Expérience positive: It's very confusing: I'm not a member, and I was looking for a zumba class in the neighborhood. So I ran into one at Miles Nadal center. When you register online the class appeared free but they ask for a donation. So I registered, gave a donation, but when I showed up for the class, I was told there is a $25 fee on top. So, basically, a "free" class turned to be a nearly $50 one if I chose to proceed. I opted out. There should be some clearer instructions on the website, especially for non-members and first comers.

Expérience fantastique: I love the diversity of people in this gym. The weight training facilities are top notch and the variety of programs in the gymnasium, studios, and pool keep me coming back. A huge thank you to Lia, an exceptional trainer, whose attention to form and belief in her clients' ability is simply amazing. A huge thank you also to Tamara, the fitness manager, for her care and generosity.

Expérience fantastique: Great facilities, friendly and capable staff, and reasonable prices. Most of all I like that it's not super busy and so it's easy to get on to the equipment or (with the exception of the summer months) use the pool. Shout out to Lia for her uncompromising devotion to getting her clients into tip-top shape!

Expérience négative: The worst GYM you can sign up for. No air conditioning, Membership staff is rude and arrogant and once you register you can not cancel your membership they will email you that your membership is cancelled and will still charge your credit card on file. Please be cautious.

Expérience positive: Went to the hungry caterpillar show, my daughter really enjoyed it but I was very annoyed that when we arrived we were told we can't bring in our stroller. Apparently this was on the ticket but you can't disclaim away stupid. This is a theatre in a downtown urban core. I could have driven my car but chose not to because I live downtown so I can avoid car dependency. This policy is thoughtless and should be reviewed. How do you expect parents of young children to come to your shows unless they drive on our already congested roads.

Expérience fantastique: My first visit here was for a live stage show. All the staff seemed on the ball, ushers got folks to line up and quickly scanned everyone's tickets. 5 stars alone for the venues choice of seating for their theatre, very comfortable. Spacious as well, didn't feel cramped at all while using the arm rests. Acoustically, this theatre packs a major punch for such a cozy space. Even though I was in the very back row, I could feel every musical vibration. That's not to say that it was too loud, because it wasn't, but the design of the room really lends itself to live music. I'd get immediate goosebumps as soon as the music would start; the entire room rumbled like the takeoff sequence of a major transatlantic airliner. Very awesome, funky time, hope to get to see more shows in this space.

I have been a member for years and never had a negative experience with staff or with other gym members. 5/5

Expérience fantastique: I love the JCC. I've been a member of two of its great choirs, and actively swim in the saltwater pool, and take rigorous fitness classes. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and always go that extra mile for me. I, and many others, consider the JCC to be our second home.

Expérience fantastique: I have been a member of the MNJCC for 2 years now and I absolutely LOVE IT. It is by no means perfect, the showers could use a good spruce up and so could the pool area, but all the facilities are clean and all the staff is incredibly friendly. Sometimes the front desk staff can be a little clueless about fitness or about certain information at the pool, but they always go out of their way to find someone who is able to answer your questions for you. I use every aspect of this gym, from the weights rooms, to the gymnasium itself, to the pool, to the steam rooms, and the classes offered and I have always had a positive experience. Membership is a little expensive, but with the amount they offer it is well worth it. I wouldn't work out anywhere else.

Expérience fantastique: I love the JCC! I am so glad I joined. It is a welcoming atmosphere with a very diverse membership that is inclusive to all. The staff are kind and friendly and helpful. It is well equipped and serves my needs well. My only complaint is that some of the teachers of classes are sub-par - it is really hit and miss in terms of quality. I do wish the JCC would pay better attention to the training of their teachers. That said, all of my experiences with the training staff has been great.

Expérience fantastique: Cozy atmosphere. The Nagata Shachu Japanese Taiko drummers performance was mesmerizing! Amazing stamina,strength and agility. movements were so fluid and graceful. Highly recommend going to see them. We plan to go see some of their other shows.

Expérience fantastique: I've been bringing my children to the Afterschool program for years, I can fully vouch for its educational and safe environment. My children loved all the different activities from cooking to sports and in particular the Cartooning club when it was first started. Overall a fantastic program that I hope will resume again in the summer, though I have noticed that the snacks are hit and miss.

Expérience fantastique: Large community centre serving the entire area. Wonderful staff and an amazing amount of programs for people of all ages. Learn pottery or yoga or violin or anything else that you may be interested in doing. The website is laid out in an easy way to find what you need as well. There is parking in the area around and is also right on the bus and subway lines. You won't regret it!

Expérience négative: Awful experience with swim lessons. Incompetent teacher who just stood there looking scared while no one helped her. Took over a week to get an email from aquatics supervisor who denied refund or new class. Take your kids elsewhere.

Rude & slow reception stuff - I lost a couple jewellery items in the pool and wasn’t allowed to look at the lost & found, long wait to get my towels (with such an expensive towel service) and was scolded for helping myself to one. Old, mushy facility, not worth half the price they’re charging.

Expérience négative: My experience with JCC was a bit disappointing. First I enrolled with them thinking that the swimming pool was exclusively salted but later on they told me that they still add chlorine due to the regulation in Ontario. Then I ran into issues getting the proper format for my membership bills that I wanted to submit to my insurance for reimbursement (staff was not helpful at all - little to no response to emails, and responses were not solving the issue). Last issue I had with them was regarding the cancellation of the membership, I requested it 3 days before the due date instead of 5... I had to pay a full month ($156 for my partner and I) for nothing. Well, good luck!

I really enjoyed the services that were led by Annie Matan, Freelance Spiritual Leader. She was very Inspirational and led us to Sing many Songs, including having a Very Nice Kiddush! Furthermore, the Dinner was Excellent and Delicious as well as the Dessert! Expérience fantastique: so much to love about this place. my whole family belongs here and there is so much for all of us to do! my husband plays rec floor hockey and basketball, i take aquafit and work out on the machines and indoor running track, my son takes swimming lessons, sportball and children's martial arts. plus - right at the corner of spadina and bloor? it doesn't get more convenient than that in toronto!

Expérience fantastique: Really good first impression going here for a basketball game. The courts are well maintained, and nets are perfect. Lots of space for small groups on side nets, and playing a full court game with high school 3pt is possible too. The court has a water fountain at the baseline, washrooms are clean, as are change rooms, and the staff is friendly. Average gym goers are respectful of each other welcoming.

Expérience fantastique: Love their salt water swimming pool. They have assisted membership for people who do not make a lot of money. You apply every six months with a notice of assessment as proof of your income.

Expérience fantastique: This gym is simply amazing. It has a great free weights area that many gyms fall short of, plus a lap pool, lots of weight and cardio machines, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend!

Staff is friendly and pleasant, clients clean up after themselves, personal trainers respect that they don't own the gym, and it's never extremely busy (you can almost always use what you want). Happily for me it has 3 power racks for squats/etc., and an area for olympic lifting. Also excellent if you're trying to find a pool in the city at a decent price. Also has an small indoor track + large gymnasium.

Which was a relief to other small scale venues in Toronto. Accessible by wheelchair from the Spadina Subway. Which is literally across the street. Wooden seats are uncomfortable but serviceable. Sound system average. Sight lines good to excellent .

Expérience positive: I strongly recommend this place to those who attend group classes. Yoga and pilates are amazing! Gravity classes are beyond my words. Very cool! Staff is helpful and attentive. I took several sessions with a private instructor, Sophie. Enjoyed it a lot. Very professional and unusual. The only thing that annoyed me that there are only three elliptical machines in the gym and sometimes people simply ask you to stop your workout, because they had booked it before. Anyways, the facility is great, clean and convinient.
