Expérience négative: Company has the audacity to charge $25 if you miss a payment for any reason at all, but will then have machines broken for literal months.

Expérience positive: Been going to this gym for 5 years now. Started out well but unfortunately been going downhill. Many of the machines are regularly down for maintenance and working ones are wearing out. Staff are good and always working to keep gym clean and stocked but it definitely is not the gym it was 5 years ago.

Expérience négative: Cheap membership comes with no rush to fix the numerous broken machines. The two stars go to the awesome Tanya...her vibe is like the energizer bunny who works her tail off. It's sad that I have to give a negative review to get my point across. Fix the damn machines & fix them properly!!!
Expérience négative: Terrible experience here the worst fit 4 less I’ve been to so far 8 machines broken and no staff to be found in the middle of the day, environment is more of a social gathering than a gym, people sitting on machines for an hour to do 2 sets

Expérience négative: Terrible experience with this gym! They don’t respect their customers. They don’t explain anything to you when you sign up with them. I signed up and after three days I had a medical condition. Tried to contact but didn’t pick then after a week I contacted them and they said it’s too late 10 days is passed. So they asked me to email them so they will talk to the main office to refund me. I did email, but no reply then emailed again and again. Finally, replied and said they wouldn’t refund my money in fact they charged me for the annual fee and two weeks that I wasn’t even gonna go! I think I deserved my refund back. It was a health issue.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been a member of Fit4Less for a while now, and overall, I’m happy with the experience. The gym is well-maintained, clean, and has a good range of equipment. However, I do have a suggestion for an addition that I think could benefit many members: a trap bar. A trap bar is particularly useful for exercises like deadlifts, as it allows for a more natural grip and supports better spine alignment. This design not only improves safety—especially for those who want to minimize lower back strain—but also makes strength training more accessible to members of all fitness levels. Since there doesn’t seem to be an email contact for equipment requests, I thought I’d post here. I hope the team considers this addition, as it would be a valuable enhancement to the already excellent range of equipment available. Thanks for taking this into account!

Expérience négative: Company has been charging me for about a year after being told it was cancelled. Cannot get ahold of the aloof manager, cannot be provided with a head office contact & they still plan on charging me for their mistake. Yes it’s cheap but for good reason. Employees are useless beyond answering the phone & apologizing for screwing up but not fixing the problem. I legit haven’t been there in over a year too… ALSO TAKE IN HOW MANY 1 STAR REVIEWS THERE ARE LIKE THIS IS A JOKE

Expérience négative: This location has never been a good experience for me. There is never someone at the counter when I come after work on the weekends by the time someone comes to the counter it’s too late to use the tanning, massage bed etc. I am told, however it isn’t accounted for that I have been waiting at the counter during the reasonable use time with no staff available. It’s either been this situation or the equipment isn’t working. you get what you pay for at this location!

Expérience négative: I joined a little over a month ago. In that time, the card readers were broken for over a week, so the gym could only be used during staffed hours. I went two days ago with no issues, but when I tried to go this morning, my card was denied access again. What's the point of having a membership for a 24 hour gym if I'm not able to use it when I want to? It might only be some cards because others were working out, but it's still frustrating to pay for something and not be able to use it as you wish.

Expérience négative: Ok for a discount gym. The problems are: 1) Too crowded during busy hours. Would not be surprised if the gym is in violation of fire code with how many people are in there. 2) There are no rules. Staff does not enforce anything. Last week one guy was completely shirtless using a machine sweating all over it. Today, another guy is barefoot lifting a dumbbell with his bare feet. Gross.
Expérience positive: The gym is nice, there is a lot of equipment. My issue with it is how busy the gym is and that there is equipment that has been broken/non-functional for around 2 months and staff is unaware when it will be usable again.

Expérience positive: Hard to park at 5pm, tight for space
Expérience négative: Clearly they know how to use signs, but yet: Two of their treadmills are malfunctioning and making an enormous amount of noise. Staff has known about this issue for 2 weeks and there's not even a sign on these machines to let people know that they're going to be repaired or should not be chosen over other machines. I suffer from misophonia and I often have to leave because of this issue. How loud are they? So loud, that with my ear buds on full volume, the noise is still loud and clear. Do better Fit4Less staff.

Expérience négative: Whenever I visit, I always see an equipment that is either out of service or in a dangerous state with the potential to injure a member. Look at this loose part of the equipment. I had to to tighten it with my finger because it was loose.
Expérience négative: Equipment is always broken, poor communication about renewals and when extra costs will be withdrawn from your bank account. No ability to speak with customer service on the phone. Would give 0 stars if available. Spend your money at a better gym, don't waste time here.

Expérience positive: been going for two weeks now—it’s fine. things I noticed: - people who use weights rarely disinfect the bars so I have to disinfect them before use as well as after. - they seem to collect a bunch of out of service equipment before calling someone in (got up to four treadmills out of service before a technician came in and repaired them, so for now they’re fine). -some lockers STINK, so don’t rawdog even your coat in there, keep it in a bag. -staff are friendly if a bit absent from time-to-time, overall what I expected from a budget gym. -I go during the week after the lunch rush, and I find that while there are sometimes colourful characters, I have never been harassed or stared at, and there’s a notable population of women of all ages who go to this gym, so I get the feeling of safety in numbers, too. hope this helps! :)

Expérience positive: I do love working out here but it is not the cleanest gym, multiple pieces of gym equipment are not working
Expérience négative: Several machines are out of service, some even being out of service, then "repaired" just to be out of service again. Iy seems they're never going to be repaired properly if at all. You can blame your customers for improper use all you want, which in my opinion is a cop out. These are old machines and it isnt a coincidence they're all breaking down at the same time, they need proper service. The photo attached isnt even one of the out of order machines. The metal is literally cracking. Super safe. But its your only other open Lat pull down machine so you havent closed it. Edit: the weld is cracking* and its impossible to improperly use that part of tue machine. However, I will say, management was super helpfuk and polite towards me. This issue ultimately falls on the owner, not the employees. Penny pinching on work oit equipmemt is dangerous, and yet they want me to pay an additional fee to upgrade my membership on top of the higher cost.

Expérience négative: Staff is rarely ever at the front desk and usually just socializing somewhere in the gym. Also they leave a sign up saying ‘come find us, we’re on the floor’ but since they’re wearing black which is a common clothing colour, you can never find them in operational hours! Why should I be searching high and low. Have someone on the floor and someone on the desk. I plan to complain to head office.

Expérience fantastique: This place is open 24 *7. Which is good for if someone is working in night shifts. The place has separate designated area for abs with the tick leather mats. Separate room for cardio. Also has message room but it’s only designated for black card holders.

Expérience négative: i dont know about other centres but since i have joined Oshawa centre (fit4less) most of the machines are out of service. There is only 1 cross hand power pulley rack for chest cross pulley excercise and whose one side cable is always broken, so no one can train the chest muscle ever. never ever saw that been repaired. and there are 2 leg extension machine and both the machine's cable are broken from last 2 weeks and no one is bothered. Damm horrible management. No incline bench available for normal membership. There is no Power Front Squat Machine, no standing calf raise. I wasted money joining this centre. Above all some lazy chap just come for time waste siting on machines, blockig them and using their mobile.

Expérience fantastique: I'm having a great experience at this gym. I can't speak for all the time because I train early but there is lots of equipment available to use. Five good power racks with good quality multipurpose bars plus benches, etc. For being unstaffed when I'm there, I am surprised at how clean it is. I wish the showers were available when unstaffed, but I can understand why they aren't.

Fit for less charges the same price as planet fitness and gives nothing the gym is dirty the equipment is always broken I saw a guy fall off the bench yesterday because the latch released itself the location has one exercise ball That you cannot use because it's deflated this gym is trash. We need more planet fitnes around Ontario so that I do not have to go fit4less The ritson location is so trash but most of the locations are
Expérience négative: This is the worst gym I ever used. The Worst experience. The older blond lady at the front desk acting like a gym police making me feel very uncomfortable. I’ve been going to this location for 2 years with black membership which I rarely even got to use in full. And since this lady started working there she just makes me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I feel being targeted and discriminated. So as my Afro American husband who’s being treated like a criminal. I go to gym to feel better not worse. The young girl manager was no use at all trying to cover for the other lady by saying the lies after she embarrassed me and my husband in front of other people. And instead of hear me out this “manager” asked me if I want her to cancel my membership. What kind of customer service is it? No manners no proper guest approach whatsoever. Fit for less you just lost my membership because of your rude staff. I would NOT recommend this fit for less location to anybody.

Expérience négative: These scam artists wouldn't let me use the gym during covid. Have been charging me every month since 2019! I wanted to close my account but was told it had to be done on the oshawa location kiosk... but I wasn't allowed in. Now I live 9 hours north, and have tried to close this account numerous times with the same outcome "you have to drive 9 hours and use our computer... now that your allowed in our facility again" . Guess what? I closed my bank account and now they have closed the account! BUT they want money !!! After 3 years of paying them for absolutely nothing. And treating my like dirt . Send me a bill and I'll see you in court!!!

Expérience fantastique: One of the better locations in the GTA. It has multiple squat racks and benches. The dumbbells go past 75lbs and it's larger than most other fit4less facilities.

Expérience négative: Been a member for a year. They cut the gym in half for black card members about two weeks ago. It was packed as it was now it's a zoo, even in the mornings. I have never seen the staff enforce gym editcate. It is a cheap gym and you get what you pay for really. Really disappointed overall as of late. I wouldn't recommend anymore.

Expérience négative: Canceled my membership 4 or 5 years ago and my new accountant just pointed out today that they were still taking payments from my bank. Called fit4less today and apparently when I spoke with the last person at the counter years back that they must have made a mistake and didnt properly cancel my membership. Like 5 years of payments from my bank that I never even realized really add up this is actually unreal that's soo much money that has been taken from me even after I came in person and canceled the membership a long time ago

Expérience négative: DIGUSTING GYM. the equipment breaks all the time. And it never gets fixed. They'll have up to 12 pieces of equipment broken and won't fix it for months. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY if you're white and get harrased by black people, the white person gets kicked out because black lives matter and white lives don't. I was harrased by black people after midnight for weeks until the point were I was kicked out and they weren't because I'm a white boy. I had to call the police on these guys and management banned ME LOL. and it was completely racial. This place is a JOKE..DO NOT JOIN.

Expérience négative: I cancelled my membership and they’re still charging me, I better get my money back or else this is stealing I shouldn’t be getting charged anymore. I got the white membership since I’m still a minor and I had the no commitment plan, and cancelled on May 4 and they still charged me $9.02 yesterday. On May 4 it shouldn’t have charged me after that and it still did. If I don’t get a refund I’m suing because this is theft. I was given a receipt that I cancelled my membership from the kiosk at the Oshawa ritson location and it never said it would keep charging me, because anyone with common sense would know it’s called NO COMMITMENT PLAN

Expérience négative: Do not sign up for this gym. I moved to Toronto and cannot use my paid membership at any other location. The bank can't stop payments to them because they take money whenever they feel & they don't always have a manager on site to cancel your membership. I have been paying 15 a month for more than 2 years without the ability to cancel. It's a trap find a better gym.

Expérience positive: They have good machines. I go in the late evenings so it's not too busy. The early evenings are pretty packed. Staff are barely at their counter. There's been times that I've wanted to use the hydrobed and I couldn't because staff weren't at their desk or no where to be found. And yes this was during staff hours.

Expérience négative: There are a lot of machines that are consistently broken down and for significant amounts of time. It is extremely frustrating when you have routines that you can't follow. My fiancè and I are considering other options for our workout needs.
Expérience positive: 4/5 Good location - spacious - bright - friendly staff. They always make sure all their equipment is functional. They keep the facility neat and clean. Not too many options for leg workout or than than basic 2-3 leg press machines etc. Good number of cardio equipment. wont Have problem finding machines during morning workout.

Expérience positive: Clean gym, positive atmosphere but not over the top ridiculous like at planet fitness for example. People of skill levels from bodybuilders to moms after work, workout here. People there are happy to help if you need it and there is a wide variety of equipment to use. Only thing they don't have is anything like a weight sled or other specialty athletic equipment but if you want stuff like that just go to their parent gym, Goodlife, at the Oshawa Center

Expérience négative: Their gym membership looks great but watch out for the hidden fees! And they won't give you a refund, they just laugh about it and say you could have cancelled them any time, but fail to tell you that at sign up! Not impressed!

Expérience positive: PROS Great place, Staff is nice. Lots of new equipment. CONS BICYCLE PARKING Like many, I would ride my bike to the gym, but was told to leave it in the foyer before you go through turnstyles to enter workout area. There is nowhere to lock it in that area from all the hangarounds and opportunists in that plaza.

Her name was Arlene we believe and she was kind, courteous, polite and had the most amazing customer service. Expérience positive: 3 weeks in. Was reluctant at first because I discovered Fit4less is owned by Goodlife. I was with them happily for many years. Then covid caused David Patchell to be greedy and raise my dues by 30%. No thanks Dave. So this is a cheaper option, unfortunately I'm still putting money in his pocket. At least till La fitness comes calling. The gym is clean and has what I need not what I want. No lunk heads banging weights on the floor and leaving weights laying about. No water fountain?!!! But they'll sell you a bottle. Some machines still broken and no wifi 3 weeks now. Washrooms are cleaner than Goodlife but I'm not sure of the communal showers that guys and girls both use. Over all nice vibe here, with all ages and levels of fitness attending. Goodlife could be betterlife with a water fountain and wifi. *Update* 4 weeks in broken shoulder press machine now repaired. THANK YOU. Renos are being done to one section, seems like a small special area being built for Black Card members. What are the chances of a water fountain being installed while they're making the gym better? We'll see, but I'm not holding my breath. *Update 2* 6 weeks. No renos I was wrong. Bridletowne in Scarborough IS getting those upgrades though.

Expérience fantastique: This gym is what you would call a get in' get out. You go there for your work out and then you leave. I don't find much traffic at this location at all. In fact it's perfect for me because I go at around 12 at night. Practically no body there except the usual people I see. They are upgrading and maintaining there equipment quite well and also very rarely do you see machines down for more then a couple days , if at all. Membership is well priced and there's a supplement store right across the plaza.

Expérience négative: TL:DR If you like to make informed decisions before buying or subscribing to a product, skip this one. I walked in off the street. Could not speak to anyone, no reception, no posters with information. I just had a couple questions. The sign on the desk (inside the gate I couldn’t go through) when I arrived said “Back in 4 minutes”. I waited 10, nobody there. So I thought I’d try the self service kiosk. No dice, I have to provide all my personal info to get past the first screen. No thank you. So I went outside, and called. No answer, no voicemail, just disconnect. Continued to dial for 20 more minutes, no answer. Then I tried calling every location within a 30 minutes drive of me. Also no answer. They must not want new members. Unacceptable. I’ll go to Platinum Fitness instead. At least they make it possible to talk to someone. My visit was on a Saturday @ 3:50pm. Just in case that matters to you.
Expérience fantastique: One awesome place with niche crowd... The support staf are amazing... Gym is super clean with continuous inspection n cleaning process.... Kudos to the team working there !!! A great place to work out

Expérience positive: Overall, it's a good gym with friendly staff. The only downside is that l always have poor cell service there so I wish they set up a Wi-Fi at that location.

Expérience fantastique: Just joined, good gym. Took a few weeks to get my gym bag but my only complaint. No one pressures you for personal training or says negative things to you. Staff is very nice and always offering help.

Expérience positive: Decent selection of weights. Recently the machines have been broken and not getting repaired, but I suspect it's due to the logistic issues of sourcing material from China.
Expérience positive: Clean and well lit establishment. The only downside is that there are certain machines that are always broken and awaiting repair. The thigh machine was off limits with a "damaged equipment" sign for 2 months back in September 2021.
Expérience négative: One needs to address this issue , let’s clear one thing first the staff of awesome they are very helpful and polite, now the main issue the equipment there are more then 6 equipment broken and some of the equipment is broken from more then 2 to 3 weeks. The gym is usually busy and it’s hard , we have wait long. Totally disappointed (could only attach 2 pics .. it won’t let me add more )
Expérience négative: Got charged 2 times and I called here twice to get help no answer the first time the second time there was no employee around to answer the phone and a customer answered like what is going on here do better
Expérience positive: This gym is very accessible for me. Has most of the equipment to do multiple types of workouts (machines, barbells and dumbbells). Only workout it won't be able to accommodate is powerlifting workout as they don't have the proper platforms. But there are deadlift pads, bench presses and squat racks (attached). That can be used to do a pretty effective powerlifting workout as well. Also plenty of cardio machines and a studio area available for self workouts.
Expérience fantastique: Im not even going to comment on the quality of the gym itself - it is around $15 a month, you get what you pay for, there is more than enough weights/machines/benches available unless you are an advanced powerlifter/olympic athlete looking for bumper plates or some other specialized equipment like that. I just wanted to comment on the customer service, which has always been 10/10. The people at the counter are beyond helpful and friendly, so much so that Ive never had any issues with coming in when I forgot my card and when I wanted to make changes to my membership they even helped me out over the phone. You will very unlikely have any issues with dealing with your account here !
Expérience fantastique: If you’re on a tight budget, then this is the gym for you. A lot of people are complaining about the lack of equipment, but at the end of the day; you get what you pay for ($7biweekly). With covid restrictions going down, they are back to being open 24 hours!! Also the staff here are very friendly and courteous, good gym in my opinion.
Expérience positive: Aggressively mediocre. Though it is clean, lots of extra space where they could put treadmills etc., instead they have half of their treadmills/ellipticals blocked off. Also, if a machine is broken/out of order, expect it to stay that way (pretty sure the leg press was out of order for over a year).
Expérience positive: Wish we had more machines for abdomen, really looking to see if we could get one abdomen crunches machine. Would be good if there is one more pectoral machine too! Over all the gym is clean, conveniently located with friendly staff. Jan 31 2023 Big shoutout to Joanne who helped me delete my account and save me from all future charges . At this point I feel bad leaving this GYM but I can’t as I found a place very close to work. Thanks a lot for all the service and the warm sentoff I received LoL!!! Hats off Joanne

Expérience fantastique: Excellent gym. Good equipments, big varieties of equipments, awesome staff, place clean, people who trained there don't judged you. Amazing place. Lots of parking and nice place to do your grocery right after your training. (Grocery, bulk barn, supplement store, costco and booster juice).
Expérience positive: Great place to get a workout.only negative was dust on machines..staff needs to clean a bit better.
Expérience négative: Clean, relatively new equipment. However this gym is WAY too overcrowded. There clearly isn't a capacity limit as it's near impossible to find any piece of open equipment. And to top it off they still have they absolute garbage reservation/time limit policy in effect. What a useless joke that is. If the gym is open and someone has a certain time they're able to make it, then they should be able to go without being kicked out within half an hour of getting there, 25 of which are spent struggling to find a piece of equipment. After spending the summer in the states, it's pretty clear just had bad the Canadian owned gyms are (since the monopoly is owned by GoodLife). They really need to drop this pathetic reservation system and get on with reality.
Expérience négative: I have been going to this gym for more than 2 years. Why do I find that there is an ongoing ventiliation issue. There is a problem with the HVAC system. By law the AC needs to be on given the situation of the world right now. The AC is NOT on in the morning and I am sweating from body heat rather than my own hard work. The members in the morning DO NOT wear their mask nor do they abide by the 2m distance. I get its your choice to come to workout but management and staff should be on the floor to monitor that ALL members are following protocol not standing behind the desk doing nothing. Same machines are always out of order and paper towel dispensers are always empty. I understand that paying 10 bucks biweekly is alot to pay for a membership but cleanliness is important given that COVID cases are rising maybe we should take more consideration of everyones health. If things do not get better I will be cancelling. This is pure disappointment.
Expérience fantastique: The manager and the employees are very friendly, kind and I love how great they are when greeting people walking. They upkeep the 6 feet measures and are always on top of cleaning/disinfecting. For someone who has been very anxious coming back to the gym due to covid, I am thoroughly impressed and love coming back everyday. They keep the gym atmosphere feeling great from the minute you walk in to when you leave. 10/10 would recommend coming to fit4less, especially the Ritson Rd fit4less.
