Expérience fantastique: Gold’s Gym is one of the best locations for a workout! Equipment is always clean, location isn’t very busy, and the staff are extremely kind and approachable. Would highly suggest this location especially for a female, as they have a female-only section.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent facility with friendly staff. Variety of equipment in great condition. There’s even a ladies only section if you’re on the shy side or a new gym goer. In town visiting and the drop in price is slightly pricy, but it’s totally worth it if you’re committed to working out.

Expérience négative: It's been less than an hour since I've signed up for a membership there and I'm already cancelling it. I guess it's no surprise since this is the same owner that was on CTV news for their shady business at UBC. I've been told there's complimentary parking before I signed up. They also advertise it all around the parking lot that it's something that's included in the membership. The sales rep I spoke to assured me that even though the complimentary parking is advertised for 1hr45min, I could even stay longer as long as I stay on their premise. Awesome. After I pay for the membership, I am told that even though the parking is free, the decal I need to access the parking lot is $50. Those posters advertising complimentary parking with membership? They're outdated but the staff forgot to mention that. Oops. They're already playing these stupid games 1 hour into the membership. I can't imagine the kind of BS they're going to try to pull down the road, when I don't have the 10-day protection. I'll save myself the headache.

To address your concern, we are happy to provide our members with secure underground parking while they are working out. Our members purchase access to the parking gate (this is similar to a fob for an apartment) and it lasts the span of your membership with us - as long as the access key does not get damaged or misplaced by the member. Expérience négative: I love this gym and go regularly but am posting this low rating to signal how much regular gym users DESPISE the weekend morning group fitness BS that’s now happening in the personal training area. The obnoxiously loud music and microphone being used by the instructor clashes horribly with the gym music, and the gym music itself is already clashing with the individual music 90% of gym users play on their headphones and AirPods during workouts. It’s a chaotic mess and everyone hates it. Keep the classes to the group fitness room and let people use the gym in peace.

Expérience fantastique: As a franchise, all Gold’s Gums are fairly similar. This is in the downstairs area and features the amenities one would expect at a Gold’s. It also had a separate room for Olympic-style lifting and deadlifts. I particularly appreciated that they had a deadlift bar and a Rogue CB4 buffalo bar. There is also loads of machines (plate loaded and selectorized), cardio equipment, and HIIT facilities.

Expérience négative: I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with Gold's Gym. Despite cancelling my membership in 2022 and having email proof of the cancellation, Gold's Gym has unjustly referred my account to a credit collection agency, significantly impacting my credit score and causing undue stress. Their actions are not only unprofessional but also potentially unlawful. The customer service at Gold's Gym has been appalling. It is virtually impossible to speak with anyone directly to resolve this matter. The lack of communication and accountability is deeply concerning. I am now considering taking legal action due to the severe implications this has on my credit score and overall life. I strongly advise potential members to reconsider before joining Gold's Gym. Their handling of cancellations and customer service is utterly unacceptable.

Expérience négative: Called to get information. Information was not released. Called corporate, marketing. Was instructed to call back and ask my questions and note what information I was not provided and call back to US HQ and inform. I called, asked for a manager to call me back. Been 3 weeks and 8 phone calls asking for a call back. Haven’t heard back. Would not recommend this franchise. Customer service is lacking. Also, I was told by a receptionist that they were making minimum wage so they didn’t really care. lol…. Fabulous. Good to know.

Expérience fantastique: Signed up slightly over a year ago, and the experience has been high quality - e.g., innovative equipment to lift weights, spacious area to complete essential core workouts, modern treadmill and cycling machinery, and responsive/resolute customer service. The latter is certainly important and has been exceptional. Environment is good; i.e., working out with your headphones on with a peace of mind and no nonsense. Overall, 5 of 5.

Expérience négative: I was lied to by two different personal trainers from this place two different times over the phone in regard to what they were going to do for me at this place. They lured me in with promises of personal instruction but between the two of them showed me how to use just a single fitness machine - the last trainer promised me a full half hour of instruction but when I opted out of signing up for a membership on the spot he abandoned me - I got the feeling that he didn't like the looks of me - he told me I'm be much better off at Fitness World down the street!

Expérience fantastique: It’s been over a year since I joined Gold's Gym West Broadway and I've been enjoying training here. The gym has a nice facility, including two Olympic platforms and 15kg barbells, perfect for weightlifting enthusiasts like me. The friendly staff also adds to the positive atmosphere. Recently, I've been working with trainer Ayberk, and it has been a game-changer. His expertise has helped me address imbalances and make significant progress. Each session with him is informative and enjoyable as he generously shares his knowledge. I highly recommend Ayberk for whoever wants to make a positive change with their fitness journey.

Expérience négative: Culture here is just non-existent, like any cookie cutter commercial gym. I can see why few women want to workout here, as all the guys who workout here are your typical fragile, insecure men who are in the gym to do anything but focus on themselves. Being a more muscular guy myself who takes fitness seriously, it’s crazy with how many eyes I have staring at me through my training session while these grown men just stand around gossiping to each other like it’s a coffee club… Been a member here for a bit now, and there have been instances where I hear some of these guys blatantly saying nasty things about me as I’m walking by them on the gym floor. Nice facility, friendly staff, but brutal culture that just makes the vibe here extremely negative.

Then they will claim you never asked to cancel your membership when you have proof via email. They are crooks and thieves and deserve to be sued. Expérience fantastique: I really enjoy this gym. The staff are extremely friendly and create a welcoming environment for everyone - whether you're a gym buff or a newcomer to fitness. I worked with one of their trainers, Amir, after recovering from surgery and throughout a harrowing work schedule. He was amazing, and an excellent communicator. I especially appreciate how creative he is in finding work arounds for injuries. You're never going to miss a work out if you don't want to with Amir. He'll find a way to modify an exercise so you still get a great work out, and that's hard to do with abdominal and back injuries. He approaches his coaching sessions like a physiotherapist: heavily influenced by kinesiology and very balanced. I highly recommend him, especially if you are looking to maximize fitness gains without aggravating injuries.

Expérience positive: I did a drop in at this gym. Writing this review for any ladies who do Olympic lifting - this gym does have 15kg olympic barbells (Rogue), you just have to go to the office area to ask for it because they don’t leave it out. They also have Eleiko plates and clips. There’s 2 Olympic platforms and 2 deadlifting platforms which is quite little for how busy it is. Other than that this gym is fine.

Amir has been my trainer for a while now, and my experience with him has been stellar! Expérience négative: Very frustrating experience. I saw the sign in the front advertising for a free day pass for new members so I went through the process of registration. Afterwards I went in and spoke to the front desk and had to go through a bit more process for registration (some are repetitive with what I did before but okay). After all that process I was told that I was good to go and had a staff give me a tour. Well the staff who was my tour guide told me that I didn’t actually qualify for a free day pass and tried to SELL me a day pass instead. His reason was because I lived too far away from the gym which I literally explained to the front desk during the registration and the front desk staff said it was okay. Very misleading promotion a lot of time was wasted. It would be nice if they were upfront with everything. Needless to say that I will not be returning.

Expérience négative: I cancelled my membership 6 years ago because I moved away and was never told I had a balance remaining. Instead of calling or emailing to let me know of this outstanding balance they sent it straight to collections to have my credit rating torched. Member support has been ignoring my emails and phone calls. Horrible customer service, I would not recommend.

Expérience négative: The quality of the gym is ok but the service needs tremendous work! My wife and I tried cancelling our membership as we are moving to Europe. We gave the necessary proof of moving in regards to the cancellation policy but they charged an extra $300 to my credit card and stopped replying to my emails when I asked why I was charged this. I guess since we’re moving they think I wouldn’t pursue this in the local court system. Very sketchy business practice! Be aware!

Expérience négative: Where do I begin? If you thought nothing was run worse than Fitness World, you’d be mistaken! From the cave like setting to the out of shape trainers, avoid this place like the plague. The management and staff are the most unprofessional team I have ever interacted with, and I worked for FW! This is not a gym for people who take fitness seriously. This Golds is nothing more than a hotel gym with far too much branding. You want some pinner pipsqueak for a ‘Sales Manager’ breathing down your neck after everything you do, join this gym! Maybe if he worked out as much as he did sitting around he’d actually be in shape. It’s hard to respect the manager of a gym when he obviously does not take care of himself. And to top it off I was told that there is no way to speak to anyone in management as customer service is not there concern. Do yourself a favour, join any other gym than this one.

Expérience positive: Overall this is a great gym. New machines and nice equipment. I even tried some personal training. The main issue with this location is it’s too small. I go in the morning to avoid the crowds and even then I have to wait to use the equipment.

Expérience négative: My 2 year membership expired in July and I've provided the documents to show that, yet they continue to charge me and refuse to reimburse the charges. I told them when signing up that I was on a 2 year visa and wouldn't require anything after July 2023, this was agreed upon but now they refuse to acknowledge my concerns, the emails from customer service aren't even signed off by anyone, no name or point of contact.

Expérience positive: Nice equipment, but it’s annoying when there’s no paper towel in the dispensers or soap in the bathroom at the very beginning of the day. Didn’t the gym just open? Also, I don’t like seeing the pride flag on display. I come here to workout, not be constantly reminded of your political views.

Expérience positive: Best thing about this gym is the people.The staff are great and the members are friendly.I have a few quibbles such as the lack of a juice bar or even so much as a vending machine. BYO everything. Also dislike hand blowers in washrooms which are germ dispersal units. Equipment is good, I would like to see a tibia raise machine but you ca'n't have everything. There should be more sets of the most popular dumb bells (25-45 lbs) These are small quibbles though and the facility is top notch. Edit: After many months I have to add to this review. It's about the hand dryer in the men's change room. It is ridiculous. The noise can be heard all the way to the club front door. It is a high pitched whine like an aircraft taking off.Some of us duck in to the change room to take phone calls away from the banging of weights. Forget that. Studies have shown these blowers do little more than distribute germs. And what is this for? To save on paper towels. And it's not just me. All of the members hate the thing. It is an unnecessary irritant and the club should get rid of it and spring for paper towels. Edit: The club made a huge improvement this week replacing the ultraloud hand blowers with very quiet Dyson hand blowers. It it perfect? Expérience négative: Do not go to this gym if you’re queer presenting or don’t look like the typical “gym go-er”. My friends and I wanted to check out Gold’s because we had been given 1 day passes. We were greeted coldly, made to wait 15 minutes, only for a white blonde manager to say we couldn’t go inside because we didn’t have ‘proper shoes’. There was no signage anywhere in-person or on the website about dress code at the gym. The woman asked “are you even looking for a gym membership?” in a condescending tone as we were waiting for the registration process to be completed. We are, but definitely not here.

Expérience positive: so so SO GOOD!!!!! Really recommend for beginners as the staff and members are all nice and understanding. I really feel like i am welcomed as a starter at the gym. Gordan was a really helpful trainer that taught me what i needed to know and showed me many beginner exercises to help me get started, the machines are fantastic, and the other members are all so helpful and super nice. I even had an incident with another member of the gym that was harassing me but the manager Farah was able to quickly help me resolve the situation and assure me that they wouldnt bother me again. which is awesome cuz i was worried that id have get harassed by him everytime i came to workout. which wouldve prevented me from coming to the gym as i wanted. id give 5/5 if i didnt have to see the face of the guy who cheated on his gf(my friend) and harassed me at the gym.

Expérience fantastique: This is a great gym. The staff is very friendly and approachable if you have any questions and feedback on equipment etc. I would give this gym 4.5 stars only because they are missing a few key pieces of equipment but that’s only if your the body builder kinda guy. But I did talk to them and they are planning on adding those pieces in the next couple years which is why I gave the 5 stars. One is the pendulum squat machine which is one of the best machines to add on your leg day to really focus on the quads better than any workout you can think of for the quads. The pendulum squat machine is very difficult to find in any gym so the fact that they’re adding it is amazing. Another is a standing lateral raise machine, Some call it a Watson machine. Another is the standing T Bar Row, they do have the seated one, but it doesn’t put you at the best angle but still workable. All in all a great gym if you can avoid the busy hours. Expérience fantastique: I was in Vancouver for a week last month and signed up for a weekly membership at Gold’s. Their team was very friendly and it was a fantastic experience. Expérience positive: I wish they had exercise machines that worked on the deltoids, wrist flexors and extensors, instead of having to using the dumbells. I couldn't find any calve exercise machines as well but I didn't inquire about those, I just did some calve raises. The staff were super nice and accommodating. Went for my two free days and had an overall good experience.

Expérience positive: Pros: -Decent gym; lots of equipment. -Good location - parking available + very close to transit. -Fair membership price compared to similar gyms. Cons: -Super crowded. -Personal trainers are pushy regarding signing up for paid sessions even if you explicitly say you can't afford it, which isn't great as this was my first impression of the gym (free PT session upon sign-up). -NOT open 24 hours! When I signed up (Nov 2022) it was still being advertised as 24 hours (giant neon sign on the door) and I discovered too late that it wasn't. This was a huge deal for me as the 24-hour access was the whole reason I signed up, and now I'm locked into a contract. I really hope they reinstate the 24 hours soon, but it seems unlikely.

Expérience positive: Intimidating. As a woman, I like to lift heavy the area set up for lifting heavy, was intimidating full of men, and felt like women wasn’t welcome. I found myself going from one end of the gym to the other to do my exercises I couldn’t consistently do two sets in a row because of the way the gym was laid out in the area with heavy lifting, and kettlebell swings were on two separate sides of the gym.

Expérience fantastique: Great facility with friendly staff! Whether you are utilizing purely the gym or also taking any of the fitness classes (from Yoga, to Pilates, Spin to Zumba classes) that are offered you feel part of the Gold’s Family and I have been a member for less than 2 weeks! Highly recommend taking one of Gemma’s classes! And for those days you want to be alone, ladies, there’s a ladies only section. Fthose on a budget, it is clear you really get the most bang for your buck out of this gym! It’s really an all-in-one membership! The only thing I regret is not signing up sooner! They don’t seem to welcome new customers and I don’t see even a little respect when they talk to new members who is not familiar with the facility. The way they talk to people is so offensive as if we are breaking into their private property. What is the point you keep emphasizing this is a private property? None of your sales/manager told me to bring an ID for check in and you keep saying it’s a policy which is posted on the website? How could a new member know about this?!! Expérience négative: When signing up for my membership they never mentioned there is a fee of $300 for canceling past 10 days. They never even offered a “free trial”. Now, they just use the argument that I already signed the contract, and that I must pay. This gym is not worth the money at all, and I can see from the reviews that I am not the only one who has face the exact same issue.

Expérience négative: I’d give 0 stars if possible . The gym is pretty decent . The front desk is also amazing . However this personal trainer called Mirthy Cheung act like he owns and run the gym as if he is the management /owner there and his attitude is absolutely unprofessional . There was this instance when i was using a equipment and he was with a client asked me how many sets i got to which i replied “ 5-8 mins “ & he just stood there right on top of me and asked me to “hurry tf up “ i didnt even bother replying to him and just left . and after that every time i’d see him in the gym he’ll just give me stares as if he’d want to harm me or something and always being a bully. Its good my contract is over and i cancelled my membership . But good luck to anyone signing here

Expérience négative: Super B.S.!!! I responded to the 3 day free trial membership online. I spoke to the people on the phone and on email. I came to see the facilities. They told me after doing so that I was not eligible because my address is in New Westminster. They did not tell me any of this until after wasting my time. My girlfriend lives in the area and I stay with her some of the time. She may even get a discount because of her line of work. I am super annoyed right now, having wasted my time. Don't promise something to people and then not deliver.

Expérience positive: I’ve noticed a few negative reviews about the staff but I’ve generally found them to be welcoming. Not the best Gold’s in the world. Obviously space is an issue out of their control, but there are some key machines missing that can easily be brought to this branch and would fit. Also, its very shady that they still have the “open 24 hours” sign lit up every night when they clearly don’t open 24 hours and haven’t for YEARS. Last time I asked why they haven’t returned to 24 hrs they said “because of covid”… this was 1 month ago, long after the pandemic was over. Having said that, its a clean branch in a good location and thats where the 3 stars came from.

Expérience négative: Avoid this gym if you can. Large up front fees, $50 parking annually, over $55-65/month membership and a $300 cancellation fee. It’s well equipped for most workouts but below average overall. Turf area is tiny, washrooms are small and outdated. There’s almost always a sink, toilet or soap dispenser broken for days and weeks on end. I would not set foot in the showers. They removed the snack/smoothie bar and the paper towel dispensers this year permanently. They left one mediocre blow dryer in the bathrooms. You’ll get the status boost of being a “gold’s member”, but will feel like you’re wasting your money. It’s like the Starbucks of gyms. Over priced for an underwhelming product. Langley Gold’s gets it! Or any Goodlife for that matter.

Expérience négative: In my case I have been member since before Covid. I canceled and took on my daughter membership later. During Covid the gym was good and people seemed organized. The year of 2022 I couldn't go much to the gym due to my work and every time I went there there was a system changing and download an app and your key doesn't work anymore. Every time the employees at the front desk were rushed and cared very little to take the time. The last time was also the last straw. An employee looked at me and said "you need to download the bar code, you must have come here long time ago". You think? Thank you for reminding me that I have been supporting this business even though I haven't been using. The classes are fine, the place is clean, the gym is busy and they change equipment very often from one place to another. The price is on the upper scale. My 1 star goes to my interactions with the front desk. I gave my cancellation and hopefully everything goes well.

Expérience négative: DO NOT SIGN UP, i use to work in Langley and signed up but live in Vancouver, I changed jobs to Burnaby and now they expect me to travel to cambie to gym. I thought I had only signed up for 1 year. I haven’t been to a golds location in over 1 year. This is why you shouldn’t sign up with gyms with limited locations. They expect you to travel 30 min to their gyms and sign you up on 2 year contracts.

Expérience fantastique: What prompted me to write this review is the fact that they noticed that I haven't signed in to the gym for over 2 months and decided to reach out to see if I was okay and that if I wanted to I could pause my membership. Usually gyms are cash grabs where they oversell memberships and hope people don't show up but I really appreciated this gesture. Gym itself is usually great and not too busy during the weekdays. Has everything you need in a gym and is affordable.

Expérience négative: 0 stars. Thought it was a decent gym until I decided to switch gyms. My membership was expiring but they do not explicitly say that once your membership expires, you are still paying for their services on a month-to-month basis instead of on a contract. So I was still getting charged without my knowledge. SUPER shady. They will continue to charge you without notice. After officially cancelling, I was still getting charged and I called to ask why the heck this was happening. Apparently cancellations take up to 30 days- meaning, again, I will still get charged until it’s ACTUALLY cancelled. Super confusing and I agree with previous reviews, they are trying to make extra money off of you. Please don’t go here.

Expérience fantastique: So I will start with the negative stuff: -most of the times free weights area can get crowded ( the good news is its not the whole day) I do think the gym management can re arrange the the gym in a better way to separate the free weights area from the machines area, the gym has plenty of empty space this will results in a less dense area) - The weights are annoying to put on and off easily into the bar (on the good side it won't be lose when you are bench pressing :')) -The changing room/locker area doesn't smell nice it doesn't smell bad either just no fresh air I guess ( install better ventilation plz) Now to the good stuff : -Nice friendly management and staff -The gym is always cleaned by someone all the time -New equipments and machines the best I think at least for all the gym I have been to all my life- 7 gyms total - -running machines treadmills has no TV! -location is great bus stop in front of the gym and there is parking underground as well I will update this review every few months

It would be nice to have squat rack with wooden floor, and a bench press with adjustable height for people with short arms like me. Expérience positive: The gym itself is okay, the members are awesome though. Drawbacks: - theres equipment constantly breaking and out of service. Maintenance of equipment isn’t very good. Literally see bolts, washers & screws on the ground - a lot of equipment isn’t levelled properly so it rocks as you use it - The brand they use “Technogym” isn’t very good compared to the other brands at other gyms - cleanliness is mediocre at best - High staff turnover at front desk and with trainers, constantly new faces - small gym so when they have group classes i.e. spin class and zumba, the music and screaming is obnoxiously loud and disruptive throughout the whole gym - huge cash grab, even not on contract when you cancel they say it’s a “30 day process” so 2 more withdrawals will happen.

Expérience négative: Probally the worst business I’ve encountered in my 52 years of life , signed a 2 year contract with my wife, promised a walk through and lesson, 3 emails later no contact , promised some perks for referring a friend, no nothing. . Then kind of lost interest after 1 month. This company’s bottom line is profit not customer service. Yes we’re both adults but you would think maybe as a health facilitator they would follow up and motivate and ask why we’re not coming . In 2 years i went once, my wife never stepped for in the gym , but without fail they took their money . And have fun trying to end your contract lol. Not impressed at all

I've neglected physical fitness in the past and he's really helped encourage me to come to the gym more, build a habit of exercising often, and taught me how to train with the right posture.

Expérience positive: I moved from Seattle to Vancouver and had to find a new gym. Got a membership here and after a few months, I am going to look elsewhere. This gym doesn't come even close to things like Lifetime in the US. The equipment is okay, but definitely feels older than average. They need a few more squat racks. The plates they use are extremely annoying - they are rubbery and very difficult to slide on the barbells. The gym is way too packed at any reasonable time of the day.

Expérience positive: Great place, friendly, clean, open till late (11 pm), large space with plenty of equipment, and even a women only exercise area. Great office staff too, friendly and responsive. The only complaint is that parking is extra as you have to get a fob for $50, no refundable. Otherwise very good gym.

Expérience fantastique: The gym is great. I love the group classes. I've also taken an assessment with trainer Vetri, and it was an amazing experience. He is smart, knows what he is doing and provides the best advice/ suggestions to improve your posture and physique. Looking forward to personal training sessions with him!

Expérience fantastique: I have been training with Vetri for only a short time but I am already seeing so much progression and improvement in my form, abilities and appearance. His help with my nutrition in addition to training has enabled me to make sure my entire fitness journey is on the right track.

Expérience fantastique: Great! Im a new member and I am loving Gold's Gym! Due to covid, I haven't had a gym membership in 2 years, but I miss Gym Life so I decided to get back into yearly Gym membership. I browsed several other gyms before checking out Gold's Gym. From my friend's referral I got to check out Gold's Gym free for a day. Honestly, Gold's Gym was the best out of all the other gyms I checked out. I really like how West Broadway Gold's Gym has new well-maintained clean equipment and the gym itself is clean. The gym has enough space that I can find a quiet space for myself to stretch before working out. The West Broadway staff are friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. The General Manager Noz is super sweet and nice, and she really cares about all the members. Noz is the best! I recommend you check out Gold's Gym, It is definitely the best in Vancouver!!!! I hope they open a Burnaby location in the near future!!

Expérience négative: I fully understand that covid has impacted gyms and made it difficult at times. However this gym is advertised as a 24hr gym. While other 24hr gym have gone back to regular hours this particular management has not. They continued to make excuses about the lack of cleaning staff. My guess is that they liked not paying the extra cleaning staff during the restrictions and have continued to not do so, although they still charge their members the full rate! I have heard stories of how money hungry and unfair this location is. The weight room area is incredibly small and this is not a true golds gym. There is a yoga room, bike spin room, women’s only room, personal training room (paying members not allowed fyi.. lame ), dance room and lastly a cardio room. As a result this leaves a small area for weights. This gym is not worth it.. stay away.

Expérience fantastique: I love this gym and the vibe is amazing! The staff are some of the nicest most helpful people I have ever met. There is lots of equipment and space in the gym and I highly recommend joining!

Expérience fantastique: Positive: Professionalism , Quality I had an excellent two months of personal training with John. I felt like he listened to my needs, pivoted when necessary, and introduced me to a wide, creative suite of exercises to meet my goals. I feel much more confident organizing and completing my own workouts now.

Expérience fantastique: Positive: Communication , Professionalism , Quality Absolute cracking place. Lots of good vibes and equipment. Margarita at reception is the most helpful and genuine human being, such a legend. Highly recommend the golds fam. Only thing to fault: too many people standing in front of the weight rack doing bicep curls. Come on people, step back

Expérience fantastique: Best gym in Vancouver by far. So spacious with new equipment which is a truly hard find for the city. Had a great introduction to the gym as well with the incredibly friendly and helpful Jessica, who is always available to help with anything, helping me find the best package for my needs. Can not recommend this gym more.
