Expérience négative: Beware of Movati Fitness's billing practices! Once you provide them with your credit card or banking information, it's nearly impossible to stop them from charging you. Even after multiple attempts to cancel payments, they continued to withdraw money from the account without authorization. Their cancellation process is frustrating and unreliable. Think twice before sharing your payment details with this gym, as they may keep charging you indefinitely.

Expérience positive: Busy and pricey but OK. Make sure you are actually going to use minimum 4 days a week otherwise it is not worth the money and you have to find the right time to go otherwise you end up with long wait time for each station. If you have friends who is going there check with them first for more information.

Expérience négative: Worst gym ever ! As soon as you sign up you can’t cancel it even if you don’t have money to pay them you have to pay them otherwise they can sue you!!! Don’t go there!!! Don’t ever give it a try !!! It’s over crowded!!! Expensive and their rules of no cancellation before term ends is disgusting and government should stop them !!! I’m unemployed now and don’t even have money to buy myself a face cream, this no cancellation rule is against customer and human rights!!! Worst gym ever !!! They know that what they are doing is wrong and since they don’t care about people they just money hungry , they don’t respond to their reviews and Emails ,they don’t apologize and don’t try to keep their customers happy and satisfied!!!

Expérience négative: Sends unsolicited text messages and calls me THREE times in a span of 2 minutes. I've never given this company my phone number or any of my information in my life. I don't appreciate the constant calls and messages. If someone doesn't pick up after the first call goes through then I would say it's very unprofessional to call two more times after that. This experience has made question how they have gotten my information and the ethics of this company.

Expérience négative: Recently had to cancel my membership that I've had since 2018. $48 biweekly is crazy and the gym is constantly overcrowded at every hour of the day. Members have no sense of personal space whatsoever (at least in the women's section).

Expérience négative: I recently joined this gym with high hopes, but my experience has been nothing short of alarming. Instead of a supportive fitness environment, I found a place where illegal drug use seems to be a disturbing norm. I witnessed multiple individuals openly using cocaine in the locker room, which made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. The staff appeared indifferent to the situation, and the lack of security made it clear that they do not prioritize the well-being of their members. It’s disheartening to see a facility that should promote health and wellness instead become a hub for drug activity. I cannot recommend this gym to anyone looking for a safe and positive workout experience.

Expérience négative: Yeah, atmosphere in this gym is horrible. It’s negative, Most of the staff are not very friendly. The management is very poor and all the members specially, the male have a rage. I have witnessed four fights in the past 3 months of going there, one I had to separate myself where the guy was in blood. I do not, I REPEAT, I DO NOT recommend this gym, I don’t feel it’s safe environment for the younger people and It’s not worth the price, They always have equipments that are busted and been sitting there for over a month not being fixed, I have been to most of the gyms in Toronto, and this is by far the worst gym I have ever gone & experienced. I do not recommend this gym to anyone!!!!

Expérience négative: I recently had a disappointing experience at Movati Athletic. First and foremost, the gym is perpetually crowded, making it difficult to find equipment or even space to work out. The towel service is also lacking; there are often not enough towels available, which is frustrating. To make matters worse, I’ve heard of multiple locker break-ins, raising serious concerns about security. It’s disheartening to feel unsafe while trying to focus on fitness. On top of that, the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, adding to the overall negative atmosphere. I expected much better from a facility of this caliber. I definitely do not recommend Movati Athletic.

Expérience positive: It has its ups and downs. Haven't interacted with the new group of staff much but they're friendly for the times I did, one even address members by name, which is appreciative. The equipment layout upstairs have been optimized (a while back) and I really like the addition of the pendulum squat. The new squat racks are great (by new I mean they've been there for months now). The lockers need some serious cleaning though, dust and debris collects at the edges and corners (plain vacuuming won't do btw). It's becoming more of a hunt for a clean locker than one that's available. Wish the clientèles respect the place and rack the weights properly. I appreciate that staff-derived protein shakes is now a permanent feature and I look forward to more creative takes in the future.

Expérience négative: Very Disappointing Personal Training Experience I’ve had a highly frustrating experience with the personal training services. My trainer frequently cut sessions short, was unprofessional, and often distracted on his phone. Despite raising my concerns several times, nothing changed, and I saw no progress after months of training. When I spoke with management, they offered to switch trainers, which didn’t address the time and money I had already wasted. The overall lack of professionalism and care has left me extremely disappointed. I would not recommend their personal training services.

Expérience fantastique: I can’t express enough gratitude to Sadegh Ahmadi for the incredible support and expertise that have completely transformed my well-being. For almost 5 years, I suffered from chronic shoulder pain that no one seemed to be able to diagnose or treat effectively. I tried various therapists and doctors, but nothing worked—until I started training with Sadegh. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for expert guidance in achieving their fitness goals or overcoming injury.

Expérience négative: I will definitely not choose this place again. Prices vary from person to person. Even though I pay $60 every two weeks, nothing is included. The employees are very rude. They do not respond politely. The female employee I spoke to at the entrance at 10:30 on October 7 was absolutely rude

Expérience fantastique: I like this gym, nice clean and has all the needed facilities from steam room, pool, sauna, hot tub and much more. Recently the gym has become very crowded but that’s the only negative I have about it. My entire family wants to join it but they don’t offer any family deal or package. Wished if there was one.

Expérience fantastique: I joined Movati a little over a month ago just for the pool, with our pool season coming to an end, I needed a place to do my daily swim. Staff been friendly, facility is clean and top notch. And to be honest while I strictly joined for the pool, 2 weeks in I started their Aqua classes with and Karen and Elham and I loved it! Disclosure, be on top of booking cause their classes fill up very fast! But a shout out goes to Elham, she’s a very talented/skilled instructor who is really funny and has a way to make everyone feel cared for. She has inspired me in taking her other strength classes outside of the pool! This was completely out of my comfort zone but now I’m getting more of Movati than just the pool. So whoever you are if you are thinking to join, take a chance and see you at the pool and now even in the weight rooms! Thank you Movati in investing in Instructors that care and motivate.

Expérience fantastique: I'm a new member to the Movati Richmond Hill Location. I've been very imppressed on how well I've been treated. Many of the staff and instructors are kind and curtious. I appretiate the hospitality of being greeted. Kenesha has been outstanding, highly recomend her if you want a tour or sign up as a member. She goes the extra mile to greet me and ask how I'm doing. I also love the aqua classes. They help regain my strength from past injuries. My goal is to gain my strength back. Also to push myself to exceed higher levels. I joined my first class with instructor "Elma M" who is by far the best instructor I've worked with. Her classes will be on the top of my list to attend. I highly recomend attending these classes.

Expérience fantastique: Movati is very convenient and more then just a GYM. I like working out there and use other facilities to relax. Classes are amazing, some couches could be nicer sometimes, overall everything is 8/10 (classeswise). Most of people coming there are having good behavior. I see as beneficial that movati has very long working ours and towel service. I also think that it is extremely important to have always clean towels and helpful stuff.

Expérience positive: What happened to the training in the pool today September 25! instead of 25 people there were 32! and that's not right! it wasn't a training, but walking on water! People couldn't train normally! I always register in advance and I never thought of coming and training without registering! And the trainer, seeing that we were almost on top of each other, allowed it!

Expérience négative: Initial, they encouraged me to get premium membership because of freezing option. I accepted premium only for this reason. However, today I got flue and want to freeze only one week. I talked with them and explained my circumstances. Answer was terrible. Due to during the billing cycle, I am not able to freeze it. The process is so easy. Freeze my cycle only for one week then add to another. Also, they blame me having language bar. (I am a master student in UoT!) I will attend classes even if I got flue. So, they do not care other memebers as well. I cannot arrange my illness, sorry!!!

Expérience négative: Be cautious of their membership scam. After the 1-year membership contract ends, they continue charging your account. It's been 7 months since my membership ended, and I haven't used the facility during this time, yet they kept charging my account without my consent. When I called them, they refused to issue a refund and told me that I was required to give 1 month's notice before cancellation, and they will charge me for another month!!

Downstairs does not have anything compare to upstairs and it sucks for those of us wanting to workout downstairs in the women’s section. The Iranian lobby is formed and because of the Iranian lobby, I took a bath with my friend in the pool with a shirt on. Five people stood up to him and started saying that they cannot bathe in the pool with their shirts on. If ladies can bathe with their bras and their shirts on, then why can't men bathe in the pool with their shirts on? can 1. "In a space meant for strength and growth, I was met with ignorance and pain." 2. "I came to build my body, but faced the weight of prejudice instead.

Expérience positive: Movati is a fantastic facility, and I really enjoy going there. However, it’s quite odd that some people save shower spots by placing their items inside and closing the curtain, making it seem like they’re occupied when they’re actually in the sauna. There should be a sign in multiple languages clearly stating that reserving shower stalls is not allowed.

Expérience fantastique: I had an awesome personal training intro session with Christopher at Movati. He really knows his stuff and made the whole time feel tailored just for me. Christopher took the time to understand my fitness goals and came up with exercises that were both challenging and fun. His positive energy and encouragement kept me motivated throughout the session, and I walked away feeling great and excited. If you're looking for a trainer who genuinely cares and knows how to get results, Christopher is your guy!

Expérience négative: I’ve been going to movati for over a year. Since the new year the gym has gone from good to bad. For the price you are paying you would expect much better customer service yet on my last day I received bad service from the lady at the front. I was told my last day was the 11th and I came in on the day, my membership did not scan. I had drove over 30 minutes to get there and I was told my membership expired on the 10th, I asked to go in as it was my last day form what I was told and had been a customer for a long time. With attitude she said no unless you want to pay for a day pass or renew your membership. Completely put me off from this gym, no care or respect for their customers. All they care about is getting as many new customers as possible. Gym is extremely busy, people have no gym etiquette (wiping down after themselves, putting weights back or letting you share with them). For this price you would expect a much better experience. Washrooms also have a moldy smell. If you want a gym that values you as a customer, tests you with respect, is clean and has good washrooms. This is not the gym for you.

Expérience fantastique: I've been training for 20+ years and have been a member at almost every single gym in the Richmond Hill area at some point in time. No gym has come close to what Movati offers for me. Staff is mostly friendly, some kids at front desk that aren't great with eye contact or greeting, but who cares, ain't there to make friends. Change rooms are big enough, only 2 stalls in the male side which is a bit annoying if you need do drop a deuce. They are well maintained and almost never dirty, let alone filthy. The weight floor is spacious enough, could be a bit better with the dumb bells racks but you can move the benches around so it's mostly a non issue. Dbs up to 120, that's nice. Machines are well maintained and generally not down for service for longer than a few days. Big selection. A gripe is that there's only one smith machine that is almost always taken up by a woman doing hip thrusts for 45 minutes, completely oblivious. The people at Movati can be irksome at times, crowds of kids or just ignorant members who have no concept of gym etiquette or how to clean up after themselves but hey what else is new in today's society? Like any gym of this size, it is crowded during peak times and can really test the limits of your patience if you're serious about lifting and have to deal with selfish ignorant goofs. It would be nice if the gym enforced more rules, such as members putting their dbs back or unloading their machines. Some people just have zero respect and need to be shamed/forced into being a decent human. Diversity is our strength. All in all, for the first time in a long time, I have that excitement and anticipation whenever I'm driving to the gym. Oh ignore the idiots posting about the parking lot - it is huge and never packed, these lazy SOBs just want to park 2 feet from the entrance because walking TO THE GYM is too much work. Same slobs use the elevator to go up 1 floor. LOL.

Expérience négative: Good classes, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICES. When I signed up, I was told I could have TWO weekly pass to two guests. And I was told specifically I could change them later because I wasn’t sure if my mother is going to travel internationally, so I put my mother’s name on it. Now I need to change one name on MY OWN FREE PASS to invite a person, guess what, no you cannot. You have to either upgrade your membership to premium to get the pass or kiss goodbye to what you were promised when signing up. The front desk is horrible with their attitude towards you because obviously your membership is only standard, not premium enough for them. I have been in this gym for two years, had personal trainers. Almost half a year of gap but paid everything on time. Now I have only regret left. I would absolutely NOT recommend anybody to come because they can change their mind and you are screwed, what a joke. I will not continue my membership even though one of the classes are really joyful. It doesn’t worth the frustration I get.

Expérience négative: I'm new to the area and heard this was a great gym. Called to see if they offered some sort of trial pass for 1-3 days and they said no. They wanted $30 for a day pass which I uderstsnd nothing is free. The thing I didn't understand was when I came in and asked the receptionist if someone could show me around they said no. Sucks for me because I heard this gym has alot of nice amenities

Expérience fantastique: I've been a member of this gym for a while now, and it's by far the best gym I've ever been to. The facilities are top-notch, and the variety of group classes offered is impressive. The staff and trainers are friendly and very knowledgeable, making every visit enjoyable. One of the standout features is how super clean the gym is kept at all times, which is really important to me. However, there are a couple of downsides. During peak hours, it can get super busy, and you might need to wait in line to get on a machine. Additionally, parking can be challenging as the entire lot often fills up. Overall, despite these minor inconveniences, the gym's excellent facilities and classes make it worth it. Highly recommended!

Expérience négative: Recently there have been locker break-ins at this gym and my son had his locker broken into twice even though it was locked. The first lock was cut, his belongings rummaged through, nothing stolen as he does not keep valuables in his locker, second lock (a good metal one) stolen. Called Movati to ask them what they would be doing about it and all they said is "there is nothing we can do, you should make a police report". The police will request camera footage from outside the change rooms as there are no cameras inside. This gym charges a lot for membership and all they say is there is nothing they can do to prevent these break ins from happening. Please be careful!

Expérience négative: I enjoyed a one week pass and was convinced I would join. Went prepared and the pricing I heard when I met with the rep and the pricing today was different. They change their prices and are not clear. I felt like I was about to be conned into an agreement I wasn’t feeling comfortable about. Now I have read the reviews and seems it’s common. Very unfortunate given the classes are amazing and their business can do so much better with good training for their administrative team.

They messed up information on my account when signing up and gave me issues every time when it was their fault. Expérience positive: Overall it's a great gym and I've been loving my experience here for the past 2 months. Some things i would ask to be improved: - Parking is very limited, especially during busy times. You gotta arrive early to fight for it - Front desk staff are not very professional and give me the wrong answer a couple of times. They need to be properly trained - Not enough gym equipment for their classes if you arrive just on time. They need to purchase more of those - The one year contract is hard to sustain. You absolutely cannot cancel after you sign so you gotta be sure to commit even if you're injured. They do offer vacation freezes though

Expérience négative: My wife and son became members at Movati about 6 months ago and they had to sign a contract that they couldn’t understand or read it because their English is not that fluent. Also they were in another fitness club before without any contract or obligation to stay with them for any reason. After a few weeks my son decided to change the club as he was not satisfied with the club but the club’s staff had told him you can not cancel your membership till end of the term, just you can transfer to someone else if you can find anyone. Now my son has to leave the country for 8 months and I talked to a manager about this issue but he said the rules doesn’t allow him to do anything about canceling the membership. I think it’s not fair to force people to stay in club while they’re not happy with their membership. This policy makes people unhappy and for sure they lose many members just like my wife that will leave Movati forever and my son also when returned. They will go back to LA Fitness again even it’s a bit far. In LA Fitness there is no contract, price is lower and members can take one or two guests with them anytime.

Expérience négative: The facilities at this gym are never working. Between the cardio machines, the steam room and sauna, something is always broken. They charge astronomically high fees for equipment and facilities that are out of commission almost all the time. This is unacceptable. To give an example, I went to the gym on May 24, 2024 and the steam room was out of commission. Now almost 10 Days later I’m back and it is still out of commission. No compensation or alleviation of monthly fees for the inconvenience. Absolutely frustrating. Go somewhere else. Update to the review on June 8, 2024. Back to the gym again today after a week off while I was sick. Today, the steam room is now operational but the swimming pool is now closed for maintenance. Not sure why the maintenance would need to be done during work hours on the weekend. Makes absolutely zero sense. Further adding to my frustrations with this place. You can never come here and have all facilities up and running. Place is complete garbage.

Expérience négative: They are scammers. I asked for a one year contract as I knew I would not be living in Ontario for more than that time. When I notified that I would not renew they said ok, but they kept charging me and when I complained months later they told me that I should have sent an email to another email address and that I did not use the right way to notify the end of the contract. Now I have constant calls to collect on something I never applied for renewal. We should review the contract with a lawyer before signing. And the people at the counter are very unpleasant.

Expérience fantastique: The group fitness classes are fantastic, unlike any other gym Ive been to. They cater to all levels and have many options to choose from. Elham’s classes are wonderful as she makes it fun to work out. She goes above and beyond to help everyone to preform to the best of their ability especially individuals with past injuries. I am impressed with her professionalism, she shows a genuine care for all members. I highly recommend this gym! Great facility and staff!

Expérience négative: I’d like to warn all existing and future members of this gym from being scammed by this gym. We signed up with Movati in February 2023 and was told that we could cancel within 10 days with no obligation. Despite canceling within this timeframe, we recently realized that Movati has been CONTINUOUSLY charging us bi-weekly payments until now (most recent may 2024) and now REFUSES to return this money to us. Unfortunately, we now have no other option but to seek legal help and enter into a lawsuit with this company in hopes of getting our money back.

Expérience négative: Overall an okay gym but the asian girl with the long black hair at the front desk made eye contact with me as I was waiting for a towel for 10 minutes and continued to chat with the boys that were flirting with her. Mind you she was not helping the boys they literally were joking and chatting. I was in shock of this unprofessional interaction and when I finally caught her attention she said, you can just grab one it's right there! (towels being rolled behind the desk I could not reach and towels are usually handed to you, you don't just take them, but she should know that). Paying 100+$ a month you'd expect staff to be professional but there is a lot of looking you up and down, eye rolling and literal rudeness from staff. She seemed angry that the boys she was talking to looked at me. Pure immaturity.

Expérience positive: In terms of facilities, Movati is the best gym I've ever gone to, and probably the best one I ever will. It is ALWAYS very clean. The pool is only 20m, so not half Olympic, but not too crowded, and the hot tub is also nice. I have had some very... interesting interactions with some staff, and gymgoers, some staff are kind of rude and unhelpful, while others are very considerate and helpful. I'd recommend it, only if you're going to go often, as it is quite expensive.

Expérience positive: I very much enjoy this gym! It’s not the most crowded, great vibe, quality machines and nice people but that should be granted given the pricing. I would not recommend the complimentary training session that is offered unless you think you are totally out of shape and need a trainer. My girlfriend had a poor experience with one of the Manager’s, Sadeh Bahmani. They were attempting to sell the training package by putting her down on her body and being totally unprofessional by including incorrect information in her training report. She mentioned that she works out 3-4 days a week and she said “obviously for nothing”. Bear in mind this is the MANAGER for the trainer's. They need to better train their employees on sales tactics as being disrespectful is not acceptable, especially for the money you pay.

Expérience fantastique: Ok! I’m loving all these reviews… just goes to show how stupid people in general are. It’s a great gym, great staff extremely clean and you get towel services. The classes and instructors are wonderful, the equipment is high end and extensive. The gym also has a large sized women’s only area with its own pool for those interested. A lot of the 1 star reviews talk about how they cannot cancel a contract they signed up for 1 year, if you’re too stupid or incompetent to read the highlighted terms that’s your problem not the gyms, get a non-commitment membership. I don’t think those reviews are fair.

Expérience positive: Before today, I always had good reviews on Movati (RH). Recently, I noticed the downgraded environment and services. One day, I left my gym bag in my locker or on the locker room bench. The next day when I went to look in the "Lost & Found", all the contents of my gym bag were poured out into a big drawer, and I had to scrap through all kind of dirty clothes to find my own contents from my gym bag, which was opened, and the staff did not bother to zip up the bag before they "dumped" into the drawer. I lost my hat and a branded sunglasses. I noticed also the gym lately is overcrowded and people just stayed in the same equipment station, chatting away or looking into their phones. It is not what it used to be.

It’s a complete mess.Equipment breaks down and rather than fixing, management just hauls it away, leaving us with fewer and fewer options. What’s worse, they seem to let just about anyone sign up without any limits. The place is perpetually packed, making it impossible to get a proper workout at any time of day. Their ridiculous policy traps you into a year-long membership with no escape route, effectively taking your money in exchange for subpar services. It's more than just a disappointment—it's a scam. Save your money and your sanity. Don't get locked into this nightmare of a gym. You'll regret it!

The women's section is a joke, the weight machines are outdated and some of them don't even work properly. Seems like they put all the left over machines in the women's section. Perhaps they should charge women a lower fees since all the good machines are upstairs in the general section which is over run by men.They just started the reformer pilates classes which are so so expensive. I have a Lagree studio membership that is cheaper and Lagree specializes in reformer pilates.Overall, it's just an ok gym but I don't think worth the double the price of LA Fitness.

Expérience négative: Great facilities/ equipment but it’s poorly run. As someone that goes between the Richmond hill, Burlington, and Mississauga location the Richmondhill one is the dirtiest, most unorganized one by far. Plates put away in complete disarray, equipment left lying on the ground scattered everywhere. I watched a janitor clean the floor around the scattered equipment and didn’t bother putting it back. Lazy. I understand gym users are the problem, not the staff. But when you let equipment, plates, and dumbbells be put away in chaotic fashion it tells members “no one cares so why should I?” Of course no one will put things back. Again, this doesn’t happen in Mississauga or Burlington. People pay 100$ a month for memberships. Do better.

Expérience négative: I joined the gym right when it opened and it was an example for all previous gyms that I attended prior. Although past covid some things are getting over looked and it no longer seems to be worth the hefty price. As a member we pay for the experience we receive but it looks like that is no longer the gym’s priority. The towels in women’s fitting rooms are constantly overflowing and employees consistently walk by without any acknowledgement, built up of hair is left in corners of the showers and left over wrappers making it unsanitary. The carpets in the main and second floor are covered in salt and it is SHOCKING how some people walk inside the gym with their outdoor shoes bringing in all the dirt and no one says anything. The provided mats are always cracked or missing pieces due to over use, something small that should be replaced monthly so it’s appealing to the guests to use. Some machines are constantly broken and seems like they don’t get replaced for months which limits the machines even more. Overall the gym requires serious attention to the customer experience and a re-evolution to their strategy to ensure they don’t leave guest unsatisfied and get them to opt to get a membership to a different gym. If I’m paying over 100$ a month, I expect to receive a different level of service and right now MOVATI is not delivering with their employees, their services or their gym dynamic.

Expérience positive: This gym has its fair share of positives and negatives. Let's kick off with the positives.. this gym has great equipment, with machines designed to target every muscle group. & the benches come equipped with assist levers, which are solid for avoiding wrist injuries. The gym floor and change rooms are consistently tidy and well maintained. HOWEVER, it's impossible to ignore the downsides. The gym is consistently overcrowded, no matter what time of day you visit. Waiting for equipment is practically a workout in itself. Finding parking nearby is always a hassle, and it often feels more like a social hangout spot than a place for serious workouts, with people lingering and socializing over the equipment The staffs primary focus seems to be on getting as many people signed up as possible. And once you're locked into a contract, good luck getting out of it…. even after I moved away from the area, they refused to let me cancel without hefty fees or finding someone to take over my contract. I found someone willing to take the contract off my hands (which they allow), and even then, I had to cover all the transfer fees and throw in a month's payment for them.

Expérience négative: I regret to inform you that my experience with this gym has been extremely disappointing. Despite my repeated attempts to cancel my membership over the past three months due to no longer residing in the country, the employees and management have continuously given me the runaround and refused to cancel without me being physically present. This lack of flexibility and professionalism is unacceptable. I have been charged every month despite my efforts to terminate my membership, making this the worst customer service experience of my life. I cannot in good conscience recommend this gym to anyone.

Expérience négative: Disappointed in finding out that a promotional gift card had an expiry date today. If I was told there was a expiry date when I received it, I would’ve used it within the 90 days. Management did not offer an acceptable resolution by saying the terms are on the back of the card. Also I’ve mentioned more than once that many men’s’ lockers have missing or broken hooks to hang clothes in them. The first one I checked today had 3 out of three missing/broken. I settled for one missing 1. I previously mentioned the locker situation to maintenance staff and was told, that this is the first time they heard about it. An easy solution would be to make a list of the lockers and check very late at night or prior to opening in the morning and create a checklist of those missing the clothes hangers. A master check list could be referenced and checked off once repairs were completed. One shower today only had the rain shower working. It appears that daily checks of the facilities should be carried out in order to maintain the high end club perception the fees warrant.

Do your self a favour and join any other gym. Their staff is super friendly until you sign with them, after that no one cares about your concerns. I joined for the group classes and was really disappointed. Even the small cheaper gyms gave better instructors. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

Expérience négative: I find the management at this facility are not doing their jobs very well. The customer service I have received here has been way worse than the Brantford and Burlington location. Not sure if I’m the only person with a sense of smell who goes to this gym , but the men’s showers smell horrible. It makes me gag when I shower and it doesn’t seem like the staff really care to fix it. One of the managers also tried to charge me 35 dollars for a body fat scan and was really rude when taking to me. She needs a lesson in customer service. I got it done at the brantford location free of charge.

Expérience positive: There are a lot of good things and unfortunately bad things about at least this location: 1- no one answers your emails. 2- nobody cares about your concerns even very valid and not personal ones. 3- very busy and getting more difficult to register for the classes you would like to attend even 3 days before the session.4- parking is a challenge. 5- showers are not clean and only rinsed not washed( smelly and looking dirty) , and positive points: 1- late classes if you have a chance to register in time. 2- instructors are very friendly and explain every thing during exercise 3- there's plenty of lockers to keep your belongings. 4- membership fee is reasonable.and there are many other not -good things about it as well!

Expérience négative: Extremely busy at all times of any day. Facility is frequently lacking. Sometimes the sauna, pool, or even one time they said they have no towels available. I wasn’t even allowed to give my two guests a towel. Also, they don’t tell this to you but you cannot cancel a movati membership. You have to find somebody else to take over the contract and pay a $75 transfer fee. Very terrible customer service and sneaky sales tactics. Group classes fill up quickly and there aren’t enough to meet demand. Apparently I was supposed to get a gift card for referring somebody to sign up but still haven’t received anything 4 months later. When asked, they said “you’ll receive it soon”. If anybody wants to take a membership that goes to Oct. 2024, let me know. I am not looking forward to continuing with this gym. Avoid it at all costs.

Expérience positive: The gym in Richmond Hill has an opaque pricing strategy, unlike the other provinces where prices are transparently displayed on the official website. I asked the sales about it, and their response was that they didn't design the website. As a consumer, I think it's unfair that different members are charged different prices. While I understand that the gym wants to make more money, opaque pricing may raise concerns among potential customers. I've been a regular at this gym for about a month now. The facilities are good, and most of the instructors are friendly. However, I've noticed that some of the front desk staff have a bad attitude. While some smile, others roll their eyes at people. If you want to have a good experience, I suggest purchasing a membership and avoiding too much contact with the service staff. Moreover, the gym's customer service is not satisfactory. They do not respond to emails but instead call four days later at 9 pm. They talk fast and want to hang up as soon as they've said what they wanted to say. I find it tiring to communicate with them. All I want is to know the clear price online, buy a membership, and exercise without the need for sales contact.

Expérience négative: Unprofessional staff and poor customer service! I was in one year contract and even though I moved far away from this Gym, I knew that I cannot cancel my contract. I called them a month prior to the end of my contract and asked them how I can cancel that and they mislead me that you just need to show up before the end of contract. When I went there, only a day after my contract ended, because of my busy schedule and almost an hour drive to get there, they said now they need one month notice. KENESHA was the person I was in touch with. Received an email from her threatening me that if I don’t make the payment they send it to collections and when I asked her to do me a favor and kindly waive the fee, she replied to my email rudely with copy and pasting a part of the contract and repeating the policies!!! I would never go back to the gym that their staff don’t know how to deal with their clients!

Despite my excitement, I was disappointed when a young staff member at the door informed me that they were closing in 50 minutes Instead of offering assistance or a warm welcome, the employee simply stated they couldn't help me at the moment. I found this behavior quite unprofessional. This experience has made me reconsider renewing my membership, and I miss the welcoming atmosphere that used to characterize my earlier days at Movati.

No re-racking the weights after they finish with a machine and no wiping off equipment. It's depressing and frustrating. Staff answer is "people have no manners". Not good enough imho.

Signed up mainly to use the pool but its either busy or in the morning cleaning is happening with a loud noise of power wash. They should enforce the cap and even proper swimwear policy for the pool. It is absolutely disgusting and dirty with all the hair floating in the water, some ladies just come in with regular clothing and underwear, horrible. And when you complain to the staff they say it is what it is! very unprofessional!

Expérience négative: I had the worst customer experience here. I usually go to the Mississauga location. Went to this location because I just happen to be closer to me. I asked if I can work out here the woman at the front with glasses and twists and lighter skin tone. Told me I have to pay a five dollar fee in order to work out here. I asked if it could be waived due to the fact that it’s just a one time thing and if a one time exception could be made. She said no the Fee stands. I asked to a manager. spoke to manager Jayem he said he will not being waiving the fee because he doesn’t want . I’ve had the fee waived for my family members before in the past so I know it’s some thing that they’re able to do. I told him that I didn’t have time to drive all the way back to Mississauga just to work out. I told him I have very bad anxiety and work out really helps. He said I still have to pay the fee. I paid the fee, and after walking into the change room, I was very under please and dissatisfied with the experience I received at this location, so I then asked for a refund and I will go elsewhere. When the refund was not refunded to me directly. I had to call the front desk several times to speak with someone. Just for them to tell me that it takes 3 to 5 business days to have the refund credit back to me. That is extremely unfair and considering that that was never told to me that’s very dishonest on Movati part. Nonetheless, I had to drive 50 minutes in traffic just to go to the Mississauga location just to work out. Very very bad customer service. Very very bad staff very very bad experience will not be back. Do not recommend to sign up at this gym. Only go to Mississauga location!!!!. This gym is very bad and the stuff truly sucks and has no desire to help anyone or accommodate their clients, which is very upsetting, considering they’re in the customer service industry.the mental health industry and the physical health industry.

Shima's TRX and intervals classes and Ghazal's and Rita’s Hot Yoga classes provide a diverse and enriching fitness experience that's hard to beat. What sets Shima apart is her exceptional patience in correcting attendees' positions during exercises, enhancing the effectiveness of the workouts. It's this level of personalized guidance that makes Movati a worthwhile fitness destination. Expérience négative: Be careful, I haven't been able to close my subscription for 6 months. They keep telling me it's closed, but then I get calls from collections for non-payment of the subscription. I joined this gym for the childcare facility. When I got the subscription, I specifically asked about the childcare and said I joined just for that. They scheduled an appointment with their representative, but I couldn't make it due to my kids being sick. I met with the representative three weeks later, and it went well. However, the next day, they called me and said they were closing the childcare facility. I decided to cancel the subscription because I can't go to the gym with a small child. This nonsense has been going on for 6 months, and I'm exhausted, but I won't give up!

Was told over the phone that I need to come in person to cancel and when I came in, I was told by Zack at the front desk that I need to wait 50 minutes for a sales rep/supervisor to become available. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and was told that there was absolutely no one available to assist. Was not advised over the phone to first make an appt. They are easy to work with when you want to sign up and make it difficult for you when you want to pause/cancel. Complete waste of my time.

Expérience fantastique: Movati Richmond Hill is an excellent place if you like group classes. It has a variety of classes for each person's taste and goals. One of my favorite classes is the TRX class with Shima. I can't say enough about the incredible experience I've had. Shima is not just a trainer; she is a true fitness enthusiast and an expert in TRX training. From the moment the class started, she demonstrated an unparalleled level of professionalism and dedication. She makes every session challenging and enjoyable. her knowledge of TRX exercises and her ability to create diverse routines kept me engaged and motivated throughout our classes. She has a unique talent for pushing you to your limits while ensuring your safety and well-being. I always left our classes feeling accomplished and energized, ready to take on new challenges. Beyond the physical aspect, she is a great communicator and motivator. In addition, her Movati Interval classes are excellent as well. I hope Movati considers adding more classes with her at 6:45 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. on weekdays so that everyone can enjoy her class.

Expérience négative: This gym used to be great back in 2019/2020 but the management is now TERRIBLE. Not only is it inanely busy but the management does not care about you. The guys at the front desk were talking with their backs faced me when I came in. It also looks like they are all kids working so that explains why they are unprofessional. Not to mention the personal trainers and sales team at this gym are terrible as well. Do not waste your money.

Expérience négative: This was my initial experience with Movati Athletic in Richmond Hill, 17th attempts to reach out someone over the phone, on the 18th attempt someone picked up the phone and hang up after a loud laugh, 5 more attempts without any luck, on the 24th attempt someone finally picked up the phone. The Movati representative on the phone did not know the answer to my question or volunteer to ask someone senior to him for help. I suggested that he ask his manager and call me back. FYI, I did provide my mobile number. Can you guess what happen next? Yes , I am still waiting for the call. Shame on you, despite the terrible service you provide to the consumer you still managed to be successful. Unfortunately, mediocrity become acceptable by our society and nobody cares. Expérience négative: Buyer beware.....This establishment is all about pressured selling and illegal contract. Do not sign or accept anything when you go there. Get a print out of their contract, take it home, read it, then if you are happy sign and enjoy your membership. But their pumped up sales force is to get you sign their contract and lock you in for a long term by providing false information. This is how this establishment makes money. I was told you can give one month notice and cancel anytime, but later found out they got my signature for a committed long term contract.
