices while decreasing services to members. The Derrick Club, Saville center, Black Hawk, Mayfair, Glendale clubs are all far superior options.

Expérience fantastique: I can’t say enough. This facility is top notch! Royal Glenora always goes above and beyond for all of the business meetings I book there. First and foremost, the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I would be totally stressed without them. Secondly, the food is absolutely delicious. I actually heard one of the meeting attendees say, “This is the best lunch buffet I have ever seen”. My gratitude goes out to the staff for always making it a great experience.

Expérience positive: It's for the rich. I felt poor being in there. It was for my kids Grade 6 graduation. There are other facilities in the city that are just as good for an experience.

Expérience négative: This Club was once the best of the best. It now consists of outdated and unkept infrastructure. Poor food services and an self-serving membership. What happened to good old Alberta pried and hospitality. Over this past weekend the club hosted a provincial Badminton tournament for U11,U13 and U15 and we found ourselves playing only on 4 of the 5 courts because the membership apparently didn't want onlookers viewing from the lobby area as it inconvenienced the members. With this came three long days with young children playing games well past 10 pm on Friday, Saturday night till 11pm and Sunday till 6pm. As I see it a hosting organizations when committing to an event puts all effort in putting their best foot forward and the Royal Glenora knows better. Shame on You !!
