Expérience positive: Great place, all inclusive with things to keep the body active! Had a body map session with Paul and he was kind and very knowledgeable with what he does. Learned from him how to get started with my goals for 2025!

Expérience négative: Have been member of Altea for over 5 years and cancelled my wife’s and my membership last month. At beginning we were really satisfied with this gym with good environment and clean facilities until 2023. After 2023 we had seen the service getting down and worse in 2024. More members join in but limited staffs could provide help. My wife saw staff rinse dirty brush into swimming pool and mop the floor several times. Another thing is about kids club, it was really great for families like us to leave kids for 1-2 hour for workout. It also becomes more crowded this year, however only Altea only provides limited staffs working and poor management. Some staffs blamed kids for naughty behavior instead of being patient and peaceful. We could understand it’s so busy for them. They become tired and impatient sometimes even we try the slow time like afternoon. Considering all those factors, we cancelled our memberships. TBH, if you are looking for a place only for workout and living in bridgewater, it’s still a good option.

Expérience positive: I absolutely love this place but… I have a membership and it’s great honestly I can come and go as I please I can access everything, but my only grievance is there is one worker I will not name names, but she is constantly a pain to interact with. I asked for a towel like I always do and she said “do you have towel service?” Which is for all members. she proceeds to look up my name and say “you can’t use the towels” anyways I love this place but I’m fed up.

Expérience négative: I was member of the gym for couple of years, but unfortunately in the end of last year my husband suffered discrimination against his disabilities and the management poorly managed the case, we were mistreated and we suffered a lot during the time. The gym has great equipment and the facility is very nice, but what is the point if they are not inclusive? They don't have the best culture. After couple of days they called to offer an agreement, I was not allowed to record and when they send the document it was different what they said over the phone and I refused to sign. It is a perfect gym if you don't have to deal with any issue and if you don't have special needs.

Expérience positive: I do love this gym and it's really nice, but I feel like the maintenance and housekeeping has been lacking. I'm not sure if I'm noticing it more now that I come evenings and weekends but it's often that the automatic flush toilets in the bathroom on the mainfloor don't work, there's often not paper towel available in the dispensers, and it just seems a little dirty. Again, love this gym but I feel like if these things were more taken care of it would have a better rating from me.

Expérience positive: Wife and I were going here for about a year and a half, and the experience was great, however ultimately decided to cancel because of the location was a bit far for regular visits & the price point, which fell outside of our budget for now. The gym was usually always busy, however I rarely had any issues finding a machine or weights to do my workout. My wife really enjoyed the classes, and found them to be very fun and beneficial. My daughter also enjoyed coming here for the kids room, as well as family swim/swimming lessons. My daughter also hosted her birthday party at the climbing wall area, and it was a wonderfully great time, and the staff was so great with us and all the kids. While the amenities and features, like the sauna/steam room were probably my favourtie part, I can't leave a review without giving a shoutout to the absolutely amazing custodial staff where were always seen with a smile constantly keeping all parts of the gym clean for everyone to enjoy. We're no longer members today, but we left happy with great experience and would consider joining again in the future.

Expérience fantastique: Great clean exercise space with fantastic yoga, spin, barre, aquatics and personalized fitness training. The kids can hang out in the day care space or go climbing in the Ninja course room while I hit up a class.

The gym equipment is top notch and all my needs are met as each floor offers something different. I love that it is also family oriented. I give this gym 5 glowing stars

Expérience positive: Love this gym especially the fact that hot yoga is included.

Expérience négative: Altea Active is a scam. They don’t honour their word. They lie and misrepresent their policy to get you to sign up. Their business practices lacks integrity. The facility has machines that are broken for long periods of time. The majority of the treadmills and stairmasters are out of order. The bathrooms are mouldy. When you raise your concerns you are met with management hiding behind their front line employees and digging their heels. Altea does not value customer relationships or the customer’s experience. I’ve been a member for a year and I will be considering alternative options.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been attending this gym for over two years now and I still do. I love it. The staff are amazing, friendly, the layout of the gym is perfect. I love how big the windows are and the fact that they are placed right where the cardio and weightlifting areas are located. The natural light sure makes a huge difference. I lost 40lbs so far when I started my weight loss journey in April 2024 and coming to Altea Active adds more joy to my journey. I can say a lot of good things about this gym. 5/5 stars for me. Highly recommend Altea Active!

Expérience négative: I am attending winnipeg altea branch.. I had high hopes for Altea Active gym given its luxurious reputation and the high membership fees, but unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. The facilities are undoubtedly top-notch, and the equipment is state-of-the-art, but there’s a major downside, the fishy odour smell. Walking into the gym, I’m immediately hit with a strong, unpleasant odor reminiscent of a fish. It’s hard to focus on my workout with such a pervasive smell. Despite the luxury branding and the hefty price tag, it seems like basic cleanliness and odor control have been overlooked. I hope the management addresses this issue soon. Bleach the ladies’ change room everyday! A simple investment in better ventilation or more regular cleaning would go a long way in justifying the premium fees and enhancing the overall experience. Until then, it’s hard to fully enjoy what could otherwise be an excellent fitness center.

He was a great guy, didn’t make it feel like a huge sales pitch (unlike my experiences at GoodLife), but rather gave me my scans and data for where I am starting at, a great chat about my goals and the facility and classes overview, and a general workout guide. He was a very nice and approachable guy. Overall a super helpful session to get me started on my Altea journey.

Expérience positive: The facility is beautiful, great classes and well maintained. I’ve recommended this facility to the newcomers I work with and will continue to do so. *However* we had major issues with suspending our memberships, and ultimately we decided to cancel after months of continued charges despite me trying to repeatedly resolve this issue. The front desk staff were unwilling to escalate my issue. They provided me false information, were argumentative and did not believe me when I said I was still getting charged. I finally had someone agree to have a manager call me back when she returned from vacation on July 1. I asked if they were sure someone would call me on a stat holiday, and I was assured she would. I did not receive a call back. This person was telling me I owed late fees (which have since been paid - even though by their information I was not going to be charged any further) and that I owe for one cycle still (which is not the information I was given initially) and that this gives me a “free” 2 weeks when I return. How is it free if I’ve paid for it? Finally yesterday I spoke to someone very helpful who set up an appointment today to cancel my memberships and speak with a manager. I was told I could cancel all 3 memberships with no penalty. The manager I dealt with today was very helpful and I am hopeful my issue is finally resolved.

Expérience négative: My first day at Altea was terrible because of the roadmap sessions. Yesterday, I purchased a membership at Altea, eagerly anticipating a positive and supportive environment. However, my experience with Altea staff was far from satisfactory. Initially, the membership coordinator informed me that I needed to pay $24.99 for a road map session, despite my clear expression that I did not want this service. I was told it was mandatory, so I reluctantly agreed. During my road map session with the program planner(?), I was subjected to an unacceptable level of treatment. The first half of the session was relatively normal, as he inquired about my daily life and goals at Altea. I answered honestly, expecting a professional and understanding response. Unfortunately, after the body measurement, the situation deteriorated rapidly. I had already informed him about the pain in my right knee, yet he insisted I perform squats. Despite my efforts, I struggled and experienced pain. When I communicated this to him, his demeanor changed. He began making inappropriate comments about my English proficiency, referring to it as a "language barrier," which I found deeply offensive and irrelevant. I explained that my ability to express pain would be the same in my native language, yet he continued to press the issue. He further compounded the situation by suggesting that I needed personal training to address my pain, despite my clear refusal. His persistence made me feel harassed and uncomfortable. The last 30 minutes of the session were particularly distressing, as I felt blamed, insulted, and discriminated against. His behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, and I left the session feeling terrible. Now my understanding is that the purpose of the roadmap session is merely for selling personal training. I hope this kind of thing never happens again and should be dealt with as soon as possible.

Expérience fantastique: Hosted an incredible charitable event in support of Epic Opportunities that brought together 55 people for a fantastic spin class and a calming hatha yoga session. We enjoyed a delightful brunch with stunning views from the lounge. Thank you, Altea, for providing such a wonderful space. Everyone enjoyed it immensely and we are now raving fans of your facility!!!

Expérience négative: After going to Altea for a couple of years, I can now honestly say that the only thing I can say they do well is set themselves up so that they can take you for every penny you have. They do have maybe the odd piece of equipment that you may not find elsewhere, but definitely not by any means something you can't make work with alternatives. And when a piece of equipment breaks, it takes forever to get fixed. Everything about this gym is designed to bleed you of every penny they can. From charging extra for use of the climbing walls and ninja gym, to the smoothie bar and Starbucks right in the lobby (they have their use but just an example), to the fact that they contractually lock you in to personal training sessions instead of offering training by the session.Thee only way out is to find someone to "buy out" your remaining sessions. Their staff are on a mission to sell to you if you ever go for a meeting with any of them and even if you aren't interested in somethingand know it won't work for you, they will continue to work you. All this combined with the most expensive prices in the city, only one location, and not even being 24 hrs have led me to the conclusion that this is the worst gym available for the average person. I very highly recommend going to an alternative gym unless you are: Wealthy, find it to be your only option, or want training and would like to spend a ton of money on it with no alternative.

It feel amazing when you want to come to the gym, when you receive satisfaction from going to gym. I should say thank you my incredible trainer David! He is the best!

I should say good job They change the perfect new hairdryer, renew steam room, sauna and shower room Just small things to remind, I often use the swimming pools, but I wish that water can be keeping clear every day, some times look like a little bit muddy. Expérience positive: Very Good Gym - Good Crowd. Have been going to the gym for two years. The only thing that I find is lacking is the machines as compared to any other newly built gyms. There is only one smith machine which is broken most of the time - and when its operational each person spends minimum of 20 min if not more. Cable fly machine - only one. These two machine I find people using the most - a second one of each needs to be added. And if there is one - it needs to be fixed in a decent amount of time.

Expérience négative: The lack of compassion for immigrants is disgraceful! After bringing multiple members to the facility, there is no assistance or understanding when an emergency situation arises! Do better!!!

Expérience fantastique: Member since early 2022. High quality facility with tons of options to train for ANY level of experience from newbies to advanced. Friendly staff and management that continues to make postive improvements such as the addition of numerous squat racks, platforms, machines, and accessories. This has been my primary workout facility and has assisted me in medalling in a number of natural mens physique competitions. Long time Good Life member but Altea has proven better and worth the switch.

Expérience négative: I have had a good experience there until those things happened: I tried to use my gift card before expired and I sent emails to try booking a personal trainer before I travel, unfortunately they don’t answer me, I send two emails and I decided to talk in person at the front desk, they said that they will book the person trainer for me and I will be able to use my gift card, I travelled, when I got back they didn’t nothing, so, I lost my gift card in January. On May 24 I noticed a $102 bill from a Altea, it was supposed to be $34 by weekly, I came here to talk about it, they said that charge me $26 for late payment, but my credit card was okay, they said that the payment didn’t go through less than one week late and they charme me $26!!!! Insane, I felt stupid. I don’t want to came here anymore. The girl on the front desk told me to wait on side to talking with another person, I went back to the front desk suddenly and they were talking about me, so disrespectful!!! Another girl came to talk with me and she know nothing, don’t help with nothing. I lost my time, money and patience there. I would like to cancel my member ship but they said that I can’t until September because of the one year of commitment. When my membership finally finished I will never be back here, I will go back to Goog life gym, it never happened to me there. They don’t care about nothing that I said. So disappointed

Every area of the gym steam , sauna , salt room, yoga studio workout area is always clean .. we ladies have extra perks in gym with separate swimming pool , dressing area and waiting area.

They will bind you some kind of contract and commitment while signing up for membership and keep charging you for several months even after requesting to cancel the membership. Their business model is to trap people and keep charging even after requesting to cancel several times. Stay away from this fraudulent brand. It's ridiculous that they are asking me to pay $1750 when I hardly used their facility for couple of time.

Expérience négative: Thought the amenities are good but no one knows anything, Software does not work, and when contacted front desk, says IT team working , its been 1 month now when i cannot logged in. For everything , front desk keep sending to differnet department, at least management should train the front desk to know everything. Recently i asked personal training option, redirected me to personal trainer manager, saying we dont have access, IT issues, we are working, Gift card usage, no ideas but then i spoke to another person again same thing, then next day another person then i got to know where can i use and where cannot. I believe , being a reputed firm like this, they should update training manuals, processes etc rather just acquiring memberships.

Numerous classes are offered from yoga, swim, to high energy classes and the instructors are great.The staff are always friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean and well organized. I love the women’s only section complete with a pool, hot tub, etc. I love the huge variety of classes available. I urge anyone to try a free class. You’ll be hooked.

Expérience fantastique: After checking out a few of the popular gyms, I signed up with Altea. The prices maybe slightly higher, but the amenities and atmosphere more than make up for that. The instructors and trainers take the time to engage with people and have all been very personable and happy. There are many options of classes available, plus a hot tub, sauna and stream room to ail your muscles after a session. At Altea, I look forward to going to the gym and taking part of the process to becoming a healthier version of me.

Expérience négative: This one star review is a result of how Altea offers a promotion with a $200 gift card to be redeemed in house. I have the text messages clearly stating it is a gift card. I thought gift cards were not supposed to expire here in Manitoba. Anyway the $200 gift card had a sticker over top of the part that says expires in 90 days upon issue. The sticker happened to be the name of the card holder that was deliberately placed over top of this alleged expiry date. This expiry date was never advised to not only myself but also two others that I know that learned the hard way about this expiry. The other person I know also had their name on a sticker concealing this expiry date. So the fact that there was a referral program that offered this $200 gift card, as indicated in my text message, when it was discovered that it expired when finally deciding to attempt to redeem, there was a huge disappointment when they pointed out the sticker covering the expiry date that they covered up, with our names on it. I would like this to be corrected, so if you do respond to this google review, please indicate that you will be re-issuing and honouring a new $200 gift card so that we can actually put it to use. Thank you. UPDATE: Shortly after the original post, they re-issued the gift card with again a now known 60 day expiry date. Keeping this 1 star as this shouldn’t have an expiry date. This gym has too many members going to it as you often see a full parking during their peak times. I wish another gym would open up very close by for others to consider as this gym is just over crowded. I won’t be renewing my 1 year locked in membership once the 12 months is completed.

It was absolutely amazing to connect with a professional fitness planner and be able to discuss my fitness goals and objectives. Paul was very knowledgeable and listened to what I had to say regarding my fitness goals, and he set up a fantastic plan for me for the next 3 months to build the foundation to achieve my goals. Expérience fantastique: Classes are pretty awesome, the gym is great, the aesthetic of the place is mint, only complaint I have is the parking lot in winter so far people take up two spots but the amount of flow of in and out you can usually find a spot right out front

Expérience positive: The gym is fairly nice. But overall, it doesn't offer anything special, really. The fact that it isn't 24 hrs is a bit of slap in the face, especially with its expensive membership rates. For this reason alone, I think I'll be switching to goodlife once my contract is up

Expérience négative: This gym was fantastic when I first joined over two years ago, but unfortunately, it's been on a steady decline lately, pushing me to think about cancelling my membership. The crowds have grown so much that snagging a parking spot has become a challenge, and the machines are almost always occupied, making it tough to get in a decent workout. Certain hours may be less crowded, but they might not align with everyone's schedules.

Expérience fantastique: Wanted to start the new year with a plan to get into the best shape of my life. Heard lots of good things about Altea so I decided to do a quick walkthrough. Glad I did because had a great feeling walking in, the place is clean organized, and full of good Vibes. Met with Izzy, phenomenal energy and patience with all my questions before I signed up. Then assessed with Amanda who spent a lot of time making sure I would get the most out of the membership. She listened to my goals are then gave me very specific targets which I liked. Of course Finally, she set me up with Trainer Andreas who surprisingly was instantly familiar with my very personal and specific goals. Surpassed all my expectations through the whole process. Expérience négative: Beware of the fine prints in their membership trap… They keep charging you for 6 months after you give them notice to terminate your membership because you have moved out of the aeea… what a scam… stick to the big brands who make money through their membership fees, not the cancellation fees!

Expérience fantastique: Very nice facility. It’s always clean, the staff are super friendly, and the equipment/classes offer a ton of variety for members. The rooftop patio is a huge bonus and is the best place to unwind with a coffee or smoothie after a workout.

Expérience négative: I have been a member of this club since it first opened years ago. What attracted me to the club was the amenities, cleanliness and variety of equipment. Over the last year things seem to be deteriorating despite membership rates skyrocketing. For the last three months more and more treadmills are out of service due to being broken to the point that now I would say 3/4 of the treadmills do not work at this gym and the ones that do work have serious wear and tear on them. There is constantly buckets around the weight room collecting water as the roof has been leaking for the last two years and despite repeated claims that they have staff that regularly clean the gym and wipe down equipment to protect against Covid-19 I am very skeptical. I work from home most of the time so I’ll be at the gym during the day and sometimes evenings for 1-1.5 hours at differing times throughout the week. I have never seen staff wipe down equipment or clean while I am there. Thank god I see members wipe down sometimes. This gym still has lots of potential but I think management needs to seriously reinvest in the business or at the very least replace the obviously broken machines, you collect enough membership fees to make that a possibility!

Expérience fantastique: Very disappointed with the up keep of Gym equipment. Been a member here since the start of Covid. Currently, of the 16 treadmills with tracks 11/16 are unusable in some capacity. Whether they are unable to turn on, unable to incline, or the track gets caught and hesitates (which is dangerous and can be harmful to someones knee). Cleanliness of the mens Saunas are consistently poor. Very disappointed as rates were recently raised, under the guise that these items would be fixed and have only gotten worse. Get new treadmills. As well, filing multiple complaints on the anonymous feedback Ipad in the main area always are left with no follow up. Accountability would be appreciated. There is also no enforcement of any rules in the mens change room and often people will go into the sauna in their sweaty gym clothes and out door shoes tracking rocks, and dirt. I really want to like this place but this past year has been very unpleasant. Please have some accountability to your members. ** I wanted to follow up with an update** After leaving this review I received a phone call from one of the Managers and they took accountability and assured that the treadmills would be fixed in short order. I can confirm that the treadmills have been in much better shape and consistently operational the last 5 months since my review. Additionally, when speaking to the manager I had voiced frustration about the lack of a quality scale in the mens change room and that has been since rectified as well. The call to action and accountability from the facility was extremely professional and I am happy with my experience.

Expérience positive: I have been a member of Altea since Jan 2023. Overall, I would say its a good gym, where you have lots of options for different type of classes any time of the day and there is a good variety of machines available for workout. A major weakness is that some very important machines (example: Smith machine) are very hard to get into without waiting long and damaging your exercise (they only have one of this machine in the whole gym).

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been a member at this facility since the day it opened. Fantastic facility. The staff is fantastic. If you have a family and want to teach your children healthy habits this is a great place to be. We are lucky to have a facility like this !

Expérience négative: The busiest gym in Canada…. don’t come around peak hours which is from 3pm to 9pm…Huge parking lot but no where to park, be prepared to walk for 10-15 mins if you find street parking. Gym is all new with good equipment but busy ALL the time, teenagers and kids running around… no available lockers, way too many people in every room it’s a fire hazard!

Expérience fantastique: I have been training with Liam at Altea for almost a year now. Due to mobility issues I needed an experienced trainer who could help me build muscle while working around my compromised range of motion. Liam is very knowledgeable. He is passionate about physical health and helps his clients meet their personal goals. I feel extremely fortunate to have him as my trainer.

Expérience fantastique: Love being a member at Altea Winnipeg. There is so much variety. Pretty well all of the glasses are included in the price. A special shout out to personal trainer Liam who is extremely knowledgeable, educated and focused on teaching me how to perform exercises correctly. I’ve learned so much about building muscle, how movement is key, and working through pain as I recover from knee surgery and a back injury. He cares about his client’s progress and setting people up for success! Thanks Liam!

Expérience positive: The 1 time initiation fees are pretty ridiculous & the registration associate doesn’t care about your concerns about the excessive fees to sign you up for a locked 1st year contract. $40 registration & $25 mandatory assessment fees are beyond a joke! The facility appears to be decent at first glance but the fees are disappointing, especially if you have to wait 2 weeks before you can see the person for you $25 assessment. You charge a lot for the fees & can’t get the service for 2 weeks? Extremely disappointing.

Expérience fantastique: Great gym with staff that is always friendly and helpful. Lots of equipment, space and different classes. Clean community gym for the family and fitness enthusiasts. Highly recommended.

Expérience positive: Love Tally's class, block therapy. I have decreased time and money spent on massage therapy. Love Christine J yoga beats: a mix of yoga flow, pilates, and a dance vibe, paired with invigorating and serene international music, you leave feeling strong, centered, free and at peace. Ken's yoga style is great. I would love to participate in some of his specialty classes offered at a cost: hand stands and acro yoga. I love Sara's barbell class. She's upbeat, warm, and welcoming. Her class is well organized, with music to match all the moves. You work in this class n have tons of fun. She's always smiling and definitely makes you feel a part of this class. Debbie R and Donna L yoga classes open your shoulders and hips as well as lengthens your torso. Well articulated, you stay in step with instructions and definitely maintain strength and/or peace. Jill is another fave. Her HIIT and Sculpt classes also target small muscle groups... love!!! Your physiotherapists will adore her. I love Charm Soriano. She's a great sub at Jill's class. I love zumba, but I find at Altea that the music and routine are limited to salsa type style, and so I haven't been going to their zumba classes. I love a variety of music and moves. They are just way too many to limit to salsa. It would be great to see some HIIT style dance incorporated also. A star is lost because of towel service. Lately, they have been smelling ghastly. Some days fresh, other days not at all. Smells like sweat. Just gross... Is it the detergent? Lazy staff? I have no clue, but this only started about 6-8 weeks ago. I've been here for over a year now, and I've never had this concern till now. Hope it resolves soon.

Expérience fantastique: Altea has multiple clean and working machines that have little screens/QR codes that show you how to use them. The road map session is also 100 percent worth it I had mine with Paul and he was really nice and helpful. Izzie gave me a tour of the facility and told me her experience using the gym which made it easier for me to visualize myself as a member all in all a ten out of ten experience

Expérience négative: Update. It has been getting worse by the minute. Do not join this gym. Great facility, but way too busy, they need to increase prices and offer better service. Even though there is a woman's only pool, if you are men good luck trying to find a spot for lap / lane free swim on the "family pool" as woman will go to there to swim anyways. Some of the people working at the front desk are not very friendly, the lady that cleans the building is super nice and they should have her teach some of the other staff how to greet people. The steam-room smells bad and it is doesn't look clean. The hot tub is too small. The change room / lockers are too small. No locks on the shower stalls and the are for the family change room is way too small. Overall ok, lots of classes, but don't go with high expectations.

Expérience fantastique: I just joined Altea October 2023. I have not been a member for every long however, I have attended almost every day since I joined. I am recovering from an injury and looking to get back to active living. I wanted to give a shout out to the instructors I have had the opportunity to work out with. Heather, Chelsea, Darolyn and Brontè, thank you for making working out fun and welcoming.

Expérience fantastique: I had a road map session with Paul Geli and it was great! Paul was very personable and knowledgeable. He took the time to learn about my injury, as well as really listened to what my goals are for joining Altea. Paul helped me come up with a realistic plan to reach those goals and I highly recommend him!

Expérience fantastique: Absolutely love Altea!!! There are soo many classes to choose from. The instructors are welcoming, knowledgeable and motivating. It is amazing to have a skating lab, climbing gym, pool, gym facilities and Starbucks all under the same roof. I appreciate having the option to work out early in the morning and a yin class right before bed!

Expérience négative: Very bad customer service. Most of the front desk members are not willing to help and once we joined no one takes care of the needs and requests even when we needed urgent help. Although gym is good but customer service is extremely disappointing.

Expérience fantastique: Altea Active has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staffs are friendly and well trained to give the best service to their members. Everyone is given an equal opportunity and treated fairly. I am having a great time there!!!

Expérience positive: New member. Facilities are nice, well maintained except for treadmill touchscreens can be glitchy. Phone app is terrible and needs redesigning. Hard to navigate and has software problems.

Expérience négative: The facility is good with nice equipment. But the personal training program really sucks. For anyone who considering sign up the program, that will be waste of money!!! The program manager only cares if they can sell the program and make more money. They don’t care clients’ experience at all. Super slow response when reach out to them for an issue. For example, 1. I want to fix my payment since day 1 but never been solved till the end. 2. They constantly county remaining sessions wrong. I have to count my sessions myself and bargain with them when they make mistakes. I’ll never go back to the gym once I finish my current program!! Once again, if you are considering sign up for a personal training program, don’t choose Altea!!

Expérience fantastique: I've had Donald Marcelo as my trainer for almost a year now, and he's been fantastic! He's very personable, flexible and he motivates me very well.. I look forward to the workouts and I like how he makes note of my goals and limitations (injury) and changes the routines regularly to keep things interesting while at the same time progressing! I look forward to working with him in the future and I have recommended him to my friends..

Donald has helped me gain confidence in my strength ability as well as taught me so much about physical health. He is patient and caring and a wonderful teacher. Thanks so much. Expérience fantastique: I've had an outstanding experience training here, especially with my personal trainer, Don Marcelo. He's both professional and genuinely caring. On several occasions, he’s noticed me training alone and, even outside our scheduled sessions, has come over to offer helpful pointers if my form needed correction. Thanks to Don’s dedication, I've made significant progress in my powerlifting. I highly recommend both Altea and Don to anyone serious about their fitness!

Expérience fantastique: Had to change this to 5 stars. Altea got a replacement scale. Appreciate the quick action on my concern noted below. WELL DONE! Nicest gym I’ve ever been a part of. Staff are great. Only complaint is they can’t keep a functioning scale in the Men’s locker room. It’s been broken several times. Asked one of the senior staff about it and they said they are waiting on a part. I’m sure this is the truth but scales can be as cheap as 30$ so why not buy one for members to use while you wait for the part??

Expérience positive: Its an overpriced gym. Ya sure they have great aesthetics but in the end when it comes to quality and selection of gym equipment they are on par with other gyms with much more affordable memberships. Furthermore, be really careful when you sign up for a subscription/course/session of any sort. Sessions are often pushed when you go to your first body-map consultation, but they are often nonrefundable. My trainer resigned half-way through my sessions and it was a headache to cancel the remaining sessions, but I must admit the management was cooperative and understanding. However, I still haven't gotten a refund for one of my unreceived sessions and to be honest, I'm so relieved to have this over that I might not consider pursue the matter further.

Expérience négative: After being a long term member, I have seen this gym flourish at the beginning, right down to the rubbles when I left. The maintenance and upkeep on the building is very poor. The amount of machines that are out of order, for a long period of time, the cardio section so loud that it sounds like a power plant, heat issues in the winter, water leaking from the roof and no hot water for the showers. Talking about showers, the men's showers almost 40% were out of order for over 2-3 weeks and most likely still are. I would never have thought I would have to wait for showers here or even start using the coed/family change room just to be privileged enough to get a shower. I personally had an issue with some faulty equipment and injured myself. I was out work and pay for a short period of time. I had reported the issue to the front desk multiple times on this selected equipment before my injury. I truly believed that the equipment was fixed before my next visit as there was "no out of order" signs. Turns out they're fix was just to flip the tripped breaker and continue on. I believe this is negligence on their part but they feel it is not and it's perfect fine. Perfectly fine to put their members at risk. Guess it's all about the revenue, memberships, and profits. After communicating back and forth with Tyler over a period of 2-3 months we came up with agreement for him to terminate my contract and released me to find a new facility. I recently joined Good Life Fitness Refinery just a short drive away, all I have to say is Wow! What an establishment and what they have to offer a member. A TRUE premium gym.

Expérience négative: The culture here is terrible from the staff to the members. The equipment is mediocre, expect half the treadmills to have issues. The sauna and steam room are great that’s about the best this facility has to offer.

Expérience fantastique: Winnipeg is a capital town of Manitoba Canada. It is a place where we keep driving all day long. The Altea Active is a newly constructed facility that offers multiple recreational activities. It has a great swimming pool that is my part of business. I prefer every Winnipeg to visit twice a week.

Expérience positive: My early review: “if you’re a weightlifter, it’s small, but if you enjoy health and wellness this gym is for you” would Definitely be the best quote. The co-ed weight lifting area is so tiny, that it is laughable for a gym that size. There definitely should be more of a focus on adding more space (somehow) for those who are there to workout via strength. ALSO THE weights are never cleaned up by staff. At The University of Manitoba gym, weights were always made sure to put in order. At Altea, free weights are everywhere and it is so annoying when trying to use them for the machines. The classes is a good fit for the membership! The Starbucks and smoothie bar is cool!!! not the biggest fan though of the tiny tiny aquariums the fish are put in. for sea fish of that size, they definitely need 10 X more the space and sometimes when I walk in it makes me sad that altea uses living breathing animals as simple decor.

Expérience fantastique: WINNIPEG’S BEST KEPT SECRET! Altea has to be Winnipeg’s best kept secret! I love the ladies pool and hot tub and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They remember my name and know that I always ask for two large towels so they have it ready for me when they see me. The sauna and steam rooms are wonderful and there are so many classes available. Also love the ladies gym. Altea is a wonderful place all year round but especially in winter. It’s like going to Thermea but not paying Thermea prices.

Expérience fantastique: This gym is absolutely amazing and offers everything! Cardio, weights swimming, yoga and a variety of classes. It has it all! They have the best instructors for all their classes and I always enjoy the warm welcome I get from staff. The hot tub, sauna and steam room are a nice added bonus too. One of my favourite classes is the Altea Bootcamp circuit with Lisa C. She motivates the class to give it their all and has best playlists that pump me up. Altea Active has changed my life and has been the best thing ever for my physical and mental well being.

Expérience fantastique: Altea is a fantastic gym. Very clean facility and maintained well. I LOVE the classes offered and the instructors are excellent. My personal favorites are barbell with Ashley, Barre, 20/20/20 with Jena and Ashtanga Hot Yoga with Philip! I truly look forward to every class I do. I joined with my 12 year old son and love that he can use all the equipment and do everything I can do!
