Expérience fantastique: I have worked with Paige for over a year now and I wanted to express my gratitude for all her outstanding coaching. She is such a great communicator and coaches with a gentle tone and easy to understand excersises. I find this so helpful as I'm 56 and don't need the push, push, push for results. She has so much knowledge and works with folks with previous injuries with great success! With her help I am well on my way to optimum performance and feel fantastic! She is the best!

Expérience négative: This company is a scam. I cancelled my 'open-ended' membership, but they kept charging me, accumulated to $180 in late fees that they couldn't waive and threatened to send to collections if I didn't pay. Words can't describe how much I hate this place.

Expérience négative: Got pretty nice newer equipments but their leg section sucks they only have 1 leg press machine and then some leg curls and leg extensions. They got 2 other different types of leg presses but they both suck one of them I can max out for over 40 reps and I’m only 16 years old. The other one I can max out for 20 reps and you can’t add extra plates onto either of them. It’s also way too busy considering I they maximium amount of people allowed is 150 which is insane for how small the gym is I have trouble getting a good workout in sometimes. Other than that I’d say it’s a decent gym

After I was displaced by a disaster loosing everything but the clothes on my back, I was lied to and told *if* I signed up I would get fees waived it took 8 months of trying to get a hold of the manager because I kept getting charged and still was trying to get my life back together. Then claimed that wasn’t the agreement. The situation is just so unethical. What a poor business for our community.

Expérience négative: Update: Yesterday, I tried to take my e-scooter to the club, but they wouldn't let me in because the e-scooter couldn't fit in the locker. The manager asked me to leave and come back without the e-scooter per policy. Request to the club owner, I think it's important for the club to have a new policy regarding storing e-scooters for members, considering how popular e-scooters have become. I recently joined Club16, and it has been an outstanding experience! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always eager to help with any questions or concerns. The facilities are top-notch, with a wide variety of equipment that is always clean and well-maintained (one of the tower cables is not working sometimes). Whether you're into weightlifting, or cardio, Club16 has something for everyone. The layout is spacious, ensuring that even during peak hours, you never feel cramped or rushed. Taha is my personal trainer with an awesome positive attitude, energetic and motivating, we both built a positive understanding to be in line with my goal, I recommend him for beginners and mids. One of the standout features for me is the range of group classes available. The instructors are energetic and motivating, making each session both fun and challenging. I particularly enjoy the yoga and HIIT classes, which have significantly improved my fitness levels. The locker rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need, including spacious lockers and well-maintained showers. The attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the gym is commendable, which is crucial for me. Additionally, the gym offers great membership packages that are affordable and flexible. The value for money is excellent, considering the high-quality facilities and services provided. They also offer personal training sessions, which I found extremely beneficial in achieving my fitness goals. Overall, Club16 has exceeded my expectations in every way. The positive environment, coupled with top-tier facilities and dedicated staff, makes it a perfect place to pursue your fitness journey. Expérience négative: I only go here because it’s the ‘cheapest’ in Maple Ridge. Most of their machines are old if not, broken and unavailable. They're a bit rusty and also don’t feel much consistent resistance. mostly feels a bit loose. The ambiance of the building is a bit dated too. It also gets really muggy even if it’s not fully crowded. I don’t think they have a good working AC or ventilation. It’s just an overall a bit uncomfortable to work out at. Not that it’s the gyms fault too, but it gets busy so fast you need to schedule when you can work and be able to use the machines. And there’s not much to choose from, unless you’re willing to pay “She’s Fit” as a woman to have more workout options and privacy. But sadly, that side doesn’t even have much selection for upper body workouts. I thought what’s the point of having to pay She’s Fit, if you still have to spend half of the time not using the privilege of having a private room?? I regret signing up to this gym.

Expérience négative: I used to go to this gym a handful of times every week around 6 years ago and it wasn’t anywhere near as busy as it is now. For any working person, they can expect to have 2x as long as a workout due to the limited amount of equipment. After all of these years, there are still only 2 squat racks, there are no dumbbells over 90, and there are only one set for the higher numbers. Every excercise I’ve done today, I’ve had to wait 5-10 minutes to get equipment. What is originally a 45minute workout, turns into over an hour. Waited almost 10 mins for a squat rack, then had to wait another 10 for the 90lb dumbbells, then had to wait 5mins for the leg press machine, then another 5 for the leg curl machine, then another 5 for leg extension. For anyone who is concerned about their time, or just wanting to stay in the zone during a workout, do not sign up here. Thankfully I’m on a month to month, so I’ll be switching to another local gym after the month is over so I can actually get a proper workout in. It’s a hang out club for school kids, people leave their stuff by a piece of equipment for sometimes 5mins while they do whatever they’re doing other than working out. It’s a cesspool in comparison to what it used to be, and it’s certainly not a place I want to spend my time. The music is always boring, no hype whatsoever, you need to bring headphones always There should be more racks, there should be more dumbbells, there should be more equipment in general. The gym is fantastic if you happen to work out at a dead hour consistently, otherwise you’ll be busy doing a whole lot of nothing while waiting, or compromising your own progression by settling for different equipment to get the job done. Riddance.

Expérience fantastique: I started my first ever training session at Club 16 with Aiman. I am so grateful that she made my first training experience so good. I have back and neck pain issues but Aiman is very knowledgeable and can always design a program that carter my needs. She is very encouraging and at the same time, challenging. So they got 5 months of free money from me. Called them yesterday, found out my membership ended in March, no warning, just keep billing me. Called the head office all they would do is cancel my membership and I still have to make two payments foe may. Trevor linden your just a money maker. Well not advise anyone to joine.

Expérience positive: I’ve been a member for several months now and have several acquaintances that go to there as well. The gym is good overall. I find it well equipped and clean. It does get very crowded at some hours of the day and on those times I wish the staff was more proactive in monitoring the areas. For example, some folks take up a piece of equipment and take forever to complete their sets because they record videos on their phones. Having to wait long to use the equipment is annoying, but I feel very uncomfortable if I'm working out and folks are filming around me. The main reason I stuck around is my trainer. Xen is not only a very knowledgeable personal trainer, he is a great teacher and mentor. I never liked going to the gym or working out, but Xen is teaching me so much that I am beginning to enjoy the process. We meet once a week and I feel confident to work out on my own and have been working out consistently.

I have tried cancelling my membership for over a month now and they continue to charge me I got no response through email I have told them 6 times in the gym and no body could seem to help me. They continue to try to charge me even after 3 consecutive days of me asking for someone to get back to me about the issue at hand. My payments don’t even match up and it is different amounts. Highly recommend not getting involved with this gym.

Expérience négative: Parking is included in membership, however there is such limited parking you'll be lucky to ever use it. Staff is friendly but that's about it, closing staff doesn't clean up, the place looks like a high-school gym first thing in the morning, weights not racked, you'll spend more time finding plates than you will lifting them. Get a membership to the community center instead, same experience for half the price.

Expérience négative: This gym is very very bad, it's a big money grab. They de activate your card causing overdue payments with additional fees time to time then blame it on a "system change". Every day there's new equipment that is broken and stays broken for weeks at a time. They make it almost impossible to cancel your membership and making you pay a full month before your membership is canceled. This gym is a very strict gym with very rude management that just don't care about you as a member. Been a member here for over a year and been trying to cancel ever since my 4th month. Stay away there's many better gyms with in walking range.

To begin, this gym is the most depressing gym I have ever even step foot into....not even sure what made me drop in to this gym let alone get a membership...the machines are always broken and it is far too crowded to even get a good workout in. Secondly, the parking is a joke not even sure why I've received 5 parking tickets from indigo parking when I have registered my license plate every single time...Lastly TREVOR LINDEN is a FRAUD, they make it extremely easy to sign up but once you cancel your membership they keep charging your card. Complete garbage gym wish I could rate it 0 stars

I have to do some exercises for my back (I have spinal stenosis) and I love the space because I can lay down a yoga mat and there’s plenty of space to do what I need to do. I’m also on disability, and the membership is very affordable.

Expérience fantastique: I am so impressed with the staff at this location. Every one of them are friendly, welcoming, and professional. They far & away are the reason for this review. The gym with the always broken machines? (Especially the treadmills!!!!!!) You get what you pay for. There are plenty of others that do work well, to be fair. Again, this is more than mitigated by the phenomenal staff. Highly recommended! It's hard to stay motivated, the people here make it so much easier, with their helpful tips etc.

Expérience fantastique: Tony is a fantastic personal trainer! I just finished up 8 months of training with him, and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. Tony is very knowledgeable, is super encouraging and has a great personality. With his help I was able to make huge changes to my health and well-being. I have a previous injury and Tony was able to adapt his plans and teach me ways to strengthen without injuring myself more. Tony motivated me to always push myself, which has grown my strength immensely. His workouts were always different, which helped me to learn so many new exercises that I am now able to confidently do on my own. I would 110% recommend Tony to anyone looking for personal training!

Expérience négative: Extra Money was charged from me after misguided information through staff during sign up process. I am a member of club 16 and got a 3 days pass for trial. After I was done with the trial, my fitness representative who was trying to sign me up extended my pass for 3 more days as she wanted to give me time to consider Personal training. I am assuming that was not allowed since she mentioned she is giving that to me as an exception so that I get time to decide. While I was entering the gym during those extra 3 days, the front desk asks for $20 drop in fee and categorically mentioned that this will be refunded once I sign up. I went to sign up after 3 days and informed this girl I was dealing with that I am not going to take Personal training at the moment to which she said I can have a meeting with her manager who can help me convince for personal training. So the next day I meet the manager and told him I am still not taking PT and would like to sign up for normal training. Now I dint come to the gym for 2 days and when I went to finally enrol, the staff who was signing me up told me again that those 20$ will be adjusted in the membership payment automatically. Now, till date I haven't received those 20 bucks back, I called the front desk today and spoke with Nyah (I ensured I note their name this time) who tells me that I am not eligible for refund since I signed up after more than 10 days. I am clearly cheated and misguided by the staff and they kept on delaying my sign up until after 10 days had passed. This may seem to be a small amount to you but I am not allowing the staff to play games and misguide me. No one till date had mentioned that my sign up had to be under 10 days so why the staff was not signing me up even after multiple requests and delayed it until after 10 days had passed. My husband has been a member since almost 2 years now and I am a member too, I would be taking this up to all platforms possible and get our membership cancelled if this issue is not addressed. I understand that the fitness representative was trying to upsell me personal training as much as she possibly could, but then she should not have given me extra 3 days trial pass and the frontdesk should have mentioned about 10 days period while they were taking payment from me.

Expérience négative: My friend’s wife just passed away. When he contacted them to cancel her membership he received no condolences, they demanded proof of death. I get some people may scam but that karma is on them. This man just lost the mother of two little girls to cancer, a $20/month gym membership is hardly worth making him prove it while he’s grieving and trying to figure out life. I’m so disappointed and disgusted. You added unnecessary to stress to an already traumatic situation. Shame on you.

Expérience négative: I enjoy the ladies room however, it is small and this gym is extremely busy. There needs to be better/more leg equipment added. There is only one leg press, no hack squat machines of any kind, no pendulum squat, one calf machine that's awful and that is it. For the amount of people who use this gym - it should be double the size. The staff however are pleasant. Price is affordable.

Expérience fantastique: I have been training with Xen for the past month. In the past I had TFCC tendon repair surgery 2 + years ago. Since having the surgery I have struggled to weight bare on my wrist to the point it had me feeling defeated that it will never get back to where I was pre surgery. 3 sessions with Xen and that has changed I am now able to do exercises that involve using my wrist and its becoming stronger. He makes our sessions fun and challenging and really listens to his clients. He is knowledgable and teaches you why the movements he shows you are important. He gives me the confidence boost I need during the sessions and is always cheering me on. Club 16 is really fortunate to have such an awesome individual apart of their team!

Massage , tanning , red light therapy along with sauna bed included in VIP membership is so beneficial after a good workout . A great loss if you don’t take advantage of what this gym offers . There isn’t much in Maple Ridge but I found this gem 2 years ago no regrets !!

However, I'm writing to complain about a particular staff member who personally needs to be informed about the way she goes about as a employee at this Gym. Since day one, wether it's been regarding getting my gym card replaced or just saying hello. She's always been snarky or grumpy whenever she Interacts with me or other newbies I guess. I always get the vibe that she's going out of her way to make things difficult. I don't have anything against her personally, it's just the way she presents herself just doesn't seem professional. She always seems like she doesn't want to be there. I get u have bad days, but this has been going for almost 10 months and It been really bugging me now. She has a puffy ponytail and I think she's black. Let me finish by saying the rest of the staff are fantastic and will still be working out here! Thanks

Expérience positive: I have been going this location for several months. It's definitely a very BUSY gym but a very friendly location. The staff is always ready to help and making sure everything is working as it should. I contacted club 16 and was able to solve the problem until i got my refund, it was for $4, not the $40 i was expecting. Since then i have been trying to get in contact again to resolve this issue, unfortunately all of my emails have been ignored for the past 2 months!

I was told, you are only allowed to remove your shoes while stretching if you are with a trainer. Also, there were 2 men just finished their stretches only in socks & they were not asked to leave.

Expérience négative: Front desk staff is extremely nice but gym gets super busy, the tv’s never work or aren’t turned on, and machines/dumbbells are worn down and often broken. Yet, they charge you a hefty club enhancement fee. Basically a money grab because the club looks run down on most days.

Expérience fantastique: I have been working out with Xen as my personal trainer at club 16 for only 2 months and I am the healthiest both mentally and physically I have ever been. Xen pushes me and makes sure I put everything into every rep and he guides me extremely well. In just two months, Xen has taught me more about my body, gym equipment, proper form, and workouts than I would of learned in years of training on my own. He is an exceptional trainer and I believe that anyone who has goals to achieve and truly wants to make a difference in there life should work with him.

Expérience négative: What an absolutely terrible gym, the staff is completely useless, a third of the equipment is broken and left broken for months without repair, the machines that do work, half of them are in disrepair. They charge you $40 a year on top of your monthly fees for "Facility upgrades" they haven't added a new machine there in the three + years since I've last been at this location (Maple Ridge). The only positive they had going for them was their cheap monthly fees, but they've even got rid of that, now they are only a few bucks cheaper then majority of their competition. I absolutely abhor this gym and location and will be switching to another gym ASAP.

It is sad because it has now become a joke amongst members and staff demonstrating that leadership "doesn't care". Just keep the money coming. Cut the wires, easy cheap fix! Expérience négative: It’s a great place to start your fitness journey, but if you want to go regularly, I don’t recommend as after 5pm it gets packed. We waited for more than 30 minutes for one equipment,and this guy was just chatting with his girlfriend for at least half of the time. We left the gym after almost one hour waiting because many people had asked him how long it will take and he was not in a rush. And this happens with many equipments. People come in groups and spend a long time in a single equipment. One time I complained about the lack of some equipments, staff answer was: we probably have another machine that can do the work…I don’t want another machine, I want that same type of equipment. Maybe it’s a great place to socialize, but as I’m there just for the gym, I’m looking for another options. Unless thar you have 3hours to spend at the gym waiting, you should pay more and get a better place.

Expérience positive: I love that they have a women’s only section! I do wish they had a normal squat rack in the women’s area, but they still have a really good selection. Parking is free, you just need to register your license plate when you walk in the doors each time. Staff are friendly and helpful!

Expérience négative: What can I say about this gym. It's the bare minimum of acceptability in a gym. It's a cheap monthly payment and you get what you pay for. The only rule the management care to enforce is having your gym bag on the floor. Members regularly destroy equipment, wreck machines, and don't put equipment away but no one seems to care. Every second dumbbell has the rubber face torn off because of morons dropping the dumbbells. Cables will regularly break and not be repaired for extended periods of time, and at any given time people leave dumbbells out and plates on machines. Finally to ad injury to insult the barbells have absolutely no grip left on them. You can't even locate the rings around the bar for spacing they're so smooth but you're not allowed to use chalk! It's very obviously a corporate gym where the only thing that matters is money and packing in as many memberships as possible. The worst part is because it's so cheap they've undercut the possibility of other gyms opening in the area to compete.

Expérience négative: It’s a good gym and the staff is nice, but when a piece of equipment breaks, you can expect to wait months before it’s fixed. Another issue I have that I cannot understand for the life of me as a personal trainer is that this gym puts their glute abductor, adductor, kickback, AND hip thrust machines in the women’s section. I guess only women should isolate their glutes and inner thighs as well as do hip thrusts? There isn’t a single glute or adductor isolation exercise in the main room. If there’s not enough space, then get rid of 3/4ths of those rocking machines that hardly anyone uses anyways. During peak hours, that section is nearly empty while the rest of the gym is packed with people waiting for equipment.

Expérience négative: Really disappointed! The gym was supposed to be open until 10pm today but closed down today at 8pm with only a sign on the door. They said they were closing down due to winter storm warning, which I can understand but it was not snowing AT ALL at the time. Many people still have to work regardless of the weather including my husband who is a first responder. Really annoyed that I drove all the way to the gym just to have to turn around again.

Expérience fantastique: This is the only gym I go to. First major sell is you can walk in as you are, petite or plus, without feeling judged or ridiculed by either staff or patrons. Second sell is the low cost, soo great!!! With the way things are going these days why anyone would choose to pay more is beyond me.

Expérience positive: Overall a good gym. Well maintained equipment and clean place. The only suggestion I’d have is to install stall bars /Swedish ladder. Those shouldn’t be too expensive and are very good for stretching and other body weight exercises. This is actually the first gym I’ve been to that doesn’t have it.
