Parkside pool

Expérience fantastique: Not sure why all these reviews are so bad we so far love it there the building could need a little maintenance but other than that instructor is great. More one on one with the kids. We like it !!!

Expérience négative: Do not waste your time and money with lessons here. My youngest kid nearly drowned when the instructor wasn't paying attention and she slid from the shallow end to the deep end (there's also no divider/rope to prevent it). My oldest was passed with ZERO actual instruction. When we got to actual quality lessons, we had to set her back two levels. Absolutely useless and infuriating they take money for this disaster.

Expérience négative: I have been going to this pool for three years now and will not be going back. The lack of communication from the coordinator is unacceptable. We had one of our lessons cancelled due to the instructor and we were never offered a makeup date so I asked for the refund for the one lesson missed. After emailing four times I gave up and just accepted there wouldn't be a refund. The bathroom was never clean. Often out of toilet paper or soap. The other changing area was the sauna and there was the same dirty diaper in the for a whole month. The walkway was often not shovelled and very slippery to walk on with children. The instructors were fantastic. This poor review is based on our experience with the coordinator.

Expérience négative: I absolutely would not recommend this pool to anyone. It was evident that the pool was not cleaned throughout the entirety of our lessons, as the bottom got more and more covered with gravel and the water more dirty. The bathroom/changeroom was also disgusting and on top of that, the instructor was frequently late and seemed very disinterested in teaching the class. I asked for a refund and to express my concerns, but was ignored. Not to mention that it is illegal and a health violation for a home to run swimming lessons without oversight. Avoid.

Expérience fantastique: Parkside Pool is a good place for swimming lessons. This indoor pool is owned by a private individual who provides the space to qualified Red Cross / Lifesaving Society swim instructors. You can participate in group or private lessons. The instructors are knowledgeable and are very good with kids. The pool is small (imagine a private indoor pool) but is actually great for lessons. They offer all levels, include Bronze level certifications. Communications are generally done over email, and responsiveness and coordination of the classes has improved over the past two years. Payments are made over e-transfer. And although they did install a new sign at the end of their driveway, my only caution is that it is still very hard to see at 100kph when you are driving up the highway so keep a close eye out for it on the west side of the highway. I would recommend Parkside Pool if you are looking for swimming lessons in the Springfield/ Oakbank area.

Expérience négative: Went to the first swimming lesson and was totally thrown off by the lack of up keep of the place. The water was freezing cold, when they say on the website that the water is kept at a comfortable temperature of 84. The one bathroom that is available for changing was disgusting and so incredibly cold. Changing toddlers and infants before and after swimming in that sort of space was unacceptable. We had communicated that we would like a refund, but will pay for the one lesson we did take part in. Got a response of, I will forward this to Tim. Then crickets. I have sent now 2 other emails requesting our money back and they have not communicated with us at all. I would definitely NOT recommend this place for swimming lessons. It’s sad that people like this exist and I hope this review will help others who may be looking in to future swimming lessons there.

Expérience négative: No masks, covid outbreak and not refunding after this was discovered. Poor community members.

Expérience positive: Great pool for small classroom swimming lessons. Hands down better communication between teacher and students. Absolutely recommend if you live in the area.
