Expérience fantastique: Always walked past this gym, never knew I’d be a part of it. This place is actually pretty darn awesome! Machines work perfectly, they even have some machines that count your reps for you which I thought was pretty cool. Affordable, fun environment, a place where very great gains can be made. If you need a gym, join, I’ll see you there fellow lifter!

Expérience négative: I have been going to this gym for 2 years and unfortunately due to my health concerns, I needed to pause my membership until I can fully recover and go back again. I cannot believe how hard it is to pause my membership here! On the website, it says you can go in person or call your home club to pause your membership. I emailed atleast 2 weeks before for my pause request but no one got back to me. Since no one got back, I called and spoke to Nathan Berhanu and he said it is company policy to come in person to pause membership? That is so misleading when the website says you can call your home club. Despite that he asked the manager and then said he could pause it but since it is for a month there is nothing he can do about this even though he knew I physically cannot go in person or even send a mail due to the Canada post strike. Due to the lack of concern and the way he was speaking, I decided to cancel for good and yet he gave the same response. I used to be a GoodLife fitness member and also used LA Fitness for a while and all it took was 5 mins of speaking to someone over the phone to cancel a membership. Just like many other reviews mentioned, it’s unbelievable how difficult it is to cancel/pause with planet fitness. If you’re reading this, please please put your money towards a better gym like GoodLife where there isn’t overcrowding and it isn’t a hassle to cancel/pause membership.

Expérience positive: Good space and price for the place. Just that… there’s no stretching area with a mirror Also, the interpersonal environment for some reason is not really good. People seems grumpy and not friendly at all. The staffs are good, just the gym members. I mean, work out this long in 3 other gyms, I’ve never been so urged by someone to get off a machine just for resting a bit longer. After it happened, I was trying to be friendly and went to him saying “it was my workout habits, sorry for bothering you and we can do exchange sets if you want to”, and that old guy was purely not listening and start yelling at me publicly… what an unpleasant even traumatizing experience. I mean, what’s good in it for you to make somebody’s day a negative plus day just because you take their break personal and don’t wanna even communicate? Are you a ungrown baby or something? I was literally holding my tears after this happened. Don’t make me wrong, I love planet fitness that there are so much good machines and multifunctional rooms. But this area of downtown it’s just not really good of an interpersonal environment I guess. I could almost feel the tension in the air.

In a place like college one has to be damn patient because of constant hullabaloo and this staff is absolutely rocking it when it comes to personal leadership. I dont feel like working out elsewhere because of this.

Expérience positive: Overall good experience, had everything we need. Only thing I want management to know is that some employees work double the amount others do and they should get recognition for it. We were checking in today and there were about 4 employees at the counter. There of them were talking to random people and fooling around while one girl was dealing with a customer on the phone AND had to sign us in.

Expérience négative: Only 5 smith machines and no barbells. Those machines always have a lineup, so it’s really hard to do squats, deadlifts, bench press, etc. The staff are really nice though; they get 5 stars :)

Expérience négative: I recently had a very disappointing experience at Planet Fitness College Park. During my time as a member, I had some valuable items stolen from me at the club. Despite reporting the incident immediately, the management showed a complete lack of responsibility and did not take any action to address the situation. Their response was extremely indifferent and unhelpful. I lost valuable items, and the club’s disregard for the issue was truly frustrating. I do not recommend this club to anyone who values their personal belongings and expects a responsible and caring management.

Expérience négative: Worst experience with Planet Fitness. They charge you late fee by delaying payments from credit card. No customer service and no one helps resolve your issue. Receptionist keeps telling to talk or email management and nobody responds. Equipments are well maintained.

Expérience négative: They have a lot of machines, but most of them are focused on cardio. No benches for chest presses. The smith and fly machines are always busy, and I'm pretty sure these guys know it, all the members regularly complain about this. But i guess they just don't care.

Expérience négative: Worst gym ever. Someone broke into my locker, stole my wallet, and used it to buy stuff on my 2nd day here.. I realized this use to happens pretty often. The gym says it's my fault for not taking care of my things, even though if it was locked! Ridiculous. Plus, no bench press, no squat rack, no hack squat. It's all cardio equipment, For the price, meh, u have better options. it's just not worth it. Regret signing up big time.

Expérience négative: STAY AWAY. Absolutely horrible from the management. On 29 Jun 2024, My wallet got stolen in the locker room (with a lock!) and I have police reports, and I have proof my debit card was used by the person who stole it. I was asking if they’d offer any solution as I had to pay to get a new driver license and everything. The solution from the manage was for me to provide a pic of the person who went into the locker room and stole my wallet, would I get anything back? The manager said NO. It’s like a slap in the face. The manager was not even trying to be helpful. The irony is that they charged me for membership fee on the same day that my wallet got stolen in the gym. And they said I had to send them an email so they’d process my refund for my membership fee. What a joke. Stay away.

Expérience négative: Very bad experience with cancellation ended up paying the extra month fees although the account was cancelled on time. We went to planet fitness for account switching on may 29th and they told switching is not possible so we have to create new account and cancel my old account and told there will not be any extra fees. After providing all the details they asked for 35$ fees of account opening. We told this was not communicated to us earlier so we don't want to pay any extra fees. Keep the settings the way it was initially and we will cancel our membership before 10th June. They confirmed that new account which was in progress of creation is now CANCELLED and we have only one account which is mine, which we cancelled on 9th June. Still on 17th June they charged extra fees for a month. On 23rd June when we called them to ask why this fees was charged they told your account is active which we never knew about because on 29th May they confirmed that the new account is not opened yet. Although its a mistake of planet fitness member who confirmed it on 29th May that the account is not opened still we had to pay for it. When we went in person to meet management they didn't accepted their staff mistake who confirmed that the new account is not opened instead they told us to do a police complain so be mindful with the staff and management before doing any changes in the account as this guys are not supportive at all. We lost one month membership cost.

Expérience fantastique: I am visiting from California and for a PF in the middle of a humongous city of 10 million people, I think this one is very well maintained. I had a long talk with Sean about lots of stuff but he was explaining that the hand sanitizer machines on the walls, most of them don't work because someone has opened them up and sabotaged them for some stupid reason. I do not like the massage chairs at this particular club. They are old and they don't go back like the new ones do and there's not the digital screen with many changes that you can make for your experience to be personalized. Plus, the massage chairs are in a very busy bustling area and I don't see the point of that. This is a Planet Fitness general concern of mine, the use of paper towels is astounding. In the bathrooms, most of them, there Is it placard that says we don't use paper towels because of this environmental reason...Then you go out to the floor and there's paper towel machines everywhere and most of them get emptied within an hour. How is that environmentally friendly? Anyway, I am on a business trip and I'm glad that I found this particular location.

Expérience fantastique: Love this downtown location. Has everything I need for my workout. Close to work and home. The gym staff are super helpful and always greeted me with a friendly welcome...highly recommend this location because it's open 24hrs if you ever miss gym day.

Expérience négative: Wow front desk girl Alayna was super rude to me for no reason. Super bad customer service how you’re in the public industry and you talk to people like this? I don’t recommend this location. There are better planet fitness with friendlier desk people and better and more professional employees. You work in the wellness field, no need to bully people either and make them feel embarrassed or stressed because YOU had a bad day. Also there had been guys working the desk at night before asking my social media handles and asking personal questions about when not seeing me/seeing me at the gym and making weird personal comments. Whoever manages this location, I think you should train these employees better. They are very unprofessional. I don’t think this reflects the image and brand of planet fitness which is supposed to be indiscriminative, inclusive, antibullying & anti-harassment.

Expérience négative: I was going to the gym for more than a year and everything was good, but the time came that I couldn't go anymore and I decided to cancel the membership and it turns out that the girl who is the receptionist didn't want to cancel me, she said that I have to pay something more!!.even though 4 days ago they charged me 56 dollars and two days later more than 100 dollars again as a surcharge for other things, it can't be that I am so disgusted with this gym, they are thieves, I will never go back to present to the gym and they say that they will not cancel my membership, they will continue taking my money

Expérience positive: It’s decent for this price, but there’s an elephant in the room: there are too many cardio machines (around 100? More?), and not enough Smith machines - they’re always occupied. It would be cool if you could replace some cardio ones with smith machines or something else, like benches for abs (since you don’t have any) - there’s no hour when people are using even half of all this cardio stuff.

Expérience négative: scam alert , read the reviews, people are getting ripped off i wish there was a zero. read all the reviews. people are getting scammed. i went there to sign up . if you aren't sure. think about why they want your chequing account and your credit card and sign a bunch of papers. there is a problem here. this is why people are afraid to sign up. go to the YMCA or F45 its simple and easier. annual fee. monthly fee, sign up fee. prorated fee. wow thats an obvious scam for people who dont care. guaranteed this club will be shut down people will lose the memberships fees. 12 months it will be replaced. if your reading this, you probably sensed the scam, or got scamed. make sure you hit helpful on my review and do it on others. shame shame this is the world of internet. you guys cant keep do this.

Expérience négative: Sketchy Membership Billing hidden fees. cant get a straight answer. went there 3 times got 3 differwnt sketchy responses. i am sure great people working there, Management your staff has no clue how to speak to new people about their membership I've been in the store a few times trying to but a membership. They can't explain the difference between annual fee membership fees sign up fee checking account credit card what a difficult sign up process horrible I went to the another club where it's straightforward very transparent and not so sketchy They have so many different terms for their fees it's ridiculous

Expérience positive: I love everything except the ventilation. What I would not give for better fans or for the thermostat to be set couple of degrees cooler when the crowds are higher. It is amazing how much the body heat generated can make it seem unbearable even before beginning to work out! The staff are very friendly and once they help you get oriented, it is quite easy to pop around on your own. There are lots of machines, though they are all close together, so think of male urinal ettiquette when selecting your treadmill. No really, it is basically the same logic. But since there are so many machines, wait times tend to be low to use them, if one needs to wait at all. In case anyone is wondering, I have never seen anyone trip off the lunk alarm thingie. When you see it, you will know.

Expérience négative: Gym itself is small and usually busy. I haven’t been in over a year due to moving. Unable to cancel membership unless you go to the exact location or use mail. They are a scam and want to take your money and I highly recommend not signing up here.

Hi Thomas! A physical signature is required to complete the cancellation process. The quickest and easiest way to cancel would be to visit your home club in person. If you are no longer near your home club location, you can transfer your membership to a location closer to you and cancel there instead. We also offer a mail-in cancellation method as well. All that is required is a letter addressed to your home club with your name, statement of intent to cancel, contact information, and a physical signature. We hope that clears things up. Expérience fantastique: I went in as a non-member to get a feel of the facility. The staff welcomed me and explained how it works. There are 2 levels in this gym. I have to say they used every section of the gym perfectly. In each section there are équipements, tools, etc you can use. The women's changing room is quite big as well. And no pushy sales agents for you to sign up!

Expérience négative: started at Planet Fitness earlier this year after a friend recommended it to me. However, my experience was tainted from the beginning due to misinformation regarding the etiquette of sharing equipment. I was initially told that people have to wait for the machines when I'm using them, but as it turns out, that wasn't the case. On April 12th, 2024, around 12 am, a white male customer approached me while I was using a hydro bed. Without checking the room to see if anyone was already using the bed, he immediately went to request it from the front desk. He unfairly expected me to vacate the bed, despite me using it. When I explained that I was still using the equipment. A staff member who was already off her shift. She not only disputed my usage of the hydro bed but also accused me of loitering, while seemingly advocating for the white male customer's request. This encounter left me deeply disappointed in Planet Fitness's customer service and shocked by the presence of racism within the facility. As a paying member, I expect to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of my race or background. They will scam you, refuse to let you cancel when you move out of town, manufacture fake charges, drag things out, even when we finally manage to cancel by sending a person in physical signed copy of letter, they lie and gaslight you while looking directly in your eye and manufacture more charges. Absolute scum. Whatever physical strength you build in this gym they will drain out of you mentally when you try to cancel/move

They filed a lawsuit there and began to assert that I was at fault, even though I was subjected to verbal and physical abuse. In Canada’s laws, harming others is not permitted. My opponent was saying something bad about the government and its laws, and they did not care about that.

Expérience négative: My lock was cut and my personal belongings were removed from locker and kept in the hall on the 3rd day of my joining this gym. When I approached the reception girl she told me its the policy you cant leave your stuff in the locker if you are not present in the gym. I was never informed about this policy. Infact when I asked the guy at the reception while joining if it's ok to keep my gym stuff in locker he said if I lock it i need not worry about anything. I wonder why the management did not even care to text me, call me, e-mail me or wait for me to walk in the gym next day before deciding to cut the lock and ransacked my belongings.

Expérience négative: Don’t do it, it’s the biggest trap and when you try to cancel the membership they make your life hard and never answer because their email is not working and can’t do it by call so they make you come there or send a formal letter which is crazy. There is also a fee of 45 dollars and a cancellation fee of 55 don’t do it workout at home.

Expérience fantastique: One of my favorite gym in Canada so far. And some extra happened today: my water-bottle has fallen down at the front desk, so it has been broken but one lovely lady with long black hair from the PF staff saved the situation and she has given me another one what’s literally warmed my heart because I had a rough day. You made my day girl, thank you! Btw I have to go back to Europe soon and it’s gonna be my lovely souvenir from PF which will let me to remember about that: a though day could be good at some point as well just keep going, go to the gym ;) Thank you so much again, I love this gym with their stuff!

Expérience négative: I wish i could give zero star to this gym …This gym is so smelly in this winter and i don’t know what will happen in summers …the continuous bad odours makes my workouts less enjoyable. The water bottle filler space was found with mucus, I literally had a vomit …Tissue rolls in bathroom are always runs short ….and management here is only to write contact us but there is no benefit to contact them …they are just busy in looting people.

If you are a mom of multiple kids and or if you can get sick by chance (God forbid) then please look somewhere else for a gym who value their members…. i joined the gym in mid January 2024 and they deducted whole January fee than my kids and I got sick and i called gym and requested them to freeze my membership and on phone they said Ok no problem but than they deducted money again and when i asked them they said it’s our policy, you have to come at gym and when I went they said No you come after 10th and we will even deduct money for March ….Moreover A guy over a counter told me very proudly that there are people who didn’t come for a year but every month is automatically deduction from their bank account. I mean seriously??? This business is all about the money, not the customer. Prepare for disappointment if you expect any level of genuine care or service beyond what's necessary to extract your hard earned money. I went there to freeze my membership but ends up in termination…so disappointed …

Expérience négative: Loved this gym when I started there a year ago. Recently they changed up the layout to fit in more machines. As someone with high gym anxiety having identical machines facing one another and nearly having to climb over people just to walk around has made it impossible for me to attend. While I understand growth is inevitable it shouldn’t be at the cost of personal space. You cannot possibly have a judgement free zone when you are literally eye to eye with someone using the twin of the machine your on (whether someone else is judging you or you are judging yourself). Staff was kind when responding to my complaint in email and over the phone, however if you are someone that has anxiety I would advise against this location. I’ll be cancelling my membership.

But one of the staff name is G the Indian guy with short hight and glasses he was very rude unprofessional and not understanding. I brought my guest to show him the gym to make an advertisement because i really like this gym and when i said is it ok if my guest use the massaje he rudely said no and he told me if you let him use it im going to cancel your membership . I really don't appreciate this kind if behavior. But overall i really like the manager and the equipment also the environment and people.

Expérience fantastique: Great price for a 24 hour gym. It's not fancy but because my main gym has limited hours and I like late night workouts, this is a great option. They have a ton of cardio machines and their circuit workout is great for a quick, full body workout Also, they finally got a 45 degree linear leg press machine

Expérience positive: A bit crowded compared to my home club. Not like too many people; but the equipment in some cases is just impossibly positioned next to other stuff. Some signage to make it clear where change rooms are would be nice. As well to indicate that half of it is downstairs. I just happened to poke my head down what I thought was fire exit and found half the machines I was looking for. Side note; not sure about dilution of sanitizer spray, but it looked and smelled identical to water. Didn’t really inspire confidence if that matters to ya.

Expérience positive: Great price point, really actually fantastic for the area, with good machines and equipment. This, plus the remarkable hours lead to a unique value proposition for the downtown core. However, the price point and accessible branding and outreach have created a clientele that is rude, inexperienced, and somewhat unclean. Expect: long lines for machines due to folks on their phones, others having loud phone conversations on cardio machines, people walking around with no shoes, groups of individuals using one machine (barely) for tens of minutes at a time, and other individuals performing what would be better described as a pagan rituals and not workouts on the rarely available smith machines. The areas are not often patrolled and I've never once in the half a year I've been going to this gym seen someone stopped for inappropriate behaviour at the gym by staff. I've spoken to the manager and they are aware of the issues, but no changes to policy have been made, and it seems like it's just reality there. If you're serious about working out, look elsewhere first.

Expérience négative: The worst gym I have ever seen in my life and I'm not saying that without any reason for that is I just need to start gym and I get membership for black card over here maybe in the first or second week of the September 2023 and after first day of free trail as that day was very good bcoz I was just going to be their next victim that's why they behave good on the first day and on the second day I have been successfully paid for my annual fees for black card membership and at the 3 day I was like very tired and had cramps as I was a beginner that's why I accidentally went to the washroom and slept in the washroom as I was doing my workout at late nights means nearby 3a.m and I waked by a loud bang after 40 mins outside of the washroom and I came out to see that who is banging the door so I saw a black security guy and he was so much rude that I couldn't even explain over here so that day I left and I came back to gym after 3 days gap just bcoz of some extra work I was busy so after 3 4 days I came that day what happened with me was that I wasn't doing workout and was sitting over the resting area for 1 hr and I was told by a lady cleaner who worked over there at that time at 4 am that I had not seen you doing any workout from so many days that you are just coming here for sitting and doing time pass so I got very angry but I didn't show my feelings as I am not a guy who disrespect a lady and it's not taught by my parents and I just said her that " I am going to do workout in some time and I am not fool to come at 3 am to sit here " so I said this in a polite manner but as she left I went to mens washroom but due to some reasons their washroom wasn't working rather then one of all but as I said earlier that this is at 4 am so their are very few mens and maybe 1/2 women who are their at this time so I went to accessibility ♿️ washroom downstairs to use it as I am going with a leg problem that whenever I sit even for 15 mins my leg just stops working and it sleeps so I was aware of it that's why I used accessibility one as I didn't want to make it difficult for others mens those who already have only one working washroom so the same thing happens that my leg slept absolutely I was not able to get it fix for 35 / 40 mins and I came out and started my workout and I finished it at 7:30 am so at this time a lady manager stopped me while I was ready to leave and she told me that " I came to know that you were in the washroom for a long time and you are just doing time pass over here so I have canceled your membership and you need not to come here anymore " so that time it was enough for me and I asked to give me my refund and she said that she needs to ask management for it and I will call you when I have discussed with them" still now I have not received any call Moreover I got one more time charged for my next month on 17 Sept so I am just waiting to get back my money otherwise I will look forward for a lawsuit and I will teach them how to scam others .

Expérience positive: It looks great, but as soon as I actually did a workout here, it got more difficult to sign up. I guess for the price, it's worth it but if you're further away, better to hit a more local gym. The cons: - Poor air ventilation (musty ppl are very noticeable) - A/c doesn't reach certain parts of the gym (gets hot easily) - Crowded in the free weights and Smith machine area (must wait) - No lying leg curl machine - No dedicated stretching area, (no foam rollers either) Some pros: - Many cardio machines, large variety - All Machines are very new and modern - Everything is very clean and well maintained - Staff is helpful and kind - Lots of TV screens around the gym - Lots of lockers and clean change rooms

Once a ballroom, this space was also home to Canada's first escalator—an extraordinary piece of engineering that still stands proudly on the left side of the entrance. As you ascend the stairs, the well-preserved wooden finishing is captivating if you’re not mindlessly stuck on your phone, hinting at the grandeur of our city’s loyalist past. This space has old fashioned light fixtures, marble walls, and flooring that reveals a fascinating history that has remained a well-kept secret. It’s a unique fusion of heritage and wellness. Members can have not only an spacious workout but also a journey through time, experiencing the city's past in an interesting way. Plus, the staff are phenomenal at customer service.
