Expérience fantastique: Hands down the best gym I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to various gyms in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver) and this is the best. The price is higher but it’s worth every penny. All the equipment you could ever need, big facility, always clean, friendly staff. 10/10

The equipment feels like it’s been shipped from the future, the staff are knowledgeable, approachable and incredibly friendly…best front desk in the biz..the community is the perfect balance of supportive and inspiring. It’s the kind of place where you might set a personal record, and someone you’ve never met will still high-five you like you just won a gold medal. A gym where progress feels inevitable. 10/10 would PR here again.

Expérience négative: Extremely disappointing experience at this gym. The staff is incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. I signed up for a membership, only to have them cancel it just three days later without giving any reason or explanation. When I reached out to ask why, they just ignored me. Not only that, but they refused to give me a refund for the days I didn't use the gym. This place is a scam. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Expérience négative: I’m leaving disappointed. I was really excited to sign up for this gym because I saw that they offered boxing, so I went to ask for information. However, the woman there was very rude and dismissive—she didn’t let me see the gym or give me any information. How am I supposed to sign up for a gym I can’t even check out, especially with staff that rude? It's her job to provide information, and she didn’t do it. I went at night, and I remember the woman had a dog. The only good part of my visit was seeing the dog, but the service was terrible i went on a Sunday.

Expérience positive: For those who are looking at membership pricing to join, membership is starting at $57.5 BI-WEEKLY ($115/month) with $115 sign up fee. The gym is decent with good equipments but the price is just not justifiable for me. "Personal opinion"

Expérience positive: Good gym with lots of variety. 10/10 powerlifting section and equipment, perfect gym for powerlifters. Lots of heavy dumbbells, adjustable benches which are very good quality, and many different bars. 4 deadlift platforms, the best bench presses, and many squat racks. Average bodybuilding equipment and brands (some of the equipment is amazing like Prime, Cybex, and Atlantis, but there's only a few of those brands in this gym and the rest of the selection is just okay), but makes up in this area by having a lot of machines. Gym has long hours which is great. Doesn't get too busy. Great staff. Many accommodations. Besides the equipment choice, the only other problem is that the price is on the high end.

Expérience fantastique: I joined Genesis about a month ago and I’m so happy I did, it was literally the best decision I made. I love the equipment, staff, I love that there’s ventilation and it has never smelled like sweat like my old gym did ant times. The machines are separate enough and things don’t feel cramped up. I truly enjoy my workouts here and it’s always clean and organized which I love! People are respectful and I simply feel very comfortable here!

Expérience fantastique: About a week ago, I signed up. I am a former personal trainer and due to health challenges, I have not been proactice with my fitness regimen in the recent years. I regularly seek chiropractic and cranio-sacral therapies. During the Covid, I temporarily used Planet Fitness. This gym exceeds my expectations. Everyone is super friendly and kind. I am at a stage where I am rebuilding my stamina and fitness levels. This gym is equipped with the state of the art equipments and is spacious. At times, it feels quite and private, specially the calm zone. Kudos to the staff for making you feel welcome and at home.

All the boxing coaches are amazing at what they do and their overall performance in experience is at a high standard. The gym is very lenient with class times which makes classes easy to attend, and it never gets too busy so waiting for machines isn’t usually an issue at all! definitely recommend

Coach Elroy is such a passionate coach and is always happy to teach you whether you are brand new to boxing or even if you’re an experienced fighter Boxing gyms are usually very intimidating but I felt very welcomed from the first day I joined the gym and I’ve been here ever since. Additionally, the facility and environment are top notch. You have every piece of equipment that you’d ever need and all the staff and members are very friendly. Highly recommend at least coming for a drop in session to check everything out!

Over priced, over crowded, rude staff and at best an average gym if you can actually find a spot to work out as multiple sections are reserved for extra cost.

Now it’s full of teenagers Busy all the time So many ppl w an ego Girls walking around basically wearing no clothes And i got no email or warning about the price increase Also they are getting rid of the women’s section which is great for women that don’t feel comfortable downstairs.

Expérience négative: I have been going to Genesis for years and throughout the entirety of the time I would give the gym 4 stars until just recently. They increased prices and apparently notified members via email, but I never received one. I went into the gym to workout, was pulled aside, told my monthly fee would nearly double, and if I didn't want to pay it would be cancelled immediately and I was told to leave. Today I get an email from the front desk saying that my membership ends on the 8th, so I was told to leave, even though I had already paid up until the 8th. After my already bad experience, the least they could have done was just let me get my workout in that I had already paid for. On top of this, the increased prices come with a bunch of "improvements" that I doubt anyone cares about. If you think a fake grass wall with a neon sign and an ugly water feature justifies a price increase, I guess go to Genesis. The bathrooms are always disgusting, they increased cleaning frequency but it's still bad. The environment has always been kind of toxic in this gym, worse so than most gyms, and that's why I would have given it 4 stars before. It also was the best place for access to barbell training and just overall size, but over the years the "influencer" types and wannabes have genuinely been making the gym a much worse place to spend time in. Save your money, go somewhere else. Realistically the gym deserves around 2.5 stars fairly but that's not an option. It's still big with good equipment for barbell training, but I wouldn't recommend anyone go here. If you're serious about competitive lifting, go to a specific competitive lifting gym, if you're just trying to go workout, go to any other commercial gym or even the rec-centre. edit for reply: I can assure you I was calm and respectful when I expressed my concern over the price increase, and was told that if I didn't agree to the price increase, my membership would be cancelled effective immediately and I was no longer welcome to workout. I think if you read this review, you can tell I wrote it with a fair approach based on my experience and I don't appreciate you assuming I breached the code of conduct or harassment policy, rather than just admitting possibly your staff made a mistake. If anyone reads this review, I would think about how management responded to my valid concerns by insinuating how I must have acted poorly, rather than apologizing for any fault their staff may have taken part in.

Expérience négative: If you're looking for an over-priced club 16 full of wannabe fitness influencers and teenagers with little to no gym etiquette, this is the perfect gym for you. New management is sleezy at best. Also, any review you see on here mentioning the BOXING club, it should be noted that those were all posted before new management made some sleezy adjustments. It is not the same club it was. Some new equipment, a face lift, and finally hiring proper cleaners isn't enough to cover the sleezy under belly of this gym. The majority of new equipment is simply replacing existing equipment anyway, so it's still super busy. Edit: it's also come to my attention that they've taken it upon themselves to jack up the membership rates of existing members, so if you think they have any loyalty to their (long term) members you're strongly mistaken Edit 2: In response to the owner. In order for it to be defamatory, what was said would have to not be true. From speaking with a multitude of people and my own experience, I stand by what I say to be truthful. If anything, I've downplayed it for the sake of this review. Don't forget the 12+ people who have found my review useful

Expérience fantastique: A remarkable facility that provides a diverse range of workout equipment. The owners show great attention to detail, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Moreover, the gym includes a boxing area with skilled coaches.

Expérience fantastique: Boxing gym is great. I've only had a great experience getting coaching here. The best part is it's open all day and there's no specific class times like in other gyms. This makes it easy to attend specially if you have unpredictable schedules at work/school. You pretty much get one on one style training with coaches which gives you the most value out of your sessions.

Expérience négative: Not pleased at all with the management and how I was treated as a long time member. Without any notification I was charged extra fees (multiple times), and when I inquired about the extra charges I was told that it is not their problem as they deal with a third party company to manage their billings. I tried to reach out to the third party company (ABC Fitness), but of course there is no way to contact them, it is an automated service which no option to speak to an actual representative. I looked into ABC and turns out they have a lot of complaints about extra charges and continuously charging clients. Long story short, they were rude and uncooperative so I ended up cancelling my membership after being forced to pay a bunch of extra fees. They blocked my email address after I requested to cancel my membership so I had to follow up by calling them several times to make sure they would stop charging my card. Very unprofessional. So much for supporting a local business.
