Expérience fantastique: I joined AF PoCo May 2024, i took full advantage of the personal training they offered when signing up. My trainer was Gunpret, I completed my 3 free 30-minute training sessions with her, I was so happy with everything that she was teaching me that i ended up hiring her for 6 months. She was absolutely amazing to work with, she's very knowledgeable when it comes to health and fitness, she definitely knows her stuff. Our training sessions just came to an end, i am extremely grateful for everything that she has taught me and encourage to lift/pull/push my final reps when the weight was going up weekly. She is definitely a no mercy type of trainer and that is exactly what i needed when i joined Anytime Fitness.

Expérience négative: Edit: You can lie all you want about what happened in our phone call. You don’t want to hold yourself accountable for making a pathetic “your mom” joke and then hanging up the phone, so you make up lies like I made fun of the sound of your voice or implied that YOU were pocketing my money. You have not said hi to me “every time I’m in the gym”. It is clear now that your responses to negative reviews are written with the intention of painting a picture of unhappy customers to diminish their honest reviews of your poor business practices. You don’t want to hold yourself accountable for how you handled the situation. You mention yourself the membership can be cancelled without signing, but you continued to charge me anyways, like you did all these other customers trying to cancel. Period. Absolutely ridiculous experience trying to cancel my membership. Never had any qualms with this gym before, actually really enjoyed my time working out here, but the manager is incredibly immature, unprofessional, and downright inappropriate. I had reached out to Anytime Fitness back in July to cancel my membership. I submitted the form online, and got a call shortly after. My recollection of the call was that my payments would be stopped, they acknowledged the cancellation, and that I would come by and return the fob at my convenience. However, I did NOT leave that call under the impression I was required to come in and sign anything to finalize the cancellation. Life got busy, it slipped my mind, and I forgot about the whole thing. Primarily because I was left with the impression that the payments stopped and my cancellation was fine. Fast forward four months and I realize I had still been getting charged. I inquire again and receive a call from the gym manager This call ended up being half an hour of wasted time, with the manager repeatedly telling me I was wrong, and gaslighting me by saying it was my mistake and that I knew the cancellation was incomplete. He took me saying that I knew I had to return the fob as an "admission of guilt" even though it was never explained to me that this was REQUIRED for the cancellation to be complete. He even proceeded to tell me that they require people to come in to the gym to cancel so they can persuade them to keep their membership. Not at all compliant with subscription cancellation policies. They have also clearly been able to send the forms via email during COVID, or forgo this signing completely when necessary. But no, it was my fault for not coming in so they could convince me to stay, and they would not be refunding me for the last 3 months because it was simply my mistake, and that my recollection or understanding of the situation was entirely wrong. It seems all too convenient that a gym with a reputation for making it difficult to cancel is 100% right, and even though the calls aren't recorded, 100% of the blame is on the customer for not recalling the conversation. However, the worst part is that the gym manager proceeded to go on about how it's been a long week, and he's stressed and tired (but it doesn't matter if customers have a lot going on and aren't able to come in for whatever reason to cancel), and then made an incredibly inappropriate joke about my father and then hung up. So not only does this gym take advantage of customers trying to cancel, he's also completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I don't even know this man, but apparently it's solid business practice to end a conversation with what can only be described as a pathetic "your mom" joke. Other Anytime's are great, and this one was great before I had to interact with the manager of this location. Don't recall ever seeing him, or being introduced to him. Staff here has always been friendly and always says hi. I don't even recall this guy being the one that signed me up years ago. Needless to say, stay away from this manager and this gym and take your money elsewhere. Not worth the hassle or immaturity dealing with a man child.
Good afternoon Marvin, this is Lachlan. We’ve met in person before. I’ve said hello to you every time you’ve come in this year. Lying to me and belittling me in private, while rude, is something I'm happy to tolerate. Since you have chosen to bring those lies to a public forum (constituting libel), I would like to provide the other side of the story. In my time as manager of this gym, which I have been for close to a year now, I have had 1-2 people every day come to me to cancel their memberships. It’s a very regular occurrence, which I try to make as easy as possible for my members. We don’t ask for the key fob to be returned, we never charge a cancellation fee, all we do is ask for some paperwork to be signed. When someone calls in, as you did, I am happy to date the cancellation from when they first reached out; I just ask them to come down to the gym to sign that form and get it finalised. This process ensures three things: 1) Everyone is treated equally and fairly. This matters to me. 2) I have signed paperwork, so that if I make a mistake or forget a step, there’s a record to hold me accountable. 3) In cases where cancelling isn’t the best option, I can provide alternatives. Sometimes people ask to cancel because they don’t think there’s any other option, and having a conversation in-person means we get to the root of the matter. I have dozens of members who discussed cancelling at some point, only to then choose to stay, and who ended up happier because of it. Crucially, this is never mandatory. If someone cannot come down, or simply refuses to do so, I will email the paperwork for them to sign at their convenience. However, if someone does agree to come in and chat in-person, I will wait for them to do so. In your case, the fact that you spoke to me back in July, the fact that there is a note from me on your account saying you intended to come in and cancel, and the fact that you knew we were expecting a visit from you all point towards a simple truth: You spoke to me on the phone, agreed to come in and get the paperwork signed, and then forgot to do so. As you put it, “Life got busy, it slipped [your] mind, and [you] forgot about the whole thing.” I don’t like it when this happens; it inconveniences you, and it does nothing to benefit me. It’s a lose-lose. That is why, as of today, your account with us is closed. I would have preferred to do this in August, but I can at least expedite it for you today. That wasn’t good enough for you, though. Instead, you chose to: -Blame the situation on an employee who does not exist -Claim that we had scheduled an unrelated meeting that had nothing to do with cancelling -Claim that you’ve never met me in your life, and that you don’t even believe that I manage this gym -Insult me, personally, both for my line of work and the sound of my voice -Insult my intelligence, the strength of my character, and the values I represent -Accuse me of personally pocketing the money that you have paid our business -Write in to our internal review platform, demanding I be fired -Threaten us with frivolous lawsuits -Blatantly lie about me, on a public forum, to try to hurt the business I work for This could have been simple. It WAS simple. You got what you asked for. If there is anything more that you want, you have my direct, personal contact information. I invite you to do what you agreed to do months ago; have an honest, face-to-face conversation with me as an equal.
Expérience positive: Nice gym, helpful staff... the bathrooms are disgusting, overflowing sharps collector.. smells like piss at all times. Pretty sure all three bathrooms have never been properly cleaned
Hi Robert, As the owner, I was very caught of guard by this comment. I checked our system and we have no record of a "Robert Shields" ever being a member of our gym? I think you may have reviewed the wrong Anytime Fitness by mistake. I workout in our PoCo location 5 days/week, so I'm always chatting with our members and staff to get feedback and ensure we do everything possible to keep our ranking as the #1 gym in Port Coquitlam, and I've never heard anything like your comment before. Our staff is dedicated to providing our members with the cleanest gym in town, as you can see reflected in +250 5-star reviews. In fact, a SPOTLESS gym is one of our "members come first" promises and something we take pride in. Especially with our private, individual washrooms, we're able to keep them MUCH cleaner other gyms that have high-schooler style "locker rooms." In addition, I check daily to make sure our washrooms (and gym) are immaculate. We have a sharps container as an important service for our diabetic members, and it is regularly emptied/serviced by GFM Environmental Services. It is NEVER full, most times being emptied when there is barely anything in it. Are we always perfect... of course not. Can we improve... you bet! Sometimes the toilet might clog, or we need to replace something, and our team handles that immediately. I honestly think you have us mixed up with another gym.

The facility is always clean and well-maintained, with high-quality equipment that’s regularly updated and well-organized. I love that it’s open 24/7, making it super convenient to fit workouts into my busy schedule. The staff, especially Lachlan, is fantastic. He’s incredibly enthusiastic, full of energy, and always eager to help out. Whether I have a question about form or need a bit of extra motivation, Lachlan is right there with a smile and practical advice that really makes a difference. One of my favorite parts of Anytime Fitness is the community atmosphere. It’s welcoming and inclusive, and there’s a good mix of people of all fitness levels, so I never feel out of place. Expérience fantastique: I’ve been with Anytime fitness over 5 years, and this branch is one of the best ones out there, the manager gave me a call to explain how my new transfer to his gym might effect my monthly payment and was able to help me keep my rate which was very solid of him. Expérience fantastique: Good gym for a basic workout. It's on the smaller side, so there isn't that much equipment or space compared to other Anytime Fitness locations I've been to.
Expérience positive: Edit - I spoke with the club manager, Lachlan, who promptly processed my cancellation after I posted this review—kudos to him for that. In the past, I was required to go to the club where I signed up in person to cancel, so I assumed that would be necessary again. However, this requirement was waived this time. The manager claimed that he was never informed by the staff about my earlier request, which is why the cancellation wasn’t processed. However, based on the interactions I had with the staff in June regarding this issue, I can’t leave a perfect score. I’m updating the review to 3/5. —— Watch out, they do not cancel your gym membership. I walked in to verbally agree on cancelling my gym membership in June. I have been since charged in July and August. Because I live in America I can only go home so often, they are forcing me to pay until I come in again.

You left this review before ever making contact with us, and I ask you again to remove the review as we agreed. We do not take verbal agreements to cancel, and you never met with myself or fellow management to cancel your account. There was no attempt made to contact us in any way to cancel your account in the past, and you only reached out to us directly AFTER blatantly lying about our actions in this review. This constitutes slander, and has the potential to seriously hurt our business and our professional reputation. When you did actually take the time to speak to us, I went out of my way to quickly and simply facilitate your cancellation, as we do for all our members when they decide to move on. You yourself admitted to me that your review was intentionally misleading, and yet you have not taken it down as you agreed to do. Despite this, I have still waived the usual 30-day notice for cancellation as a measure of good faith. Please take the time to do the right thing.

Hi Lin, Yesterday we spent almost an hour with you on the phone going over all of this and patiently explaining why this happened. As we talked about, you have a history of being delinquent with your payments. I understand it is frustrating for you, but it is also very frustrating for us when members don't pay but then blame us. We talked/texted with you multiple times that your continued delinquent payments would eventually result in going to collections. However, you refused to work with us and failed to make any payments. Also, please note we DON'T sell your debt to collections companies, that's just a complete lie and is just a ridiculous statement. We try as hard as possible, and do everything in our power, to stop any member from going to collections. 99% of the time we're able to work with our members and figure out a plan or compromise that works for them and works for us. We're local business owners and understand life can be a struggle sometimes. So, we always bend over backwards to find a solution that works for our members. Going to collections is not good for anyone, and it's not good for us either. They only winner is the collections company. Once it's out of our hands and with collections, there is no compromise. Next, you tried saying that you cancelled in January of 2020. Not only do we have a very clear process for this so we can avoid these cancelation issues, but we also make sure the member has everything they need in the process, including a cancelation email/receipt confirmation. In addition, we keep the history of all text conversations. In this case, that included texts from you at a later date wanting to add personal training to your membership. So, it's clear you didn't cancel. We understand your frustration, but please don't make this about us. The issue has always been about your delinquent payments, you’re refusal to pay, and eventually your delinquent account ending up in collections.

Expérience fantastique: Signing up for AF included 2 free personal training sessions. Not something I’ve ever been interested in but was introduced to my trainer Cristy this way and she has totally changed my approach to fitness. She’s fun, positive and motivating and has kept me going to the gym and supporting AF. It’s also a good location and open 24/7. Would recommend!

I understand that you wrote the review on behalf of your husband, as you haven’t been into our gym since last summer. I would love you come in and see the updates for yourself. As we discussed, you can use the LIVE Gym Meter in our app to see how many members are in at any given time, so you can both time your workouts for when we're much quieter; I rarely see more than 10 or 15 members in at one time. Waiting for equipment is certainly a rarity; we pride ourselves on the fact that, as a private club, we have more equipment per-person than any other gym in town. Given that you yourself haven't been by in quite some time, I'd love it if you stopped in to see how we've improved.

Far too small for the amount of memberships they want to give out. Might as well go to a large gym. Not many equipment options (no hip abductors!!!!!) won’t be renewing my membership.

I have been training with Cristy and she makes me feel so comfortable! I tell her about my day and it feels like 15 min later our hour is done!!! She is so encouraging and gives me homework to work on my goals. I've worked with trainers before but with cristy I my body hurts but I still want to go back!!! Recommend this gym to anyone, the positive vibes from all the staff is amazing!

So I asked why is it on their website and apparently they've asked for it to be removed but they won't let them? Doesn't make any sense and somebody should have called and let me know before I wasted my time coming here. Barely even entered so it might be a good gym but poorly managed company
Hi Parsa, After talking with both members and many people interested in joining the gym, we decided to change from a 7-day trial to a 14-day money-back guarantee/trial. That way, people get a full 14-days to try the gym and make sure it's a good fit for them. The response has been fantastic, with 95% of people much preferring the 14-days to the old -7-day trial! :) Honestly, most of the people upset about the 7-day trial are just looking for a free week (just in town for a week, students back home for a week, etc). There is a safe entrance late at night or early in the morning, so I have been exercising happily for over a month. The price is also reasonable compared to other fitness places. There are two places where you can shower, and they are always kept clean. In particular, you can see the coaches working hard for a good exercise environment and exercise skills, and all the members who exercise together do their best to focus on their exercise. Parking spaces are always available. I recommend this place to everyone around.

Expérience fantastique: Spent some time looking for a 24 hour gym due to my irregular schedule and after a little searching decided to try out this place (i used to have a membership at Snap Fitness.) Have to say I'm very satisfied with my choice, the gym is well stocked with cardio bikes/treadmills and a variety of weight machines as well as free-weights/dumbells/barbells, smith press, squat racks, all of which are well maintained, functioning and clean regardless of the time of day or night. The staff are also fantastic. They are all warm welcoming and friendly along with their personal training staff whom are very professional and well informed to help you meet your fitness goals. They are actually the 1st gym I've registered for personal training sessions with and have nothing but positive experiences to report regarding my trainer Gunpreet. They are also very competitively priced and unlike a lot of other gyms I've had memberships too, they don't lock you in to long term contracts allowing month to month so your not stuck paying for a membership you don't use incase you ever decide or need to stop. I would recommend to anyone looking for a gym to join.

All the staff were super friendly and happy to help with any questions I had. When I was ready to sign up, Jessica made this process as easy and stress free as possible! The gym has good quality equipment and it’s all in good condition! I couldn’t recommend this gym highly enough!

The equipment is fantastic and the amenities are much better than previous larger gyms I’ve been to. I love the kind and familiar faces as I walk in the door, and my training with Lee has been impeccable. He has helped me tremendously with my knee mobility issues and continues to do so. I am truly pleased with my decision to go here, and they are available internationally (perfect for a digital nomad like me).

Do they want people to sweat more all over the equipment? Is there a reason they want it so stuffy? There’s only 3 small fans going too. Please don’t sweat us out of the gym! Update* I’m not mistaking it. It was at 74, and now it’s at 72 which is still quite sweaty in there. If you can’t lower it further can you at least double the amount of fans? Compared to Planet Fitness 2 min away it’s a sweatbox
Hi JG, I think you might be reviewing the wrong gym? We set our thermostat at 72F, which keeps the gym very comfortable. The reason why is the HVAC system costs $60,000 and when they installed it, they said to not go below 72F, otherwise it will burn out. If that happened, we would have to use our entire enhancement fund (plus a lot more) to buy a new HVAC system, instead of buying awesome new equipment for the members. So, we’ve never left it as high of 74F, so perhaps you’re thinking of a different gym?

Expérience fantastique: I had been a former member of Anytime Fitness Poco and had wanted to end my membership as I had ongoing medical issues that I could not attend the gym to deal with. I had asked my account to be cancelled/frozen per my doctors instructions, there was miscommunication between the manager at the time and myself, and I ended up being charged the total amount over time and I did not realize this (almost a year of payments). While at first I was upset about this, I was able to meet with the new manager and owners and they kindly agreed to waive my fees in order to assist my medical costs that I needed to save money for. I found this very endearing, and it was really nice to know Anytime cared about their past members, as I am sure they feel the same about their current members. While at first I found my experience unwell, the kindness the new management showed me completely changed my view of the gym and I am incredibly appreciative of them helping me during my tough times. No fans or aircon it doesn’t feel Like… one of the other patrons brought his own portable fan! small facility but very clean… also it’s time to take the cardio partitions down! They’re a pain in the butt to navigate around( this isn’t specific to this location - many gyms still do)- UPDATE. Most of my issues were addressed as best as could be!!

STAFF - I agree and we are so lucky to have such an amazing and friendly team of managers and personal trainers in PoCo. LCOKERS - Yes, we have cubbies and no lockable lockers. However, because we have bank level security systems and cameras, as well as function more like a private club with very respectful members, we have never had a single thing stolen from any of the 4 Anytime Fitness clubs we own in over 8 years! We're pretty proud of that. But I understand it can feel a bit weird when you're not used to it. FAN - We have big fans and AC in the gym to keep the airflow and temp comfortable. During the day we also have fresh air coming in as well. As for the member with his own fan... I'm just as surprised as you are! I will look into that. Cardio Partitions - I agree, it's probably time to take them down. However, when we survey the members, most still feel more comfortable with them up. Expérience fantastique: What I really love about this gym is that it’s not row-after-row of machines. There’s ample space to use the sled, ropes, farmer carry’s, and things like banded walks. Lots of free weights, kettle bells, barbells. And, more importantly, a very supportive and welcoming staff!

Even though my contract has been over (I haven’t even used the building in 6+ months) they still decide to charge me and don’t answer their calls or texts. I know the number is active because they wouldn’t stop sending me texts until I got quite irritated in message. Edit : They also charge me 10x more a month then club 16 which is a way better and bigger facility. Edit 2: You’re phone number is wrong on Google/website. I called number attached and I’m unable to cancel until I go in and give them a 30 day cancellation notice. So I’m paying at this place until I can find spare time to go to downtown poco just so they can charge me another month I’m not even residing in that area anymore and I tried to cancel months ago and got told it’d be cheaper to wait it out.

It seems this issue has more to do with you missing appointments, and not our gym. Maybe you forgot again, or decided to keep the membership? We're happy to help whatever you decide, just let us know. And yes, we are a little more expensive than the low-end gyms like Club 16, because we provide a better membership - including 24-hour access year round, high-end equipment, fewer members, uncrowded, access to all 5000+ Anytime Fitness clubs world wide, $300 Personal Training credit for members, etc. We certainly don't cost 10x more than Club 16. Expérience fantastique: I have just recently signed up and have only been 3 times. In my short experience so far, I have to say it's a great gym. They have all the equipment you need, everything is clean, and there are no line ups to use equipment as no more than 15-20 people are there at a time. The best part so far, though, is how friendly and supportive the staff are. It's only been 3 visits, but the staff all seem to be genuinely very nice and extra supportive. If you are looking for a gym in Poco, I recommend Anytime Fitness.

I’ve trained with Will and with Lee, and they are only a small selection of the many talented trainers there. Both very mindful of my individual goals and needs. In my experience, trainers were very mindful about my goals and were extremely supportive of you reaching them. Even if you may not end up continue training with them, they’re still extremely friendly and always makes sure you see a friendly face there.

Expérience négative: Our son has unwisely signed for a 6 month agreement with them without even reading all terms of the agreement (Initially, I advised him that there are lot of Gyms with 5 star reviews in Tri Cities with very low monthly fees without entering for any deadly agreement but he did not listened to me) and he just visited the gym for few days before he started his university. He has initially paid $ 133.50 for 1st bi weekly payment + for FOB + enrollment fee + bi weekly payment of but noted today that nothing is refundable even though we ready to return the FOB. Once he started his university, he has visited the place and informed that he need to cancel the agreement but they have denied and quoted to hang on the agreement until Dec-2022. Then, he has not checked emails from them and final result was a sort of threatening email from them that his past due amount will forward for an collection agency quoting this would affect to his credit score. I was trying to negotiate with Jessica to waive off at least part of their over due fees as our son is a student without having any earning as well as he has not used the Gym for past several weeks but they denied. If you join with this Gym, please read carefully every single word of their agreement to avoid any subsequent disappointment. They taught us a good lesson to read every single word of any agreement. Any way, thanks god for getting away from them after paying past due amount. I won't recommend this place for any one.

So, I'm honestly confused as to why you gave us a 1-star review? We bent over backwards to help you and your son? They've top notch affordable trainers and the hands-on owners legit care about their customers and their staff. Can't imagine working out anywhere else really.
Expérience positive: Honestly, while you're there it's fine, but trying to cancel your subscription with them is like pulling teeth from an Elephant. It has been since december that i've come into the gym due to ongoing back + medical issues, but couldn't formally cancel my membership without charge until I had doctors notes from a visit months away. Fine. It's in the rules that I have to bring doctors express writing to cancel the subscription. So i continued paying USELESSLY for several months until I served them my doctors note on June 1st.... and just went to check my bank account and i'm STILL GETTING CHARGED. I am beyond frustrated and they won't answer their phone lines, so i'm going to have to figure out how to escalate this and get my funding back. Nice staff, brutal model, subscriptions poorly managed. Edit: This same day I noticed the charges I got a call back a few hours later, with someone who immediately saw the issue and corrected it with re-imbursements. I won't say I haven't been frustrated, but the people working here have good hearts. Hope these system issues get resolved to make a 5 star gym experience

Watch out for their yearly fee to “improve the facility”, they don’t email you about when it will be and will just debit your account and make you go through hoops at any kind of explanation. Not sure where the improvements are from this fee. Also, they won’t refund or take back the fob after cancellation, very unsustainable and a waste (even if you assure them you will never return to Anytime Fitness ever).
Hi Jen, It’s the owner (Nick). I’m have to say I'm disappointed in your review. We went over our yearly Club Enhancement program with you in person, as we do with all members when they join. In fact, you even initialed the box right beside it where it clear says exactly what date it comes out. Its impossible that you missed it and it comes out the same time every year. Its certainly not something to "watch out" for. This review just isn't accurate and devalues all the hard work and resources our staff and us (the owners) put into the making the gym awesome for our members. There are no hoops to jump through and the explanation is about as simple as it gets. As noted above, it's the club enhancement program and it comes out on the SAME date every year. It's not complicated. Our members LOVE that we have and use our enhancement fee to improve the gym, as we use those funds to keep the club super clean, bring in new cutting edge equipment, and hire more staff for better customer service. It's one of the big reasons we have so many 5-star reviews, we keep making the gym better. So this this small yearly enhancement fee allows us to keep improving the gym, and keep it feeling fresh and new. All gyms I know of have a small yearly enhancement program and the cost of ours is lower than most . This year we used it to add another large screen TV in the weight room, painted the whole gym, buy some new equipment that members requested, and also replaced equipment. In fact we are getting quotes on new "Booty Builder" machines at the moment, (which range from $4,000 to $6,000). So I really don't understand when you say you are not sure where the improvements are. It's very obvious that we use the program to make the gym better every year. On top of that, two years ago we did a complete renovation of the gym for our members. That included: increasing size of weight room, tripled the size of the turf/functional area, added more space for personal training, added more cardio, bought additional equipment, and renovated the members private washrooms. Of course, that cost MUCH more than the club enhancement program could cover, so we used money out of our own pockets to finance it. The members LOVED it and the feedback from the renovation was amazing. Overall, the members who use us regularly see all the work we put into the gym each year. So, while we may not be the right fit for you, I'm sure you would agree that your comment of "not sure where the improvements are coming from?" just isn't accurate and devalues all the hard work and resources our staff and us (the owners) put into the making the gym awesome for our members. - Nick (owner)

Expérience fantastique: I recently joined the POCO Anytime location after working out at a Club16 for a few months. I was looking for a gym that was welcoming, had a good variety of equipment, and wasn’t swamped with people at all times of the day—the things I was missing at the previous gym. This gym exceeded those expectations! I was starting to dread going to the gym before joining Anytime but now I look forward to going, and most of that is due to the overall experience I have had here :) Jessica (the club manager) is the brightest face you see when you walk in and is there to help with whatever you need during the staffed hours! The other staff are also very friendly and I’ve felt welcomed since the first day of my contract! If you’re looking for a gym in the area, this is seriously the best you’ll find!

I have been going to multiple gyms for about 7 years and Anytime Poco is my favourite. Never too crowded, friendly staff, comfortable feel to people of all fitness levels.

There was a lot of anxiety surrounding getting involved and exercising in a group setting. As it turned out the staff have always been very supportive and the members are courteous. I would highly recommend anyone in a similar situation to go ahead and join thisgym . You will not regret it . They are a great group of people .

Expérience fantastique: I was looking to join a Gym and called around and viewed quite a few different locations. What stood out to me was the friendly service from my first point of contact with Jessica. She gave lots of interest to get to know exactly what I wanted out of a gym. Came in and met Jessica and her energy and laugh is contagious. Anytime is international and 24/7 which works great for me as I do travel quite a bit for work. Jessica needs to be recognized as she really goes above for the customer having genuine care and pride in her job. Unfortunately that lacks in service these days but definitely not at Anytime Poco. All members of the staff are friendly and there to encourage and assist. Well done!

Expérience négative: Terrible experience. I feel completely scammed. Very hard, high-pressure sales techniques if you try to cancel even when your obligation period is over. For context, I also have a membership for 10/month at Fit4Less and they have been amazing - proactively communicating, an excellent on-line scheduling system during the height of the pandemic, extremely professional, and when I decided to cancel due to covid, I sent one email and it was done. What a difference! I will go back to them in a heartbeat. Back to Anytime Fitness - I unwisely signed up for a year just before the Fraser Health Region became the most dangerous in the province. There was no financial consideration for the pandemic closures and the covid precautions were never enforced. I let my membership period run out and then kept trying to cancel. I got a royal run around. Very unprofessional excuses were continually offered (there's no one in office except between 8-2 and you have to come in in-person - if you can't come during those hours, you cannot cancel your membership; then there were the constant phone calls with a very hard, aggressive sell on trying to talk me out of canceling). Gyms have just been closed again so I know there will be more excuses about how there is no one in the office so as much as they would like to help me, there is no way they can cancel my membership. I'm not sure where to go from here. They're taking the money directly out of my bank account so short of closing my bank account, I don't think I'll ever be able to stop the $70/month-for-nothing money grab. Three months of trying to cancel my membership and nothing but excuses or silence. So unethical.

In effect, it was out of our hands and 100% in your hands. You first reached out to us by email on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:39am. Our general manager (Nate) replied on Thursday, July 22, at exactly 1:06 PM with the message… “I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get the experience you wanted with our gym membership. We normally require a signature for a cancellation however, in this case, I will be happy to email you the form so you can sign it and return it. Once we receive the signed paper, I can set your account to cancel. I will attach it for your convenience.” Your lack of any response, or returning the form, meant we couldn’t process the cancellation. We did what we could, the rest was simply up to you. Secondly, to be honest, as a small business that’s been clobbered (again) by the pandemic, your review is not only harsh, much of it is simply hurtful and untrue. For example… 1. SAFETY: We went above and beyond in following the health orders and keeping our members and staff safe. This was very costly for us but we did it because it was the right thing to do. We spent over $15,000 (of our own personal money) after already being closed for 10 weeks and incurring massive loses and debt… that money was spent on sanitizer stations, a custom capacity monitoring app, a booking system, multiple wipes downs daily of the entire gym with medical grade cleaner, medical grade Fitwipes for member to use, barriers, social distancing, masks, doubled staff hours, etc. >>> Just how safe were we? Pretty safe - Over 65,000 member VISITS during the pandemic and not a SINGLE case of COVID. In fact, not even a single case “contact traced” to us. We are VERY proud of how we and our staff handled it. 2. CANCELATION PROCESS: Normally, members come in to personally sign the cancellation form, but we went out of our way to send it to you so you could return it by email. You choose not to or you simply forgot. However, your review doesn’t mention this. 3. OFFICE HOURS: Throughout the pandemic, we’ve had office hours Mon-Thurs 8am-8pm, Fri 10am-5pm, and Sat 8am-2pm. Again, your review is mistaken on this. 4. NOT HIGH PRESSURE… JUST TRYING TO HELP YOU: We offered you a FREE $300 personal training package to see if we could help get you started again when you mentioned you were thinking of cancelling. That’s a hard cost that comes out of our pocket, and many members really appreciate the gesture as it helps them get back on track with their health and fitness. That’s not a hard sell, that’s a gym that cares about you. I know Fit4Life doesn’t offer that to members. Your review doesn’t mention this either. Lastly, gyms have been ordered to shut down for the 2nd time. We just had to lay off our staff 2 days before Christmas. Now is the time to support small business, not publicly blame us for your mistake.
Expérience fantastique: Definitely one of the best gyms I've ever been to. The staff are super welcoming and friendly, they have always been very helpful and take the time to get to know you. The equipment is all up to date and with the new renovations there's plenty of space.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym. Everybody is very friendly and the equipment in great condition. It had everything I needed and liked. Machines were always available when I needed them even when it was busy. I could always modify my workout so a machine I would need be available.

Expérience fantastique: Awesome place to work out. Keep things extremely clean and safe, the entire facility is brand new, and the crowds are super minimal most of the time. Staff are friendly and eager to help out with anything you need. Will be extending my membership.

Expérience fantastique: Great anytime fitness location. Has 3 squat racks and is clean. I was able to use everything without waiting. Seems like it might be busy during peak times but I went early in the morning so I don’t know.

Expérience fantastique: Signed up about a month ago and I have to say I am enjoying this experience. The staff are very friendly and Ricky was helpful in the introduction process. Equipment is great, the gym has all the essentials you need to have a good workout. Also during most times it is not that busy which is a major plus as the previous gym I went to people would constantly interrupt and ask how many minutes left.
Expérience fantastique: I am leaving Anytime Fitness Poco at the end of this month and signing up at the Gold's Gym next door. I want to leave a positive review for the year that I have trained here. The place is clean and the staff are available and respectful. I came at the time Richard was still working there and he was always friendly and willing to help. Me personally, I take training more serious than the common individual and all the additional equipment and facilities that are offered at Gold's is valuable to me. And the price difference was around $10 so that sealed the deal. I believe this gym caters to people who want a smaller, less crowded space while still providing all the basic equipment that is needed for a great workout.
