Expérience négative: What happened in November 20-25 2024 was not an upgrade and improvement. It was a downgrade! New treadmills have not a grip handle for hands and they cause shoulder drooping and neck pain, especially for individuals of medium to tall height. Also, we expect the gym to provide us with maximum training opportunities 24/7, not to be the first to close or reduce its hours on every occasion. The number of mirrors on the walls and the space available for stretching exercises are very limited. Additionally, some individuals sit around in the locker area, chatting or using their phones while staring at you and your belongings. This poses a security risk as it allows people to see what items you place in your locker. Since others have mentioned this issue in their reviews, I won’t dwell on it further, but the problem of people staring still exists, regardless of whether you’re a man or a woman. They openly or subtly watch you, even when you’re on the massage chairs. Perhaps it’s necessary to place partitions or barriers between chairs and in different areas to prevent this staring behavior. A large number of people (almost over 90%) do not clean (wipe) the equipment after use and look surprised at those who actually do. In the restroom and the urinal area, some people come with their friends, posing in front of the mirror and taking photos or videos, disregarding your privacy. Right in front of the gym is a gathering spot for homeless individuals who keep an eye on your car. They often walk between vehicles, looking for an open window or unlocked door to steal items from inside. The large ceiling fans in the gym run at maximum speed even on cold days, and if you sweat, they can cause you to catch a cold. Despite having so many TVs, not a single program is worth watching during cardio workouts. Subtitles are off, the volume is at zero, and the channel selection has been done carelessly. Thank you.

Expérience positive: I’ve been coming to this gym 4-6 a week for almost 9 months. It took time to get comfy and figure out the hours and days that were the slowest just for my comfort levels. I chose this gym not only because it’s open 24 hours but mostly because of the yellow area in the back that provided a more secluded quiet area that had various machines that could provide a full body work out. As a woman just doing lighter work outs it became my comfort zone to figure out machines and be more confident lifting weights. Since the new renovations, that area has completely changed and is no longer that area for me. I’m sure other women with some gym anxiety are sad to see the area completely change too, it’s now just become another area for all the men that heavy lift. Now it’s time to relearn the gym and attempt getting comfortable working out in the public busier area. Considering getting a membership elsewhere that feels less crowded. Staff is great always friendly, the gym is nice, just disappointed that the main reason I chose this gym is the yellow area and now it feels gone.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been coming to Planet Fitness with my younger brother for a while now, and I’m impressed by how much it stands out compared to other locations like the ones in Newton and New West. First off, the gym is always spotless, which makes such a difference. I’ve been to other Planet Fitness gyms, and honestly, this one is way cleaner, nothing feels crowded or unkempt. They’ve also added a lot of new equipment lately, which is a huge plus. The new machines are great and give me more options to mix up my workouts, but there is always room for more equipment. That said, I’m loving the updates so far. On top of all that, the staff here is amazing. Sameer, Satty, and Enrico are such good people—they’re always super welcoming and make sure everyone feels comfortable, no matter what level they’re at. It’s clear they put a lot of effort into making this gym a positive space, and it shows. Overall, I’m really happy with the changes and I look forward to going to the gym everyday. Keep it up!

Expérience négative: $21.00 for a 1-time drop-in to planet fitness. AYFKM!! Its experiences like this that keeps customers away. Instead of charging a more reasonable amount and accommodating walkins, and potentially gaining a customer, you just lost a customer.

Expérience positive: The gym has a large cardio section with plenty of treadmills, bikes, and other equipment, which is great for those focused on cardio workouts. However, the space for strength training and stretching is quite limited. There’s only one section with machines for strength training, and it’s so compact that it feels overcrowded most of the time. It can be frustrating to wait for equipment or find a spot to stretch. While the cardio facilities are well-organized, the gym could definitely improve by allocating more space for strength and flexibility exercises.

Expérience négative: Hey So I am a regular payer to club membership. My wallet got lost and my credit card was chrarged of fraud so my bank closed the credit card. I forgot to update that with you guys. Due to Canada wide strike I received my card late. I have updated the card details now but there was a late fees charged on my account which I wanted them to waive As Canada post strike is going onn I had no credit card with me on hand. Staff and mangers are so rude despite helping me they were rude and treated me like i don’t pay membership on time. Seeing my record I pay my membership on time Now you are loosing on a Customer just because the club wanted to save the 15$. If they were polite and understand my situation (even if talked nicely to me). I have cleared all my dues. But the way I was treated is not nice and I am not recommending this gym to anyone Canada post strike is going onn nation wide Isn’t it an exception. One of the employee told me that they do waive late fees. You loose a business just because manger doesn’t know how to talk nicely and handle the situation. I have paid it i would have remained with them if they could talk nicely Very rude staff working

Expérience positive: The gym itself is ok.. but the people who work out there really have to learn some BOUNDARIES. Idk how PF can mitigate this, but SOME people really need to STOP staring, LEARN PERSONAL SPACE and to just WAIT til a space frees up. This is Canada for crying out loud!!

Expérience négative: UNPROFESSIONAL behaviour by JOHN I can't imagine how a big chain like planet fitness still have a staff member like John working for them after numerous amount of complaints about him. You can literally search his name in reviews and see yourself. He is so rude, negative customer service skills and behaves like he owns the guests walking in to the gym. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I walked into the gym with such a positive vibe and left with such a terrible experience and it ruined my whole day. Will never ever suggest anyone signing up at this location until JOHN is working here or unless he works on his attitude.

I have been coming to this gym from 2 years and start coming in morning and the guy name John talked to me so rudely and so disrespectfully. If this guy wants regular members then please teach the management and employees some respect and how to deal with customers and Manager is also so unresponsive and don’t listen anything related employees. Then whom should we address this issue too.

Expérience négative: Staff is so rude and don’t even know how to deal with members. I asked John to sign me up for massage chair and he talked to me so rude and said are you even a black card member (which I am), he was so rude so i left the gym and didn’t wanted to use it because of his behaviour. I talked to the club manager today and she is so supportive for the john guy and can’t even listen any word related to him. Like what is going on with this behaviour and their staff. My so many friends come here and i won’t recommend this one to anyone.

Expérience négative: This is the only Planet Fitness club I wouldn’t recommend. Women often feel uncomfortable due to being stared at, and the loud music from large personal speakers can be quite jarring.

You can go anytime of the day or night 24 hours 7 days a week! & the best part is … if you get the the upgrade you can have the perks of using there tanning beds or stand up tanning & also there massage beds are amazing ! Expérience négative: At this Gym you walk out with Depression and shock instead of good energy and feeling happy , I came to this location one day ago to try it out so I can sign up since it’s 24 hour Gym And I was shocked ,, Men are pausing to stair and only stair at any woman even at Rat that Wears lipstick with full swimming suit , AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STRETCHING AREA ? WHY IS IT EXTREMELY SMALL THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE GYM AND ITS>>> so crowded they come and stand right front of you will see like 6 people covering the mirror and they’re Not even stretching just wasting time ! Plus the smell never smelled any bad smell at the gym like this one before there is a found deodorant,If religiously you can’t wear it don’t come to the gym and bother other people please it’s disgusting and like so many of them stinky walking by , In the shower there is no space to even place to put your shampoo anywhere The designer of this Gym needs to reconsider his work they have so many space to make women feel more comfortable there yet they think they don’t I usually don’t make reviews but I had to for this one because it’s just too much the management should act fast and fix those mistakes

Expérience négative: Great experience but there should be at least a weighing machine for members to measure the weight changes in there body. Based on the reply to my review above I asked the planet fitness local club manager about the weighing machine and the response I got from his was, it’s a judgement free zone and if you still want it, you can buy it yourself from Amazon. Well, it’s seems like a perfect example of pathetic service

Expérience négative: Me and my brother were working out in gym and lady with blonde hair came to us “Isabel” and said you cannot use pair of dumbbells. That was weird policy. Even gym was not busy at that time.

Expérience négative: Worst gym. Tanning bed broken again, standup has 4 dead bulbs for over a week, there is 3-1 people to equipment ration here at most points. Little to no etiquette, prepare to be the only one wiping down machines. Groups of people hurtled around machines and weights to hang out instead of actually work out. This place is a zoo anytime after 8am til 11pm. The staff are great I will say, personable friendly and the morning team is very clean and on top of everything. Night time is more of a hangout but that’s typical. Overall this gym is an absolute zoo.

Expérience négative: This is the most disgusting planet fitness I’ve ever stepped foot in. I dont think anything has ever been cleaned, went to use the tanning bed and I can’t believe they are running a business like this this has never been cleaned, there’s so much hair in there, it’s disgusting

Expérience négative: The staff is too much rude. I visited the gym on 25th July 2024 with a guest as I am a black card member. So there are two girls at the reception area they denied the guest to use services in the gym and they are also showing the attitude. I am visiting the gym since a year ago. Too much bad experience.

Expérience négative: Always packed with people, every machine has a group of 2 to 3 people blocking the equipment, dumbbells are hardly ever available. This gym has mostly cardio related machines which are only about 50% max utilized. Main gym area is only 20% of space and 100 people working out.

Expérience négative: A lot of people do not wipe the equipments after use. It's disgusting. The staff need to go around the gym regularly and remind members to wipe after use. They also need to do something about the smell in the gym. Everytime I come here it smells like BO. Sometimes the odour is so bad that I get a headache and couldn't continue working out. The facility needs to have a rule about good hygiene. Not a lot of weight equipments, it's hard to workout especially when it's crowded. Most of the staff are friendly.

Expérience négative: was visiting surrey from winnipeg the difference between both environments is VERY noticeable especially when talking about the cleanliness of the established and this is not targeted at staff because we all see the staff clean while we workout throughout the day but they should also be enforcing this is to EVERYONE ELSE who uses the gym (because clearly people don’t read the signs) PLEASE WIPE DOWN THE MACHINES AFTER USING THEM. It’s not that hard, and it takes 2 seconds out of your day to stop preventing germs and viruses from going around Clearly some Surrey members don’t care, there were a few people i noticed wiping the machine down. either way, was disappointed after seeing what the pandemic had showed us when it comes to keeping everyone around us safe.

Expérience négative: I had to cancel my membership with them due to the few bad reasons . Firstly none of the staff is cooperative with their customers. Secondly the theft problem may be they only let thieves their gym membership. Thirdly not even the manager is polite towards you regarding any issue in the gym.

Expérience négative: Just a suggestion, I know gym have some policies that we cannot hang our jacket somewhere near by our workout areas. So just suggestion there should some small racks by workout where we can place the jackets safely as everyone’s body reacts differently to the temperature. Sometimes we need to remove the jackets and put them back on and it seems stupid to me going everytime to the lockers to get and put the jacket back. All the time it’s hard to hang jacket to the waist as well.As their is limited no. Of cable machines for the workout and if leave or place someone else comes and occupy the spot and we are standing like clowns to wait for the turn again. Something that need to be considered at this gym.

Expérience positive: The facility boasts extensive cardio equipment but can become crowded during peak hours. There's plenty of parking, which is a plus. My only reason for giving this place a 4 out of 5 stars is that some patrons fail to clean the equipment after use. On the bright side, the staff is always welcoming, with nice smiles, and greets you warmly!

Expérience négative: Newton, Surrey Planet Fitness - so many people violate the rule of - "Do not taking pictures and selfies in the changing room". Management has been notified repeatedly and ignores the problem. I have recently witnessed an argument ( almost lead to a physical fight ) between the person who took selfie and a guy who came out from the shower in his underwear. I wish Management take some actions and put up more signs where the mirrors are placed.

Expérience négative: I don’t believe they even deserve 1 star. Here are my reasons: I have always been a fitness freak and sometimes I think you need gym to connect with your mind and body as well. First reason I noticed here is the volume of music is very loud which is very annoying. Second reason as you’re working out, you sweat but they won’t turn off the fans.Due to this I got sick couple of times. I asked them to atleast turn off the fan just above me, the guy at the front desk told me there is no control or switch to turn off. When I asked him the email of management to raise this issue, then within few mins the fan was turned off. 3rd reason this place is over crowded and very chaotic. 4th reason during early morning hours front desk staff is never at the front desk. If you want to use the massage chair or bed you have to look for them in the gym and ask them to come and help you at the front desk. And then they will say “oh where is my colleague”. This has happened to me multiple times. I finally cancelled my membership with them. UPDATE: After cancelling my membership from planet fitness , I joined Guildford recreation centre and it’s amazing. It was my best decision to cancel membership with you guys. And the response I got from the management or owner is awful. Just want to say to the management of Planet fitness- keep up this attitude .Many more cancellations are on the way!

Expérience positive: I was here around 5:30pm, and during 3 sets ona a single machine, there were 5 different groups of members walking around with no mask on from one end of the gym to the other, machine to change room. 4 staff behind the desk, but zero mask enforcement. Even if we’re all vaccinated, it’s still flu season. No one wants to catch a fever and miss work.

Expérience négative: Sameer at the front desk was incredibly unprofessional. I was in the middle of cancelling my membership with him and a group of his friends walked in so he began conversing with them in another language, and I interrupted after a few minutes and asked him to finish up with me as I had somewhere else to be, but he ignored me and continued laughing with his friends. I had to wave another associate over. Not the type of person you want as the face of your establishment.

Expérience fantastique: I highly recommend planet fitness which has amazing facilities, top equipment’s and great environment. PF has excellent staff with good service. The one I. like most is as a PF member they provide free fitness training. I highly recommend the trainer Enrico he is best trainer because he is an excellent teacher , caring , knowledgeable and sincere person. He consistently explains why we are doing and what we are doing.He is always pleasant while reminding me to maintain correct body position. Always says “breath in and breath out “. He always pushes hard to get our fitness goal with a balanced approach . He is such a motivating person and always says “you can do it, don’t give up”. I have seen changes in me within a short period of time. I am thankful to him because I haven’t seen such wonderful trainer in my life . I thank planet fitness for this amazing trainer Enrico. Enrico is the best!

Expérience négative: Planet fitness don't provide option to cancel membership, you have to visit gym any how if you want to cancel it also provide them valid reason too. Any-case person is busy and don’t have time for gym. They cant opt the option of cancellation as one of their receptionist told me provide us a valid reason to cancel it, like seriously this is not enough that I am paying for gym where I don’t able to go due to my busy schedule. Even they are not going to cancel my membership as 1st of dec they are going to charge and today it’s 30th nov. They need 7 days to cancel. Like you guys are really don't mention on the first day of ur cancellation rules. One of my friend give me a free trial period to check that am able to go or not. And these guys are charge me for nothing I use of their services. Really bad services of planet fitness

Expérience négative: My experience with planet fitness was worst. I was told I would receive a call from the manager 2 weeks and till date am waiting for the call. Whenever you will call to talk to manager they will say she is in a meeting (no idea how on earth she is always attending a meeting). Called about my health situation and said can't visit in person to cancel the subscription, yet they didn't cooperate. Their annual subscription or monthly subscription could not be cancelled if you don't visit them (even if you say you have met with an accident or out for some family emergency) Staff aren't cooperative at all. If possible would have give negative rating.

Expérience négative: I'm giving less stars Because so many issues. Lots of times I've complained about people not cleaning machines, it's nasty and I see 2-5 people every time. When you complain they say they will let management know, that's it. Lay down tanning bed, face light burnt out for a year, they told me just lay backwards, what's the point of having a face tanner if you can't fix.. Massage bed breaks lots.. Crowded small gym, people stand and stare waiting for you to finish. Others on equipment sit on their phones way more then working out and we have to wait for the Facebook uploads lol. Also very smelly, not sure why some don't use deodorant! They need better air circulation. And maybe stickers on every machine to remind people to clean them, but I bet they still won't! Lots of disrespectful people.

Expérience fantastique: This location is amazing, so clean and staff are always so friendly. Their variety of equipment is exactly what I need. I try to workout at night because then the gym is rather empty, which I prefer because I am shy sometimes. I will note that parking can be difficult at times, but that's out of their control and does not affect the experience you will have once you get into the gym. I absolutely love being a Black Card member because for $25 a month, the amenities included are incredible. Tanning, hydromassage, clean showers, private locker rooms and access to some programs. Also, if you're like me and forget to bring a drink with you, you get 50% off select drinks with your Black Card membership.

Expérience positive: I'm actually a member of that gym in King george surrey. Frankly, the staff is amazing. The only downside is that people come to the gym to socialize, not to work out. Most of them are on their phone doing Instagram pictures texting , working in groups of 3 ,4 people, and you don't have access to the machine have to wait , and even some taking rest time for 15 minutes . A little message to the management you guys need to start selling deodorant in that gym cause sometimes you can't even breathe it stinks, sanitizer are given to clean equipment but some fellow don't even know how to clean properly they spray the seat without wiping it properly it sound like this place is becoming a zoo too many people less equipment . The management needs to find a better way to solve those issues .

Expérience négative: The staff are very kind and monthly cost to use this gym is inexpensive, for that I give 2 stars. However the general etiquette of the gym goers here is poor. Constant crowding, leaving plates on machines and carelessness. The smell of this gym is often unbearable to the point I cut my workout short. Not sure how people have such a lack of social awareness to not know they stink. Not a lot of negativity to say about the gym itself but rather the ones that use it.

Expérience positive: I like the gym. Employees are friendly and gym is clean. However, deodorant should be mandatory. This is the only gym I have ever been to where the majority of people smell absolutely rancid. Makes it hard to enjoy my workout and sometimes I have to hold my breath.

He helped me make a payment plan & let me use the gym till all payments were made, even takings a month off the payment. He was really kind, extremely helpful, and very fast.

Expérience négative: I have been trying to cancel my membership for weeks now with no help from staff. Refusal to cancel my membership is getting ridiculous. Before this I loved going to PF, clean location, friendly staff. Although there is a huge presence of males who stare at the girls during workouts and won't share machines. They have this weird group of around 12 guys who take turns doing the machines and will not let anyone else use them. Usually the pull weight machines and the dumbbells. Incredibly difficult as a girl to lift weights at this gym because of this. Anyways. I moved a few weeks ago and have tried to cancel my membership several times. Sent two letters through mail: no response. Emailed five times: no response. Starting to wonder how one can cancel a membership. I do not live anywhere close to a PF and cannot go in person to cancel. They make it ridiculously difficult and don't consider people's living situations (EG: MOVING!!) Last time I moved I had to cancel club16 and I sent one simple email and they happily did it for me. Because of this cancellation process I will literally never sign up for PF again. TOO MUCH HASSEL. I cannot get in contact with a single person who can help me and when I call the staff literally refuses to help cancel. Its awful service for someone who has moved far away. I will continue to try to reach out to PF support but I may have to cancel through my bank now. Would give zero stars if I could based on this experience alone.

Expérience négative: It's a good gym for beginners and intermediate gym goers with decent equipment and atmosphere, however the biggest turn off from this gym is the summer event where high-school kids can come in for free to workout. Those kids get to go for free while the rest of us pay monthly fees and the yearly fee, and the kids aren't being told to follow proper gym etiquette. The people who work there stay behind the counter and don't do much of anything if management isn't there to tell them what to do, which often leaves paper towels low for usage or not at all, cleaner bottles empty, equipment left on the ground, and people sitting on machines on their phones not working out and getting in the of others who try to get in and get out. But it's the cheapest gym on the market so you get what you pay for.

Expérience négative: It’s a clean place yes…. Attention to details no…. Like why do we not have subtitles on the TVs anymore? They were there last week…..I’m not a lip reader. And when 3 staff are behind the counter just hanging out, look up….. also just out of curiosity where did those sweet grape candies go, sure miss them, a nice little perk for members. I’ve now changed my review to a one….you told me to contact the manger and customer service about my concerns, well I did, got a lot of lip service… and telling me theTV problem is Telus fault, plus Planet Fitness has no control over the TV’s and how they work. But the best one yet is when my friend and I were at the Gym Sept. 8 around 5:10 after we did our usual treadmill we decided to use the chairs and have a 10 min massage…..as we’re signing in we were told one chair was busy even though no time was marked down, I was confused so asked why? WAIT FOR IT…… an employee was using the chair and it would be another 4 minutes. I was gobsmacked….. pull the damned plug get out of the chair and maybe do some work around the gym, we waited until he came strutting out, don’t know his name but he is Asian probably around 30, the other fellow was a lot younger. Can’t give a name as I never saw a name tag. Lynda

Expérience négative: Too many treadmills not enough benches and cable machines. More weights are needed. Ventilation is very poor as compared to other gyms and even other planet fitness locations. You feel like suffocating to death when you're there even in the evenings and specially when it's all filled up. No ACs!

Expérience positive: Good gym I have the Black card pass so I can go to any locations. This particular location is clean and staff are friendly. The location isn't big compare to the newton one but is closer for me. I'd suggest a incline chest press machine since they only have 2 machines press.
