Expérience fantastique: GoodLife Fitness Gym in Sault Ste. Marie is tops in every category. Simply the BEST!!

Expérience négative: Oh my gosh -financial transparency online is non-existent -work discounts for family are 100% BS, as the person at the work has to get the membership first and then ADD you, so you're paying for two memberships anyways??? (Don't even get me started on how long it took for me to figure that out because goodlife kept juggling me with work) -tv shows are bad, most of them are American news/weather and I also watched a fish get gutted at the gym one day (now I have also seen a person stick their hand up a goats butt. Who wants to see that when they're trying to relax at the gym??? ) -they USED to only have two good treadmills (with fan + high bars so you're not hitting your hands) but one broke and it sat there for months until they GOT RID OF IT -why is there always something broken??? I went in the other day and an ENTIRE paper towel machine was just gone -membership upgrades for this location are pointless, I don't know why they offer them online this facility has none of the resources for them -they location is so inconvenient, the amount of times I have had to U-turn into the place because the intersection is backed up is ridiculous -the bike room is pointless. Those seats are so skinny and pointy only a baby would fit comfortably on them -all of the machines use the imperial system because they were made in the states. How many kilometers are you running? HA don't know! Do the math. -no one wipes down their machines, it's disgusting. Not to mention they don't actually enforce their rule of wiping down the machines at all The only positive they provide is multiple varieties of machines so if one machine doesn't work for your body another will. The second I find another gym that works for me I'm never coming back to this place, the amount you have to pay and for what you get is horrendous.

Expérience négative: Terrible business. Gives inaccurate corporate discount ($10 off instead of 50%), lies about it for months, then removes it altogether instead of fixing it. Also only has one good treadmill. Will not be returning to any goodlife locations. Edit to acknowledge the copy paste response: Last time I tried talking to customer service they ADDED to my bill instead of fixing the discount, so no thanks, you had your chance. Edit 2: Oh, that's cool, cancel the membership entirely without warning! These people are crooks, give your money to businesses that actually care about you as a person.

Expérience négative: I came from Toronto to this gym, and I am extremely disappointed. The staff at this location are very rude. I have been with GoodLife for over 10 years and have never experienced anything like this. Today, while I was working out, a woman who was working at the gym stopped me and took me to the front desk to explain the policy that I cannot wear sandals in the gym. Her friend, who does not work for GoodLife, started interrupting me. Despite telling her multiple times that it was none of her business, she continued to talk to me. The manager and this woman were very rude and eventually kicked me out. I feel very frustrated and upset with this gym. It is disheartening to be treated this way as a long-time member of GoodLife Fitness. I definitely do not recommend anyone go to this gym. The staff’s behavior is unacceptable, and I am extremely unhappy with both the gym and its employees Very week service

Expérience fantastique: Got a membership here after using a day pass because Dante talked me into it, so glad I did. I try to come on days he’s here, he’s always giving tips on your form and taking care of the gym.

Grace was there to help get me setup with my account and the troubleshooting issues I had with my account, ultimately caused by me. Grace was always there throughout the holidays, was friendly and extremely helpful at all times. Thanks for everything Grace, Robert.

Expérience positive: Good environment to work out. Friendly staff, lots of equipment and clean. Not enough staff though as weights are always mixed up and not replaced. I realize the members should be doing this but the reality is they just don’t.

Expérience négative: Gym is scheduled to open at 7am however it’s after 730..parking lot is full of members waiting.. doors not open. There was no option for no stars so went with one.

Expérience fantastique: I was in town on vacation visiting some friends when I thought I would get a day pass here. It's one of the nicest gyms I have ever seen. Plenty of machines and weights and room to move around. Showers are available and lockers. All the equipment looks very new and very well taken care of and all of the weight benches were soft and comfortable for laying on. I would definitely come back here again

The only thing that’s really frustrating is the hours on the weekends, I work full time like most of us and most of the time I am unable to make it there before 6pm and It’s very frustrating. Hours are NOT good for lifters - I travel all over and this is the only GoodLife I’ve ever seen that closes at 6pm on weekends. Most are 24hr so I’m paying to lift on their employee’s schedules. And now they took tanning away as well. This location is a joke. Seriously. You guys NEED new management. When I went in for a guest pass the staff member flat out told me they are accountable for memberships and because I travel for work I wanted to try out a couple different locations I wasn’t allowed to use a guest pass day there if I wasn’t prepared to sign up there. My work has a deal with GoodLife so when I did join - I signed up in Sudbury just so this location didn’t get the membership. I don’t know if GoodLife HO reads these, but you’re in trouble up here if you keep the management You have now.

Expérience fantastique: Excellent facility. Clean and friendly environment. Lots of workout equipment, free weights and cardio machines. The change rooms are spacious and well maintained. Staff and management are friendly and helpful. A city this size is lucky to have this gym!

Expérience fantastique: This is an immaculate club that is well managed. The resistance machines are laid out well and there's no wait to use them. There are also smaller rooms with hand weights, a turf area, a cycling studio, a core and stretch area, and a large and gorgeous aerobic room with virtual classes on demand. Everything is easy to find in this gym and the change rooms are excellent. The staff here are very friendly and the service is great!

Expérience fantastique: I'm a lawyer from the GTA and I bought a house in the Soo to be closer to certain friends, and for its peaceful small town lifestyle. I was a member at Movati in the GTA, so I looked at three different gyms in the Soo in search of somewhere that could at least mildly replicate the luxury club experience that I was accustomed to. Although the Soo unfortunately doesn't have that kind of gym yet, Goodlife was the only facility in the Soo that sufficiently met my minimum expectations. I signed up here today, and Cody was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I purchased their highest plan and voluntarily pre-paid for one year, plus a full-time locker unit rental (even though Cody offered bi-weekly payments). If they added a place to charge my Tesla while I work out, I'd happily pay extra for that service.

The trainers are very knowledgeable, I would recommend this gym to anyone, and especially to people who are looking to kill their fitness goals due to the large range of equipment available. If you are an avid gym goer, nothing in the Sault Ste. Marie area even compares.

Expérience négative: In my honest opinion, GoodLife is one of the most horribly run businesses in the sault. They do not treat you with respect, you're just a number. They tend not to handle issues of sexual misconduct such as harrassment and inviting other women for sexual favours, they look the other way, or continuously say "we need just one more complaint". This is ridiculous. As for management, if they don't clean up their act soon I can imagine the Better Business Bureau would have a field day.

Expérience négative: I joined a Trial membership last year, was supposed to have 2 or 3 visits in a 2 or 3 week period to try, I didn't go outside of my trial period but due to the way the employee signed me up, I didn't actually get the trial period. I was obligated to pay them for a full year. Absolute scam of an offer, still trying to have this disaster sorted out, not only do I not live in this city anymore, I don't live within a 4 hour drive of a GoodLife so I've never been able to use their gym... The gym itself wasnt awful or anything but wasn't quite what I'm looking for and had no intention of keeping a membership.Those two 'trial' visits cost me probably 600 dollars by now. Absolutely sleezy. Doesn't matter to them whether you have a family to feed or whether it was their mistake that caused this, a heads up to others, make sure you actually know what you're getting signed up for, these guys aren't afraid to steal from you.
