He was very friendly and helpful. Today, I had my session with Payton Smith, and she was fantastic. She thoroughly analyzed my body and provided me with modified exercises to address my back and knee pain. I’m considering scheduling more sessions with her in the future—she definitely has the knowledge and expertise!

You have to wait around 1 month for repair There are 3 massage chairs. 2 of them doesn't work more than 2 months already. Repair it during a week or order a new one's Why people have to pay membership around 60-70$ per month for services like this At Club 16 you paying 20$ per month and everything works

Expérience positive: I love this Gym. The Renovations were awesome. I would have given 5 stars but they reduced the size of the stretching area in the back and now everyone is stretching on the turf area so you cannot do things like sled pulls or kettle bell farmers walk etc. They also removed the 72 lbs kettle bells. Now the 62 is the maximum and only 1 set. The Staff is great, I always love it when they greet you coming and going . I wish the newer Staff would focus on that instead of chatting with each other. The older Staff is great for putting the weights away for those of us that apparently work out so hard we can't do it for ourselves lol. I hope this advice helps . Now go to the gym

Expérience négative: I went here back in May/June, I had signed up for 3 sessions with a personal trainer to try out. Everything had been fine, there were a couple of comments that rubbed me the wrong way, but brushed them off. It wasn’t until the last session, we were going over the personal training packages to continue the training, they were quite pushy as expected. But so much that they suggested I sell personal items to help pay for the sessions, after I said I could not afford the outrageously priced packages. It left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.

Expérience négative: I usually visit GoodLife Fitness between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. due to my schedule. While I appreciate having the gym available during these hours, there are some challenges that need attention. The most frustrating part of my visits is having to wait outside in the cold, sometimes for at least 10 minutes, repeatedly ringing the bell and dialing the provided number. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, there is often no response. Occasionally, if someone exits the building or if the janitor notices me, they might let me in. When I ask why no one answers the door, I receive polite apologies—but the situation remains the same the next time. Apologies are not enough when I’m left waiting in freezing weather at 1:00 a.m. Additionally, the gym lacks towels during the night shift, which adds to the inconvenience. It feels as though the night shift is overlooked, despite being a crucial time for some members like me. I hope GoodLife Fitness can address these issues to improve the experience for members who rely on late-night access.

Expérience négative: Extremely frustrating experience with GoodLife, especially on the corporate side. We were suddenly notified that our banking information was incorrect, despite making no changes. As a result, we were charged a service fee. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, corporate avoided any responsibility for waiving the fee, even after admitting their system sometimes is incorrect with contact attempts. It’s disappointing to see a company show so little care for its customers and their concerns. Very unfortunate service from a business we expected better from.

Expérience fantastique: I have been training for Seraphina for 6 months now. I am amazed how strong I have gotten since I started. Beside losing weight and fat, improved mood, now I can carry my 6yr old daughter from the car when she has fallen asleep. My favorite sessions are doing deadlifts, the Hiit sessions and core workouts. I like how beside the workout sessions, she is able to guide about the nutrition aspect as well. I recommend anyone who is beginner like me to try out personal training. Best investment/ money spent for myself.

Expérience positive: My husband and I just did a 6 month personal training program with Seraphina. We liked training with Seraphina and she definitely knew how to push both of us, I was able to accomplish some weight goals I never thought I could do because of her encouragement. The PT program however that Goodlife comes up with is not in reality how Goodlife markets it. For example, they do not help you with diet/nutrition based on your own results, they do not teach you what to eat in a day and do not have a Goodlife program that would help understand macros. But they do charge you money rolled into the whole program for a diet portion that feels very misleading. I also had a consultation with a different trainer and told her what my weight loss goals were, and she very much said we could do it within the 6 months and I was more than disappointed that the goal was not hit with no troubleshooting from the program. I think Seraphina did a good job with the limited tools the program provides. All in all I would not pay the money it costs again based on the fact that the goals I had discussed initially were not met and it was very expensive. I will be back to see Seraphina for some weight training tips however.

Expérience fantastique: I love GoodLife gym at this location and was hesitant at first with having a trainer since it is something new and had to spend money and time, however I met "seraphina" trainer and she was willing to train me 2 sessions for free which was surprising. From the beginning I really liked her program which begins with stretching and slowly learning how to use equipment. I purchased 16 sessions with "seraphina", having been trained for almost 2 months, Seraphina really takes time teaching from the basics and cares for the client's safety. I have learned all those basic forms very well due to seraphina's help and patience level, and she always smiles that makes my days go smooth and happy. I do not encounter injuries anymore when deadlifting and deadlifts have become the most exciting exercise so far.

The RPM and BodyPump classes are fantastic, and the atmosphere is incredibly motivating. The instructors truly make the difference. They are not only highly skilled but also genuinely care about every attendee. Their dedication to ensuring everyone is engaged and supported is evident in every class. They maintain a great connection with all participants, making the workouts enjoyable and effective. These classes give me the energy and motivation to power through my day.

Expérience fantastique: I've tried several gyms in the Burquitlam area, and GoodLife stands out as the best. Although it's pricier than the others, the experience is well worth it. The gym is never overly crowded, even in the evenings. They offer a fantastic dedicated women's area and a turf zone. Since joining in September 2024, I've felt a great sense of accomplishment every time I visit. The convenient location and 24/7 hours are major perks. There are ample covered parking spots. Recent renovations and new equipment have significantly enhanced the facility, providing more space and updated machines, which I love. I highly recommend this place.

Expérience négative: Goodlife staff need to enforce the acceptable clothing policy! The men are dressed accordingly but the women however its getting ridiculous! Smaller bras, and I saw this one girl in just her thong doing poses for some show in the dance/aerobics room. Come on! I come here to work out. It's sexist and gender discrimination towards men when there's a women only section but none for men. I come here to workout, not to have a woman with skimpy clothing walking around. Keep this place professional! It is not a dance club.

Set up an appointment online with Katrina. My appointment was for Monday at 5pm. I showed up for 40 minutes early and the front staff said they had no idea there was an appointment today. He asked me to sit and fill out some papers. No one ever came, I left and emailed Katrina about my experience, another rep named Cathy responded and was not apologetic and said they would send my email to the GM and AGM for that location, two days.. no calls no email... Unprofessional

Expérience fantastique: Excellent. Great women’s section secluded away with private sauna steam room. Large change rooms , never busy when I come around 10 pm. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about , I love it here so far. 24 hours is very nice as well. The man that helped me at the front desk Tuesday evening 11 pm was very friendly and Knowledgeable.

Expérience fantastique: I would give this location a solid 4 stars, but putting in 5 stars to offset the rating as I do not think it deserves a 3.XX value. I really love the escalator entrance into the 2nd floor and am greeted with open space and high level ceilings which is aesthetically pleasing in my personal opinion. Equipment is great. I love how everything is organized and situated with a large turf zone for stretching or other movement work. There are 6 racks, 3 and 3 staged side by side barriered and facing each other. Although my review may lack supporting and comparable data to other gyms in Vancouver (I am from the East Coast), it's in my understanding that you pay for what you get. I pay for goodlife since I travel across the GTA and across Canada quite often for both work and vacation. I love visiting different goodlifes as they are the only brand that has 200+ locations across Canada, which is great for people who travel for work. I do wish they had more locations in Vancouver and parking can be a bit difficult to find, but I managed to find parking here in nearby plazas. The complaints in the reviews here should not diminish the quality of the gym, amenities, and experience this place has to offer. Not to mention, there is also great food around this area pretty much all within walking distance which makes the location in itself more attractive (Fitness World is a great gym too that I have found the couple of times I was in Vancouver. They were kind enough to give me free trials. Might be worth looking into if you are local.)

When I first signed up, I was at a disadvantage because they didn't give me a proper explanation, and I also suffered a loss when I changed the promotion I was using. I felt ridiculous and annoyed by this situation and talked to the employee about it, but nothing changed so I just moved on. I paid for the existing promotion first and changed it to a lower promotion, but they drew a line at me telling me to use the lower promotion. Even after paying for the high promotion, I could only use it for two days. I kept asking and only got a one-week extension, not two weeks, but I didn't use it because I felt bad. Anyway, this is the worst gym. And, not even 1 star is worth it

Expérience négative: I’m honestly disappointed and frustrated with this gym considering I’m paying $90 a month for every machine to be broken. The stairs are always broken if it’s fixed it’ll be broken within the week. Your treadmill’s all say “error” went in 5 different treadmills to find one that actually works. And if the machines are broken they stay broken for weeks.

Expérience positive: I have been enrolled in this gym since August 2023, and I just feel so accomplished every time I go. The location is great, and I like the fact that it is open 24/7. There are plenty of parking spots, and I love the towel services. A huge shoutout to all the staff, but especially to Georgia L. who started as my personal trainer and now I have been taking the bootcamp training with her, which is definitely a lot of fun and has helped me a lot in achieving my personal goals. Another huge thanks to Linda M. She is one of the instructors for the Hot Yoga classes. Despite being so nice and gentle, she is always around and available to help and teach you the best way she can. Of course, there are some points that I believe could be better. For instance, the washrooms could be cleaner, and there are some equipment that needs to be replaced and modernized. Other than that, I am excited to see how it will improve after the renovation.

First off, they increased my monthly membership price even though the staff who signed me up insured that I was grandfathered into that rate and it would never increase. The staff they have are completely useless. They all stay at the front of the gym and never go around to change paper towels. They are always empty. Finally, the “renovations” they have done are useless. No new machines, just corny wall decals. Joke of a gym.

Expérience fantastique: Used to be my friend Luc’s main gym. He switched to a different gym because (a) this gym never updated the barbells to include 1lb plates to accommodate his inability to lift and (b) he believed that the gym had not returned to their pre-pandemic hours (despite being listed as 24 hrs online) so that he could lift the 5 lb free weights in the dead of night without feeling judged. This gym has great staff, the equipment is adequate, and the hours and location are very convenient.

Expérience négative: Been a member for over 4 years. I pay almost $30 bi weekly. The hot yoga classes are always full, the gym equipment in the women's area has been broken for a long time. Specifically the cardio machines. They either don’t adjust with the buttons, are in very poor shape, or they simply just shut off randomly. I’ve worked out in the co-ed side at night and have been harassed by other men who exercise there. Now the women’s area is the only place I feel comfortable exercising in and even that area is below expectations. The steam room is always off. Towels everywhere, just overall unkept. They also just got rid of the tanning beds completely. Prior to this their tanning was limited to every 24hours, in which they changed it to 48hrs, then just completely removed the service as a whole. I’m not sure what my membership even entitles anymore. It’s not worth the price to exercise here unless the 24hour option is convenient for you. I was quoted less of a biweekly rate at Club Fitness right next door at Lougheed Mall which has way better equipment AND 24hr/tanning + classes with no contract commitments. Please do better as a gym to serve your existing clients as the condition of this gym is extremely dissatisfactory for the rates you are making members pay.

Expérience positive: On paper this should be a very good gym. Good location, large space, and nice staff. But it’s the placement of equipment paired with the shortage of equipment to match the volume of customers. This is a busy gym, and they waste so much space. 1/3 of the gym is filled with cardio equipment which is barely used. A very small free weight section. A large personal trainer section which is barely utilized, with a lot of that equipment being desperately needed by all the people going. The personal training area has too many squat racks, with not enough for everyone else. There is a large transition area towards a female only area. The transition has a few pieces of equipment for stretching and that’s about it. It could have been used for more free weight area, which again is very needed. Would not recommend this gym in its current state. There are better GoodLife’s.

Expérience positive: I'm here just because it is close. Steamer room is often broken, sauna the same. A lot of equipment doesn't work. Just service is ok. One more thing-a lot of girls use the sauna without a shower, it smell after exercising. No one does anything about it

Expérience positive: The gym is centrally located, has decent equipment, and has nice staff. However, their steam and sauna are always broken. Sauna was finally fixed after 2 months, and their steam room hasn't been operational since the beginning of August. It shouldn't take more than 2 months to "order parts" for a commercial gym like Goodlife, unless the "parts" are being shipped from a different planet

It's been over a month and I'm sad to see how I'm being charged full price for amenities not being open for use. It's sad how other locations in Canada have more to offer such as pools, newer equipment and recovery rooms with meditation chairs/massage chairs that are private. But the Goodlife close to my house can't keep the mens change room clean or repair broken amenities. I've been a member for sometime now so I'm holding on a bit longer to see if you guys can redeem yourself. Otherwise I'm switching gyms very soon.

I also have a few other gym membership I only come here due to it being very close to where I live but it's far from my first choice of gyms. Expérience négative: My recent encounter with GoodLife Fitness has left me deeply disappointed and appalled by their abhorrent behavior. The gym's ableist approach towards its members is simply unacceptable. From the moment I stepped foot into their facility, I could sense the lack of inclusivity and empathy. Firstly, their accessibility measures are almost non-existent, making it difficult for individuals with disabilities to fully participate in various activities. The staff seemed indifferent and untrained to accommodate the needs of differently-abled individuals, which was disheartening to witness. Moreover, the level of customer service I experienced was nothing short of abysmal. The staff appeared disinterested and dismissive, showing a complete disregard for the concerns and queries of members. It felt like they were more focused on upselling memberships rather than genuinely caring for the well-being of their patrons. To add insult to injury, there were numerous instances of equipment being out of order and maintenance issues not being addressed promptly. The lack of accountability and responsiveness only added to the growing list of grievances. In my opinion, GoodLife Fitness should seriously reconsider their approach towards inclusivity and customer service. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected at a gym, and it is disheartening to see a reputed fitness establishment fail so miserably in this regard. I would strongly advise potential members to think twice before choosing GoodLife Fitness for their fitness needs. Expérience fantastique: Beautiful and massive gym space. They have a great membership program that gives you access to a tanning bed, steam and sauna room, yoga studio, locker and unlimited fresh towels. The location is great as it's right next to Save On Foods and Shoppers Drug Mart. They have all the equipment you need to do various workouts and multiple sanitization stations to wipe surfaces and equipments. Highly recommend people in Burnaby to go there once while exploring gym options.

Expérience positive: This is an interesting time. Females can breastfeed baby in street, while males cannot take off cloth in gym.
Expérience négative: I’m paying almost $50 biweekly and everything should be better. Wifi should be only for goodlife fitness members so it should be private not open, IT DOESNT EVEN WORK. Front desk should improve their customer service since they only welcome their friends not to all guests. If you want to feel welcomed, you have be their friends. Some machines are in maintenance and even after they repair them, they still dont work properly. Washrooms should always be clean, everytime I work out there, it’s always a mess. If your going to charge that much I prefer to go to other gyms that are better and charge me for less.

Expérience négative: This gym used to be $44 a month and now it’s over $80 for the cheapest membership, they doubled the price. I tried the drop in to see if I wanted to reinstate my membership and the same equipment that was broken is still there 3 years later. The men's Sauna is absolutely disgusting as well. This fake woke company greedflated their prices big time but put out ads acting like they care about people’s fitness. This is not a luxury gym but charges a premium like it is, your trainers are barely even qualified and mostly unfit preying on unhealthy people who don’t know any better. There is 3+ other gyms within a few blocks radius that charge either 1/4 of the price or 1/2 the price with similar hours and the same or better equipment that is better maintained.

Expérience positive: It's a little more expensive than other gyms nearby. However, it is 24 hours (except Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). AS OF MARCH 1 2022, THEY WILL BE OPEN 24/7 again! The equipment is in good shape. A thing I have noticed is that 50% of the tvs on the equipment do not work, but who cares. They have lots of other neat Amenities like steam rooms, saunas, massage chairs, tanning beds, and lots of exercise classes. The place is massive.

Looks like a really taken care of facility, the hours are incredible. 110% would recommend if you are thinking of joining a gym, they even do complimentary 1 day trails, so if your gym shopping around definitely a place to stop by.

Expérience positive: The gym itself is pretty good. There aren't many decent gyms in the Vancouver area other than goodlife, west coast iron, and golds. Goodlife Metrotown is very busy usually. Golds Poco or Langley might be too far for many. Golds Broadway and UBC aren't worth mentioning.

You say you’ll contact the manger staff, but you don’t care, you only care about what it looks like on paper. The people writing you bad reviews are your u most loyal members, and you completely disregarded their concerns. None of the equipment gets fixed, like previously said. The mens sauna is disgusting and looks like it has not been cleaned in years, it is falling apart. GoodLife it’s time you take ownership of your mistakes, you lack empathy towards your members, and their concerns. Stop promoting contest and trips, no one cares, we just want a gym to run the way you claim. Thank you. Switched to a better gym because (a) they never updated the barbells and added more platforms like other locations were doing, and (b) they never brought back their old hours after the pandemic (even though the sign still says "24 hours"). They are so understaffed they have had random changes in hours with only a days notice. Multiple times I’ve showed up to the gym only to find it’s closed early. Now I’ve had to get into the habit of checking online to see if they’re open. Tonight I checked before leaving and saw the hours had FINALLY changed back to 24 hours. Showed up at 10:30 and nope, closed again. This place is a joke I’ll be looking else where for a gym membership. There’s no excuse for staffing shortages to stretch out for months on end, get it together.

Expérience fantastique: My son and I were just in town for a couple of days and I’m supportive of my son’s workout needs. We did not encounter any serious issues and for a fitness place that is open 24/7, I would have my son join if we lived here. My son said the equipment was in great condition, and privacy is there when necessary. Beyond that, for how big and busy this city can be, it is nice to know there are those who still find value in great customer service. Doing the right thing matters more at times than doing things right.

Expérience négative: Cancelling my membership due to long Covid complications/medical issue leading to job loss has me raddled. Given the run around in canceling, waiting to hear back for a week, having confirmation of cancellation and then another payment taken out a week later (roughly 3 weeks after I cancelled) in the orientation they avoided/did not talk about giving 30 days notice even when due to illness. On top of all that, the person I talked to on the phone was extremely rude, unhelpful, and would talk over me. When asking to talk to a manager, he told me ‘a manager won’t help you either’ and refused. I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know. *update* I called the 800# provided and no assistance was given…. Seems like they responded just to look good on the reviews.

I usually take budypump classes which I love, but the way I see there is no wait time for work out machines even in the afternoon that is supposed to be busy time. Definitely recommend this club

Your excuses of short staff is now sounding to me like a joke seriously, You should appreciate the support you have received from localities who are part of GoodLife to keep choose you in the hard times when Covid hit and was in for 2 years but seriously guys this is absolutely ridiculous and absurd to me, see the gym membership fees in the area, you are charging more for nothing being 24 hrs but of a big facility that is of no use atleast for me because of my schedule. And obviously this is not right to cancel my membership only because of this reason and again pay for membership when I want to come back. My account is on freeze as I have an option to but what happens after I use the max freezes allowed?

I initially joined this gym due to the fact that GLF was operating 24/7!! Unfortunately, time and time again they close early due to staffing shortages making it impossible for myself and many others unable to utilize this facility. Go anywhere else! I can see this chain of gyms being bought out and rebranded in the future, evidently…

Expérience négative: EDITED TO RESPOND: lol why don’t you ask your trash manager Derek why members are flocking out of the doors? Probably has something to do with the fact that he does a terrible job of valuing his members, making them feel safe, and overall just flat out doesn’t maintain the gym. The equipment has been falling apart for ages, especially the cables and there was no maintenance in the over a year I was a member. Not only that, but I was haras$ed and as$aulted by an aggressive member repeatedly, and despite several witnesses and incident reports, Derek did nothing. He put my safety at risk, and this member followed me to my car. This man could not care less about the safety of his members. If you’re looking for a gym that: A) values it’s members and their safety B) has clean, working equipment that they actually maintain, and C) a decent manager, go literally anywhere else.

Expérience négative: It’s decently sized. Has plenty of covered parking, and pretty easy to access. Equipments, while most do look aged, does work. Many different types of equipment for every part of the body and you can hire personal trainers at additional cost. And general area seems clean. My gripe is that the shower area is terrible. Water pressure is nearly non existent, very unclean, and small. It’s so bad that personally I just go home for shower. And compare to other gyms, price is bit higher than median. And there’s only one water drinking fountain. I’m only with this gym because it’s the closest one near me at the moment. So definitely take a tour before you sign up. *edited reviews for 2 star of Nov, 2022. The hours aren’t truly 24/7 anymore (it’s no Covid lockdown so no more excuses), only 24hrs on select days on weekdays and no on holiday/weekends, men’s room is filthy most days when I go in with used towels everywhere. The running machines/elliptical machines’ tv do not work (about 70%), they literally took off tv channels to more basic, monthly price remains the same despite all these downsides. Cannot recommend this gym anymore, go look for somewhere else.

Expérience fantastique: I don’t know why this gym doesn’t have a higher rating. I love this gym & my experience every time that I drive all the way from Langley for my workouts. My first time in, a really friendly staff member gave me a tour and made me feel so at home. The gym is very clean, even the showers and towels. The staff always greet me upon entry and seem eager to answer any questions I may have. The atmosphere in the gym is really great due to the variety of people that attend. The women’s section is quite small, but still has all equipment necessary to get a good workout in. The overall layout of the gym is really fantastic and there’s plenty of space for a hiit setup, walking exercises or jump roping. Thank you for having created such a safe and welcoming environment. I definitely recommend this gym!!!

Expérience négative: Joined for 24 hour gym so I can go around 4am on weekdays several months ago. It can get pretty busy later in the morning. Most machines work. Some have been out of service for am extensive period of time. They are still temporarily closed 11pm-6am but charging us the same premium rates. Fitness world nearby is cheaper for similar open hours . If GLF corporate responds to this review, you are welcome to forward these unsatisfactory reviews to your location managers.

Expérience positive: Brutal. It says 24 hours. I even checked online before heading in for my workout and it says 24 hours, yet wen I get there for 5 am, it’s locked up. They should at least update their hours online if they can’t be open their posted hours. Edit: I posted this in anger at 5am when they advertised they are 24 hours and are not. Since the original post they have updated their hours in google. I’ve always experienced friendly staff and it is generally clean and well maintained I have raised my post from 1 to 3. They should get more squat racks though, I always seem to be waiting to use a squat rack.

Not being able to fulfill staffing requirements isn't a burden that should be placed on the customers. If you are having problems finding staff to work for your advertised hours then be a responsible business and pay your employees a fair wage.

Expérience négative: Update - I've taken an additional star off my review as the gym is still operating at reduced hours due to staffing issues for nearly 9 months now. Even with gym closures, I find it hard to believe appropriate staff couldn't be found in this timeline and yet patrons are still being charged the full rate.... ------------------------- Only been working out here a month and there have already been 3 less than ideal situations: pipes burst so no morning showers before work for the better part of a week, hours reduced due to staffing issues, and then this morning the person who was supposed to open was late so everyone was locked out. I don't even know what time they arrived but I ended up having to leave before someone showed up. I don't mind the facility overall and maybe it's just my luck but I can't say I'm exactly thrilled with my experience thus far.

After a couple weeks here there was a notice on the door that the hours were changing effective immediately from 24 hours to 6AM - 11PM. Judging by the amount of people still working out when we were notified we had to leave, there is going to be quite a few upset patrons.

As of this Monday suddenly they changed there 24 hour gym to open at 6 am ! I can’t believe they can just do that without no notice , no email or phone call to let members know. I found out by coming early and waiting in the cold until it opened at 6am. I love the gym just disappointed by the changes by management. I hope it changes back or I will have to find a new gym

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been to many gyms in the Burnaby area and good life is by far my favourite. They have all the equipment needed and amazing staff. To be honest, I used to bash the women’s section before realizing it is the best one within miles of this area. Way better than the women’s section in the Metrotown GoodLife. I don’t use the women’s section tho… lol

Expérience négative: I've been coming here for a while. I'm disappointed in the gym. Half the new machines the TV doesn't work. 2 of the shower stalls have been out of order for about a month. The shower area doesn't seem like it gets cleaned daily. You see the same bar of soap/bandaid sitting in the corner for days. The personal training area has been relocated and not private anymore, and it makes you feel like you're in a fish bowl.
