Expérience négative: I had a very bad experience today with a worker in the cafeteria at variety village I was reading the reviews and I find out I’m. Not the only one …. I had my usual 2 stuffed beef patty’s today … I asked for black pepper on my beef patty’s like I always do and she dumped literally a quarter of the bottle purposely with intent onto both of my patties and I was shocked didn’t say anything and i felt horrible like I deserved this treatment and it completely ruined my meal.. besides the cafeteria staff variety village is amazing i will never use the cafeteria again .. i feel horrible like it was fault being treated in such manner.. the cafteria workers name was lianne

Expérience négative: I had the most confusing experience with a staff named Amina. I was really craving the famous BLT sandwich at the VV cafe and when I tried to order it, this incompetent staff told me to go and come back the next day when she wasn’t working because she didn’t “feel” like making it and I can just have a beef patty if I’m really hungry since that one was already made. At first, I didn’t know if it was a joke but she was actually serious . Never in my life have I had this kind of experience at a restaurant. I walked out feeling both confused and defeated. I just know I’m never coming back there. I wish I could leave no stars because 1 feels much.

Expérience négative: Most expensive gym in the city if your not disabled , subsidized or on the family plan. This place caters to disabled and kids mostly so if your a single person would definitely not recommend this place . If you expect to use the sports gyms in the summer you won't be able to as they have kids camps that take over all their gyms from 9 to 5 every weekday. They also randomly close their gyms for special events quite frequently . Response to owners response****** You are a non profit yet you charge more than every other gym in city including ymca . Instead of having your camps take over all 6 basketball courts all summer how about leaving 2 for your paying members to use ?

Expérience positive: This place is great for the special needs community. The only thing I would suggest is that they have bath chairs to get in/out of the pool. The wheelchairs that are available are not suitable for persons who require more support when seated. This should be something that is rectified immediately to facilitate persons needing more support to get to and from the pool. This would make getting to the pool more accessible for persons of all needs. Overall a great place.

Expérience fantastique: Nice Gymn has 3 swimming pools with a track for walking. Hugh parking lot. There is a cardio room and a Kids gym room. Friendly staff at the reception. The fees a bit higher but lots of offerings. Many children use the facility. Before you try out other gyms do visit this gymn

Expérience négative: Sadly I'm going to say this: This place has gone down to the point that I will no longer be attending. Several things have happened during Covid and following that are just unacceptable. Today 1/14/2024 in the cardio room I watched an employee berate and belittle a member at closing that was leaving at closing all the while his "friends" stayed on machines after closing. Because he said to tell those guys to finish up as they always stay late. A verbal barrage from an employee ensued. It was quite disturbing and isn't the first time this has happened. Non employees often relax behind the desk, reports on members are common and often in error with no apology, any complaint is ignored, snarky comments. Members complain about this in groups and many have left due to seemingly kids running the place. In the past year the conditions and cleanliness of the weight room, cardio room and bathroom has become gross and employees ignore any complaint about it and the filth remains. I get all the torn cushions and damage, cycle machines but garbage and no cleaning...Its Gym 101 guys. Contacting management never gets a reply and most are afraid to since employees will hold a grudge. Perhaps if they walked around and looked at the machines and floor or if the employees listened and told management themselves it would help. Its too much work. Maybe this will help, I don't know. Its a great family gym, swimming, basketball but to do daily workouts perhaps not any more. Its good for kids.

Expérience positive: I usto come here back in the 90s with my teachers and my classmates every Friday somehow I didn't like it at all but at the end my friends and I usto run around in the hallways had a little fun but the staffs were alright and the swimming pool was ok but still I didn't enjoy it for some reason

Expérience positive: I used to come here when my home had passes but i cant afford it in a LTC and i think no one should be without because they need to be in a care home on ODSP. The ODSP membership amount should be half for those in a LTC.

Expérience fantastique: I am writing this post about Variety Village. My son attends Variety Village and would meet his friends from school and play basketball. It became the hub for his friends from school and for kids from the neighborhood and hockey teams. My son would say how much he liked Variety village. It felt welcoming and the staff were really nice. His real interaction was when he was hired as a Lifeguard. The staff in charge of hiring him was really very nice, patient and accommodating. My son is 15 and this was his first real job. He enjoys interacting with the other kids in his role as a Aquatics Instructor and with the other staff. Variety Village is newly renovated and they offer a variety of programs for diverse groups. It's a large facility with a swimming pool, track for running and indoor gym courts. There's a lot more I'm sure, but this is what I know. Highly, highly recommend this place for you to do some exercise and meet your friends. Oh, there is a membership fee of $384/year. Not too bad!

Expérience fantastique: If you're in the Birchmount and Danforth area or you're using the facilities at Variety Village you have to drop into the Cafe for your coffee or a light meal. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Everything is made fresh! The coffee is always fresh brewed, their sandwiches are made to order or to go as a combo. And they have fresh popped popcorn! Once you hear the machine working you can't leave without buying a bag, if the smells didn't catch you first lol. My coworkers and I at the TTC Wheeltrans are lucky to be able to visit this hidden gem daily. Now if only my regular order could be added to your combo list .

Expérience négative: It's a great place but I have a issue with the pool temperature and the shower that is either boiling hot and ice cold. I complained about this for years and nothing has been addressed.
