Expérience négative: I’ve been coming to this gym since April Staff seems to be hired with no knowledge of fitness at all and have an issue when you bring your guest in. I have a black card and have put my partner down as my guest on my account yet whenever he goes in he’s not welcome. He has not returned since. Because of this, he remains on video call with me while I work out. Tonight though, Brian seemed to want to be “manager” and come up to me and say I could not be on video chat while I worked out as he stated an issue about video recording policy, however the definition of recording and the definition of video calling are very different. I have seen multiple people on video call while working out and I was singled out of all the others. The managers (Jesse and Tam) have both seen me on video call with my partner and never had an issue. I have even done Olivia’s class while on video. Brian’s intimidating approach tonight towards a minimal member (not a gym freak) is beyond unacceptable. He is very judgemental as if he was the only knowledgeable employee there. I have stopped addressing him all together and will wait for another employee just to not deal with him. I suggest a correction of his demeanour before he’s accused of sexual harassment or some kind of misconduct that would truly give Planet Fitness a bad name. I also referred people who have chosen not to come back after seeing his attitude And given the fact that my partner has stopped attending I will soon be behind in the same decision

Expérience négative: Avoid this place!! I went in to sign up for a black card membership to take advantage of the $1 start up fee deal but staff screwed up and signed me up under a regular membership. Now I've paid over double what I should have! Mistakes happen and it would not have been a big deal but dealing with the management here has made me never want to join a gym anywhere ever again! After being fed up with the run-around, I cancelled within the 10 day cooling off period but I have a feeling that Tam screwed that up on purpose and I'm going to have to fight with these scumbags again in 15 days.

Expérience négative: Don't ever share a locker with a friend. You will be accused of trying to steal by the staff and be threatened with the cops. I was getting dressed when I was done I locked the locker my friend and I were sharing and now planet fitness called her and said I was caught trying to steal ok lady the locker I touched was the one my friend and I were sharing hope you are happy with yourself because you are a liar and should of accessed the situation and should of asked my friend because the locker I locked and touched was the one we shared.

Expérience négative: I went to this gym for awhile and liked it for the first bit I was there, it was clean and the staff WERE friendly. I had some things happen and couldn’t keep going, I was still paying the fee’s and I just paid my annual fee and I haven’t been since last November. I go to cancel the membership (since it HAS to be in person) and the general manager helping me was so completely arrogant, I explained the situation and I was met with a rude smile and him escalating the situation when all i asked was if i can get a refund, he said no i can give you free months instead. That’s completely valid in exchange but if i didn't come for almost a year already why would I continue to “come”? Then he also proceeds to ask me whose fault it was that I didn’t come in for the past almost year? That is SO extremely rude and disrespectful and completely goes against all your welcoming policies. Not only am I now pissed off about still having to pay the annual fee for this gym that I literally CANCELLED, I also got some rude remarks from the general manager? So ridiculous and I put in a complaint already. Do better on your cancellation policies because I know i’m not the only one who’s had issues with this.

Expérience négative: Absolutely rude staff, came down to workout with friends (July 31st around 11pm), guy with some strange silver single spiked hair at the desk refused my youth pass (14-19). Says "You're not in highschool" That doesn't matter, the pass is aged 14-19 on the policy. I'm 19... Do better.

Expérience fantastique: Came over from using LA Fitness. Prices are better, the gym is very very clean and open 24 hours. You don't feel intimidated either. Staff are friendly also.

Expérience négative: There is a working here told me I couldn’t train my 12 year old daughter who looks like she’s 16 and every time he’s working there’s 10 years old kids working out here because he’s cool with their parents and they have poor customer service they couldn’t provide me the manager contact saying no manager is on shift
Hi Howayne, this doesn't seem right. The minimum age required for a membership is 13 years old with a parent/legal guardian's permission. If you notice our Rules of Thumb guidelines / club policies are not followed, please speak with a club manager for best assistance.

Expérience positive: Lots of equipment, super friendly staff and extremely clean! My only con is that there are never enough mats for over a year now. I think I've counted about 6 in the past. You'll often see people doing their stretches and floor workouts on the bare ground. (I've wanted to bring this up my last few visits but staff were helping others)

Expérience négative: There a old bald guy at the reception, just fuckin arrogant. Dawg, you aint the owner of the gym, you just workin over there, so prolly start acting like it aswell.
Expérience positive: Good vibes, friendly staff and a very approachable, welcoming, clean and well kept environment makes this an awesome gym! The app is super easy to use and makes self-signup easy peasy. There’s a huge range of good equipment and facilities, more than reasonable fare, especially comparing to other gyms in the area. I love the fact this gym really isn’t pretentious and is open 24 hours makes a huge benefit for sure. The free weights go up to ~70pounds which would be a bit nicer to have heavier, and the only other fault I could list is the lack of an olympic bar and non-assisted squat rack for deadlifts etc. Apart from this, it’s perfect and really does the job!

Expérience négative: Be careful of this place. They are financially screwing me. I moved away, They won’t let me cancel and they won’t stop billing me. I signed up, then had to move away as my situation changed. Right away i called to cancel my membership, and was told i had to come in person to do it (very inconvenient) and it took a while for me to get to come in person. When i did months later, i was told i had to pay for the months of membership i had missed before i could cancel, which was somehow 250$. Im not going to pay for months of membership I didn’t use or have access to, especially after i tried to cancel it. So i said no thanks, stop billing me. And they will not. Now they think i owe hundreds of dollars, i can’t cancel my membership and they won’t stop billing me monthly. I called the billing company who requested they stop, and they refused. At this point I’d rather they send it to collections. They won’t, and It just keeps growing and growing and i am not going to pay it out of principal. It’s not fair and I don’t believe I owe them that money. Any other bill would be sent to collections by now, but at this point they’ll keep racking it up as high as they can. I can’t stop it. How much will they convince themselves i owe them before it’s dealt with in court? 10,000? 25,000? Who knows

Ive been with Planet Fitness for a longtime been to many several locations and this location is above and beyond its requirements in providing everything it needs too for people. Thankyou.

Honestly great and friendly Staff, the environment in the club is very welcoming and non judgmental, I've been to bigger gyms and it's not the same atmosphere as at planet fitness. Definitely going to be able to meet my fitness goals as I feel more motivated going to planet fitness then say going to good life fitness. Expérience fantastique: I'm laid off and needed to get out of the house and get healthy, so I decided to join a gym! Membership is reasonable at the $16 mark for the low-end membership to work out any time at a clean and well maintained gym. If you want to upgrade to the black card membership it's $35 for all access and you can bring a friend for free. The app lets you know how busy it is so you can choose when is best for you. Many machines to choose from so you don't get bored and can mix it up, including mats for floor workouts and free weights. Water refill station, but you also have an option to buy other drinks and things at the front desk. Staff are friendly and helpful but will also leave you alone to do your thing. All around, I was happy with my decision to join this gym ️♀️

Expérience négative: I tried to cancel my membership and would you believe that they wouldn't cancel it for me they let it run up to $200 until the account went dead I went into the store physically to cancel I called over the phone to cancel the manager there was not canceling my membership when I was unable to afford it when times got better I tried going into discuss the matter I was sent on my way and told to pay the $200 I can't believe people that they treat their customers this way uynprofessional I was from out of town and purchased a membership along with a friend I was in the store the manager was unhelpful as well no help from the head there is no way to cancel ❌ Infact the account furthermore adds up n makes as a dead account avoiding you at any cost yet ur still responsible for paying for the dept very rude racist discrimination clearly ignored my wishes n thoughts so unprofessional following threw with an email regarding payment wow completely avoiding conversation at all cost with you about closing your account wow requesting and still requesting for a refund for the $200 for ignoring me and I asked for cancellations several times not only over the phone but in person and threw a letter still ignored

Expérience négative: I cancelled my membership when i moved away, where they dont offer gym services. The lady helped me fill out the paperwork for cancellation. I noticed that they still were billing me for months even tho when you check my membership, i hadnt been to the gym in months. Called to have it resolved and they told me it was my problem and refused to reimburse me for the mistake they made. Terrible customer service. Highly dont recommend.

Asked for a credit card and when I filled that in asked me for my bank account info...... which is literallty my visa debit. So ya...... won't go cause I figured I'd be scammed some way. Somethings off about that.

Expérience positive: The gym is nice. It's lacking some good equipment but it has most to get a good workout . I'd like to see a calf raise machine and lay down hamstrings machine. Then it would be perfect.

Expérience positive: Decent equipment, however it gets overly crowded, and the locker rooms tend to be filled with unlocked belongings. Staff does an alright job of cleaning, but the sheer volume of people at certain times, plus the over filled yet unlocked lockers is making me consider switching to somewhere else. The worst experience I had was when they tried pushing the app several times when I already refused to download it. They even tried making it harder to sign in my girlfriend as my guest. Management tried pretending they'd have to take her photo and "re-register" her every time I brought her in until I put my foot down complained that they have her on the system TWICE already, at which point they proceeded to actually do their jobs and signed her in using their already saved information. Hasn't been an issue since, but I've never seen anyone so dead-set in inconveniencing their customers over something so silly. You shouldn't have to take her photo every time when her info has been in the system for years

Expérience négative: I recently became a member. The first thing that got me was the smell. It really stinks and there’s no fresh air circulating. It’s too hot to workout. Also, the machines are scattered all over. Example, there are some leg machines at one end and some at the other end of the building. Not sure if this will be the gym I will be using in the summer.

Expérience positive: Wish there was more than one change room in the ladies washroom. The washroom layout is very small and awkward for the number of members and how busy the gym gets.

Expérience négative: Terrible customer service and terrible gym environment. I’ve heard nothing but bad reviews about this gym and the employees working there. Quite sad to hear as this gym is supposed to be a judgment free, welcoming and budget friendly gym. They praise themselves for being the characteristics I mentioned above yet are none of these things. Signs posted around the gym stereotyping anyone who carries a large water bottle, wears a tank top or uses large weights? For a “judgement free” gym that seems pretty judgmental to me. Budget friendly yet charge people after banning them or will not allow you to cancel your membership or receive a refund. They are not welcoming to anyone who they consider a “gym rat” or what they like to call a “lunk”. One of my friends had one of the employees swearing at them for not obeying a policy at their gym, when they were unaware of this policy in the first place. Instead of the employee politely and calmly explaining their policy, she started swearing at a 15 year old girl. I am disgusted to hear how the employees treat customers and how this gym falsely advertises the gym environment they provide. Before considering this gym I think you should be aware of what you’re getting yourself into. Plenty of other budget friendly, non judgmental gyms in Barrie.

Expérience positive: Big and clean gym with most of the equipment you need. Members look like regular people and clean the machines when they’re done. Some drawbacks are that some of the machines have been used a lot and need replacing like the stair climbers that smell like burning plastic after 5 minutes. There are also only 4 smith machines and no proper squat rack. For a budget/beginner gym it’s great.

Expérience négative: Refuses to cancel my contract while I am working from camp.. they expect me to take a company vehicle 3 hours to a post office after working a 16 hour day.. guy at the counter said I needed to send a letter and said only in extreme circumstances management will get involved asked to speak to management several times and he hung up on me.. he could of put in a request or note but continue to say I needed a letter even though I told him that was not a viable option… worst customer service at a gym I’ve had Oh yea they continue to take payments out my my account after still trying to cancel and haven’t went there for months

Expérience négative: Charged me for the whole next month because I canceled on the 11th instead of the 10th. Never coming back to this company ever again. Front desk literally said their company is scamming me but there's nothing to do. Lost a member for life. Congrats. Was sent this word for word reply from customer service. Seems like this is a major issue your customers are having yet you are refusing to fix it and or you know you'll be able to rip your customers off and make more money so why switch it to work better on the customers end.

As per our Membership Agreement, you must cancel by the 10th of the month in order to avoid another charge. Expérience négative: I really, really want to give this location a higher rating but due to the circumstances I can't. I've been trying to cancel for months due to financial difficulties. I have immunocompromised at home and would not risk their lives. I've recently judt lost my grandmother, and after again trying to talk to someone via message or email, I've instead been charged almost $50 and put my account into the neagtive. If you sign up, make sure you have a clear way to cancel, as their customer service is no help.

Expérience négative: Unfortunately this gym has been falling off since COVID. When I started attending this gym I loved it the staff was cheerful, friendly and honest. Equipment would break but it would be fixed within a week. Now it’s completely different, new management, some staff members are rude and clearly don’t want to be there. But the worst of it, is they lie. The last 3 times I’ve gone tanning I’ve asked for 5 minutes and the tanning bed lights turn off after 1 minute, I let them know the first time, the second time I let them know again and mentioned that it happened before. This time I specifically asked before going to have another bed because of this problem when they assured me it was fixed yesterday of all days and it’s been working perfectly. So they put me in bed number 2 again, and what happens. I’m laying down enjoying the warm, getting a base tan so I don’t burn down south, and exactly 1 minute in, the lights shut off. So I get up and take a photo of the counter still counting down, and then show them, hey guys it’s still broken. They then tell me to call next time and they will try and restart it. Why couldn’t I just get the not broken bed I asked for to begin with? Why did they lie? There are 2 beds and only 1 bed is having this problem, but instead of just giving me the bed I requested (it wasn’t in use) they lied told me it was fixed, working perfectly.

Expérience négative: Manager on duty (July 02 , 2022 evening) I went to the gym to change the primary name from my name to my wife’s name at planet fitness bayfield Barrie ,Ontario location. The manager on duty dealt it with very rude and inappropriate way. We showed everything to prove that we are married but she did not change the name even after showing her our marriage certificate. She actually asked so many questions which were not appropriate for this situation. She asked that why your wife doesn’t have your last name . She actually canceled the membership. She didn’t authorized for membership cancellation, I have only given the authority to change name. she intentionally canceled my membership and didn’t even explained to my wife that you have to pay again for the membership before canceled mine. I paid for the membership and I have been asked to leave the gym and without considering renew the membership. This was really bad experience and I have never seen a manager who is not capable to explain properly and who doesn’t know how to give customer service . I would never suggest this location to family and friends. This manager helping this gym to loosing customers.

Expérience négative: The AC has been out of order for several weeks, and previously the water refill station was for a long time too. The gym is too uncomfortable to work out in, so unfortunately that means those weeks are a waste of my membership. I understand things happen but I find it hard to understand why it would take so long to repair when it's a basic necessity for a gym.

Not only is he smug and rude to members and guests but I even watched as this "manager" Kaden put up numerous signage all over the walls enforcing rules and then rudely chastised members over these "rules" that we were never even informed of during sign up. No skipping, no personal items, etc. yet walked right past multiple gym bros with huge gym bags and gallon jugs (which aren't allowed either). Just beyond ridiculous. Seems like he picks and chooses who he thinks he can intimidate and let's things slide with the bigger men. I'll never be back to this so called "welcoming environment" and have taken my business to LA fitness instead.

Expérience fantastique: It is a great gym, they do mean it when it comes to no judgement. People working out there do really enjoy the workout. All the equipments work well and the staff working there is amazing. Those are the guys who make it amazing to workout at this particular location. I would recommend this place if you are looking to spend under $30 and get the best possible.

My wife has cancelled her membership and soon enough, I won't be far behind her. Never a problem until this individual was hired.

Expérience fantastique: Best gym in Barrie by far for the price and the amenities they have. I always look forward to the gym because of the amazing staff, great atmosphere and cleanliness. I highly recommend any new beginners that never gym before to try this one especially, the manager Addi was informative and convinced me into a membership that works with my schedule (24/7) gym with staff there all the time! I highly recommend for anyone looking around for a gym, you will not be disappointed!

Expérience négative: Used to go to Planet Fitness, as it was great for a while, and I met a lot of cool people there. That being said, after many broken machines (that stayed broken) for months at a time, staff turnover, and a newer manager that doesn't seem to like anyone, it was time to cancel my membership and look elsewhere to work out. Memberships were also oversold, creating logjams at the machines (which there weren't enough of), and a lot of headaches. Change rooms and showers started to not get cleaned at regular intervals, and PF was also the first gym to shut down (a month before anyone else did due to the pandemic), causing chaos.

Expérience positive: I went to the one in Barrie and i found the young woman, if i remember her name correctly Mara ? that helped my daughter and i to be informative, friendly, and personable. She showed us around the gym while giving us insight to the different stations and amenities that PF had to offer. My daughter joined the free student summer usage. After telling my wife about it she joined as well online, but when she went in her experience was much different than ours. She told the young man behind the counter, she was a new member and asked if he could show her around a bit as it was her first time there and help her sign up for a class or two. Sadly she was brushed off and told to go online. Where are the Mara"s when you need them. The young man did not leave a good impression of PF staff with my wife. She told me if it wasnt for me telling her a bit about PF, she would have asked for her money back and gone somewhere else.
