Expérience négative: Do not enrol your kids in any activities. They just kicked my special needs daughter out of swimming lessons for not staying still in the pool. Absolutely ridiculous

Expérience négative: My daughter near drowned. They don't watch the kids. After posting what happened on social media, I have had responses of their own children not being watched and having near drowning experiences at the YMCA in sudbury. The managers gaslighted me saying she slipped when clearly she didn't slip and she jumped when the instructor told them to jump into water that was deep after clearly saying she can't go into water that is over her shoulders and she doesn't know how to put her head under water. This swim instructor was more interested in getting attention to her ass because her bathing suit was up her rear end and she was starting at a male instructor rather than her own tots. She shouldn't be working there. The fault of the instructor could have costed my daughters life. I asked for the incident report and they won't give it to me. YMCA don't bother to write asking me to connect when I've clearly connected. Im writing my review to warn others that there is a possibility of their child drowning or near drowning. This instructor s houldn't be working there anymore. There needs to be instructors that will watch the children. A few seconds can have a child drown and cost their life. Expérience négative: My son, who never been on the waterside wanted to go. I got a current copy of the schedule which said Friday from 6-630 the slide would be open. At 605pm I asked when it would be opened, which I was told 630. At 630 it was opened for 15 minutes and shut down. What a joke! For the $20 I spent for us to swim, that is how the pool operates?! When I told the manager how disappointed my son was, all she (Sarah) could be was sputter platitudes. This place is known to be struggling, and the way they run the pool, I never plan to attend again. YMCA, has lost another customer.

Expérience négative: If you want to waste your money and have a bad experience, this is the place for you. From day one, I couldn't register for any classes, and the staff gave me an email address but no one ever responded. There are 8-9 year old boys entering the women's locker room freely. The staff are rude, they broke my lock and took my belongings without informing me, and I had no idea that leaving items in the locker overnight was not allowed. The way they handled the situation was aggressive. The staff shouted at me with no manners or decency, and there was no apology at all. Kids are playing, fighting, and hitting me with balls in the swimming pool lanes. When I reported it to the staff, they said it was allowed. The management is extremely poor. Ironically, the staff member was later hit in the head by a ball thrown by a child. What a joke. I've emailed my complaints and received no response, the staff just ignore and pretend not to hear. This place is a waste of money, and they don’t even offer student discounts.

Expérience négative: I’m very disappointed with the billing system. I called months ago to cancel my membership, and from what I know it was cancelled until about 3 to 4 months later. I had $55 withdraw from my bank account unexpectedly, I called for a reimbursement I cancelled my account and they won’t refund me the money.

Expérience négative: Horrible staff they don't pay attention I got assaulted in the water by a grown man and none of the life guards didn't do anything. He was hurting young kids and adults the whole time. Then proceeded to punch me in the face.

Expérience fantastique: Friendly and helpful staff. Classes are informative and there is a wide range of things for children to get involved with. Worth every penny!

Expérience fantastique: Good staff, big building that encompass a wide range of services to the people of Sudbury. It's also a local gym. Personally, I find most people friendly at the YMCA; I only use the gym, but that's good for me. The enhanced change room is nice too. You can also grab a coffee and sits in the lounge room downstairs.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing place to come workout if you find the big commercial gyms to be too much. Now you don't have everything available thag a commercial gym would have. however, you can most definitely hit every muscle group with no problem given the equipment available. Staff are very nice and curious aswell! Highly recommend for newcomers in the fitness world!

Expérience négative: Broken equipment that rarely gets fixed. If it doesn’t get fixed it gets removed. The lack of a student membership at a discounted rate is extremely disappointing.

Expérience négative: Pool used to be amazing and always a good place to do lane swims and now during lane swims it’s full of people wearing t shirts and splashing around . We went for a lane swim in the lane swim pool and it’s not managed well at all! people who don’t know how to swim just ruining your swim and everything. Definitely cancelling now . Not a good experience at all do not recommend. Save yourself some money and avoid this place now unless you like people swimming overtop of you and slashing you. And halfway through this terrible swim the idiot took the flutterboard I was using just to splash around . Learn how to manage a pool properly.

Expérience négative: I used to love the YMCA.. it was an amazing place to take your kids and get active, great place to have family fun, awesome place for the teens to meet safely and hang out... I even used to meet my 90 year old grandma in park place for evening card games... we spent 5 days every week at the ymca for years.... UNFORTUNATELY those days are long gone... instead of my 19$ family membership, it now costs 125$ .. instead of my children's programs included with our membership, it is now ADDITIONAL costs for EACH program u want to register for , on top of my 125$ a month membership..... it's costed me over 500$ to get my 2 kids in sports again and this is only for 3 MONTHS.... YMCA you disappoint the community... you used to a great place for families who couldn't afford alot of recreational sports.. and now your robbing us BLIND ... I go now, and I'm not surprised at the empty gyms and hallways... shame on you YMCA

Expérience positive: I love coming here but only problem is the opening hours of ymca Especially during weekends like Saturday the close so early like at 11am.

Expérience fantastique: Absolute best bang for the buck! I had a membership at the two "24/5 & 24/7" gyms in town along with the Y family membership for my kids. Over and over I kept going to the Y. When it comes to weigh training. 6 squat racks!!!! That's nuts. The equipment spends a lot LESS time broken than the 24/5/7 gyms on either side of town. There's a massive pool (which I used weekly for adult swimming lessons included with my membership, then again to practice on my own). Only the colleges and university rival the facilities that the Y has. Communications/programs wise...you can actually get a call back from the person in charge of a program. This is mostly important for the kids programs...oh yeah, they have kids programs included with your Y membership. Kids programs...are substantial, 3 programs per child...but a bit crowded. The lifeguards especially were doing a great job with the number of small kids in their programs. It is hard to staff when parents decide to show up one week, then not again the 2nd. A 3 week absentee rule was implemented. The only problem for me before was time...the gym would open at 5am. Now during Covid...5am opening is a God sent. “2nd wave” Covid has changed the opening times to 7/8am. Sadness. Still a fantastic facility

Expérience fantastique: Great Place to come for a workout, gym has various excel code equipment, includes an indoor walking/running track. Also has an indoor heated pool. They run programs for children, my kid loves it! He enjoys the swimming lessons! Friendly staff!!

Expérience négative: So dissapointed by this place. I've been a YMCA member on and off since I was a baby. Today I brought my mother who is also an on and off YMCA member to use the "public" bathroom. My mother has a disability that requires her to use bathrooms almost every hour. The bathroom was locked. And we were told we were not allowed access, when we asked why the staff member told us " it's not open to the public becuase homeless people use it for other reasons." Two massive wrongdoings were made in this situation; 1) my mother was denied a basic human right. 2) homeless people also have a human right to use a bathroom for an organization that claims to have such strong "community values" denying this basic right to people in a city where there isn't even one men's shelter is appaling. My mother experienced this as abelism. We are now making a formal complaint. I am disgusted by this. And will make this well known.

Expérience positive: Parking is confusing. The elevator wasnt working , and i had to walk all the way around the building in the freezingcold with my infant. The gym was decent. Wish there was a larger variety of cardio machines. The child minding was awkward, but my baby survived. Theres wifi. Nice changerooms. Very loud with basketball. Would come here again. Heated pool for children, and adjustable heat on the showers. Perfect for a baby#

Expérience négative: "Young man, when you're low on your dough, young man there's a place you can go" NOT ANYMORE. You slippery jabronis charge too much!! Not only do you wake me up at 5am with some hostage scenario, you charge me waaaaaay too much to get a swell on brother. I like to get jacked but you are jackin me around with these high rates! Shame on you muskrat pounders.

Expérience fantastique: Great staff and great equipment. I really mean it the staff are genuinely solid here when it comes to working with clients . The change rooms are always freezing but thats probably to keep the bacterial levels down . Glad they have a sauna here too .

Expérience négative: Had a bad fall on the ice that gathered on the inside of the doors. I left messages for the female manager many times. She never bothered to call me back. Staff could not wait to rush me out of the place. Not wanting clients to see I was injured on their property. Was so angry no one took the time to call me or return my calls to see if I was ok. To this date they still have not fixed the problem. I went back several weeks later still limping and the ice was still there . Can not believe they did not call to see if I was ok and the manager not returning my calls. So if you have a senior citizens going in through the doors ..take them right through the front doors in the winter. They don't seem to care if anyone breaks a leg or a hip.! NOT impressed. I should have called the media than something would have been done!

Expérience positive: Great programs. Been there for 6 years with 2 children. Dancing, gymnastics and swimming. Could really use more gymnastic classes though. Needs a much better system for signing up for programs in the fall.

Expérience négative: Camp Falcona had major problems. The equipment and facilities are sub par and do not look like they have seen maintenance since the 90's. The kitchens were disgusting and didn't even have proper cleaning equipment, even the brooms were half broken. The crafts shelter has broken glass along all the windows and the laundry room has a malfunctioning washer/dryer. The archery equipment is in shards and nearly every arrow is broken.
