Expérience fantastique: I have had a membership forever with fitness world and have gone to a few different locations. I decided to work with a personal trainer at the Lougheed location and started working with David Noda. He is absolutely amazing. He has helped me so much in the last 2 months. He is always so positive and encouraging. I really love working with him and highly recommend him if you are looking for a trainer that is amazing, supportive and so great to work with.

Expérience négative: Culture at this GYM needs a makeover ASAP. Too many people occupy the equipment as if it’s their own only to sit on it and flipping their phones. Worse: most of the time people reject work in even if you ask nicely. FW needs to take proactive actions to make the gym more proficient. During the your tour, pay attention to how many people are sitting on the equipment and walk away if you see many as it’s gonna be an uphill battle to actually make use of the money you paid.

Expérience positive: Work out regularly here. Although it’s not a bad gym, it gets very crowded, the more useful machines are always taken and I’ve noticed allot of people sit at machines on their phones. The staff in my experience are very friendly when you’re looking to sign up but less so after you begin using the gym, but this common in most places. If you’re looking for a quick workout, cardio or classes, it’s a decent place. But if you’re looking for a reliable strength workout, I’d be prepared to wait a while for some machines.

Expérience fantastique: I recently had an amazing experience at Fitness World Gym at lougheed town centre. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome from Rico, who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his job. Definitely one of the best employees, He took the time to understand getting my membership back and provided great support. The gym itself is well-equipped, clean, and has a great atmosphere. Expérience positive: Fitness World Lougheed Been a member of FW going on 30yrs. FW Lougheed has great parking availability and access to FW is also easy. Every morning Rico awaits us with a . The gym itself is airy with equipment spaced decently. There are ares for heavy weight lifting, body bulders, aerobic rooms, stationary bikes and joggers, and many standard maintence weight machines. As a senior, I do miss the EGYM for its even smooth tension, but slowly getting use to the other gyms machines, albeit lower weights. The clientele are respectful and friendly. Recovery room has been a great asset to the gym and not overly used. Locker room is decently clean, plenty of shower stalls and lockers. Showers are well used and the grout could get a bit more attention. Other than a few items of personal preferences, this FW has done me well over the yrs and I expect to be a member here long into the future. Now if only there was room for the EGYM to return .

Expérience négative: I have been a member of this gym for more than two years. It has been a while since I noticed that the hand sanitizers are not refilled. Even though I informed the reception, they have not been refilled yet. Since the gym is one of the places with high traffic and dangerous for the transmission of diseases, it is necessary to have hand sanitizers refilled regurarly.

Expérience fantastique: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been training with Sean at Zym, and I can’t recommend him enough! He’s an excellent teacher who really focuses on form, always correcting my positions when needed. Sean is incredibly kind and attentive, especially when I have aches or pains in my back or neck—he adjusts my workouts to ensure I stay safe and effective. Thanks to his guidance, my metabolism has improved significantly, and he consistently motivates me to stay active, even on non-training days. If you’re looking for a personal trainer who truly cares about your progress and well-being, Sean is the one to go to!

The hydromassage, the body massage chair, and the leg compression are worth it. All the staff have top-notch professional expertise; their customer-centric approach sets them apart. For a whole year I was being charged 44$ a month, without even using the gym. Emailed em many times to cancel my membership after ending the contract, still they charging me after the contract ended. Expérience négative: Machines are constantly broken and it takes an inordinate amount of time for them to be repaired. After "repair" the machines then immediately break again. Charging a yearly maintenance fee in addition to the member fee is galling when nothing actually seems to be maintained.

Expérience négative: This definitely not a gym for serious lifters. Pay an extra 10 bucks a month and u won't have to wait in line for a squat rack, or preacher curl. Or bench , or rows or literally everything else lol. This is gym is packed when you least expect it to be packed lmao and packed at most random times The atmosphere is chill and there is a food court like seconds away.

Expérience négative: On March 2nd, I went to the gym to cancel my membership. I was informed that I would still be charged for two more by-weeklys because the billing was already scheduled. I agreed, and everything was fine. On April 1st, they charged me $52.00 for an annual fee. I called to inquire why I was being charged an annual fee when I had already canceled, and the person said that the charge was correct because it was within 30 days following the cancellation. It's absurd that they're charging me an annual fee when I won't be using the gym anymore. One of the reasons I canceled was to cut expenses, and I don't agree with the $52.00 charge. I was very frustrated with how I was treated when I called; I was told that it was correct and that they wouldn't refund my money.

Expérience négative: I tried the 3 day pass and I regret going. The gym is very dirty and it’s hard to find the cleaning wipes. The gym is also very old and needs renovation. There are a lack of windows and the equipment is too close together therefore I felt very trapped. The staff is not well trained or friendly. I asked a personal trainer for help with one of the equipment and they didn’t bother coming to help me, they just explained a little and then went on with their conversation. The front deck staff is even worse, WHILE talking to me the front desk staff were on their phone, this happened multiple times. I asked to be taken off the text chain because I got very strange texts during my 3 day trial. I had a tour booked for 10am but during my route to the gym for my tour I got a text at 9:38am saying “sorry we missed you let’s reschedule your tour”. I also received a text asking when I would like to activate my 3 day pass but I had already been for my tour and 2 workouts and also scheduled a follow up meeting. I do not recommend going to this gym.

Expérience négative: This place is complete trash. As soon as you walk in you are greeted into a smelly musty gym. Not to mention that the Air conditioning here does not work at all it’s unbelievably hot in this gym and absolutely zero airflow is present. Equipment is broken and gym is always crowded. Go to fitness 2000 across the street instead of this hot boxed sauna.

Expérience négative: Recently relocated to Coquitlam, and I thought I’d stick with my previous gym. Used to go to Marine drive and Davie st. But unfortunately this location did not live up to my expectations. The staff weren’t helpful and did not want to show me around. The location is hard to access without proper instructions of the entrance from the mall. The gym was too hot, dirty, sweaty and small. The changing rooms were disgusting and the equipment were half broken or out of service. Would not recommend nor do I think I want to continue with fitness world anymore sadly. I had such a great experience at the gyms on marine drive and davie st with friendly and welcoming staff.

Expérience négative: One of the worst gyms I’ve ever seen in my life. Dirty, almost no airflow, half machines are broken, and there’s not actually enough space and machines in general. Changing rooms are dirty and old, like the gym overall. It definitely needs full renovation. I’ve been to different gym in this chain and normally I’m exited to visit it, but this one… Also, does anybody know why machine weights are numbered instead of showing actual weight of it?

The front desk staff who helped me cancel initially said I can use the membership until today (doubled checked and even put it on my calendar) but when I showed up today, a different staff said I cannot. Expérience fantastique: Amazing experience, if you are looking for a trustable gym with great staff, fitness world is definitely the place you are looking for. Special comment’s to Oswaldo one of their members which is really helpful and are always there to help.
Expérience fantastique: Came in to workout at Fitness World for the first time and experienced the most friendly welcome by Osvaldo!! His Brazilian warmth was a refreshing welcome. He gave me a personal tour and let me know all the gym offered. The facilities are clean, modern and lots of choice for weights and machines. I would highly recommend it and say Ola to Osvaldo!
Expérience négative: Let’s be honest, it’s Fitness World. The equipment is mediocre at best, often not well maintained with rips and worn out padding, knobs and switches on machines often broken, and it’s usually overcrowded, and never has enough of what you want/need at these busy times. Too many people sitting for 5-10 minutes between sets on their phones, or admiring themselves in the mirrors. Front of house staff don’t make much effort to be friendly or engage with customers as they are usually talking to each other. PTs are hit and miss with their level of skill with clients from what I’ve witnessed. The other day a woman was doing deadlifts very poorly, while her PT was on their phone looking at Instagram and TiKTok. That seems to happen quite a bit, especially if the client isn’t very attractive. I’ve yet to see it happen with an attractive client, and I’ve never seen it happen if the PT is a woman, regardless of what the client looks like. Tanning booths are claustrophobic beyond compare and if you’re of any reasonable size good luck getting dressed or undressed easily in them. If I had to pay more than $20/month I’d go almost anywhere else. They obviously didn’t learn a lot from their previous bankruptcy.
Expérience négative: Each year, I visit Canada for a month, during which I joined the gym last year for a one-month subscription. I explicitly informed them of my intention to subscribe for only a month. Upon joining, they instructed me to cancel the membership 30 days before my departure to avoid additional charges while I was away. I followed their instructions diligently. However, to my dismay, they ended up charging me four times during my absence, and I was unable to reach them to rectify the situation. This year, upon my return to Canada, the same issue recurred. They overcharged me three times, and despite my efforts, I still couldn't obtain a refund. It's become quite frustrating and feels like a recurring issue.

Expérience négative: It’s a messy gym. Equipment arrangement doesn’t make sense at all. Front desk is setup in the centre of gym. please contact your port moody and kingways location for arrangements and maintaining sanitation.
Expérience négative: This is a great gym with many equipments and is really worth the money. I am very regular at the gym and would very much like to track my stats. The gym has an inbody machine which works although their printer is out of order since 6 months. I had raised it couple of time with the staff and their manager, all they said was they are going to raise a ticket. I would really like this to be fixed, hoping higher management can see my review and respond promptly.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been a member here at this fitness world for nearly a year and I have absolutely loved it! I started my personal training journey when fitness world had called me and asked if I wanted to use my free trial with a personal trainer. They inquired about what would be most beneficial for me to learn, and what would work with my fitness goal. Told them I was looking to grow legs and glutes and boy did they ever hook me up with the absolute queen of leg and glute workouts. They set me up with Lauryn and I enjoyed it so much I started to frequently book with her. Lauryn was absolutely fantastic, extremely kind, and very accommodating to my busy schedule. I’ve trained with her for about 4 months and learned so much. She went above and beyond what she needed to as a personal trainer and gave me plenty of tips as well when I was having back problems (told me what I could do to help it AND explained in detail the function of the muscle in my back that was hurting and why that was leading to others issues). If you’re looking for someone to motivate you but also be a kind friend in the gym, I’d 110% go with her!
