Expérience fantastique: I started coming to this location to take Kevin’s class, he helped me get used to the gym and has been always willing to help by giving proper advice. I am pretty introverted so not enjoy trying something new places or people much but he introduced the classes he runs in other locations and also other instructors’ classes too. It gives me more time flexibility with my work (Georgia Club is located heart of DT so very convenient), so I challenged myself by coming to the Georgia location based on only trusting his recommendation. I expected it could be a bit crowded because I usually go there after work and it sometimes bothers me to decide to go as my personality but once I get into the gym I get somehow motivated by people exercising hard there. Also, I very appreciate to front desk staff who is welcoming with a smile. When I asked for help, I felt listened and they tried to help with prompt action, I felt very secure. (I am so sad that I didn’t keep her name) I love Emily’s Sunday morning class so much I can see she cares for every single person by memorizing our names and encouraging them. She tries to move as a team so we all can have a good time together. Needless to say, Kevin’s class too. It's not just one type of class he runs, I love spinning although it's the toughest to me, Total Body Strength, WORX, Core Pilates (I love doing it with the Pilates ball! Unfortunately they don't have it here..but I still so love it) I need to turn on the notification to book their class. It’s not easy to make every person feel satisfied as we all have different goals, but I can see them trying their best to support people with consistency and patience. It’s been almost a year that I have been a member of Fitness World and it’s my second time to leave a review. I am so thankful to find this nice and affordable workout place and heartily thank all of you and Kevin for being so helpful and supportive.

Expérience négative: This place is a scam. I had a one-year contract, but they charged me annual fees twice. First of all, the annual fee isn’t mentioned in their advertisement for 9.9 bi-week stuff nor in the sales speech. When I gave them my card, I realized that there was a charge for that, but no one told me before. If I knew, I would’ve cancelled this membership. Second, when I freeze my membership, again, no one told me that they will charge me half of the price for the frozen period. Also, when you freeze, the term exceeds one year contract, so they still charge you another year’s fee, even if you freeze for one more month(say normal 12mons——after freeze becomes 13 mons). You cannot claim your money back. Lastly, the security was also terrible. I lost my down jacket here. Sometimes there was no front desk and easily let outside people in. Bad experience and will never come back.

Expérience négative: I know we don’t have a lot of affordable gym options downtown, and this is one of the better ones, but I feel like they are overselling their memberships. This gym is always way too busy to get an efficient workout in, or sometimes at all… people crawling over each other to find space to workout, constantly having to ask/be asked when things will free up. I’ve walked in and immediately had to leave numerous times due to it being overcrowded. Also, everyone pays an enhancement fee of almost $60/yr yet there are always a handful of machines out of order and take weeks to be repaired or be replaced. The men’s washroom is always filthy, I won’t paint a picture of the condition of the bathroom stalls most times, and the soap dispensers are often empty. I don’t think I’ve ever seen cleaning staff until around closing time. Please get your capacity under control or spread out your members in the future. At the very least, keep the facilities functional and a little cleaner, our fees can’t just be covering overhead costs…

Expérience négative: Terrible service & disorganized gym. Tried the free three day trial on Monday and Tuesday at the Georgia location. The gym was dirty, overcrowded, weights everywhere, not enough weights and the staff were all at the front standing around. Tuesday I got a call in the morning and again at 7 o’clock at night, telling me to come in on Wednesday and forcing me to book a time because they will have free food live music and lots of other great things and need to have a time for me. As usual fitness world disappoints. I went at 2:30pm and there was no free food. There was no live music. When I pressed, I was told the food would be from 4 to 5 so come back. Then I was told at 3:30 pm that the food and music got cancelled the day before which is strange because I got calls promoting it the day before. Then they told me they were going to bring smoothies at 4pm to replace the food and instead, they brought two smoothies to fill up pixie cups. Everything was just promotional. Even more hilarious one of the people from head office had a bucket of big chocolate bars when I went to take one she said “it’s for the staff.” The bucket of suckers were for us suckers I guess. One of the members who had called me the day before, was also confused why he had been told to tell customers all this information if it was not true .On top of that I keep getting back to back messages 15 minutes apart telling me it’s customer appreciation day today (Thursday). Obviously I’m going to block them now. Christina Update: I thought I had blocked their number, but a couple hours after I wrote the above posting it to their headquarter location, I received a call from them again, asking me about how my three day trial went lol I started to mention things above, the man said he couldn’t help me and literally hung up on me. I called back to ask why he would be so rude to hang up on me and he said he couldn’t help me. Such a vast difference between reviews. The one star review seem more authentic and less contrived. It makes me wonder.

Expérience négative: I went for the 3 day trial. The trainer asked me to come on weekends and then started giving false info to sell me the membership on the same day. I bought into it. He told me that i could pause my membership for any no of days and for free of charge. I confirmed this multiple times as i had been burnt previously at other gyms where they hid similar info and i had to pay full price even for paused weeks. He also hid the gym maintenance charge that the fitness world charges after 2 months. On top of all this, on weekdays the gym is hell crowded and wait times for certain machines could be long. That is understandable but I was already frustrated by this point. Please don’t believe everything they say as they would say anything to sell you the membership. Make sure you get everything in writing whatever the person is selling to you for security.

Expérience fantastique: First time here at this location. The manager Katy gave us an excellent tour and overall provided an excellent gym experience. Expérience fantastique: Hiii! My friend and I have been thinking for a long time about going to the gym, and this gym was recommended by a friend. True enough, it is a great place to get started on our journey to becoming healthy! Alejandra attended to us and explained all the subscriptions and other details to get started, and she did a fantastic job. She also introduced us to Dylan Hunt, our trainer! He did an excellent job teaching us the basic workouts to build our foundation. He also explained what to focus on based on our body types, mobility, ROM, and proper posture during the workouts. Kudos to Dylan for his excellent guidance! Thank you for making our gym experience so positive!

Expérience fantastique: I've been a member at Fitness World for a few months.The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating,the staff are friendly and helpful. A big shout-out to Katy the new manager, who has really made a positive impact since she arrived. She's always approachable and happy to answer any questions. I also want to give a huge thumbs up to my personal trainer, Jason. He's knowledgeable, motivating.His energy is contagious and helps me push myself further than I thought I could. The staff, especially Hazem always go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported. Expérience négative: Really old equipment and small space for too many people going there. I have been in other fitness world around Vancouver with better quality and newer equipment. Also a couple times on Sundays wasn't open on time, I was waiting for 15 min and nobody was there.

Expérience négative: What is going on here? They supposed to open at 7:00 am, I arrived at 7:50 and weren’t open yet, we were waiting for at least 20 minutes and nobody come. Actually one girl said last week happened the same thing. We come to this gym because it is the one that opens the earliest. They were people there that had been waiting for more than an hour, if you are not going to open at the stablished hours, I suggest you to change your opening hours on your website to avoid confusion

Expérience négative: I came to this gym for an introductory trail and was bamboozed into a membership which I went home and did further research and found the manager had not been transparent on what would be included or current promotions, upsold me on private sessions which were already included and happily took my money. A classic sales tactic I can accept as I should have said no and looked further into this. However I felt deceived and ask about a cooling off / grace period to cancel with in the day of joining. I could not get an answer out of the manager, Hazem. They also proceeded to take money out of my account and insist on making it an authorized bank debit so they can continue to take this and make it very hard to stop the payments. At this stage I had only been with the club a couple days and had paid for the fortnight, joining fees and PT sessions. So I tried the first PT session, I did not like the club and did receive the fitness and nutrition plan promised so requested to cancel my membership. The club insisted I come down to do this by which stage Hazem was very icey and I was not keen for another intimation session so they eventually agreed to process the cancellation and refund the remainder of what I had paid for the PT sessions which was agreed to Now for the fun part - I still have not seen a cent nor can I get a reply from manager Hazem apart from the occasional email saying hell do a request. I have followed up 8 times and requested the details of another contact to assist / submit a complaint to. All ignored. This was in June .......its is now August. Coming to google reviews is a desperate attempt for someone from Fitness World to please help.

Expérience fantastique: A BIG thank you to the most amazing personal trainer Mina! She has extensive education in kinesiology and knows how to get my body back in shape (I’m well into my sixties, had recent hip surgery plus manage back issues). She is slow and methodical plus understands the limits and progressions of muscle groups, fascia and stabilizers. I’m forever grateful for having met her and for the grand progress I have made since we started working together (April 2024). Expérience fantastique: After months of postponing I decided to sign up today, got a great in depth tour from Zoom who was very knowledgeable and thorough the whole time, After showing me around I bought the "Fit" bundle which is only 17 bucks bi-weekly and includes a tanning booth and several recovery machines varying from massage chairs to hydro beds. Shortly after getting home I grabbed my gear and headed down with a friend who's been a member for a few months now and wow am I glad to be back! After not working out for two years the session was both humbling and also refreshing, despite being busy the wait time per machine was surprisingly low and the building has a/c which is a big plus this time of year. Safe to say I will be coming here regularly and seriously look forward to training here from now on.

Expérience positive: Adequate equipment. As many massage chairs as lifting benches. Staff occasionally fail to show up (eg today). Plates usually left in heaps around benches. Neither staff nor management appear to have pride in their facility. Tolerably busy before 8 AM, godspeed if you want to go after work.

Expérience négative: I attempted to cancel my membership. The Georgia Street location is simply to busy to accommodate my schedule. Zoom informed me this would be the equivalent of the remaining yearly payments. I wanted to buy my way out and went to look for my contract, but it was never emailed to me. This business is shady AF. Just let me pay to break my contractual obligation and things would be fine.

Expérience négative: I registered for Joanne Soh's WORX Class for this coming Thursday and because I missed her classes two times at the last minute, she came to my class yesterday and in front of other people including the instructor of the class threatened me. and in a very rude and unprofessional way accused me!! I am a gold member of the Gym and I'm not accepting this type of attitude, I have canceled her class right away!

Expérience négative: I came to the gym to see what opportunities were offered there. At first everything was fine, they offered to show me around, as well as what types of subscriptions there are. But then they started trying to sell me anything, from starting a meal plan to personal training, even though I made it clear in the beginning what I wanted (I just wanted a subscription that would give me the opportunity to attend classes). I felt terrible and wanted to leave. In the end, I was still thinking about buying a subscription, we went to the computer and there he again tried to sell me the development of a meal plan. In the end, I decided to leave because I felt terrible. Later, I received an SMS on my phone and there was an option to write stop and I will no longer receive SMS and calls, which I did. Today I received a call inquiring about my subscription. I seem to have made it clear that I do not want to receive any SMS or calls. Terrible service!!!

Expérience fantastique: Have been going there for a year. Wasn't really satisfied at first, as it is quite crowded. But given the price and location, it's great. I know they bet on low price to get the volume for other services, but I believe they should do the opposite and cut the volume. It was really hard to find a normal gym in DT.

Expérience négative: Some important rules need to be reiterated to the management: 1. During peak times, it's important to limit cardio machine usage to 20-30 minutes, as it's a widely accepted practice. Unfortunately, there's a girl using a machine with her laptop for 2 hours, which is unacceptable. 2. Staff should kindly remind individuals not actively exercising but occupying equipment while checking their phones for extended periods. 3. It's crucial not to play loud music in the gym out of respect for those who prefer a quieter environment. Anyone who wants to listen to music while working out should use headphones. This rule applies universally.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been training with Alejandro for almost a month now, and I can definitely see amazing results. I’m getting stronger and I’m already losing weight. I’ve been struggling with my knee injury for more than 10 years and was always afraid of adding weights in my workouts; doing squats or reverse lunges was also out of the question to me as it was too painful for my knees, and after 3 weeks I cannot feel any pain in my knees anymore, because Alejandro helped me correct my posture. I can now do everything, squats, reverse lunges and with weights !! He’s very talented, I’m always looking forward to my next session with him because I know I’m gonna learn so much about how muscles work, about new exercices but also the mindset that I need to get in order for me to achieve my goals. He’s not only helping me with my body but also and especially with my confidence, he’s making me trust my body again, telling me that my body can do so much more than what my mind thinks. He’s always pushing me and encouraging me, he’s always there to help me and he makes sure that I know that he’s there for me, that if I cannot do a rep he’s gonna be right next to me to help me, and that’s so reassuring. I’m not scared to feel any pain anymore or scared that I’m gonna get injured, my mind is already starting to shift as I keep working out with him, he’s always telling me that I can do anything, and I’m starting to believe it, that’s why I’m improving fast. Alejandro truly cares about my progress, I can tell that he loves his job and helping people. He’s definitely the best personal trainer I could have ever wished for. Plus he’s so fun, it’s always a pleasure to workout with him ! I could not recommend him enough. If I could put 10 stars out of 5 I would !! Thank you so much Alejandro, I’m so glad I met you !!

Expérience négative: Financial management of the company is a mess. I've been wrongly charged multiple times from personal training sessions without my consent or without having signed for the sessions. I've contacted the manager Graham to have wrongly charges refunded but Graham only says it will issue them but it never does. My advice to new subscribers is to be on alert for fitness world charges and dispute it right way if you think the charge was wrong as you wont get a refund from the company. Aside from that, the gym is ok and my personal trainer, Willy as super awesome.

Expérience négative: I called in earlier in the afternoon and the telephone manner of the staff here was unprofessional. I physically came in at the end of my day to talk to them about closing my accounts (at 8:20 pm) and Martina at the desk let me know she had already closed the register and that I'd have to come back the next day. I walked out, but after thinking about it for a few minutes, I called in again to ask her if that was their company policy to close their computers early. She was horribly rude and asked "how early? Because they closed at 9 and she closed the registers at 8:15 pm". The gym itself is small, overheated, overcrowded and outdated as it is. There's really no reason to stay with them if they can't even remain open to help their members for the entire duration of their business hours.

Expérience négative: The worst gym ever. They take money even after your contract is over. Please take a photo of your cancellation form and keep it. Otherwise they steal your money and won’t give money back. They are terrible scammers. Be careful everyone.

Expérience négative: I don't know how many times I've asked for membership withdrawal. I've already had money withdrawn from my bank account 5 times despite requesting membership withdrawal. I spoke to my manager on the phone and he said he would help me withdraw if I filled out the withdrawal application form and emailed him, but he didn't reply and the money kept leaking from my bank account. The service was the worst and I haven't used the gym for two months and I just had to pay. I sent him 10 emails and he still hasn't answered

Expérience positive: Started here 2 months ago. I've enjoyed going, the trainer i had, Willie, was very nice and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. However like the other recent reviews, I agree that upkeep on this gym is lacking. Sani wipes often depleted (however people are probably over using per visit) Hoist machines seem to shift around and can no longer see reflection on the Shouler dip machine to check if at a good height. Weights left around the floor (but people could also just put them back..) Last week a water bottle was left at a machine, I moved it to the side when I used the machine, figuring they would come back for it as the person next to the machine said she had just left the machine. Yesterday it was still there and finally brought to the desk, so it seems like staff aren't going around to tidy up at the end of the night. There was also an incident a few weeks ago when a male was found sleeping in the woman's changeroom and apparently was seen sleeping on the stairs outside before being found inside. Perhaps a scanning gate should be right at the door. Me and another woman ended up escorting him out. He wasn't a threatening male, small slim frame, and I was not afraid but it was kind of a shock it even happened.

Expérience fantastique: Someone stole my umbrella in the gym few weeks ago so I told the staff and manager to help me and they help me finding my umbrella as much as they can. Finally I can find my umbrella because of the staff named ‘zoom’ and manager! I really appreciated to them! They are so kind and sincere. I’m touched by this gym. I highly recommend this gym!!
