Expérience fantastique: I’m an out of province blue belt who was travelling through Regina. I emailed the gym about doing a drop in session and received a response that day! Went to the all skill level class today and it was amazing! Great environment with all kinds of skill levels! The instruction was easy to understand and straight forward. Everyone was extremely welcoming! They treated me like “one of the guys”. I HIGHLY recommend anyone who trains drop in! Great facility and people! Edit; Was back in town for 2024! Stopped in for a full week of training. It was amazing. Super welcoming group, got in lots of training with people of every skill level imaginable! I 100% will drop in again when I’m back in town! Can’t say enough good things about this place!

Expérience négative: Edit after AJ replie: I was not paid like promised for all tournament fees. You literally told me you would pay for all my out of town tournament fees You never said anything about a probation period for teaching classes for free. And yes, I taught classes for years, nice try Instead of telling your students to take my review down, why don't you man up and talk to me directly ? I have trained and coached there for roughly 6 years. You will be forced to buy their overpriced gear to be able to train. They will come up with excuses on why it's mandatory but don't get fooled it's all about making money I have coached Muay Thai there for YEARS for free until I got paid by AJ. It took me numerous attempts to get paid and I was met with excuses. He also never reimbursed me tournament fees that he said he would. Also you will be forced to buy some type of private insurance to train that is from SaskBJJ which is ran by AJ. AJ gets away with a lot of stuff by having a ton of yes-man around him. There would way more negative reviews if people weren't scared of him. I'm definitely not in that category and have no problem calling him out. Also, it is not a MMA gym even though it's in the name.

Expérience négative: Nothing wrong with the classes or the instructors but be careful about what you sign. The punch pass auto renews after 90 days wether you use it or not. They send you an email (less then 14 days) saying it is renewing but if you don't notify 14 days before you still have to pay.

Professor AJ Scales and the team are friendly, approachable and helpful. From little people to mature adults the classes cover the spectrum. From sanitization and cleaning practices of mats and facility to values/expectations of patrons for cleanliness and isolation, one feels good about training. Prof AJ is personally engaged and has developed an esprit de corps within this higher belts and the students of assisting each other in their learning...and doing it safely to avoid injury to self of others. No matter how fit you think you are, the training will push your mental and physical limits further. Let's not forget it is a martial art that is practical, progressive, and proven. AJ is an amazing teacher with hands on experience and has travelled the world winning championship metals and trophy’s which make the experience with his organization that much more amazing and real.
