Expérience fantastique: My little family loves the Waterdown Y! We started taking our baby to swimming lessons as soon as we could and now go to pool regularly. The lifeguard team is exceptional.. they are knowledgeable, kind, and make us all feel welcome!

Expérience fantastique: I really enjoy coming to the YMCA, they have every thing I need and want, I enjoy the water aerobics classes and the light weight classes with Diane, the instructors are all great and fun

Expérience négative: I have been going to the YMCA on parkside for 4 weeks straight. The pool is filthy! The tiles have never been cleaned. There are ants and bugs in the floor and in the pool. Not to mention, there is gravel and stones at the bottom. I thought it was glass at first. It would nice to see this pool cleaned up as it is the only pool in Waterdown. Do better YMCA. Your staff is awesome! Clean the place up! The public deserves that!

Expérience négative: We come here often. As of the summer the place is run by teenagers and it seems it's just teenagers. (Besides instructors) Last week one of the teenagers came up to me with a problem. Instead of talking to me like an adult I was met with attitude. So I told her "I'm leaving and I'm done talking to you." As I left her and her coworker yelled to me and I said "the conversation is already over I'm leaving." So the next week the DM comes to talk to me after I had already done what was asked of me. When I told her that they were cross with me she said that it was the other way around and she didn't seem to care about their teenage employees and how they deal with situations. Unfortunately I will keep going here but might stop our membership over the summer. On a positive note the instructors Dianna, Jenn and Jessie are fantastic. They are all full of energy, inspiring and compassionate. Dianna was very helpful after a family member had surgery and we are working on getting better so we can once again attend her classes. Jenn's classes are challenging and she inspires everyone throughout the class. Jessie's classes are always full of energy and are "so good so good."

Expérience fantastique: We take our 3 1/2 yr granddaughter swimming each Tuesday. I jump into lane pool for a 1km swim... 40 lengths. After swim -play time we have a snack in their eating area. All staff are very friendly and most accommodating.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been to this YMCA for Zumba classes, lane swims, and to take my infant to swim lessons. Every experience has been wonderful! We especially love Jesse our swim instructor :)

Expérience fantastique: Please don't listen to the review below by "thelocustemperor", whom obviously is angry from their own experiences of constantly verbally harassing YMCA staff which is why they were asked to leave. I have had nothing but positive experienced at the Flamborough YMCA, especially with the lifeguards who show their dedication to the job every time I'm there. They truly go above and beyond so this review is so surprising to me because it's not only false but so opposite to the experience I've had with the staff there. I think "thelocustemperor" should reflect on their own behavior rather than writing false and slandering reviews.

Expérience fantastique: The review posted by "thelocustemperor" is nothing but an angry response to his being kicked out of the YMCA multiple times for bullying and harassment of staff and members. He becomes violent and angry for ridiculous reasons and swears at staff and members while threatening them. Even assaulting another lane swimmer during a workout. It's easily summed up by saying. If you have such an issue with the facility and you already go to other centers as you say. Why would you bother continuing to the YMCA after they lift your ban? As for complaining about the size of aquafit classes. I would say that's a testament to how good the classes are. And if you're worried about a wet pool deck after classes. It's a pool You expect it to be dry? And as for dead skin cells in the water. I'm sorry is there another pool that people don't lose skin cells in??? The water is tested multiple times a day and has to meet safety standards. If you're upset about the lifeguards not saying hello to you perhaps you should stop being vulgar and violent towards them. Yelling, swearing and threatening them for watching you swim. You are aware it is their job to watch you right?? In summary perhaps you should do everyone a favor and go to those other pools you love so much and make everyone at the Flamborough YMCA happy. Since you can't manage to be happy yourself. Look at all of thelocustemperors reviews. All ridiculous 1 star reviews. Except for one. The one for Gagnon Sports. Where he praises his experience in buying guns. This is the kind of person he is.

Expérience négative: the Y is suppose to be for all family members and age. Aqua fit is no longer available weekends and evening? Seniors really depend on that sort of activity.

Expérience positive: The Gym has limited equipment, the place is kept fairly clean. High-school students during the week fool around too much in the facility and wear outdoor shoes.

Expérience fantastique: I recently visited this location upon entering I was met with friendly helpful front desk staff. I took one of the Musclefit classes and I found the instructor to be very motivating and her class was fun. The fitness centre has a nice selection of machines including the stairmill which is a personal favourite of mine. Overall this is a nice community hub to visit, easy to access via transit, ample parking, clean change rooms and bathrooms, staff seems to be actively cleaning here and keeping the facility safe. Overall great first impression I look forward to visiting this location again in the near future.

Expérience négative: New rules; Sauna is closed from 4pm to 7:30pm every Monday to Thursday. What’s the purpose of paying full price if facilities will only be available at certain time? Furthermore, hours are completely unreasonable. Closes at 9pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends.

Expérience négative: Not disability friendly in the slightest. Completely inaccessible swimming hours for individuals with disabilites. The large swimming pool is open clear through from 6am-9pm yet not a single minute is available for the accessible pool. Do better YMCA.

Expérience positive: Hours aren't the best( closes at 9pm weekdays, and 4pm on weekends...) and it's the most expensive gym around, but it's never too busy because of it. The steam room keeps me going!

Expérience négative: YMCA flamborugh has no good programming. They do not have the regular sports of badminton and tabletennis. They stopped the rock climbing activity. They made vaccine passport mandatory even for organized sport which is much stricter rule than the provincial guideline. They are going to lose many members as a result and hopefully then they may realize. They are trying to misuse the monopoly they have in waterdown area which is a shame.

Expérience négative: Before Covid19, when i used this pool, i would get a respiratory/ sinus infection every time. Something toxic in the air around the pool. Burned nostrils and needing an antibiotic. Don't send your kids here.I am a healthy adult. How much more prone are kids to ear and upper respiratory infections?

Expérience fantastique: Great place to exercise and meet people. I have always struggled with my weight ( love McD's) and I have lost over 100 lbs over the last year by going 4 times a week to the Y. Unlike other places, you do not need to look like a model to feel comfortable. All sorts of people show up and every one is supportive

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic facility - staff are second to none! Big supporter of the Waterdown High Cooperative Education program. Thanks for allowing students to get their first experiences in the world of work and being an amazing community partner.

Expérience négative: Sauna is closed for a few weeks. Supervising staff (mostly teens) are overwhelmed, unfriendly and some simply rude. Break time between swim modules is constantly increased (well those Timbits need to be finished). No street shoes policy is not enforced.

Expérience négative: I have been going to the Y for a few years on and off. I love to work out and use the sauna..I was very discouraged when we were using the sauna a few time three weeks ago, a young man with dark hair came in with his cell phone shorts and t shirt and started using his phone, at fist I thought ok, just let him be...Then he got up and started doing push-up s on the wooden part of the sauna...Then I got mad, I said please don't work out in here! When he responded back he had a Iranian accent, he told me to mind my own business!And to get a life.. he was extremely confrontational.. a older couple was in there with us, they just shook their heads. He told me to back off and he just glared at me! A few days before I was there and one of the workers a young girl told her staff members 'lets have our meeting in the sauna...' when they came in we were in there using it like we should for our health, she and the rest of the staff weren't happy that they couldn't have their meeting in the sauna...? The point ..If she allows her staff with their sweaty clothes to come in the sauna what's to stop anything anyone to do what they want...It seems it's sloppy no one keeps the standards ..Kids running around the change rooms if you want a bit more privacy you have to pay more to go to the adult change room..That's why I stopped going. Not impressed
