Expérience fantastique: Love the facility. Pool with different depths from kids to 5M. Diving boards of height 3,5,7&10M. Lots of life guards and classes are also available.

Expérience fantastique: The only pool we can actually enjoy a couple hours of swimming. Love the lazy river and the slides. All the other pools in the surrey/langley area turn my kid's lips blue and we last maybe 30 mins - sometimes less. Highly recommend.

Expérience négative: Great friendly staff, nice clean place. Love it except for one terrifying fact, the water in the kids pool is extra salty, making me think that its a salt water swimming pool! Its like the ocean water on the lips, and then someone, overhead me comment about that to my wife and said that its regular chorine pool!!! I though it was a prank because liquid that salty thats not ocean water could only be found in the urinal.. so i decided to verify with stuff and they told me its regular water, not salt water pool!!!! And i felt like half of surrey kids had pissed in my mouth and was extreamply hard to get that tast out no matter how much i wased my mouth.. So im not sure if we should come back for more sweeming lessons ..even though the lessons where great.. but im not sure if its safe to sweem in worm urine pool with my kids ..

Expérience positive: I use the pool on weekends, to swim lengths.I need to be very aware of what time the swim clubs are NOT THERE because they take up most of the pool. I went one weekday evening and there were only 2 swim lanes open to the public - all other lanes were being used by the swim clubs. I don’t understand why the South Surrey indoor pool is not fully open. I was told 3 years ago it was due to a shortage of lifeguards but they have had enough time to build their staff. It’s incredibly frustrating that Surrey does not recognize the value of physical exercise and its connection to well-being.

Expérience fantastique: 5 STARS This aquatic center has quickly become our top choice for kids. The facility is exceptionally well-designed, with bright natural light reflecting off the pool, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The air quality is great, with proper ventilation even in the hot tub area. Safety is clearly a priority, as the lifeguards are attentive and the first aid room is conveniently located next to the pool. The changing rooms offer ample privacy, and it’s rarely crowded. The indoor temperature is perfectly regulated, ensuring you don’t feel cold after leaving the water. The upbeat music adds to the overall pleasant vibe, and the staff is incredibly polite and helpful. We’re thrilled to have found this gem and will definitely be returning. In comparison to other highly-rated centers we’ve visited, this one stands out. Others felt overcrowded, with poor air quality and disorganized changing rooms lacking privacy, which made for a much less enjoyable experience.

Expérience positive: Great pool. I would give it 5 stars, but it's always pretty crowded there.

Expérience positive: Great potential for this facility, however, swim clubs in the morning is a concern. During the morning, swim clubs takes up most of the swim lanes. If you just want to swim in the morning, imagine canned sardines, because that's how you would feel. For the pool staff, please at least ensure 4 lanes for public swimmers, Walking, Slow, Medium, Fast. For certain mornings, there are as little as 2 lanes and people run into each other. That is very dangerous.

Expérience négative: I went here with my 14 year old and my 6 year old son to workout. I was told that I cannot have my 6 year old around the fitness area and was asked to leave him in the lobby. What parent will leave a 6 year old kid in the lobby. Please provide a childcare area so lone parents with small kids can workout without any issues.

Expérience fantastique: The most awesome and biggest and cleanest swimming pool in Surrey. We love to go and swim there

SSC 1 year ago

Expérience négative: I do like this pool but I have concerns given recent issues. Aug 31, 2024 an alleged assault involving a youth. Aug 2, 2024 an alleged sexual assault. And my grandchild, who was sitting right beside me, said an old man grabbed their hand. Staff seem to be extra vigilant about the "arm's reach" rule but what's being done to protect the public from crimes like these?

Expérience négative: My son has been coming to this facility for swimming classes for almost 2 weeks now. Today we encountered a clerk with initial LR who wont let us in and treated us at a very rude way. We feel humiliated in front of other guest and people around that we are not allowed to come in as we are an hour ahead of my sons swimming class. She was very loud almost to yelling in front of my two young kids which is unacceptable. We are actually willing to pay but she didn't give us any option. She Clearly state that we are not allowed to come in. I answered back is there any issue as we are willing to pay anyway and end up paying in the end. She acted very bossy, unprofessional and not apologetic nor kind to people that comes in. We feel unwelcomed and disheartened with what happened and we cannot slip it through without making a review.

Expérience positive: Such an amazing facility with the nicest lifeguards ever! The one thing is maybe better to move the lane dividers after the partrons are done swimming! Totally recognize that this extends the lifegaurds time in the pool and it gets late, but well worth it for safety!

Expérience positive: No joke, I've been sick twice from this pool. Once with a viral rash, the other time with a 3 week flu. I used to swim 6x/week at 2 different pools when I was on swim team and never got sick from a pool in my life until this one. My mom's friends stopped bringing their kids here because one got a fungal or viral rash and the other two kept getting sick after coming here. Not sure how clean the water is or if the water is even cold enough. I tried the south Surrey indoor pool and it's not as much of a vibe but it feels 10x cleaner and cooler than this pool. So I'm conflicted and idk if I should risk Grandview pool again. I still wanna swim, though.

My friends and I drove all the way out from Chilliwack a few weeks back and we were blessed by the incredible staff and pool crew whom opened up the diving boards for us during our time there! Hope we entertained everyone a little bit! Thank you again and god bless for the memories ☀️

Expérience négative: NEVER ask front desk for help with cancelling the swimming program because they will cancel your summer camp that you didn't ask for and will hear comments like "Did you register your child into lot of program?" . Lesson and learn: DO IT YOURSELF. Now, as we are struggling to find ourselves with summer program.

Expérience négative: I would like to recommend everyone not to take your children under 7 years old to be there for learning swimming, because they have changed “arms reach rules about children in swimming pool “ into “one arm reach” only and will frequently warn any parents who were two arms away from their children. If the parents’ attitude are not listening, they would further do a child protection report to Ministry of Children and Family Development (“MCFD”) to investigate your parenting models and put your children relationship into a risk of separation I had received two serious household assessments on May 16th, 2024 and July 8th, 2023 from MCFD all about this Grandview Heights Aquatic Center activities. Even though it has been determined their reports were unsubstantiated and there were not any “alleged Physical Harm/Likelihood and Neglect with Physical harm of my children” at all. Their stupid pool managers still believe they are going to call confidentially to MCFD in the future if their blind safeguards see me swinging their again

Expérience positive: great place to get relaxed, lots of different types of pools to play in. But alway wash your body after swimming in the donut pool because I always get my skin itchy probably because too many kid pee in there the lifeguard is so nice!!! Last time I broke my toenail (it was still attached) and I was jumping in to the pool and my toenail felt weird so I took a look and the nail was almost offso I walked to the lifeguard office and the lifeguard filled a whole form just for that and he gave me a bandage

Expérience fantastique: I love this pool. Nice variety of shallow facilities, with different depths and spaces. The size of the hot tub section is also nice. The changing spaces are also great for when I am changing with my kids.

Expérience négative: My friend and I went to go jump off the platforms because we were told they were open 730-930pm and they were not available at all. Also 4 of the lifeguards I asked had no clue when it would open but it’s their job. Would’ve been great if the platforms were open

Expérience négative: Not a parent friendly gym :( Brought my 2 month old with her car seat and attempted to work out placing her safely in the corner next to me. However I was old she had to be 13 to be in the facility. Lady was extremely nice about it however it was very disappointing as every other gym I have been too has allowed new mothers to bring their newborn.

Expérience positive: Beautiful pool... I prefer morning , but they have alot of swim meets during the week. Then aquafit starts at 8:15, so limited time to do walking I prefer the shallow walking. Otherwise the hot tub is great. The surely do alot of maintenance as well, which causes alot of closures.

Expérience négative: I’m compelled to share an unsettling experience from last December at the Grandview Pool, a narrative I'm only now bringing to light due to some recent, similarly disturbing encounters with apparent racism in the locality(there are indeed many racist elderly people in the South Surrey/White Rock area). Last December, my children were prohibited from entering the pool for their swimming lessons by a middle-aged lady, identifiable by her long hair and glasses, under the pretext that children could only enter 15 minutes prior to their lessons. She insisted that 15 minutes was sufficient time for changing. However, the family change room is invariably bustling during after-school hours, necessitating a wait in line since I accompany both a boy and a girl and therefore must utilize the family change room. To avoid tardiness, we usually arrive approximately 20 minutes early to prepare the children unhurriedly. That day, despite our routine early arrival, we were barred entry until the stipulated 15-minute mark. Aggravatingly, upon finally gaining entry and conversing with other parents, it emerged that many had arrived earlier than us without issue, and none had been apprised of this 15-minute rule, hinting at an inconsistent, potentially discriminatory application of the policy. Subsequent to this episode, I reached out to the City of Surrey regarding the seemingly arbitrary 15-minute rule and was informed that children were, in fact, permitted entry 45 minutes prior to their lessons. This discrepancy between the actual policy and the actions of the staff at Grandview Pool is concerning, prompting questions regarding why such discriminatory behavior is tolerated. The supervisory staff at this facility must prioritize providing their team with comprehensive training regarding pool rules and customer service attitudes to prevent such disconcerting incidents in the future.

Expérience fantastique: Huge fitness center with very clean swimming pools.

Rob S 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: The water seems slightly saline, which is nicer on the eyes than fresh water, and the round "river" in the middle is quite fun for the kids. There's a waterslide, but note that kids need to be min. 48" tall and min. age 7 to go down, though. You can also bring your own lock for the lockers.

Expérience négative: Shower stalls and general areas need more wash down cleaning. There is a great deal of hair in particular in the shower stalls. Pretty disgusting.

Expérience fantastique: I was very impressed by the architecture, especially the inside, how you are greeted by the family change rooms. They have an open concept right through to the pools making it feel very safe and lively! So many good things to say about our experience trying out this pool for the first time. We are only tourists there but I'm sure we'll be back when we travel to the area again.

Expérience positive: Great facility. Gym, pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room are all really nice. Feels like you’ve just been at a spa when you take full advantage. Only complaint is that it’s busy in the gym, adult hot tub and sauna.

Expérience fantastique: Nice, new, clean facilities. Enjoy the aquafit classes, hot tubs, slide, or gym area. Lazy river enjoyed by many, overall great atmosphere.

Jim Brown 2 years ago

Expérience négative: They never answer their phone. It’s frustrating as a parent who lives in the area and need to inquire about the facility. They need to figure a system out where they can answer questions over the phone and not expect the their website to be their only source of communication and I information. Do better.

Expérience négative: Small change rooms compare to how many people there can be. Kids screaming everywhere even at change room. It’s almost like this is the pool culture here. It’s definitely the loudest pool I’ve been to.

Expérience positive: It's a pool. It's big. It's only 15$ for my family of 4 to drop in. It's chlorinated. I enjoy going here, the evening after 7pm are the quietest time I've found. Still lots of people but not as packed.

Expérience positive: Great place to take the kids or even go alone. They have many diving boards also a slide for toddlers and kids to adults also hot tubs one for adults and one for everyone. Many options for whatever your needs are.. Workout gym is upstairs and a small cafe to cater to many people for whatever needs they may have

Laura Ha 2 years ago

Expérience négative: Lanes are too crowded, no room for public swimming due to regular swim classes/swim clubs! Kids were ignoring the rules and using the hot tubs in the back, lifeguards did not discipline kids who are running around in the adult hot tub area, overall very stressful to be there. Wonder if fitness swimmers can ever use this pool. Please keep in mind this was a taxpayer funded facility and should serve all people of Surrey, which is clearly failed!

Expérience négative: The pools themselves are nice. Clean inside and a good variety. BUT the lifeguard staff are some of the rudest and ignorant individuals I have encountered in a very long time. Any questions you have regarding the facility are met with condescending and over sarcastic answers. The lifegaurds do not stop teenagers from being aggressive and horse playing in the wirl pool or kiddie pool, leaving small kids and my baby included to get hurt or knocked around. In the 7 months we have been going to this pool, we have yet to have a positive experience. On top of the disrespect from the employees, the change rooms are quite dirty, especially if you go after 3pm. The "family" koala change rooms are not family rooms, they are now called transition rooms for those in transitional periods. Now that leave NO WHERE for families with small children and babies to change them and keep them close so you yourself can get changed. We have stood outside the rooms for over 45 minutes waiting for couples, teenagers, or elderly people to finish when there are full change rooms for single people to use. There is no where else for you to put a baby down besides the outside benches and the transition rooms (where the koala change stations are). A koala change room is put in place for people with children to use, not adults by themselves. I am so disappointed with the treatment my family has been given and the experience this pool gives to families.

Expérience fantastique: We first investigated this centre during the pandemic, but it was impossible to get access because it had to be booked. Access to swim lessons is a challenge if you’re not quick to book as they open up, but we now use this place for our recreational swim (not lessons). It’s very family-friendly, clean, and safe. My kids love coming here and swimming for hours. The monthly membership for youth is very reasonable, about $22/month per child of you do the annual one..totally worth it! Staff are super helpful. What sets this facility apart is that even when swimming lessons are going on, there is always free swim areas that can be used. When they are open, there is always free swim areas and no times are blocked off. This was what was important for us!

Brittany Murdoch 2 years ago

Expérience fantastique: Kids pools were very warm! Hot tub for everyone was also a good hot temp! There’s also a adult hot tub in the very corner and it was a nice temp too. The water levels of the kids pools were ranging from toddler size all the way to adult size. So my kiddos get to play easily. It was overall a good experience. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy but still fun!

Expérience négative: Been on hold for 30 minutes currently to talk to a human being, but just keep getting the "sorry, someone will be right with you" message. And can't open the pool schedule because it's corrupt according to their site. Answer your phones once in awhile.

Expérience négative: If you like crowded lanes and limited space due consistent swimming clubs / lessons, then this place is for you. Not to mention it’s expensive (relative to other municipalities) and dirty! I mean, this place has more floaties and chunks than a can Campbell’s Soup. Not many things that I hate, except for this pool and the City of Surrey’s management in general. Barf.

Expérience positive: If it was cleaner it would be 5 stars. Love that you can bring your small children into the shallow pool with a slide and other things they find interesting. Love that the children's pool is connected into the lazy river. Do not love that on some days you can find clumps of human hair and bandaids, stuff like that on top of the lazy river structure or just the sides of pool. Oh even when you try to not look at it, it is still there and you cannot unsee it. If you're like me, you might have a physical reaction to that kind of thing. Things that come from bodies Is gross. If you start thinking about how many bodies are in and out of the pool area and how many "contributions" are being made to the pool every day. I love the layout of this place more then the other pools in the area. So it's really a matter of choices you need to make. It's a matter of how strong your reactions to things are and really swimming is a beautiful thing. Teach your kids to swim!

Expérience fantastique: Hi there this is for you if there was any hesitation that may have crossed your mind.about visiting this pool .well I'm hear to give what I've seen at this place so you can tell your self not too worry about visiting this well designed and beautiful look at aqua center with you and your family or friends. So the architecture of this building made looking from then out side massive with the roof lines of these up side down wooden beams that are gigantic in lenth (the builders must of made them on site cause no way could they have trucked them down the road ) that's only my opinion so don't take that as fact anyhow when you go inside the front doors one would expect by the sheer size of the building the foyer would be massive and uninviting but to the contraire it is big but for a lack of better words cozy inviting all I wanted to do was go there's tables there and sit down and watch the people go by that's a warm it felt there's a coffee shop there right off to the left the front office is off to the right you not even going to try and look for it because it's all right there there's a public washrooms that are wheelchair accessible I didn't go upstairs to the gallery that overlooks the pool and to me the people are in the pool we're having a lot of fun there's a there's a big slide tube slide looks like even I would go down that tube slide anyhow don't hesitate I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself for a swim it was Thanksgiving Day 3:00 in the afternoon when I went in there and there wasn't very many people there the one thing that I found odd was where it's located you would not think there'd be this complex here and also the grounds where the parking lot is also massive but not too massive that you'd have to walk a mile they did good there on every aspect of this facility I like to mention that take a look at the art installation it will make you think there's a bench there I think that you could sit down and contemplate the the artist and his or her work okay take care now Jude

Expérience négative: Went to this pool the other day with a couple of friends and our children... We all had the WORST experience while swimming there. I understand that there are rules and regulations in these type of facilities but the staff (lifeguards on duty) were all incredibly unprofessional, rude and nobody was on the same page with said rules. We were on constant watch as most of the kids were under the age 7 and were constantly reminded that our kids needed to be in arms reach of an adult. Fine. But it was relentless. The slide was open for like 5 minute incriments and the first few slides were a non issue for our children until it was...we were then told the kids could continue to ride the slide if an adult attended also, but the adult could not go down with the child................ Once up and waiting to slide we were advised that our children could not use the slide at all as they were under the age of 7, like WHAT! We witnessed the staff gathering together and discussing their interactions with us (assuming they didn't realize we could see them doing so, it was quite obvious). The diving boards were not open at all while we were visiting... One friend and her kids were told they were open, got the kids all excited, went over and nope... Closed... WHAT! Such a disappointing experience overall. Will not return, do not recommend and will be going elsewhere from now on. Get some friendly staff and get them all on the same page to avoid confusion and upset children.

Expérience fantastique: Wow! This facility definitely deserves 5-stars. The staff were super friendly and helpful over the phone & in-person. The architecture is gorgeous and provides beautiful bright spaces for folks to recreate indoors. The pool deck, change rooms, washrooms and lockers were well maintained and very clean for a public facility and the swimming pool was a blast for kids of all ages. Great diving boards, shallow and deep areas, fun lazy river, fantastic waterslide and the water temperature was great too.

Expérience positive: We've been in the area for a year now and its our first time trying the place it nice fully equipped gym and the pools are massive it doesn't feel crowded when we visit. Now getting a spot for swimming lessons is another story.

Expérience positive: What a super facility! It has it all. The family change rooms are way too small, and often used by one person. The layout is not the greatest, but that's not going to change. Lifeguards spend too much time chatting or flirting as the case may be. It is so busy!!! The pool overall is incredible, it's strengths and weaknesses are the same as everywhere, people, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Expérience positive: Surrey is growing to the point it can outpopulate Vancouver any day. Because of that, it makes sense Surrey should have its own Olympic-sized pool. Full with ten lanes and a 10m tower. However it's more than that. It also has a lot of recreational pools like a lazy river, wave pool and water playground. It also has a unisex change room and a multi-purpose fitness area. Overall an excellent facility. The only thing is that it would not be fair to call it a Natatorium. It's big enough to be one but it has minimal spectator seating. That's a shame because it could be a good host facility for FINA events.

Expérience négative: Don't go for sea otter classes in this center.. Basically lessons are useless.. Trainers are freshers and they read checklist from sheet.. My kid took second set of lessons and still his head doesn't get drenched..To the center, If you cant have proper tutors don't waste our time.

Expérience fantastique: Holy smokes this place is awesome! While visiting this weekend, we stopped by and spent 2 hours swimming with the family. We were all exhausted. It is cleaner than clean, well staffed/lifeguarded, cheap! (Family of 5 cost $18CAD). Within a sprawling open pool area, there’s a self contained water park slide (ages 7+ and >48”), kids splash area, toddler slide, GIANT hot tub, sauna, steam room, Olympic size 3.5’ feet pool for playing, lap pool and 5m depth diving pool with two 3m springboards, and diving platforms at 1, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10m . Built in 2016, it’s a jewel.

Expérience fantastique: We went a couple time. Always had a good time here. The staffs always nice, really good service. The price is reasonable. A lot of lockers, washrooms and changing rooms. They always take care to keep the area clean so quite happy with this place. They're not allowed to take pics inside so no pics inside to show but you can see everything from outside when you drive pass by the place. A lot of parking spot even charging stations for electric cars

Expérience fantastique: The pool is fantastic, with tons of lane swimming time available. The gym area is also top notch with new equipment, lots of space and lots of available power racks so I'm never waiting for equipment to free up.

Expérience négative: My dog urgently needed to do his business outside and they phoned the city of surrey about it. Very embarrassing, disrespectful and nosy. Ever since that has happened, the employees in question: Jennifer and a young gentleman who also work in front with her have been very awkward and unwelcoming. Very unprofessional and makes me very uneasy visiting their facility. I understand having young kids working at front desk but for goodness sake teach them very basic manners, customer service and professionalism first.

Expérience fantastique: Always a fun time at the pool. There's a waterslide for the bigger kids and adults. Fairly big sized hot tub that is always nice to relax in. Decent sized lazy river to float around in. Nice bigger shallow area for the younger kids to also play in. There's 3 or 4 diving boards in the deep deep end and let's not forget the steam and sauna rooms. Change rooms are abundant and there are lockers available.

Expérience négative: I first thought this place was one of the best recreation centers in Surrey but oh was I wrong. This place always has problems every single day. Very high negative atmosphere at times, racist people, nosey dramatic problematic individuals that come here to cause issues and also they cater more to children than adults and give the deepest end of the pool to swim in to children usually while adults have to lane swim and wait for them to finish jumping off diving boards? Then around closing time or with less than an hour left they will let you swim in the deep end. Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. Also both the steam room and suana are usually always awkward to be in and are full of negative people with bad vibes and creepers. This place needs to become alot better in the future. Even the lifeguards who are really nice don't even wanna work there anymore... Shame on them for allowing this to happen at a public gym. 1 star out of 5...

Expérience négative: There are usually only two or three swim lanes for lap swimming and you have to share the lane with a few people. The swim club seems to use the most of the pool and use the rest of the lanes all the time or at least every time I go there. I wish they show how many lanes are available to public on their schedule. The kids section is very busy but kids seem to love the tide pool and the slide. Saunas are nice too. The pool often gets too crowded and it doesn't feel clean. Half the lockers can't be locked because people take the keys and never return them. The front staff are friendly and helpful.
