Expérience positive: Best place for summer camp for small kids according to me;everything on the same site : gym, swimming pool, garden, park with play structures. The team of camp monitors very motivated and dedicated. Appreciated the drop off and pick up system: so fast and efficient. Kudos to the CDS team who put lots of effort to improve throughout the years! Special thanks to the chiefs, the 1B monitors and last but not least the administrative staff (Dimitra)!

My son loved his outings at centre de la nature, Had fun at the beach , he loved the days he had swimming, science etc... You guys made it sooo memorable for my big boy .!!!

We would like to point out that our team explained the reason why your child might have been struggling. The life saving society program requires us to proceed with a specific teaching method. Since your child was of age for the Swimmer 1 class, you registered her in the Swimmer 1. There was some background information that our team did not know about certain difficulties your daughter has had in the water. Had we known these issues, we would not have allowed you to place her in that class but rather a preschool class where they have more support. As explained, had we known all of these pieces of information, we would have been able to correctly orient you to the right program. Furthermore, during our lessons, we have 2 lifeguards, 1 assistant-chief, the assistant coordinator, and the monitor in the water for a group of 6 children. We follow the protocols put in place by the life saving society. Thank you for your time and we wish you the best in the future

Just so we are all on the same page, we kept transferring you because you refused to accept the answer that our coordinators were giving you. We wanted to take the time to explain to you why we could not issue a reimbursement. At Sablon, respect is one of our main values. We respect our customer and expect the same in return. Our refund policies are clearly posted on our walls at reception. Our policies are also clearly written on every copy of the receipts we give you. Unfortunately, when you ask for a refund for an activity that ended almost 10 months ago, we cannot refund you. Every organisation has their policies and these policies have to be respected. Expérience fantastique: I play basketball here, and they just refurbished their floors. Really nice. They offer more services as well
Expérience positive: It's small, but I kind of like that about it. There's a little more privacy because of that. I don't like where the women's washroom is situated. You have to pass the key to re-enter. If you want to box, then just a suggestion - bring your own gloves!!!!! The womens changing rooms, lockers, and showers are very clean! They also have a family room but I haven't seen it. The pool is clean. FYI They have a tent in the back that you can rent for events.

Expérience négative: It's the third time that I try to use the pool and it's closed. I tried to call 4 times before I go and nobody answered. I checked the internet leaving the house, nothing on their site. When I complained, they said that the don't have life guards. But they didn't even think to change the schedule based on the staff they have. The place is nice but the management is poor. Very disappointed.
Mr. Anagnostou, We can assure you that the update was posted on our website. There is always an “alert” in red when we cancel our periods. For the phone, we cannot answer when we have line ups of people at our center. Unfortunately, as it was explained to you in person, when staff cancel last minute or do not show up, these are situations that are out of our control. There is a huge lack of staff all over Quebec in all industries. It is quite unfortunate that you decide to result to such actions for things that are out of our control. We will be making modifications to the schedule. Rest assured that our team is doing the best they can with the HR issues we are dealing with. Thank you for understanding.

Seule petit agacement les lifeguards aiment une musique très forte (hard Roch) pas spécialement relaxante....une musique plus calme serait grandement appréciée. Je recommande néanmoins cet endroit à 100%

Expérience négative: Terrible service and false promises. I purchased annual memberships for my two kids so I can register them for swimming. On registration day- I logged in at 7:30AM and by 7:32AM all spots were taken. How is this possible? On the next registration period I showed up in person- 5th in line. Same story. No.places. I asked for a refund of membership fees and was told by the manager (in his office) that a check will be mailed next week. Not a problem he said. It's been almost 2 months. No check. No contact. Nothing. Centre du Sablon was well run 20 years ago, but it's since become a complete joke.

Please not that registrations take place in person and online simultaneously. We've also transitioned to a new system recently and are working out the kinks with the developers. C'est aussi un milieu de vie exceptionnel pour les gens du secteur Chomedey, Laval. Les gens qui y travaillent sont gentils, attentionnés et ont à coeur d'offrir le meilleur service possible à leurs membres et clients. J'y ai travaillé 10ans et je suis fier de ce que l'endroit est devenu au fil des années, et ce qu'il continu d'être à sa manière. Par expérience, je recommande fortement pour tous les âges, pour des activités de loisirs ou de conditionnement physique aux gens du secteur de Chomedey et des environs. Bon succès et bonne continuation au Centre du Sablon.

Expérience négative: Horrible experience, I registered my 8 years old in the camp for one week, on the first day they called me two hours after I dropped him asking me how long he is registered for and when I said just one week they seemed very interested to kick him out making up stories saying he needs special aid and they want more money, and when I said he is fine and we never had any problems with him, they said fine no problem. The next day when I dropped him they started saying that my child requires aid and he has special needs requirements infront of him and made him feel very uncomfortable. I was forced to sign a paper they wrote saying he is special needs so they would refund some of they money and I went back home with horrified child crying for the last few days feeling very guilty as he did nothing to deserve this treatment. When I asked him about his experience I found out they kept him separated from the other children in an office and they told him you hit other kids and he never did and he never had any issues at school. I am very surprised with this experience and I do not understand why.
We are sorry to hear that your experience was not positive as our aim is to deliver a satisfactory service to our members. Since we were unable to render an appropriate service to your family, we have returned your payment for services non-rendered. The situation was quite unfortunate as we were unable to provide the support your child needed due to circumstances that are out of our control. As safety of all our campers and staff is a priority, when a camper is unable to follow basic rules of conduct, we try to correct the behaviour by asking them to stop and explaining why it is a problem. After many attempts by our camp staff, we cannot compromise the safety of the camper and /or the rest of the group by allowing a child to continue such behaviour, and unfortunately, we are unable to provide a one-on-one service. When a child is sent to the office to meet a camp supervisor, they are placed there to reflect on why they were removed from the group and that their actions are not taken lightly and then return to their group. Interventions by our camp staff happen following actions by campers that are deemed inappropriate (ex. hitting, running out of the group, use of inappropriate language, bullying, etc.). It is not in our practice to accuse campers of inappropriate behaviours when it is not the case. We hope that this explanation brings more clarity to the situation. A positive and fun camp experience is what we strive for. Team Sablon

During covid they are still open and require covid passport to enter. Fence access to the parks could use repairs, seems to be broken for a few years now, toddlers can walk out without attention. Expérience fantastique: My daughter has been attending camp there for 2 years and I have only sgood things to say about it! She absolutely loves it there and all of the staff are wonderful and extremely friendly! With the indoor pool the kids get to go swimming no matter what, and there are always a lot of fun activities going on every week. It is really worth the price difference compared to city camps!

Expérience négative: We rented the outdoor tent for a birthday, it seemed like a good deal and staff was so friendly. The day of the event was a nightmare, the staff that day were not accommodating what so ever. They harassed us for payment, I kept telling her I'm waiting for my husband to arrive and she asked me for the payment maybe 6-7 times. They wanted us to start cleaning up half an hour before my event ended, to leave my guests and start cleaning, even though I was promised an extra hour to clean up. They didn't have extension cords for us, which was also promised. They didn't let my guests use the washroom, they wanted us to use the outdoor washrooms which were disgusting. I have pregnant friends and elderly who couldn't use the washroom for the entire event. The space wasn't clean when we got there either. And to top it all off the receptionist was lurking during the whole event. I had a million things on my plate with my event and they didn't make my life easy at all.
Good day Ms. Sammour, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are sorry to hear that your event was not up to your standards. Due to Public Health Covid Restrictions and to protect our entire CDS community, we installed sanitary toilets outside for rentals. These are thouroughly cleaned and disinfected pre and post rental. Unfortunately, due to these restrictions, we cannot let rental guests inside the building as mentioned in the signed contract agreement between CDS and the renter. Interior bathrooms are reserved only for members, whose vaccine passports are checked. For rental payments, our procedure dictates that renters must pay prior to accessing the site. We are open to discussions regarding anything our agent said that was derogatory. We take these matters seriously. Our agents are often faced with rather disgruntled customers as they manage rentals to the best of their abilities. As for the extension cord, it was stolen from us and we did not get a chance to replace it in time for your event; our apologies. Our contracts clearly state that renters are allotted 1 hour after expiry of the rental to clean the premises. Unfortunately, many renters continue their celebrations, during this free cleaning period, rather than leaving our premises as clean as they found it. We invite you to contact the rental supervisor to discuss this further. Finally, we kindly request that you remove the picture you have posted of employees as they did not consent. It is an infringement on their rights. - CDS team
