Expérience fantastique: The therapeutic pool is great to take babies in for a swim. The change rooms are alittle cold after a swim so make sure you have a very warm towel.

Expérience fantastique: The Minto Recreation Complex is a multi sport and event building. The building consists of one swimming pool, two ice hockey rinks and an indoor basketball court. Staff is very friendly and overall this is one of the more known buildings in the neighborhood. Well maintained building, however, the parking lot is far away from the main building and sometimes is completely full. Overall, highly recommend if you are in the area !!

Expérience positive: A modern, well-maintained and bustling recreation complex serving Barrhaven and surrounding neighborhoods, with friendly and welcoming staff. In addition to standard amenities like rinks, swimming pools, playground, and weight/cardio rooms, the complex offers a unique indoor walking track on the second floor, perfect for winter walks. The only drawback is that it can get quite crowded, often operating at full capacity.

Expérience positive: The Facility is nice and has potential. Unfortunately it seems the majority of their staff are teenagers and couldn't care less about enforcing the rules or following themselves. I've frequently seen minors in the weight room wearing flip flops or sandals when it is clearly advertised that it's prohibited. Additionally, they were unaccompanied and engaging in exercises that can hurt themselves (i.e. teasing each other over their max bench press weight and peer pressuring each other). On another note, the front desk staff can be found playing games on their phone at any given time and have asked customers to wait a moment before putting the phone down.

Expérience fantastique: I am here every year. Location is good, somethings could use an update like the showers etc. Gym is good, pools are good, ice is usually good aswell.

Expérience positive: Very busy time for public skating this Spring. There are only two rinks and this place is packed so full you have to park 5 minutes away from the entrance. The lines are long at the information desk just to pick up a couple of tags so you can get on the ice and the change rooms are small so you don't have a place to sit. The walkways around the rinks also pool a lot of puddles. Overall, not the best facility I've visited.

Expérience fantastique: A very clean and modern facility with a pool, rink, fitness center, and additional meeting rooms. Plenty of parking is available.

Expérience positive: I find it frustrating that many of the gym equipment are broken and not repaired for months. There is already a small amount of machines. For such a massive building, they really messed up building it the gym space. It should be double the size for this building. Just too much wasted space in there.

Expérience négative: My ex wife spoke to the staff and lied to them about me while I was attempting to visit my child at her sporting event, their mother removed her from the class to spite myself and within seconds the employee conducted "parental attendance" and when I said my child's name, who was clearly just in the room seconds before this, I was told by her "coach" that she wasn't there that day and I needed to leave immediately. After I left the manager Shawna decided to search my social media profiles and look me up, even though Shawna herself only said my ex asked her to take our child out of the gameplay, so why did they conduct parental attendance and why did they search my socials? I believe that the city staff at this facility was deliberate in their actions against myself and are doing this due to what was said about myself from my ex wife, who hates me beyond all recognition. I am unbelievably disappointed in the staff at this facility and will be making formal complaints with the city and with our local MP as this behaviour is uncalled for. I was simply a father trying to watch his children have a good time and this was the result.

Expérience fantastique: Shout out to the lifeguard Aiden. He's an amazing instuctor and the progress my 5 year old made in only 3 swimming sessions is incredible. Thank you Aiden!

Expérience fantastique: This is a very comfortable and relaxing place to spend that gym time every day. Lots of nice people and the Minto team are great. If you wanna feel at home while burning those fat off, come to Minto Barhaven

Expérience fantastique: This place is very nice and has everything you need to have a good workout. The only drawback is that the accessibility and layout are not as intuitive as it could’ve been. For example, you cannot access the walking track from the weights room. Parking was not that easy to find. However, whatever they had were fantastic. It’s a very family friendly environment. The place was spacious, clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Expérience fantastique: It's a nice community center. Open swim is nice, water is clean, lots of room in the change rooms. Their work out room looks nice and they have a walking circle above a gym.

Expérience fantastique: Minto is a great facility offering a large number of activities starting from toddlers to senior citizens...I love it for my daily exercises, walking and other regimes..

Expérience négative: This place says “drop in” sports then asks if you reserved, let me know if that makes sense . I was shook. The customer service is questionable.

Expérience fantastique: Full complex. Two hockey rinks. A pool, walking track, gym and Community space. Soccer/football field and small park outside. There are rooms inside for parties as well. Well located in barrhaven with ample parking.

Expérience fantastique: This is THE best community centre in this world. During Sundays preschooler swimming time, they even play kids fav songs. My son is so happy swimming here.

Expérience négative: Most of the time one or the other machine is broken. Today was disappointing as the weights and cardio room was closed till August 14 and the never sent any email or text. I wasted my time which should have been a workout time after a long day at work. I have to talk to someone for this dissatisfying experience. I hope they are more respectful business.

Expérience fantastique: Took my son for swimming private lession at minto. Very good staff. Damion who teach my son is so dedicated to his job with excellent teaching skill. 5 star for his excellent job. Today was his last lesson and Damion made him ready for the next level of swimming.

Expérience fantastique: Pool is great, thankfully they were able to change most of the shower curtains in the Ladies change room. I will suggest maybe talking with the lifeguards about they're manners. Some speak to the kids very disrespectfully.

Expérience négative: The ice was very soft, it's 13 degrees outside but the ice surface was very poor. The showers hardly had water coming out of then. A disappointing morning skate.

Expérience positive: Nice complex, the parking is far from the door but acceptable. Nice bright rink, very nice sized dressing rooms, and very clean throughout. It's a long walk from the ice surface to the viewing area. Warm enough for shorts

Expérience fantastique: This is always a great place to go for recreational activities. The staff are not always the friendliest, however the facility is wonderful and very well maintained. Parking does fill up quickly. The universal change rooms are great when with the family, and there are lockers you can use and boot storage in the main change room entrance. This is a great place for all sorts of activities from swimming to hockey, to badminton, to weight lifting... There's even a track above the gym/courts.

Expérience négative: Facility itself is clean and well maintained **BUT** registration process is horrible! It's a nightmare for parents who have no other option but to register with the city! They refuse to hire people, they refuse to pay higher wages, therefore we parents have to suffer! Don't even get me started on the "day of registration"! It's worse than "hungry games"! City says, "we fixed the website"! Sure you did, all the classes get filled within couple of seconds, but again for "only those who can log in"! Not to mention the website boots you out and puts you in the queue! By the time you come back to "my wish list" the classes are already gone! This all happens within a minute, less sometimes.... This is beyond pathetic!

Expérience positive: Seems like a nice facility - but chaotic and disorganized. I showed up this evening (Monday) for adult volleyball - for which I had pre-registered online and received confirmation emails for, only to be told that with little warning the schedule had changed and it was now volleyball for kids. Schedule changes are bound to happen, but they have to be combined with proper notification of everyone effected.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful complex and we really enjoyed the indoor walking track. Parking was limited during the time we visited (after school hours on a weekday).

Expérience fantastique: Nice rec centre with indoor pool and ice rink. We took our little guy here for swim classes and the instructor Aydan is great. Water was nice and warm when it was -27C outside with windchill. Front desk staff friendly and helpful as well.

Expérience fantastique: Great place to play Pickleball, wish they had more time slots of course as love the sport. Place is always nice and clean and sure like the fact that if short a player the staff will jump in so makes fun for all.

Expérience positive: Great arena complex. Lots of accessibility. The staff are fantastic and incredibly helpful. The place is always clean. Only thing I would change is that the vending machines aren't stocked well enough, they sell out so quickly and take forever to be refilled. And one other thing when the league was booking the ice time you would think the city would put the sledgehockey team on the accessible ice surface at minto the accessible rink is the south one and we play all out game and practice on the non-accessable rink the north rink. Don't know what happened there but it should have been the other way around.

Expérience fantastique: I was visiting my sisters's family in Manotick. I came to Minto Rec Compkex to do some walking. This pkace is very well managed and very clean. There are many outstanding facilities for all ages for exercising and recreation. This is an excellent facility and has plenty of parking.

Expérience négative: We paid for a multi facility/activity pass. I feel our money was wasted as no one checks or controls anything. The weight room is not monitored. Lots of teens making noise. Sometimes overly crowded.

Expérience positive: Have facilities to suit most people. Seen lots of people just walking through the gates without showing membership pass.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent facility and staff. Went to the drop in basketball and it was pretty decent. Wish they had a referee to make it more organized and up the drop in charge.

Expérience positive: Everything is nice except the pool is way too warm for swimming. I guess to serve most people especially elderly it has to be warm, but if you want proper swimming exercise I would not recommend. I have been using a swim team shared training pool in the past in the past few years in another city, as a switch this pool is way too hot for myself. Your body overheats easily after a few laps, I tried to keep swimming regardless but felt worse and had to stop.

Expérience fantastique: Minto is a wonderful pool. The baby pool has a lazy river (though it's not always on), the lane ropes do this cool thing where they retract into the basement, and the building itself is massive. I would even go so far as to say minto is the prettiest rec center in ottawa

Expérience fantastique: The ice pads are always really well maintained. I recently left my helmet at home and the staff was nice enough to find me a loaner for the night. This so happens to be the night I take a slapshot off my cage! Happy to still have my teeth

Expérience positive: Great facility, 5 stars for that for sure. Our 2 hour ice rental didnt have any rooms ready as they were filled with public skaters belongings. Didnt see one person working in the locker room area. I suggest you provide the same dressing rooms for the 2 hour public skating and then different rooms for the 2 hour rental instead of criss crossing the room allocations needlessly. A top facility in the City though.

Expérience négative: Doesn't seem to be well run. They lock people in the changing rooms before children's classes cutting off the fire exits and ensuring only one way in and one way out. Disaster waiting to happen. No common sense.

Expérience positive: It's pretty decent, I would say. It's not perfect, but it's not terrible. It has a large indoor swimming pool, and a skating rink, and summer camps, and more that I haven't mentioned. But its definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
