Expérience négative: I canceled my Fit4Less membership in March/April and received both verbal and email confirmation. Four months later, I noticed they were still charging my account. When I called to address the issue I was essentially blamed for not noticing the charges sooner. The manager sent me an email saying... "However, I can't give you an assurance because if there are still charges on your account despite cancelling or getting confirmation of the cancellation, you would have noticed on your banking transactions and would have called us and confirmed right away. But once I hear back from Head Office, I will send you an update." After several frustrating emails and a visit to the gym, I finally got my refund, but without a single apology. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and customer service was disappointing. - Ruth

More cables, smith machines etc. A separate room for abb workouts would be nice. The gym dosent have a water fountain which is the stupidest thing ever. The owner could buy even a water jug, just a thought. The fit 4 less in Red Deer is way nicer and less busy.

Expérience négative: They have duplicates of the least popular machines, and only one of the most popular machines. It feels dingy and unlike a gym. Sunridge's location has a way more open and welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness is fine at both locations.

Expérience fantastique: It's a great gym with lots of equipment and no clutter to add value. At 7.99 per two weeks, I don't need a shower room or a water dispenser. It's worth every penny. The staff also work very diligently, always replacing sanitary products and wiping machines. I need to increase my muscle mass and reduce my body fat rate through a lot of adequate training, and I am a RMT my job also requires me to have stronger muscles, and more equipment gives me more choices. I'm also very happy that the location is great. It's right next to my new job. It's such a blessing to be able to work out right after get off work. Even my off day, I still come and spend a few hours. This is the best place to refuse useless socializing and enhance personal physical fitness. I love it and I will recommend it to everyone I know.

Expérience positive: I got curious and checked out the gym for the day. It's a medium sized gym and packed with equipment. For a low cost gym I was expecting old dingy equipment however, I was quite surprised that their equipment quite literally looked brand new. The equipment they have looked and felt nicer than most 25-30$/biweekly gyms. Newcomers please note that there are no locker rooms, just washroom, a separete changeroom and lockers outside. Overall I give it a 4.5/5. The only issue I had was the smell. It does smell musty inside and it's not very pleasant, something management should take a look at.

Expérience positive: When my friend said to me that I should check this gym, I confess that I was a little bit skeptical about trying it! I used to be a member of a "boutique " gym in Asia, Alaska, Oklahoma... But bc it's very close to where I practice the BJJ, I decided to stop by. I have to say that I am amazingly happy with the quality of the equipment!!! It's clean, friendly, safe and fits in everyone's pocket, the price is perfect!!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the unit where I go doesn't have the water fountain yet. I invite you to try it too!

I cancelled and had them charge me for another I month, that's their policy, that’s fine, they then continued to charge me. I called and was told they had no proof of my cancellation and I’d have to pay another month again.

Expérience positive: This is the gym I constantly go to, so this review is genuine and hopefully it helps new gym goers decide if this is the right gym for you. To clarify, this is one of the cheapest gyms in the city, that being said, it's great value for the price. It has everything you need in a gym to workout any muscle group, although the gym isn't huge, it usually has enough equipment to accommodate everyone. 24 dollars a month is a steal of a deal, it's also a 24 hour gym. The machines aren't the newest, but the facility is well maintained and is clean, gets the job done. They do offered different plans for memberships as well, so make sure to check that out when you are selecting a membership. Don't expect anything too fancy when you walk in, you're there for only one reason, to make gains! Now go lift some heavy weights you champs!

Expérience fantastique: Update: Have since been informer that you have to scan and go through the gate really fast. I feel like there should have been obvious signage indicating this. My son is otherwise quite happy with the gym equipment and fees. The rep also refunded us for our pass which I appreciated. Bought a guest pass, scanned it, light turned green, tried to open gate and it wouldn't open. No one to talk to. Don't like leaving bad reviews but what else can one do.

Expérience négative: The worst fit4less I've been to. I just moved here and its terrible. The free weight section is small and cramped. Only 2 squat racks and their not even full cage. Also today I counted 5 machines under maintenance and their all popular leg machines. I know it's a budget gym but I've been to other fit4less locations that are much better than this one.

Expérience positive: My home gym. For the price, I can't really complain, free tanning, massage chair and hydro massage. It's never too busy, so you can usually get on the machine you want. Other locations have more machines, but there are enough to get a good workout. It would be nice if they can get kettle bells.

Expérience négative: Someone stole my jacket and open locker. My money, bag and documents were stolen. Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful when it happened and days after. Safe yourself time and energy and go somewhere else. Maybe is cheap, but also overcrowded and dangerous

Expérience fantastique: It's definitely a good location. It gets pretty busy, so make sure to manage your times well. Machines are being kept in good condition and it is always very clean. Wish it had showers, but we cannot have it all.

Expérience négative: Was visiting for Christmas time from Winnipeg. Used this gym all week. Horrible facility. Staff sits in the office doing what? Floors are disgusting with wet melted snow gravel tracks from people in and out. No one cleaning it up. Most paper towel / sanitary stations are empty. Equipment is uncleaned (Never saw any staff cleaning equipment and I was there 5 days in a row for 1.5 hours each time)! No scale in the facility No water fountain in the facility. Equipment is uncleaned. No mirror by change rooms. No showers. Don’t get me started that you get what you pay for. Other Fit4Less facilities have these amenities in place, and staff that are attentive. Compare Fit4Less St Vital Center in Winnipeg for example. Spotless beautiful facility. Won’t be back to the one on McLeod Trail in Calgary.

Expérience négative: ***UPDATE*** For those with New Year resolutions, read this entire review. Homeless individual passed out in the vestibule and police called where he resisted them. Apparently there are other incidents of the same and thefts at this location. Could be you next time. I can't get a refund now, so I suggest you research wisely. ***Will Fit4less respond - Appears that management responds only to good reviews!!*** Please read this entire message as it is lengthy. To begin with, me and my spouse were Fit4Less members before and we were satisfied with this gym. One exception is that some members believe the health and safety regulations do not pertain to them. Otherwise, good gym for the price and equipment available. We moved away for 2-3 years and there were no Fit4Less gyms in our town. We then joined a GoodLife gym, which is Fit4Less' parent company. But joining again with this gym, I notice nothing has changed. The following are my observations: 1. A significant amount of members walk in right past a sign saying they require to change shoes worn outside. Completely disrespectful of posted rules. 2. At any given time 25-50% of equipment has a notice that they are undergoing maintenance. For example, recently 7 out of 15 treadmills were out of service, and numerous types of equipment do not work for displaying heart rate. 3. Noticed that a significant number of members do not wipe down their equipment after use. Again, no respect for the health and safety of others and the rules. 4. At times there are only 7 members in the gym, but there are 30-40 pairs of abandoned shoes on the racks. Hardly room for those that do change out of outdoor shoes to place theirs. 5. A significant number of members wear sandals, Crocs or other shoes to workout. There must certainly be rules against this for the safety of those working out. Liability on injuries. When we were members of GoodLife Fitness, none of the observations above would be tolerated. I spoke with three Fit4Less attendants about item 1 and all acknowledged the outdoor shoe rule and stated "I try to do my best to stop them" but not once have I seen anyone turned back or at least given a warning. On one occasion, the attendant even scanned a member in and followed behind him while he walked by the shoe warning sign and didn't change into indoor shoes. All of the above could be easily rectified by management stressing to employees of the rules and the need to enforce them. The same type of person that thinks the regulations do not apply to them would be the same person who does not wipe down equipment, wears inappropriate footwear and/or works out while experiencing cold/flu/Covid symptoms. Again, good gym for the cost, but come on management and employees step up and start enforcing rules, get the equipment fixed, put up a warning about abandoned shoes and then store them in the back room. I'm getting frustrated by getting "lip service" and excuses time again. Not only does this result in low reviews at Fit4Less but also extends to the parent company GoodLife Fitness. I'd much prefer to modify or delete my review and increase your customer base if I noticed just a simple improvement in the issues above. After attempting to speak nicely to the attendants, nothing changed; it wouldn't take much effort. Maybe Alberta Health Services has regulations about health and safety in gyms.

Cancelled my membership within a day and got a full refund. It's possible my high expectations were too high and would say you get what you pay for.

Expérience négative: Scam artists. Signed up a couple of months ago, paid my fees, and everything seemed fine. Got 2 emails after a month that there was a problem with my banking information and I needed to verify my info to make the payments. So I called, ready to verify my information and make sure everything was correct. Girl on the phone tells me there’s no issues with my account and it must just be an issue with their system. Fast forward to today and my membership has been cancelled, card no longer useable, and I have to re-register and pay another registration fee to get another card. I get that it’s a budget gym but this is ridiculous.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent beginner gym. Very welcoming and low judgement atmosphere. No contracts and easy to sign up.

Expérience négative: I started using Fit4Less in the MacLeod Plaza location before COVID hid. It was new, everything was nice and I felt it was great value. Then I started to notice increased amounts of broken equipment just sitting there, with no fixes in sight. Then COVID hit and the policies were confusing and changing every other day so I ended up staying away while still paying my fees. Recently I wanted to get back into lifting but wanted something closer, so I signed up to a closer club and wanted to cancel my membership that I've been paying continuously without actually using the gym - well, good luck with that. The phone number you're supposed to cancel through is never answered, thus no way to cancel payments. I finally got my bank to cancel payments and ONLY THEN did I actually hear back from Fit4Less - demanding payment! Their response was that while "staffed" they answer their calls - well, I guess they're not staffed that often as multiple calls went unanswered. Anyways, if you're not already with them, look elsewhere, otherwise good luck trying to end your contract.

Most of the machines are either broken or equipment has been misplaced, in the end, you pay for what you get. The ABSOLUTE PINNABLE is when the medical beam scale broke, it has been out of commission for months. Hear me out gym brothers and sisters, do we not go to the gym to make ourselves feel better about our bodies?! Now that the scale is broken I feel worse than before. Absolute thrift store gym. My self-esteem is now at an all time low, no one will ever look at me the same way again. I have now developed an eating disorder, I will probably never get laid because my hopes are down and my morale has hit rock bottom. Know your worth kings and queens! Don't be like me.

Expérience fantastique: Love going to this gym, it has the best price out of every gym there is for what it has to offer, it has a great atmosphere, the staff is amazing especially the new staff member Jayde who has made the atmosphere much more comfortable to be in the gym. Overall all the staff members are great. My only concern as well as what other members may think are some of the machine equipment being broken. My solution is to have a fundraiser where if finances is tight then myself and others could donate what we can to improve the places necessary equipment. As a dedicated gym bro, I got you owner of my favorite gym. If only I could thank you more in person, if it wasn't for you to run this business I never would have gotten laid without the help of this great gym haha. I re-started my health journey last week and her knowledge of the equipment and the reassurance has been a blessing to my motivation! Expérience fantastique: I have been a member at the Macleod Trail location now for 2 months. It has a great energy and is not too big. However there is one staff member that makes the experience so much better. Jayde is kind, funny attentive to clients and a pleasure to be around. She is a treasure and she deserves a raise or at least a pat on the back.

I am very happy that the fit4less team fixed this because I enjoy this gym and the workers at it. My previous 2 star rating was harsh, but unfortunately you need to make a lot of noise to be heard. Thank you and please treat your staff to some coffee/donuts (or the healthy alternative).

Expérience positive: I like this gym for the price you pay. My only issue is the assisted pull up machine has been broken for over a month. I understand leaving a machine broken for a bit when there is multiple, but for the machine where there is only one, I think those should take priority.

She’s always mad, if any of the people ask her questions I’ve seen her get mad at them. She genuinely has an angry face all the time no matter the day or hour.

Expérience fantastique: This location has great staff, great equipment, and quite spacious for such a low price. Some people still feel entitled to get more for only $15 per month, so they mindlessly complain without recognizing the incredible low price they pay,.

Expérience négative: Miserable management who hate their job. No hospitality, customer service experience and you can see that the lady in the office wish she wasn't here and hates her work. As a customer, I don't like it. Pay people more or hire someone else. Every day I come here, I see this rude person. Doesn't even want get up seating behind the glass at the entrance and looks annoyed if you ask for anything.
