St. Lawrence Community Recreation Centre: Avis
Expérience négative: Grew up going here, great staff . But there’s no reason anyone should be paying to use any of the services here when it’s already funded by are tax dollars and also there are no new equipment or programs.
Expérience négative: Don’t get a gym membership here. 2 out of the 4 Treadmills has been broken for months. You will be waiting in line for a treadmill only to give up and go home. Also, the heat in the tiny gym will kill you.
Expérience positive: Needs to introduce a recreational or intermediate volleyball drop in. The competitive drop-in level is not accessible for most and the crowd tends to be aggressive if you are not at that level.
Expérience positive: We have only used the pool facilities, changing areas are available to the public daily, which is great. . . However knowing the area there is a lot of clientele with challenging issues which with young children you must be very aware of and be proactive .
Expérience positive: Fun place. Good facility and very friendly staff. Nice place to play badminton. No air conditioning is a tick off for many people though, especially during the summer where it get's boiling hot.
Expérience positive: I have been to a few community centre's in Toronto, came here to use the weight room. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had 8 and 12 lb dumbells - all other gyms I've been to only have 5, 10, 15. Staff are friendly, place is clean, only downside is the AC in the weight room is not working. At 10 am, it wasn't too hot or crowded.
Expérience positive: I am a regular user of the weight / exercise room and there has been an uptick with new membership and there just is not enough equipment to support all the new users. The community centre needs to expand the weight room by adding more equipment in order to accommodate all the new people that are using this space. It’s great for business the new membership, but it’s not practical if people don’t have access to the equipment that they’re paying for.
Expérience positive: St Lawrence Market Community Center is a staple of the community has so much programming that goes on there for basketball to wage to Dallas different stuff truly a gem as a community center in the downtown core of Esplanade
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful community centre to enjoy and meet your neighbors.
Expérience fantastique: water very nice once u get in
Expérience fantastique: Amazing recreational place
Expérience positive: We sometimes use the swimming pool. It is clean and well maintained. It is a little more crowded than other pools in the area. If you are coming with your own car, there is a fee and there are very few parking spots.
Expérience positive: It’s an older community center but it has community feel and the soul of The Esplanade! Just need to fix their heating and cooling system and it’d be five star. The new center at Yonge is also very nice.
Expérience fantastique: 집 앞이라 자주 이용해요. 무료로 이용하는 시간이 다른 곳에 비해 많습니다. 금토일은 수영도 2시간 정도 무료입니다.
Expérience fantastique: Thanks Shaun!
Expérience fantastique: Really friendly staff when I went in for drop ins. Overall clean facility and had a fun time playing volleyball. The drop in sports sell out quite fast so I’d recommend arriving a bit earlier than the scheduled time to ensure you can get a spot as it is first come first serve. Plenty of water fountains and space and seems to be something for everyone.
Expérience positive: - have gone to the weight room in this centre for years [ with one interruption during covid ] and i really like the weight room - BUT THE HEAT & NO AIR CONDITIONING has been a problem FOR MANY YEARS - - - i will try to find out why.
Expérience fantastique: Amazing staff ms.Ivery at reception desk is very kind and helpful.Highly recommend aquafit program with a very energetic, kind professional Instructor Ms. Anna. After two weeks I feel so good and got my energy level back.
Expérience fantastique: Great centre, good facilities.
Expérience fantastique: Go to swim regularly, nice place, friendly staff
Expérience fantastique: Right at the downtown, good indoor space for all types of sports.
Expérience positive: Been playing squash here for a while. Sometimes feels disorganized and dirty (courts are not maintained very well) staff friendliness is mixed
Expérience fantastique: Amazing squash courts. Easy system. Can be booked on telephone. Maximum one week advance booking is allowed. Squash court per person is $9 for drop in. There are also 3 month, 6 month and 12 month membership plans. There’s plenty of green p street parking just outside the center. Swimming pool also looked great.
Expérience fantastique: Friendly staff and fun recreational sports
Expérience négative: Convenient location, close to downtown
Expérience fantastique: This community centre is one of the best maintained recreation buildings run by the City of Toronto. The pool area in particular is always immaculate. The staff clearly take pride in their work!
Expérience fantastique: I went there for pickleball in a Saturday morning. Staff was nice, you can borrow rackets and balls. I'll definitely come back.
Expérience fantastique: Good pickup ball runs on mondays
Expérience fantastique: Good pickup ball runs on mondays
Expérience fantastique: Our spot for Wednesday night volleyball
Expérience fantastique: Great community centre with facilities of swimming pool ♀️ squash and gym. The staff are super helpful with detailed information.
Expérience fantastique: Great community centre and friendly staff.
Expérience fantastique: clean with great people. Awesome pool.
Expérience fantastique: Amazing!
Expérience fantastique: So good to be back at St Lawrence Community Centre. Had my son's first swim lesson with Gabe, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Looking forward to next week!
Expérience fantastique: Amazing!
Expérience fantastique: Tuesday soccer 630, for $4
Expérience positive: A nice spot for Squash - clean facility and friendly staff. Parking can be a hassle, be sure to arrive early.
Expérience positive: Aside from Swimming, there are zero programs for younger kids. Kids under 12 have zero opportunities to play in this “community” centres gymnasium. It’s a great facility, which why it should never get a rating below 3. If you’re a child under 12 or a parent with a child under 12 within the St. Lawrence community, you’ll have to leave the community to use a gymnasium. Which is pitiful. Hopefully their summer programs are more catered to our younger kids, as they’ve spent so much time in this pandemic at home.
Expérience fantastique: Been going here for years with my son for squash, and our kids have loved performing plays with the opera group that they have done yearly. The staff is always kind and helpful, helping to make it the best community centre to visit hands-down!
Expérience négative: PARKING for handicapped is NOT THERE. Very good pool and centre but without parking ... it's not accessable. Bad!
Expérience fantastique: Booked time for a swim. Clean facility, helpful staff, covid precautions taken seriously.
Expérience positive: Perfect community gym, 5 star management, updated machines would be nice, but if you're not into hydraulics your good for the fees !!
Expérience fantastique: I enjoy coming here for a swim!
Expérience positive: Great pool for lane swim!
Expérience fantastique: Great pool!
Expérience négative: Unprofessional people,be kind please!..
Expérience fantastique: Very clean
Expérience fantastique: Amazing staff and I love to play badminton in this place.
Expérience fantastique: Friendly and helpful staff with different options for what is available at the centre.
Expérience positive: Great location with lots of programming. I do wish the locker rooms were updated and it would be nice to see some programming for younger kids that is more than swimming.
Expérience positive: Only used the gym, it's a bit small.
Expérience fantastique: Peaceful
Expérience fantastique: Clean centre
Expérience fantastique: Excellent facilities
Expérience fantastique: The weight room could do with more and lane swimming in the evening more days during the week
Expérience fantastique: Great facility with friendly staff. My daughter used to take her piano, swimming lessons and painting classes here. They have a wading pool for small kids which I love because I have a toddler. They usually have fun activities for kids on special holidays like Family day and Halloween.
Expérience fantastique: It's a public community center and it's well maintained. I like the gym and the pool. I go at 6.30am and it's usually quite and great to work out at the early morning time.I have no idea about other times though. Its good for a public community center. Clean and respectful staff members.
Expérience fantastique: One of the best pools in the city for lane swimming. Swimmers here are respectful and are here to exercise. I've noticed in some of the other city pools, people aren't cognizant and tend to loiter at the ends of the lanes. Here, it's never crowded and they play music in the pool area! Bonus: friendly staff!
Expérience fantastique: Extremely good staff are very friendly superb field trips I totally recommend it
Expérience positive: Really good swimming pool! Clean and not so much used!
Expérience positive: Good Facility.
Expérience positive: It's very clean but there are a few programs for early kids. It's more for adults
Expérience positive: Excellent pool. Has dedicated staff and community interaction. Needs an influx of help to resolve ageing issues.
Expérience positive: Good squash court and I wanted to play some pickleball
Expérience positive: It's a very friendly place. I go for the pool, but recently it is closed with no warning. Evidently its a problem getting lifeguards?!!??
Expérience fantastique: Great downtown community centre with pool b ball court daycare etc
Expérience fantastique: Great swimming pool
Expérience fantastique: Great downtown community centre with pool b ball court daycare etc
Expérience positive: Great for drop in. They limit the number of people who can participate to ensure everyone gets a chance to play.
Expérience fantastique: Community centre with many activities at affordable prices and even a swimming pool
Expérience fantastique: Great community center. Taking adult swimming lessons here. Nice instructors
Expérience fantastique: Staff are super friendly!! The facilities are varied and very clean, and well maintained!!
Expérience positive: The staff here are very nice. The gymnasium has a pretty short roof so it's difficult to play volleyball. Slightly expensive for drop-in recreational sports, but still pretty worth it.
Expérience positive: St lawrence community centre is always clean, friendly staff and all the programs are well coordinated.
Expérience positive: The pool is great, they have swimming lanes and a kids pool. There seem to be a lot of other amenities, but I haven’t tried any of them. I went a few times now with my son, the change room is a bit outdated, but generally it’s pretty clean. The pool water could be a couple degrees warmer, but other than that it’s a great pool for little kids!
Expérience positive: Weird shape.
Expérience positive: Great place
Expérience positive: Facility is great, however some staffs are little lazy with their work.
Expérience négative: For years, I used the St. Lawrence CRC pool extensively. It is real close and convenient for me. But, I was always so grossed out by this pool. Dirty change rooms, check. Even saw a cockroach once. (Oh, and saw a mouse traveling on the pool deck). Dirty showers, check. Balls of black hair on the floor. "We never have soap?", wrote one enraged patron on the wall. Filthy water, check. Some patrons openly spit in the water and/or scratch their scabs. Rude staff, check. Complained so many times to the supervisors. Freezing water? Check. So icy I stormed out angry from the pool and ended up bringing in my thermometer to prove this to "who-cares" supervisors. This morning, I got out of the pool to get a noodle, and I saw a trail of blood on the deck... leading all the way to the change room... some lady swam in this pool during her period and left a bloody trail behind... That was the last straw. I did not get back into the bloody pool, and I went to register to the Koo Cherry Street YMCA pool. That is my experience with this recreation centre.
Expérience positive: Everything Rasta International
Expérience fantastique: Relatively high level volleyball on Sunday afternoons. Not very forgiving for beginners.
Expérience fantastique: Great pool
Expérience fantastique: Programs for all ages.
Expérience fantastique: Small crowds,clean&felaxing.
Expérience positive: Nice pool, dingy changerooms.
Expérience fantastique: Best place to play inexpensive squash in the city
Expérience fantastique: A very well-maintained community space that allows you to pursue your favorite sport. With badminton and squash courts, swimming pool, dancing room, table-tennis (ping-pong) and other facilities, this is a great place to spend your summers. It is on the Esplanade so away from the crowd & traffic at the same, it is not very far away from downtown core.
Expérience fantastique: Great staff, fitness classes, activities.
Expérience fantastique: Great staff Always changing and improving programs
Expérience positive: Great for the community. Especially kids. Need more swimming lessons. Almost impossible to register.
Expérience positive: This is one of the few community centres with squash courts, and they are not too expensive - $7.50 per person for 40 min. There is a pool, but the John Innes Communiry Centre (5 min walk) has a pool, and is free, so I recommend going there instead.
Expérience positive: I've only used the change room and shower here before and after lunchtime runs, but the facilities are always clean and the staff are always friendly. The centre's proximity to both the Martin Goodman and Lower Don trails also make it a great place to start and end an outdoor run.
Expérience positive: Large place foe exercise. Big swimming pool Good for families and friends
Expérience fantastique: Great staff, fitness classes, activities.
Expérience positive: Great place to swim, lift weights or play squash. Although the squash courts need to be cleaned more often cause they are filthy.
Expérience positive: Great pool and facilities.
Expérience positive: Great for squash but pool water is not the best.
Expérience fantastique: Great place where to take your kids during winter.
Expérience fantastique: Great for the community, a diverse friendly crowd and great volunteers.
