As was discussed with you, we made the business decision, when we re-opened after COVID, to not resume 24 access as there was not enough usage of the gym after regular staffed hours. Our hours of operation, per our membership agreements are subject to change. (This is something we rarely do and are weighed carefully). We wish you well in your health and fitness journey.

Expérience fantastique: I've had a very positive experience with the gym and especially with my personal trainer Melina. Having her teach me how to use everything and set up plans for me has made it so that I don't need to think about my workout, rather I can just go on auto pilot and that's super relaxing after a long day of decisions at work. She has also given me the confidence to know what Im doing when I go to the gym on my own between sessions. She always has a positive attitude and constantly checks in with me and modifies my workouts according to how my body is feeling. Overall, Gold's has been a very worthwhile investment over the last 6 months and I'm very happy with my improvement in weight capacity and appearance.

Expérience fantastique: I'm now in my fourth decade of gym attendance (both in Toronto and here on the West Coast) and Port Coquitlam's Golds is by far the best. The best managed (ownership, executive leadership, and staff), the best outfitted and the best of fellow body builders. Simply the best!!

Expérience négative: I am dissatisfied with the billing department and management . I canceled my membership two years ago, but I recently received a collection notice for a final amount due. I am confused as to why they didn’t charge my credit card or contact me directly before sending the bill to collections. Even after paying the amount due, I continued to receive collection notices, and the collection account wasn’t marked as closed on my credit report. Upon inquiring, I was informed that while the payment has been resolved in their local system, I must contact the credit collection agency to have it removed from their system. I am disappointed because I was not initially informed about the outstanding payment, my account was not charged directly, and now I am being asked to resolve the credit issue myself.

Expérience négative: If I could give it 0 stars I would. I joined with my partner years ago. We had cancelled two months in because the gym culture was hideous. I kept getting charged for services I was no longer using after communicating over the phone and email more than 5 times both my partner and I had cancelled. This is absolutely theft and horrible service. I now have a bill for 1240 dollars for services that I have not used 3 years later.

Expérience fantastique: Been going to this gym for awhile now, and while alot of gyms do have the same equipment- something brings me back to this specific gym and that is the staff. Specifically Yakira who works the front desk and has made my gym experience effortless from the very beginning. Her warm and inviting presence made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. I look forward to seeing her bright smile every time I walk in to workout. Expérience négative: I was a member for YEARS and had fond memories of my time at golds however I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with Gold's Gym. Despite cancelling my membership in 2022 and having email proof of the cancellation, Gold's Gym has unjustly referred my account to a credit collection agency, which could have significantly impacting my credit score and causing undue stress. Their actions are not only unprofessional but also potentially unlawful. The customer service at Gold's Gym has been appalling. It was virtually impossible to speak with anyone directly to resolve this matter. I had to reach out to golds gym west broadway to get the proper email! IT IS NOT ON THEIR WEBSITE. The lack of communication and accountability is deeply concerning. If my credit score is harmed, I will definitely take legal action due to the severe implications it could have on my credit score and overall life. I strongly advise potential members to reconsider before joining Gold's Gym. Their handling of cancellations and customer service is utterly unacceptable. REPLY TO GOLDS PORT COQUITLAM: I have read your reply, but the situation remains unacceptable. Despite my membership being with the Langley club, the invoice provided by Gold’s Gym head office was from Port Coquitlam. This inconsistency only further underscores the disorganization and lack of accountability within your company. The credit collection agency pursued me on behalf of Gold’s Gym Langley, yet the invoice came from Port Coquitlam. The whole company appears to be a disorganized mess, causing undue stress and anxiety. I stand by my original review and strongly advise potential members to reconsider joining Gold’s Gym due to these serious issues.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been coming to this gym for a few months now working with my Personal Trainer Ivan. I am doing rehabilitation from my motorcycle accident from a few years ago and wow! Ivan is a really great trainer who knows exactly what to work on every time I see him. I have noticed a huge improvement in my range of motion of my knees and other muscle groups that are very limited from my accident. Overall. I am very happy and pleased with my rehabilitation and progress with Ivan.

Expérience positive: The good part about this gym is size and high ceilings. It feels nice and spaceous. As for conuslatants: tried to shame me into membership, lost any interest after realizing I'm not buying one on the spot. Nonetheless, gave me a free admission as promised Equipment is decent, changing room is okeish. You need to bring your own lock though

He is not dedicated to his job and often neglects his clients, wasting their time and compromising their safety. His unprofessional behavior and lack of attention do not meet the gym’s standards. For a safer and more effective training experience, choose any other trainer.

Expérience négative: Lovely gym , love the equipments but My entire workout was disrupted because of the personal trainer Ivan. Me and my friend were working out and he kept on interrupting us and being rude for no reason at all. It happened more than 4 times and it made me feel unwelcome. He does not even pay attention to his own clients and kept on interrupting other people and not in a friendly way. 10/10 for equipment and zero for the experience.

Expérience fantastique: I joined Golds Gym PoCo when they first opened up and was very intimidated but about 2 years ago, I took the plunge and signed up for personal training! I was introduced to Maria Porcellato and my fear turned into confidence! Maria is very knowledgeable and supportive! I struggle with self doubt and self esteem issues but under the guidance and support of Maria, I feel strong and believe in myself! She pushes me to lift heavier, to do more reps but also knows when I just can’t do any more! For anyone looking for a trainer who will listen, I strongly recommend Maria!

Expérience négative: Think Twice Before Committing Long-Term While [Golds Gym BC] boasts quality equipment and maintains cleanliness, the overcrowded atmosphere significantly hampers the overall experience. It's not uncommon to wait upwards of 30 minutes for a machine, making workouts inconvenient and time-consuming. Furthermore, their aggressive marketing for annual memberships can be off-putting. They're persistent with their promotions, but don't be easily swayed. I recommend trying out the gym first before locking into a long-term commitment. Lastly, the cancellation policy leaves much to be desired. If you find the gym too busy to utilize, be prepared for a hefty $300 cancellation fee. Also, their classes didn't meet my expectations. They lacked variety and the quality I was hoping for. In conclusion, I'd advise potential members to consider these points before joining [Golds Gym BC].!!

Expérience fantastique: Getting back to fitness after cancer surgery and treatment has come with a lot of ups and downs. I was struggling to find the motivation and energy needed to push through both feelings of inadequacies as to what I was able to do physically and also the intimidation that comes from walking into a gym and not knowing your way around the machines. Luckily my friend Maria Porcellato is a personal trainer at Golds Gym and has helped me immensely with getting my confidence and strength back. Her knowledge of the body coupled with her sincerity and compassion and positivity has been a life changer for me. She is caring and supportive and an amazing motivator. Expérience fantastique: I was nervous joining this gym as a woman who wasn't fit already. I had this idea that I didn't belong. I signed up for personal training to get some knowledge about fitness and how to properly exercise. I had the pleasure of working with Maria as my personal trainer, she was amazing! She made me realize that I did belong, she motivated me and helped me get to a place with my fitness level that I felt confident. I continued to see her well longer than I had anticipated I would because i really enjoyed working out with her. I highly recommend Maria in the personal training department to anyone! When I arrived at 6:30 PM with a guest pass, I was informed that my guest would need to pay the full price of entrance because it was "close to closing." This policy was not communicated to me when I received the guest pass, nor is it stated on the pass itself. Additionally, I found the behavior of the woman behind the reception desk to be rude and unwelcoming. As a valued customer, I expect transparency and professionalism in customer service. You always send emails with promotions,offers why not one email asking about continuing the contract??? Also why takes 30 days to cancel??because you are taking the money,that’s why,it’s a scam. Expérience négative: Such a dishonest establishment ran by management that clearly don’t train their staff. I cancelled my membership and was told by a staff member that I was “all clear”. Next thing you know I owe 800$ and my account is in collections because my account wasn’t actually cancelled and they refuse to make it right. Spend your money elsewhere and don’t risk going here.

During the Covid, I couldn't go to the gym and they sent my account to a collection company. I had an email from their manager that he has freezed my account but they don't care because the manager has changed. Now, after 1 year, it has affected my credit, and I can't get a loan. I won't make any agreement with any GoldsGym anymore.

Expérience négative: I've been a member of Gold's Gym in PoCo for several years, and while I love the facilities and the classes they offer, I've had some frustrating experiences with their promotions and false advertising. I left Gold's Gym in 2021 because they didn't offer Zumba classes, which are essential to my fitness routine and the only services I need from my membership. I then switched to Fitness World but always wanted to come back to Gold's Gym in PoCo as long as they were able to get back Zumba classes and allow for enough people to participate to the class. However, my experience with their promotional offers has been disappointing. A friend told me about the 'Get What Your Friend Got' Promo, and managed to get her friend's rate. But when I tried to do the same with my friend Nancy, my request was declined, despite the lack of clear conditions on the website. This felt like false advertising to me. Furthermore, I received a text message a few days ago from Gold's Gym offering a special rejoining rate between Feb 15-19, promising a 1-year membership at the same rates. I initially joined at $13.99, but when I inquired about getting that rate back, management offered me $21.99 instead. This inconsistency and lack of follow-through on promises are frustrating. What's most upsetting is that while $8.00 (bi-weekly) may not seem like much especially for institutions like Gold's Gym, it's a significant amount to me. I've repeatedly asked for my old rates back, as I left the gym solely because they weren't meeting my needs. Despite their advertisements and promises, I still haven't received any resolution. Overall, while I appreciate the gym itself and the classes they offer which is why I rejoined last month despite not being happy with the rate extended to me but I'm disappointed with Gold's Gym's false advertising and unfulfilled promises regarding promotions and rates. It's disheartening to feel like a loyal customer isn't valued or listened to. All I am asking is to get my old rate back, and it seems like all they are doing is enticing people to join and give them cheaper rates forgetting or ignoring those who are there and supporting them. They balance or priority between Acquisition & Retention doesn't feel right.

Manager called us to come back in, asked us to give him a couple minutes so he can sort out our passes, but he never came through with the passes. Wasted our time. Expérience négative: From my limited experience this is not the best facility available in the area. The customer service and management at this location is simply put not good. It isn’t atrocious but it is not up to what most would consider a good standard. Manager (‘J’) is unwilling to make time or provide reasonable responses to inquiries. Answers questions through his staff rather than ensuring customers feel heard. Staff at front desk are very friendly however. Do not recommend even for a trial as they will hang on to technicalities to avoid following through on what they promise/offer (as evidenced by many reviews, not just this one). I would recommend reading on in the reviews to build a more full opinion. Not many are positive and the ones that are positive look like their origin may be from within the gym. As many seem to agree on, the management here lack the ethics and/or caring that is expected from a brand like this. I wrote this review after taking time to reflect and shake off the negative feelings. This was still my opinion

Expérience négative: This is a horrible gym. Do not waste your money to train there unless you like being in an overcrowded facility with not enough equipment and customers that have never heard of "gym etiquette." I foolishly signed in to a 2 year membership that I paid for and honoured even though I left the gym in less than a year to find a better facility. Gold's continued to charge me after my 2 year membership period and added interest charges that totalled over $400.00 after the fact. I was forced to give Gold's 1 star in order to post this review. There would be no stars at all if that were an option. Avoid getting burnt by this substandard company.

Expérience négative: For me to take time out of work and write a review is a lot, nor do I like to cause trouble. I just want to share my experience that can save others a hassle and potential harassment. Being a nurse and also a business owner, I didn't think I would go through a major downfall. Life happened where I lost my house and had to move in with relatives while I went through counselling and getting back on my feet now 2.5years later. These guys sent me to collections for over $600.00 not because of gym time I used but because OF A CONTRACT. Even knowing the circumstance I was in. With that being said, started then harassment phone calls, once again because of a CONTRACT. We are in an era where please try to refrain from any signage of contracts as possible. Then this year they sent another total to collections for an account that did not exist trying to collect extra money. Thank God I still kept the email of confirmation from 2.5 years ago. When I called, I knew I also needed email proof so they don't lie. Instead of an apology of trying to extort more money and sending it to collections, the women recanted and said she didn't have proof in writing but I sent the previous email for account closure and final receipt from the years prior. These idiots have caused so much time wastage and stress. To make time to even do this review, I'm at work on my break. I could of course not afford a lawyer than whereas I can now and would of fought this just for the purpose of humanity. I have a membership with Club 16/She's Fit, Club Pilates and a personal trainer now. They are not like this. Transparency is key and this company really will Destry you when there is a bigger picture in life. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM. THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED ANYTHING. Anyhow if you go through something in life, the customer service you will received from this company is beyond disgusting. There are many companies with policies in place like ones I work for and I own where we consider cancellation of services and deposit based on individual need. I will be posting more on my blogs in the upcoming months in regards to contracts. Also when approaching them, assure you have it in email - which is what I did to assure they didn't falsely take more money.

Expérience négative: The gym is way too crowded, people there are not respectful. The membership took 10 minutes to signup. However, the cancellation took over a month and still hasn’t been processed yet. They will promise you no questions asked policy if you need to cancel in the first 10 days, but a guy in the management was very rude and he interrogated me like a cop and treated very poorly questioning my affordability and saying “of course you are going to club 16” - why is that any of your concern where I go next? I had to talk to 2 different people just to know that I can simply send an email to cancel.

Expérience fantastique: I was blown away by the customer service I received when I first came in with my sister as a guest. Cole showed us around the entire gym letting us know what Golds gym had to offer in PoCo. From the welcoming community to the outstanding customer service, the gym had everything I needed to do my full week workout rotation. Something not many gyms I’ve been to have. 5/5 would recommend asking for Cole for the tour!

Expérience négative: Smells like sewage, owner is too cheap to turn on the A/C even in 40* heat, creepy staff, women’s section is a 10’ by 10’ joke, hip abductor machine has been broken for a year without anyone deciding to fix it, too many cardio machines and not enough racks and bars. Spend your money elsewhere - probably better off going to a club 16 if you are capable of ignoring the teenagers.

A few inaccuracies with your review though - we have air fresheners throughout the gym that are replaced monthly, our AC is always on (on an automatic schedule and is also serviced monthly to ensure it is running smoothly), and the abductor machine is in fine working order (when is was broken it was fixed as soon as we could get the replacement part needed - 2 or 3 weeks).
