Expérience négative: It’s a nice gym with good equipment’s for targeting almost every muscle group but whenever you complain to a staff that there is someone who is taking too long on a machine or cables they always say the same thing “we can’t do anything if they are using it”. There is literally a guy who takes 1 hour with the cables and all he does is talk to someone and does a set like every 10 minutes.

Expérience négative: This place is disgusting and dirty, why is nobody in reviews mentioning the stench of body odor in this place, have a fricken shower.... it's free. Not to mention this place is falling apart , old equipment, broken down equipment. I would never go here even if it was free.

Expérience positive: Currently a third of the machines and half the cables aren't usable and it's been that way for a while. The bathrooms are also broken down and cleaning hasn't been the best. Lights are the worst. But, friendly staff and very affordable.

Expérience positive: Good gym. Don’t love the weekend hours though.

Expérience négative: The place is filthy dirty on a regular basis with equipment that is out of order for weeks on end. Urinals that don't work, sinks that have been out of order for over a year, dust bunnies everywhere, vinyl on machines that are not only cracked and old, but worn down to the fabric. Pathetic for a place that charges every member an annual ' $50 maintenance fee.

Expérience fantastique: Friendly staff, lots of options, clean, lots of space, great price. I was a 3-4 x a week member and everyday was a great one!

Expérience négative: Little disappointed it’s been a year almost and still no personal trainers or advisors for planned fitness sessions or work out training wich was why I chose this place they say no judgement but the people in there def are judging in Kamloops

Expérience positive: Nice overall clean gym, came as a guest. Lots of equipment, always something available. Lost a star due to multiple cleaning stations empty. Ended with a hydro spa which was very relaxing, would be worth the member If we lived in town.

Expérience négative: When I asked to downgrade my membership a tall guy with a beard told me to wait 3 weeks to do it because of some billing cycle. So I waiteded the 3 weeks, came.in and then all of a sudden there was a new charge that has to be implemented to downgrading accounts. So I went to cancel and was told it was too late to cancel before the next month's charge came out. All in all, do t trust the tall guy with the beard because he clearly has no idea what he's doing and gives the wrong information resulting in making the company more money.

Expérience fantastique: I'm a member od Planet Fitness in Vernon, BC. I like that the equipment in Kamloops is similar to what I use. So it was easy to search out what I use and just get on with my workout.

Expérience positive: Kamloops can be too hot or too cold. PF is a nice environment, the temperature encourages movement, so that even a walk is enough to be comfortable. Personally, I enjoy the din below my earbuds, but I will try to pull them out and be sociable as well. My challenge is less physical rather than social. I offer my best to all those that just want to go and move their bodies in comfort.

Expérience positive: I just joined up and love the gym. My only complaint is the weekend closing time of 7pm. I work Saturday until 5:30pm, by the time I get off work and get to the gym I'm lucky to get in an hour workout. They should close at 9:00pm

Expérience négative: For two years I haven’t when to the gym knowing I closed me memberships but they still took money off my account. That’s just so wrong. An even if the membership was open someone for customers service should call and say ‘ hi we haven’t seen you at the gym for 3 months.’

Expérience fantastique: I am happy to be back at the gym. There is always plenty of equipment available whether it is for cardio or strength training purposes. I even like the benefits of the hydro massage chair once the work out is done.

Expérience négative: I would give zero stars if there was an option. The Good: Honestly - the facility was great to use and did an excellent job during Covid, admittedly I wished I used it more when I was there. So no complaints about the actual physical facility provided. The BAD: The negative review is because of their predatory billing practices that makes cancellation a colossal nightmare. I moved a significant distance out of town and no longer have a Planet Fitness nearby. Prior to moving, attempted in person cancellations were thwarted b/c 'their was not a staff member available to do that'. To cancel not in person you are required to send a physical letter via registered mail. Further, when you speak with staff locally they are rude and dismissive. Basically ignore their cult slogans about caring. Go for the clean facility and equipment, but be ready for a deliberately obtuse corporate structure, unhelpful staff and a real struggle to remove their hooks from your direct deposit.

Expérience fantastique: Very nice and chill place. Friendly staff and folks. Doesn't have all the weights and machines but you can't beat it at this price.

Expérience négative: Terrible cancelation policy, you can’t cancel without going into the branch, which makes no sense would it could be a simple feature on the app. You can’t even write an email it has to be a physical letter sent in to cancel which is a real pain if you move away and forget to cancel before hand. It now makes sense why they don’t accept credit cards.

To be honest the staff do not help or know much. Paper towel machines not working and more Smith machines & fly machine always out and takes forever to fix ( when asked, staff couldn't answer question). A suggestion, have one manager that people know who it is with a name tag,

Expérience positive: There are limited numbers of Smith machine squat racks in the gym. Since Kamloops is experiencing a lot of students and new members, I think you need to educate your customers as well. Please have a signboard or instruction in front of the squat racks that if there are any member waiting for their turn, please respect them and their time. Do not hand over the squat rack or equipment to your friends. This has happened twice already and happened again last night. Some university students are grabbing three pairs of dumbbells, squat racks and just waiting and roaming here and there while other members are waiting. Even though they have seen that people are waiting, shamelessly hand over the squat rack to their friend at the end of their workout. This is such an unpleasant and frustrating experience someone can have. I don't want to judge, however, this is the club's responsibility to educate customers. While your business is growing, it becomes an utmost responsibility to educate customers and remind them that there are others who also have valuable time. Please have a signboard "Please do not hand over equipment to your friends while others are waiting and respect other member's time" Your front desk also does not have a mature employee to handle such a situation in the evening, they are also young university students. Updated: 7 Jan 2024 The best workout place in Kamloops. Plenty of space, friendly staff, clean equipment and easy to workout. Only if you could add more squat racks and barbell instead of tons of cardio machines.

Expérience négative: Everyone was quite nice at this gym, except I never really felt comfortable. Most of the employees are very young people who stand in a group and seem very shy to talk to us gym goers. They weren't the most knowledgeable either when it came to the equipment and PT information. They all seemed confused and bored. The machines are only in MILES, not KM. I also went to other gyms and used similar equipment because I have other gym passes for work and my clients. And PF equipment says you burn about a hundred more calories than other equipment at other gyms, so it's incredibly inaccurate. I'm sure the vibe is different at other locations, but at this one, it didn't feel right.

Expérience fantastique: The staff are always friendly and accommodating. They also keep the facility very clean and tidy.

Expérience négative: Please be careful! I have left the location because I contracted COVID twice this year due to unsatisfactory cleaning of equipment/facility grounds and bad bathroom hygiene. I observed staff barely roaming the floor cleaning and communicating with patron members. Staff always seemed to be congregated at the main desk talking where cleaning practices is an unfocused attitude. Be aware of signs before signing up.

Expérience négative: 5 Smith machines, and about 200 treadmills and ellipticals. If you're planning to do any form of strength routine, you will probably get the same if you just workout at home with a dumbbell. Machines are NEVER fixed in any sort of acceptable time frame.Your lucky if their paper towel machines work. Do better.

Expérience positive: It's a great, non-judgmental atmosphere to workout in. There are always empty cardio machines and the massage beds are amazing for someone with arthritis like myself.

Expérience positive: I love how inclusive everyone is and how wonderful the staff is for new people. As a fatty I don't feel judged. The staff is very friendly. I would like to attach my wireless headphones to their tvs though and find they could include instructions for connecting to the tvs somewhere. It's just a minor gripe though as I love this place.

Expérience positive: Gym is okay. The equipment is sufficient, but bench presses and squad rags are still missing. There are far too many cadio machines out there. It's often very crowded. But the staff is very nice and helpful and the gym is very clean.

Expérience positive: The ambiance and all is good, but lately I can see if any of the machines is out of order, it does a take a lot of time. There is one of the chest fly machines which is out of order for more than three weeks and when I asked one of the employees they were clueless about when it's gonna get repaired. Extremely Disappointed

Expérience négative: Gym is fine but contract terms are horrible. I’ll have to make a trip across the province in order to cancel my membership. Ownership on me for moving and forgetting to cancel my gym membership, but come on. Predatory membership contract if you ask me.

Expérience positive: Cheap prices, wide range of machines, could use a bench press and squat machine instead of just smiths. Great for beginners.

Expérience positive: Good gym to get a good workout. If you're looking for a starters gym is the best. All facilities and machines available. 4 star cus they don't have a free barbell rod where you can add your own weights. Only smith machines and barbels with weight already on them.

Expérience fantastique: I have been going to Planet Fitness Kamloops over a year now, and all I have is good things to say about this gym. The vibe when you walk in is very welcoming, the staff are amazing and so helpful. This gym breaks the gym intimidation fear I’ve always had and I look forward to my visit all the time. The facility itself it always clean and there are enough machines that you rarely have to wait for anything. Highly recommend!

Expérience positive: It's a good setup and a good price. It's mostly machine based and hardly any free weights unfortunately (mainly only Smith machines). Lots of cardio machines and not enough cages/benches but still a good place for a good price in a pinch.

Expérience fantastique: I love the whole idea of no gymtimidation. Going to the gym can be very nerve wracking for people who don't know what theyre really doing like me. It makes going to the gym feel more attainable!

Expérience positive: All around the gym seems very nice. The staff are friendly, and the other patrons are polite. I haven't felt uncomfortable at this gym very much as a bigger person as there are lots of different types of people that use the gym. Change rooms are big and clean, with showers and lots of lockers available. Update: After using the gym for a while I do wish the hours were a bit better. I wish it was 24 hours or at least that they didn't close early Fridays-Sundays. I understand it's staffing and also probably costs if being open, but I do hope that the hours are expanded in the future.

Expérience positive: Lots of machines. Well maintained with good etiquette from the other clients so everything is clean. There is always extra treadmills if you need them and depending on the time of year you may have to wait a few minutes to get a specific machine. The only complaint I have is that they have very limited hours on the weekends. You can't get a workout in if you work later on the weekends.

Expérience fantastique: I returned to Planet Fitness after 3 years away to find the equipment still very much in decent shape.......the staff very pleasant and welcoming......and the entire facility still able to meet my needs as a fitness enthusiast and former Clinician having worked with amateur and semi-professional athletes.

Expérience négative: I come to gym regularly. Today was sunday night(22 jan) . It was almost 7 and we were just about to leave and was packing up with my workout. The girl from staff came to us and start saying “You have to leave”. It was so rude. I don’t mind someone coming to me and giving me heads up about leaving and closing. But It could be said in a polite way. She was very rude and was probably saying to everyone with same tone. I couldn’t got her name. But she really needs to learn how to talk and I don’t want her to come to me next time and speak with same tone.

Expérience négative: No training on helping if you fall or get an injury. My mom tumbled off of a treadmill and no staff was able or offered to help.

Expérience fantastique: This gym is great, clean and have alot of equipments. Mandy is super helpful and kind and helped me sign up. Overall it’s always great to go to the gym because of the friendly staff.

Expérience positive: I have had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Mandy, the Assistant Manager, at the Planet Fitness in Kamloops. She has been more than amazing for a support and any assistance needed while at the gym. I’m going to greatly miss her shining face when we come through the doors. It won’t be the same attending without seeing her during the week days!

Expérience négative: I signed on last year and they told me in person it would be a year long contract and then after a year I could see if I wanted to continue or change plans. I got a $40 charge on my account so I called to ask why and they said I had to come in and sign papers to get off of a plan otherwise it auto renews. When I asked them if a refund would be possible they said no. So whatever I said I wanted to cancel it and then they said they would cancel it over the phone for me since there was nothing else they could do for me. Then they told me I would be charged for this month too after a call back after I canceled my subcription because it was the 11th and the bill would be the 17th and they needed 7 days. I would argue that thats ridiculous and that technically that is 7 days but whatever. Never recommending this gym and my friend after hearing my story chose to pay tcc $60 a month instead of here because this gym does not care about its members and this last fee felt like a money grab after I said I wanted to cancel they called me back saying id get one more charge. I am so livid and will never be using this gym again. No support, no help, they just want your money. They said they couldnt cancel it over the phone before because I had to sign in person so I was never able to cancel it as I work 24 hour shifts through interior health then they were able to cancel it over the phone after charging me an additional $75 when I said I didnt want to be a member. I had no energy to argue with anyone there I work every single day and thought this gym with its hours would help with my schedule but was never able to attend. Lesson learned. Will never be back. Only blessing out of this is I am not a member anymore. Not the gym for you especially if you are a front line worker.

The staff both am and pm are always very kind and welcoming and the facility is clean and well maintained. Expérience fantastique: It's alright. Staff is incredibly friendly. Sometimes things stay out of order for months at a time but what can you do when you live in a shoe.

Expérience négative: Worst gym with worst and arrogant staff. They try to miss inform you about your charges and payments and if you ask them to explain about the extra charges they make excuses and try to push the issue on different staff members who is not even there at the gym by telling you to talk to that specific person who is not gonna be at the gym for next 5 days. So that they can make you quit trying to get your money back.

For real though, they lock you into a membership then make you physically go there to terminate it like it’s 1900. Snakes will just take your money then kick you out for breathing while you exercise.

Expérience négative: They are the worst customer service , they kept charging me for a membership i cancelled more than one year ago. Thank you for sharing your email but i don't think your team is serious to resolve my issue , I contacted Better business bureau : complaint #17655381. When we called none could acknowledge my case and simply left us on hold as they are busy with front desk service . I had to issue a new credit card with new numbers so you do not keep charging me ! I will see how i can legally get back the money you deducted through the previous months .

Expérience fantastique: I just wanted to give a shout out to planet fitness Kamloops! This summer teen program that I just signed my son up for is absolutely amazing!! They're letting all teens in between the ages of 14 and 19 use the gym for free from May 31st to August 31st! Amazing! I have never been to planet fitness before but the facilities were clean and the staff were more than helpful! My son was having trouble with the app and the staff were quick to give him a hand. I will be getting a membership there myself! What a well run clean facility!

Expérience négative: Over a year after leaving this gym. I am being charged membership dues. Phone them up an am told that I need to go in to sign a piece of paper. To cancel these dues. So just wondering if for the last just over a year there’s no charges. Now there is seems more like incompetence. I left this gym as I watch a staff member several times stand next to me in the bathroom and leave with out washing his hands. When I said something to him he told me to put my mask over my nose or I would be asked to leave the gym. I left. Been working out over 25 year.
